Posted: 17 Aug 2015 05:06 PM PDT Ok so there was this boy I liked in the sixth grade and we were friends but I never had his number or anything. We just follow each other on Instagram. He was shorter than me too but SUPER funny and cute and sweet and...Anyways in seventh grade he moved to Texas for a year and I thought he was gone forever so I went on liking other boys and blah but now he's back! I saw him at the market and we said hi and he's coming back to my school and now he's way taller than me and WAY cuter than before! But now we don't really know eachother anymore and I really wanna be good friends again. What should I do? I REALLY LIKE HIM LIKE ALOT! PLEASE HELP I NEED ADVICE! |

Question: Friends of the People.? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 04:42 PM PDT Is Friends of the People any good? Some commercials I see look really lame and some look interesting. So what's it mainly about. |
Posted: 17 Aug 2015 04:34 PM PDT So I'm constantly jumping to conclusions and stuff, but I wanted some other opinions (this is lame teenage stuff). A few days ago my friend sent me this link to a love calculator (which I was confused by), but I figured what's the harm and I put in my name and my celebrity crush (thank god) because it was a trick app and it sent a "random e-mail" to someone who turned out to be my friend with my crushes name in it. I don't know why he was trying to find out or anything and I'm not sure if I should be mad at him. Please help. |
Question: What to expect in high school? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 04:25 PM PDT So, I start in a week and need some advice on what to expect and how to I guess "survive" it? I m not too scared but I don t want to be unprepared. I have a few questions, like how do I make friends? I only have like two friends now and one hardly ever talks to me.. I m sort of a loser and I personally don t find myself very attractive (thanks to my dad) but I ve heard a lot changes in high school and I m worried I ll have to be friendless. People usually tell me I m intimidating but I can t help it.. It s just my face? I don t try to be and I m actually anxious a lot of the time at school but I guess since I m so good at putting on a confident face people assume I m ruder than I am? And as far as school work goes, I m really bad at doing things last minute and I d like to, hopefully change that, if you have any advice on what I should do, please tell me. (I am a girl btw, just so nobody gets confused) basically I just need help when it comes to making friends and not being so judgemental to myself, and also staying on top of assignments/not freaking out when someone asks me questions. |
Question: Lonely, unconfident.? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 04:22 PM PDT I am a 19 year old girl, I feel so lonely that right now I so crazy to just talk.. and I don't want to talk to my friends because they're never true friends with me. I feel so unconfident that when I talk to people ( dad, mom or others) I usually don't eye contact them and I panic. Due to panicing I forget what exactly I was going to say and say alternatives which are usually not appropirate for the situation. I sweat and never feel well when I talk to anyone. I have no idea what to do :(( I was told that I just need support which made me lose confident. I talk to mom but I think she doesn't understand me, I REALLY WANT TO BE SELF DEPENDENT AND CONFIDENT HELPPPPP |
Question: Is it wrong of me to not attend my best friend's wedding? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 04:12 PM PDT My best friend since childhood is getting married this November and has named me maid of honor. Problem is I don't even want to attend her wedding nor do I support her relationship with her fiancé. She met him in 2006 while they were briefly working together; they were BOTH married at the time, her for 5 years and him for 7. They struck up casual friendship and eventually slept together one time in 2007 (she claims). She's talked to me about this guy since she met him and has confessed that she's had feelings for him upon meeting him, feelings she's never had for her husband who'd she had been with for 12 years at that point. I've been cheated on before so I made it very clear to her that I did not approve of this situation and I STRONGLY encouraged her to fix things with her husband, and when this OM moved 800 miles away shortly after their fling, I thought things had a good shot of getting better. I never threatened to tell (in hindsight, maybe I should have?) but knowing me, she probably thought I would eventually. Anyway, after she slept with him, no other mention of him was made to me until 2009 when she served her husband divorce papers. He called me hysterically, wondering why she was doing this as they had the "perfect marriage." She never gave him any explanation other than she was unhappy with him. Turns out that she and this man remained in contact after he moved. They e-mailed every day for 2 years until he showed up on her doorstep in 2009 (husband wasn't home) professing his love for her and papers showing he had divorced his wife. My friend then followed suit. After her divorce, she moved to a town close to his and they secretly dated for 2 years (as she didn't want people to know of the affair). So now, everyone thinks they've only been together 4 years (when it's really 6, or technically 9) and I'm the only one that knows of their affair. I'm not trying to rain on her parade, but the whole thing is wrong to me. Her ex-husband is a great guy and she never expressed unhappiness before meeting the fiancé; in fact, she didn't even want to leave her husband until this guy officially left his wife (her words). That speaks volumes to me. On the other hand, they have been together a while and now have a beautiful 3 month old daughter (whom I consider my niece) and maybe some of my past bitterness is showing. I don't know. What would you do in my place? Also, neither of them had children with the ex-spouses and are no longer in contact for all I know. |

