I have a good friend who's been with her boyfriend for 7 years. They aren't getting married because she would lose her widow's pension. They seem to have a good relationship, but Bill will leave once or twice a month, saying he just needs to get away and be gone all day not telling my friend where he's going. He did this a couple days ago, returned and said he had been looking for a birthday present for her. It doesn't take all day to find a birthday gift. Should she be concerned?

I am going into senior year, and senior year is suppose to be the best year of your life. I have always been unlucky with making friends because I alwways become friends with the wrong people. I have become friends with people who influence me to make the wrong decisions. Today, one of my friends who was actually a good influence on me, told me to stop being her friend. I have plenty of clubs that I am in, and I have leadership roles in two of them, but the thing is none of the people in the club are my friends. So IDK what I should do the other part? I don't want to be out and open because people see that I am alone and they will make fun of me.

Im going on a trip with my camp to a place where we stay overnight. We all chose our rooms and i chose to be with my friends (im 13 and we are all around that age) So there are 8 people in our room, and i dont have any other friends at this camp, so i always stick with them. Today i learned something that really shocked me. I learned they all do drugs and drink like its nothing. I hear them saying "Im bringing weed and vape and hookah" and "were gonna get so drunk". So I'm 15 years old and schools coming up in a month or so but recently this whole summer I've been going through a lot of stress and depression. i miss my old house so much. I've had constant dreams about it since I have moved about almost 3 months ago. Like dreams of moving back and being with my friends . I am fairly certain that response was derived from a thought process that does not search for anyone to make "a big fuss of them". That precise mild mannered and humble natured response is one of the many characteristics that you embody that deem you an impressive person and all the more reason to send you a birthday card. Just to be clear, I know that a simple text message "Happy Birthday" will suffice. Seriously though, where is the fun in that? In my opinion everyone deserves a extra thought and smile, even if it is a small one, and you by far are not the exception. Need some independent advice. I have a very good friend called A, met her cousin B some time ago and we really clicked, we re both quite spiritual and just connected. I know that she s a drama queen and she loves to gossip but she always tells me she doesn t have anything bad to say about me. Ok so I was going to play minecraft with my skype friends, my main friends. And I messaged everyone asking them if they wanted to call and play, no answer from any of them. I find out they were all playing and calling together without me, I felt kinda sad but shook it off and asked to join the group call. No reply. I said "Hello?" no reply. I demanded to know who's idea was is because I needed to know to ask why he/she did it. She refused to tell me because I would "Have a rant" at them. Even if I wanted to. I have every right to have a go at them because they made me feel like jumping out of the window (because of my depression) Desperately I tried to find out who done it, why they done it and why they had to put me through it. A lot of people call me a "goody-goody" or "sweat" in a mocking way. Sometimes they go for "bad man" (which I find ironic being that I am female) when I happen to get caught doing something I probably shouldn't be. Needless to say, these are fourteen-year-old twerps, but, honestly, is there a way I can actually prove to them I'm not who they think I am? These people think that I'm a goody-goody with a perfect life because I get good grades and don't bother to talk to anyone in classes. But that's the thing - I'm purposefully ignoring people and blocking out this sh*tty world but they confuse it for paying attention and being stereotypically 'good'. They don't realise that I listen to punk music and like to wear black and really really want to dye my hair purple and get a nose piercing, but can't because of school rules that prohibit any kind of self-expression. They don't realise that I only try to get good grades, which, for one thing, isn't really that difficult, is to get away from them in McDonalds when I leave school. Is there any point in bothering to try and get them to understand that I'm not who my school attitude makes me out to be?