Question: Should I move to San Francisco next year? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 04:07 PM PDT I live 6 hours away in Southern California right now, and next year, I will have graduated from High School. My transcript isn't great so the best option for me is without a doubt community college. I've always wanted to move to San Francisco for a while, and I have a friend who shares this "dream." She is in my grade, and we have been friends since middle school, she is compatible, and I am in no way worried about living with her. The summer of next year, I will be 17 years old (turning 18 by the time the college semester starts) and she will be 19 years old. We would move in together and live as roommates. I know nothing about living there, and have only visited once. Can someone who lives there, and is preferably a college student, tell me what its like? Any suggestions? Should we even make the move? Have you lived there your whole life? Or did you make the move in your adult life? Whats your advice/thoughts? She would also be attending community college. We would have to provide for ourselves and pay for everything. What is that like? HOW DOES ADULT LIFE WORK! I started out writing this question well-composed... and now I'm freaking out about the prospect of the future help me please if you can! |
Posted: 17 Aug 2015 03:53 PM PDT My mom recently experienced the passing of my grandpa back in her hometown in China. What can I do or say to make her feel better? School's coming right around the corner and I'm afraid that I might give her even more stress :/ |
Question: Why should I talk to that girl? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 03:51 PM PDT Recently I've started school again and this year I can't help but feel helpless. With a lot of work already piling up, and virtually no social life, I am frustrated and stressed out. Everyone else has friends that they can depend on to give them homework hookups and help, and that alleviates their load of work substantially. I on the other hand have no one to rely on for help, and therefore I'm overwhelmed with heaps of bullshit and no friends to keep me at bay. I just want a girl friend to anchor me down and keep me sane, because I'm drifting. There are girls in my classes that I want to talk to and get to know them and establish a connection, but I'm too worried that I might fail to go and approach them. I just need some wise words of encouragement and advice to tell me why this is important in the long run. I want some meaningful words that you can tell me to motivate me to get my life together. Thank you. |
Question: I'm so freak in mad at my mom she won't let my grow but why somebody help me please? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 03:49 PM PDT and plus I had a big afro when I was in 5th grade and she has the meanest nerve to cut it off I hate that I AM SO FREAKING ANGRY OMG. |
Posted: 17 Aug 2015 03:47 PM PDT I was skyping my friend and he brought his friend to the chat.? When i first met his friend he had a really deep voice and He said he was 17. I said really he sounds much older then that. I asked him a few questions and he lives in New Jersery. His name is Josh. He has a really dark sense of humor about killing black people and blowing up stuff. I honestly thing he is lying and my friend says he is just joking.. but you honestly don't joke about that kind of stuff. My mind went instantly to him having problems. I have watched videos and stuff of when police officers hear things like this and was wondering if I should take furthur action and report authorities. He got really upset whne my friend was making jokes and acted quite rudely. What would you do if you heard a 17 saying he wanted to commit a mass murder at s school and my friend says he is joking.? |
Posted: 17 Aug 2015 03:20 PM PDT We ended things kind of sour junior year and haven't spoken in four months. Cross country is for a couple months so we will see each other everyday after school. I decided to be the bigger person and say hi to get the awkwardness over with. She would turn her body away and wouldn't make eye contact. I accept the fact that we probably will not rekindle our friendship. I don't want any drama this is both our last year in cc since we are seniors. What should I do? |
Question: What would you have done? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 03:16 PM PDT So today in class I was sitting facing this girl a couple seats ahead of me. When she leaned over the table to kiss her boyfriend I saw her pink panties and then when she sat back down I seen them even more. I got pretty hard off of it and class was about to end so I had to fix myself so nobody could notice. But I think she might have seen my... you know what. What would you have done? |

Question: How can i get annoying fuckboys to leave me and my friends alone at lunch? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 02:54 PM PDT so me and my friends dont like sitting at the school cafeteria not cause we are antisocial or anything but because we like to be able to talk about anything without people around us hearing it. So we sit in the cafeteria and this guys who at first i was like meh they are nice people but are now REALLY ANNOYING. We sit in wide stairs and theres another staircase that goes down and another that goes up right there. So they just sit in one of those and they are really really really getting on my nerves. Posted: 17 Aug 2015 02:47 PM PDT So idk what's going on my old best friend unfriended me during the summer and now he just looks at me all the time that I see him in the halls. I don't get his looks because if he wants my friendship back he has to apologize. Looking at me all the time won't do a thing for him and I heard that he talks behind my back and I don't give a damn cuz I don't talk behind his back. There is just no point. He just glimpses at me when he walks away and I don't give a cr'p for him because he had done more damage than expected during the break. Why do you think he looks at me sometimes? Should I contact my friend who is a friend of him and ask him why he does that because I really want to punch him in the face if he does that again? What should I do in general? |
Question: Would she see if I unblocked her on Fb? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 02:47 PM PDT She blocked me so I blocked her back. We stopped being friends before so she sent me a request and I accepted then she blocked me so I blocked her back. Question is will she see that I unblocked her? |
Question: I need help on dealing with this!? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 02:45 PM PDT i just started high school. i love my classes, but it is the social part that is hard for me to deal with. when i was in middle school i had a class of only eight kids. now, my high school has 500 in just my class. im not used to have to make new friends. i have two friends, but i need to make a few more. the problem is that everyone came from one of the same two middle schools, so they all are in a big group. i need to make a few more friends or join a group but i cant really get into a group because they are all already really close. what should i do? at lunch i try to sit with some people but they dont really talk to me. i am fairly outgoing but for some reason i cant make many new friends. i know it has only been three days. i hold it in at school and fake that i am happy, but i have come home and cried everyday! i need someone to give me really good advice! i am tired of crying and being upset! |
Question: Should I give them to her? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 02:44 PM PDT my friends birthday is on Thursday. I wrote a letter and drew her something for her favorite band. Question: How to get closer to newly met friends? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 02:30 PM PDT I met someone at my first day of Highschool (today is my third day) and I don't want to loose this friend! Question: Has this ever happened to anyone? Friend suddenly cut off all contact out of the blue? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 02:26 PM PDT So my friend and I have been friends for a few years and enjoyed each other's company. The last time we spoke everything was fine. Recently when I contacted my friend, they replied to the message I sent them by asking who it was ( and we have each other's contact details already). I told her who it was and she never replied back. We never had an argument ever and I am really hurt and confused as to why all contact has been stopped with no explanation at all. Has this ever happened to anyone else and how did you deal with this? Genuine answers only please. Thank you. |
Question: How to reinvent myself for one night? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 02:24 PM PDT So im going to a party soon and it is with a big crowd of people, very few of whom ive ever met or who know anything about me. I thought it would be a fun opportunity to completely 'reinvent' myself and pretend to be a whole new person, such as putting on an accent and acting as if i have a whole different life. I was wondering what I can do to achieve this and make it seem realistic! |
Question: Is this lady not attracted to me or interested? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 02:18 PM PDT met this girl at work driving buses. Whenever she passes me going the other way she waves, usually she sees me first. Few weeks ago she was parked at a bus stop and I was coming towards her and as I checked my right mirror I noticed her waving at me, but in a slow way with a soft look at me. Also on that day when overtaking my bus she looked back and waved at me. A couple of weeks ago we met at the bus terminal on the way to the toilet and she started a conversation with me. She would then talk about her getting into trouble for speeding by management. We were talking for about 5 mins. She said she was running late and needed to use the toilet and had better go. I left to go outside and she then came out after using the toilet and on passing me to get into her bus said she had bad hay fever, again as if initiating something So few days later she was coming towards me on her bus and she pushed her hair up but acted like she didn't see me and ignored me. So couple of weeks ago we both pulled up at bus stops on other side of the road from each other and she looked behind over her shoulder at me and waved. I looked at her but ignored her. So she waved again and again I kept looking but ignored her. She then looked puzzled and waved again and I smile laughed because she kept trying and she then had a little smile and drove off. She's just come back from holiday and when she saw me today she done a circular wave, like enthusiastically, and next day she waved with big smile |
Question: Friend Misses The "Old Me"? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 02:15 PM PDT Today, my friend I've known my whole life told me that she missed the way I used to act and wants the "old me back" from 3 years ago. She said i'm not as fun as I used to be, and I've really changed. The only time she ever told me that was when I told her I was bisexual, but I don't know why she'd bring it up again. I feel like she wants me to change myself, and it really made me upset. Why would she say that? I mean, who says that? I've been going through a lot lately (anxiety problems, sleeping problems, love, etc.) and not to mention load after load of hormones, and something like that really hurts. |