So I am a nanny for a family with two young children and I have been with this specific family for a few months now. I've never taken off any time besides last month when I had an appendicitis and had to have an appendectomy. I was hospitalized for a few days and naturally missed work, but that was a little out of my hands. I've never requested time off apart from that. Sunday night my best friend in the entire world was killed in a car accident. He was hit by a drunk driver. I informed the family I work for on Monday afternoon (when I found out) and asked for Thursday and Friday off. Thursday are his viewings and Friday is his funeral and burial. He lives out of state from me after moving for a job a few months ago so I askes for both days off one, because it's a small trip for me to get there and two, because he is practically my brother. I don't care if we don't share genes, we were that close, and I wanted to attend both his viewing and his funeral. The family is not letting me take the days off. I realize it's slightly last minute but you can't exactly ask off weeks in advance for a funeral, they're unexpected. I was denied the time off because the father will be out of town those days and the mother can't take off. The father however is out of town to visit family, not for work, he could take the children. They said definitely not Thursday, but there was a small chance I could take Friday off, MAYBE. I will not miss my best friends funeral. What do I do?

So, I have this friend, but we have not been friends for very long. I got to know her just 2 years ago and she seemed really fun and cool and we seemed to have a lot in common and at first I thought she really was going to be one of the best friends of my life. Me and this guy named Tom were supposedly friends. We worked together on the same team at this finance company for the past year. We were having issues on the business side of things the past few months. Tom said I can't work with you anymore Ryan. I am still at the same company as Tom just recently moved to a new team. Tom took a vacation from work at the finance company right after telling me in a very brief phone call that we can't work together on the same team. He hasn't been in the office for 5 weeks. I called Tom to ask where we stand and if we are still friends or what. He wasn't answering my calls or text messages for the last few weeks that he was on vacation from work from the finance company. This is the first time that I have ever showed up somewhere unannounced. Anyways I showed up at his family restaurant unannounced and Tom says to me right when I pulled into the parking lot I feel like I am being harassed right now and I am borderline going to call the cops. Then I said to Tom while sitting in the car, that I just came to hash things out face to face. Tom said we can't work together than I said so are we not friends. Tom said if that's what you want me to say. Then I got out of the car and Tom said I don't have time to talk my family is yelling at me to go pick up supplies for the restaurant. I then told Tom that he never explained to me how things were going to be. Tom then apologized to me for not explaining things and calmed down. Me and Tom spoke for like 30 minutes while standing in the parking lot. Tom said we just need to separate our teams from a business aspect. Tom asked me who would I liked to be work with in the company. Then Tom says I will find you a new team. The conversation took a pause and I stood their 1ft away from him and just stared at Tom in silence. Then Tom put his arms up motioning for me to go give him a hug. Tom then asked me if I would like a bottle of water. I said sure and he went into the restaurant and brought me out a cold bottle of water. Then Tom says I will still invite you out to family events like my birthday party, Christmas parties etc and then Tom said we will definitely go get dinner and a beer together just not right now at this very moment. Then Tom gave me a side hug and Tom said are we good? That happen at the very end of the 30 minute conversation in the parking lot. Tom claimed the reason we couldn't work together anymore was because he needed to see instant results on the team and I wasn't providing that so he wants me on another team. Tom claims it was nothing personal. Based of all this and what he did at the end could it be he wants to be friends but doesn't want to work together in business?

I've known her for about 10 years or so, and we've definitely had some tough times, and things have come to a head at times, too. Right now, there's a number of issues, such as that she owes me well over 200 dollars and keeps asking me for more money, despite me constantly telling her that whatever money I DO have is going directly into my college books and eye contacts because I need those for work. She doesn't seem to understand this even though she says okay, because two days later, she asks for gas money which she says she'll pay back 'Monday,' and if she does pay me back, it's actually her roommate paying me back. Her roommate is the other issue. I don't have an issue with her, but the fact that my friend took her out of a youth home without thinking about the consequences- well, her life. Except, it's encroaching on mine, because she apparently offered ME to give her rides to work all the time. Like, the other day, the roommate worked a split shift, so my friend asked me if I'd take her to and from work for both shifts. I told her I could take her to work in the morning but other than that I had plans, and then I had work, and my friend got snippy and said she had it taken care of. Yesterday, she asked me if I'd take her this morning, I said okay. My friend wasn't home, nor was she at work (they work together), and she doesn't get up that early in the morning, so I can only assume she stayed out of town. I have a life. I have a boyfriend and a job and I refuse to just drop everything so she can go out and have some fun herself. She was the one who decided to pick up a roommate, and while I have absolutely no hard feelings for said roommate, I'm not the taxi. What irks me as well is if I can't do it, my friend is all, 'well, I'll ask your dad.' No. You won't. My dad is at work. He is not leaving work to give someone else a ride. He already does your laundry because you're too lazy and cheap.