Question: Should i forgive her? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 01:36 PM PDT My friend played a prank on me. She acted like she was some boy, who was stalking me..said she has cameras in my house, and was dead serious. I told my mom, and she called the school...close enough to call the cops. We were on facetime the whole time, she hung up and told me it was her. Should I forgive her? |

Question: How do I break of a friendship with my best friend? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 01:11 PM PDT Last year I met a girl, let's call her Jesse for now. We had similar interests and we became friends not so long after talking. I thought she was nice, but I was wrong. Constantly using me for money, and when I said no she said I had no heart. Slapping me. Yelling at me. Arguing about practically nothing. And at graduation when I won an award, she cussed me out. Undoubtedly I had to forgive her to stop the bickering, so when school ending she asked for my Skype. I gave it to her, and she repeatedly spammed me. It had came to the point that she got mad at me for going to church with my family without telling her and constantly getting jealous over me hanging out with my other friends. The line was drawn this morning when she said that she would make a Youtube video saying that I hated my fans just so I would lose subscribers, and her reason for doing this was that I had more subscribers than her. I don't hate on her as a person, but I just can't put up with this anymore. How to I end my friendship with my best friend? |
Question: Why do I have no friends? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 01:04 PM PDT They all stopped talking to be and texting some don't even acknowledge me anymore. I did nothing wrong to them, and they seem to not like me anymore I did nothing. I always text them or FaceTime to ask to chat because we always face timed everyday if they aren't doing anything, and I know they aren't doing anything since one is keep uploading pictures to snapchat of his dog sleeping and one says he's busy which he's really on Xbox ignoring me. What did I do wrong? |
Question: What's the best way to let someone know that you don't want him/her in your life anymore? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 01:03 PM PDT Say if a friend said something that upset you or was talking behind your back. Do you tell your friend that you no longer want to be friends or just ignore him/her altogether? If you choose to ignore him/her, will he/she get mad? |

This makes me upset and a little mad. |
Question: How do you break off a friendship with your best friend? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 01:03 PM PDT Last year I met this girl, we were interested in similar things and became friends right away. However, I quickly learned she was not as nice as I thought. Using me for money, making fun of me, slapping me, and even bullying me. This morning she made me cry and I ve had enough. But Im afraid when we get back in school she ll bully me. What to do? |

Question: Is it wrong that I'm too impatient when it comes to making friends? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 12:41 PM PDT I'll admit that I have my flaws. I feel like I can be too impatient when it comes to making friends, because I see everybody else who has had friends for YEARS, while I can't keep any friends for more than 6 months, and it makes me feel like an alien. I do remember it being partially my fault for lending money, and most of the time, I get eithe backstabbed or ignored. I also think this is because I was an outcast and I never had any long lasting friendships. I grew up being the middle/high school loser. I was bullied for being ugly and weird and nobody liked me. I really don't care that I just finished college, because I'm on top with no friends to share it with, and that's saying something about me. |
Question: Why people are such douchebags after i get used to them? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 12:22 PM PDT So pretty much this happens almost everytime i meet someone new . For the first days we talk about things that we like and act pretty nice to each other . but after 1 week the person i was talking with suddenly becomes a douche . For example . My friend acts very different . He makes bad jokes about me , he has a very bad sarcasm aand much more . Why is this happening to me? I don't seem to be a bad person , i'm nice to everyone! |
Question: Is there something wrong with my friend mentally? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 12:14 PM PDT She has a large group of friends and does this to all of us. She works with disabled kids and is off for the summer. I work all day every day. I have explained to her I can not text, I do not text at work, and please do not text so much. She always starts with hi how are you? Then I get a LONG string of texts that go over the character limit and are pointless babble. She just told me she went out to eat with her mom, what she ate, exactly what time they ate it and every detail of her day. I really dont have time and dont want to read this nonsense. She is 40 but types like a teenager spilling boring details. I have asked her to stop. Could there be something wrong mentally where she just doesn't "get" it? She copies these texts and sends them all of us. I always ignore them. I have over 30 ignored texts. Why would she continue? Help? Also, I am barely friends with her. I see her about twice a year. Thanks. |
Posted: 17 Aug 2015 12:10 PM PDT so i have a friend from the internet that ive known for about a year and she said that i would be able to stay with her if i came to cyprus (she lives there), the only thing is i dont know how i am going to persuade my mum i am 15, turning 16 in december and am pretty mature and sensible, i hardly go out and have a small close group of friends so i never make any trouble lol, my mum trusts me quite a lot as i am aloud out and she buys me alcohol for parties and everything aha but i have no idea how im going to convince her to let me travel to cyrpus!!!! it will not cost a load of money as i wont have to pay for accommodation or food as i can stay with them and they will give me dinner so the only money i need is for the flights and spending money. the money isnt the issue either as i can save up and mum and dad would give me money if they let me go! any tips or anything would be great :) |
Question: My friend's son needs couseling, and his mother won't help him...? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 11:40 AM PDT My friend is my best friend. She had her son when she was 18. He is now 12. He is having severe social issues at school. He has no friends, he gets into fights with girls at school, tells everyone that he wants to be a girl, his grades are low, he is drawing violent pictures, says he has secret powers (eye beams) and will lazer mean people with his eyes. He also has seen several scary movies without his mom's permission and obsessively talks about them and ways to kill ppl. Her son is a nice kid. He is melodramatic and I think he is gay, and have thought so since he was very young. He went to a therapist for awhile, but my friend didn't like her, so she stopped. The therapist said he is not transgender, but might have A.D.D. I don't think he has A.D.D. because he can focus and carry on one subject for a long period of time. He lies and says he has friends at school, but the principal and teachers say he is a loner. I think drama would be a great outlet for him, but the school doesn't offer drama classes. (Cut programs). I am super concerned for him, and I feel that he needs help and help fast. I feel that if he isn't getting the help or attention that he needs, that he will Self destruct. (Ie suicide or shooting up a school). His father and mother are marries and they have 3 other kids including an infant. Maybe the family situation isn't ideal to him? His father was a marine and was deployed most of his young childhood. Any assistance or guidance would be great. |
Question: Should I reach out to her? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 11:31 AM PDT So a friend since K5, if not longer, and I haven't talked or anything for over 2 years. In high school everything had to be her way or no way and after YEARS I finally stood up for myself. Since then we have not talked or been friends on social media. We are both going into our 3rd year of college and I have really missed that friendship because we were best friends. I have been wondering if I should reach out to them and send a message to see if they would even reply. Should I or should I just leave well enough alone? I just hate to send something and they ignore me or just get all pissed off. I just need answers and preferably not someone who just wants to be rude. Thanks! : ) She definitely has changed from what I have heard of people associated with her. I'm not dumb enough to go back to someone who would treat me the same? |
Question: We moved and my sister wants to stop play volleyball and basketball? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 11:24 AM PDT My family moved a few weeks ago and my sister is an all star in volleyball and basketball. She plays club sports and would have gotten a scholarship if we did not move. The local high school that shes enrolled in the one in our school distract has losing basketball and volleyball historically. My sister told the principal and coach when they where touring the school that because of losing over and over she would not even consider playing for them. I mean I know losing sucks and its hard on anyone but straight up saying I will not be on a losing team seems like overkill. My dad wants her on a winning team because of scholarship chances and my mom is like I don't want to keep taking her to club anymore. Should the coach make her the star player after all her stats don't lie and they would be lucky if she suited up. Is she being selfish or just proving she is the best. The club teams are better. |
Question: They said it would get better in college, but it didn't. All I want is a friend.? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 11:16 AM PDT All through high school, I tried my best to make friends. However, because I don't have any talents, nobody wanted to bother hanging out with me. I figured this would get better in college. However, I'm now halfway done with college and it hasn't gotten better. I dorm and yet I'm still alone every weekend (it's a commuter school) and every vacation. Since I can't play a sport or an instrument, nobody wants to bother hanging out with me. I tried joining clubs, but all the clubs revolve around a talent or interest that I don't have. What can I do to make people want to spend time with me? |

I started off really liking it, and i still do, but this summer i have gotten so close to my parents that i cant leave them. School move in day is in 2 days, and i cant do it. I have stayed up crying for the past week until 4am. The thought of having to sleep in a dorm without my parents makes me so upset and im crying as i write this, just thinking of it. They also sent out rooming information, and i love my roomate, but everyone else in the dorm is so mean to me and treat me like a baby. i dont fit in at this school except for my roomate who is my best friend (but also friends with the mean ones) and my three other best friends, but they are all day students and dont board at school. My parents have already payed, is it too late to back out?? |