I live far away from my best friend and she recently told me that she had a really bad fall and hurt herself badly. I met this girl at work driving buses. Whenever she passes me going the other way she waves, usually she sees me first. Few weeks ago she was parked at a bus stop and I was coming towards her and as I checked my right mirror I noticed her waving at me, but in a slow way with a soft look at me. Also on that day when overtaking my bus she looked back and waved at me. A couple of weeks ago we met at the bus terminal on the way to the toilet and she said "hi how are you" and asked me how my disciplinary meeting went and when would I be getting transferred to her depot. So yesterday we both pulled up at bus stops on other side of the road from each other and she looked behind over her shoulder at me and waved. I looked at her but ignored her. Yesterday my mom told us we'd go to the mall, and my brother would bring his friend. For now, let's just call her Ashley. We've had to take her along for a couple car rides for school but that was about the only time I got to see her. Recently one of my friends got dumped by her boyfriend, and it was kinda messy. She was miserable. Now this girl is over 10 kgs overweight (22 pounds for retardo imperial system users) but facially very pretty. She's also a nice, bubbly, outgoing person with lots of friends...she's intelligent and quick witted too. One of the other girls said that it was obviously due to her weight that she got dumped in such an insulting manner. (he said he was never really into her, he just imagined he was) They went out for 3 years. The girls said that had she been physically fit and lost all that weight earlier he would never have left her and would've stayed tightly wrapped around her finger. She's now taken to swimming and is apparently in a much better place emotionally, but its still kind of sad to witness. But this has just left me wondering whether its the same for guys? Do they feel pressured or internally motivated to lose weight/get in shape after getting rejected? Or is their any other way they are supposed to make up for their shortcomings (lookswise)?

I've had a lot of friendships that lasted many years and I simply stopped talking to those people because they're weak, unstable and did nothing but complain about their health and situations. Once in a while talking about that stuff isn't bad, but I have no tolerance for headcases and people who don't want to try to do better for themselves. I had a best friend for 15 years and she needed professional help, which I told her she needs since I'm not in a position to tell her how to handle her emotions, and she stopped talking to me. I actually feel better not talking to her because all she did was pine over her ex who cheated on her and had a child with someone else while he was with her. At this point in my life, I've made friends with a lot of people who are strong and make beneficial decisions for their lives. Some people say it's a shame to lose friends and stop talking to people because they're weak - but it took a toll on me mentally. Am I being cold and insensitive?