Question: Please help, how do i deal with this pain everyday whwn i go to school and even now??? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 11:00 AM PDT Please help, how do i deal with this??? Hello. So i had this friend i was close to. Lets say her names mack. We were close 7-8 mostly 8 grade. In 9th grd we talked in that one class we had but i could tell we werent as close. 10th grade the first day we hugged and all that stuff. Then days later we could work together in class(we had lunch and one class together) so when the teacher said that she went to her other friends and i also knew them too. So i was alone in that class for months. She ignores me for months. She usually says hi first shes outspoken im shy and quiet. Then my birthday came. I had a crown, sash, and she didn't tell me happy Birthday. I was hurt that she didn't. One day at lunch she came out of no where sat next to me and said hey. So i said hey back. I said hey because i dont and didnt dislike her i was kinda hurt and confused though. So then we disnt say nothing after that and went back to her table with her friends. Im just confused&hurt. I dont know what i did to her. Ugh. How do i get over this especially since i have to see her at school everyday it hurts. I also get the vibe she dosent like me. Last week at school she was leaving out after me and my best friend and my bestfriend hugged mack and hugged mack too( shes kinda cool with mack) mack & her mom didnt say anything to me even after i held the door open for them. It felt like a stab in my heart she was smiling laugh and everything. What should i do? How do i handle this pain and worry? |

Question: My friend is an egotistical spoiled brat? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 10:29 AM PDT I'm gonna try and keep this as short as possible. So,she wasn't like this before, but this year she really changed. Now she's all about partying and going out, and gets super mad when i'm not in the mood for it and says i abandon her and doesn't talk to me unless i practically apologise. She always copies everything i do/buy/say,which is getting ridiculous bc we look like freaking twins and she doesn't even admit it. She never apologises about any of the mean sh*t she says or does, and she always expects someone to apologise instead. She wants all the attention to her, always. She criticises me for things she does every day. She neglects me for days, then ditches our other friend and acts like my best friend for a week or two. She can't deal with being told "no", and throws tantrums or just pouts and doesn't speak to me for the rest of the day. She gets angry with everything, even if it;s not about her or insulting in any way. Her dad's always spoiling her and never tells her no,and h er poor mother is basically her slave and gets yelled at by her for practicaly breathing, when she's an incredible mom and lets her do anything. I'm so fed up with her. I want us to split ways but she's still my friend and i don't wanna lose her, what do i do?How can i turn her into her old, nice self again? |
Question: New school and making friends? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 10:29 AM PDT I just graduated from my old school ( a small private Catholic school - up to grade 6) and now I'm going to a middle/high school for 7th grade. I'm pretty nervous, as many of the girls who go to my new school are very wealthy and there are lots of cliques that aren't breaking up anytime soon. It's an all girl private school and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have a hard time finding a true friend, let alone with some of my interests. Does anyone have any tips for staying positive and being more outgoing when trying to make friends and transitioning to a new school? Thanks in advance. |
Question: I can't hang out with my sisters. Please Help? Posted: 17 Aug 2015 10:24 AM PDT Hi! My name is Ellie. I am 16 years old. I have two sisters named Lauren and Madison. Lauren is 19 and Madison is 14. I am very shy and have social anxiety. I have literally only 3 friends, but I don't get to see them very often. I am not involved in any clubs or sports at school. I like to work by myself and some people make me very nervous because I constantly feel like I am being judged or doing something wrong and they are going to yell at me for it. Also, I am socially awkward and don't blend in very well or have a lot in common with most kids my age. My sisters are very different from me and very similar to each other. They both smoke and drink and love to dress in skimpy clothes and twerk. They have a lot of friends and are very loud and sociable. They are barely ever home and often get invited places. Unlike me. I am home all the time. I don't like to have sleepovers unless it is at my house. They love to be away from home and have sleepovers anywhere. Sometimes, They ask if I want to go out to lunch with them or to go shopping with them. Just to hang for the day. I always say yes but it is very awkward. I stick out like a sore thumb. At lunch or wherever we are, they will start a conversation. However, I don't usually have a place in it because they tell each other everything and leave me out because they do not trust me and think I will tell our parents. So most of the time if not always, I trail behind them while they talk and laugh. Sorry for the length What should I do? I am tired of my life being like this and would like to change but I don't know how. It is all very hard. |