Hi there. I consider myself to be antisocial and I tend to withdraw a lot from people due to my depression and for those reasons I have only one friend. Shes been my friend for 5 years. She had this boyfriend and everytime they would fight she came to me for advice which i was okay with because I wanted to help her. They broke up once and I had to be there to help her get through it. I had to try to keep her strong and help her get over it. But then maybe a month later, they got back together. A couple months later, they broke up again. This breakup definitely felt like it was going to be permanent. I spent months trying to get her out of being sad, trying to show her that she was worth so much and that he wasnt worth her time. I really always tried to be there for her when she needed me. I thought she was doing so good to get over him. Its 7 months later from the breakup and she calls me and tells me that her and her ex boyfriend were drinking together and had this huge fight the other night and then she tells me that she hooked up with him the night before that!. I am completely shocked. I spent so many months with her trying to get her over him and then I find out that they are back it. They arent even together she tells me, they are basically just hooking up. I know this is going to just end with her being hurt and im going to have to be the one to pick her up again. I dont know if i really want to do that again. She didnt listen to me the first two times. Her love life is just so much drama. I dont know if I want to deal with that drama. I felt like I worked so hard with her to get her over this man for nothing because she went right back to him again. Its getting so tiresome. I hate drama. Me and this guy named Tom were supposedly friends. We worked together on the same team at this finance company for the past year. We were having issues on the business side of things the past few months. Tom said I can't work with you anymore Ryan. I am still at the same company as Tom just recently moved to a new team. Tom took a vacation from work at the finance company right after telling me in a very brief phone call that we can't work together on the same team. He hasn't been in the office for 5 weeks. I called Tom to ask where we stand and if we are still friends or what. He wasn't answering my calls or text messages for the last few weeks that he was on vacation from work from the finance company. This is the first time that I have ever showed up somewhere unannounced. Anyways I showed up at his family restaurant unannounced and Tom says to me right when I pulled into the parking lot I feel like I am being harassed right now and I am borderline going to call the cops. Then I said to Tom while sitting in the car, that I just came to hash things out face to face. Tom said we can't work together than I said so are we not friends. Tom said if that's what you want me to say. Then I got out of the car and Tom said I don't have time to talk my family is yelling at me to go pick up supplies for the restaurant. I then told Tom that he never explained to me how things were going to be. Tom then apologized to me for not explaining things and calmed down. Me and Tom spoke for like 30 minutes while standing in the parking lot. Tom said we just need to separate our teams from a business aspect. Tom asked me who would I liked to be work with in the company. Then Tom says I will find you a new team. The conversation took a pause and I stood their 1ft away from him and just stared at Tom in silence. Then Tom put his arms up motioning for me to go give him a hug. Tom then asked me if I would like a bottle of water. I said sure and he went into the restaurant and brought me out a cold bottle of water. Then Tom says I will still invite you out to family events like my birthday party, Christmas parties etc and then Tom said we will definitely go get dinner and a beer together just not right now at this very moment. Then Tom gave me a side hug and Tom said are we good? That happen at the very end of the 30 minute conversation in the parking lot. Tom claimed the reason we couldn't work together anymore was because he needed to see instant results on the team and I wasn't providing that so he wants me on another team. Tom claims it was nothing personal. Based of all this and what he did at the end could it be he wants to be friends but doesn't want to work together in business? FYI: Tom's family owns a restaurant that he helps out with on the side.

Ok so here's the story. This is the only bug lie I've ever told and it's blown outta proportion to the point where I can't even keep up with the lie. So I'm 16 right now and a while back around 7 months ago I came across a large amount of money. Well it was only 1700 but for a 16 yr old that's alot. I got this money all legally and I'll just tell you it was from stocks. My parents always told me I wasn't allowed to do that tho idk why. With this money I went and bought a speaker system for my car. I know dumb idea. Here's where the lying started. They know I'm really good with computers. I am capable of hacking and coding and all that. I told them I got it off that. They didn't think it was true so I said ok fine. I hacked someone and stole some bitcoins. I was panicking it was the only thing I can think off. They know it's not easy as one person. I told them I had a group of people. This is also what I told my friends. Now my friends think I'm some master mind genius and my parents think I'm a thief. How should I get out of this. Please help.

I've been cheering since 6th grade and am now going into the 11th grade. It was easier at first as I didn't have much responsibility, but recently starting mid season of 10th grade, it has become so much harder. My anxiety is creeping as the school year gets closer because of what is to come. I'm extremely well liked and popular, so being a cheerleader was kind of given to me and I loved it. Once I got to high school , it became basically a chore. I don't enjoy it as much, it stresses me out so bad, and just isn't healthy for me. I love being involved in the community, so I participate in various clubs and groups, including being Student Body President. I also take higher leveled classes. With all of this combined, during the school year I get over worked to the point of crying myself to sleep. I get little to no sleep, my time consumed with extra activities I must host and participate in, homework, cheer, and other things. I get extremely thin during the school year as well because I almost never ate, simply because I forgot due to other things or I was too tired to eat and just wanted to sleep. I love my cheer family, I mean I grew up with them. However, its taking a tow at my own life. Everyone expects so much from me and I don't want to seem like a quitter because I am simply "tired". I just want to do things I enjoy, like art and writing, but I have no time for it. I just want to end things, but not let anyone down in the process. Sorry for any mistakes xx

I'm such a goody toe shoes. I'm made fun for it. I have stolen from a book fair once last year in sixth grade.. but that's about it. I've never fought anybody. I'll try to keep this short. My friend and I befriended a girl in high school that has 22q syndrome. According to her mother, she also has pre-autistic tendencies and diabetes. My friend and I did not mind being nice to this girl while we were in high school. The problem is we are now going to be seniors in college, and the mother still tries to get us to hang out with her daughter, and gets upset when we do not. It's not because we do not want to, even though it is getting to that point, my friend and I go to colleges that are 2 hours away from their house. I am very involved in school and I cannot come home every weekend to hang out with her daughter. My friend had to block the girl's mother on Facebook because she publicly announced on Facebook she refuses to hang out with her daughter because she is disabled. However, the girl still tries to contact my friend through Facebook and text. I still hang out with the girl occasionally while I am on break from college. Recently, the mother has gotten upset with me because I haven't take her daughter out to dinner. She commented on one of my statues saying her daughter misses me and I need to come and visit her. I work six days as a lifeguard. I'm tired. Also, I don't like being told I need to hang out with someone. Any advice? Also, the girl is 18 and I am turning 22.

I get trains alone, buses alone, going town alone, go to a local (2h) city alone, shopping alone etc. Is this normal? (my friends can't even get buses alone)

Ok so basically this girl named Cameron lives close to my house and we re on the same bus and used to hang out all year. She was in most of my classes at school and one of my best friends. She was literally the only one who I would tell my problems to that actually seemed like she cared. Now it is the summer going into high school and she ever wants to hang with me or "can t". Whenever I ask her to hang out she says stuff like "I can t I have family over" and then she posts something on Instagram with this girl that I can t stand because she ignores me and is obsessed with Cameron. Also, I invited her to PA to go to the beach for a week, a month in advance (where she always goes) an she said she couldn t because she had to go to this festival (for one day) then for the whole week I m in PA she is posting stuff on Instagram with the girl I couldn t stand at Cameron s pool. also she doesn t respond to my texts if I say like "hey do you wanna hang?" But if I txt her 5 seconds later saying "omg guess what" or something like that she txts back right away. Please help me I m so confused

Hi guys, so, I have had this friend sense 4th grade. She was a straight A student who didn't have the greatest home life. However, she was going places. She had a 4.5 GPA, was getting scholarships left and right and even attended UCLA. Now, this friend always seemed like she was going to make her living. She worked and made money. Well, then she met this scummy guy. As a result, she dropped out of college. He moved in, without her mom's permission (it was her mom's house) everyone that met him disliked him, her family didn't approve of him because of all his emotional baggage. He was supposed to have 2 children with 2 other women before, but one was stillborn & the other's mother ran off while pregnant. So, he had a longing for a baby. So, she admitted to me in early 2014 they had been trying. Even tho he had cheated on her, and she broke off their engagement for a mere weekend. When she did get pregnant, she tried to convince everyone they were using all methods of protection and that it was a freak thing anyway, about a year later, she's divorcing her husband (they eloped when she was pregnant) she's unemployed, going to ACC (which she is convinced with take her up top which sadly i know many people who have attended and are still unemployed) and living off of the system when she's capable of working. My question is, partly, she's been saving that money in a savings account, but is she allowed to do that? Doesn't she eventually have to pay back? I work a lot and it bugs me
