My husband never wants to go on vacation with just the two of us. He always wants his parents or his friends (another couple) with us. He has promised me we could have a vacation for just us but then he always ends up inviting his friends or his parents without discussing it with me first. I usually find out by one of them casually saying something about making plans. He says I am just a loner and I have a problem. I have found that I don't want to spend that much time with these people. I didn't marry them, I married him. I have given in to what he wants all these years to just save face. He says that he doesn't want to hurt his parents feelings or lose his friends' friendship if he told them he just wanted it to be the two of us. I have friends that have no problem letting us know when they want alone time. He doesn't understand this. He takes it as a rejection. We have gone on weekend jaunts to car shows alone. He seems to think that is sufficient for our alone time. All of our children are grown and out of the house. I thought that this would be a wonderful romantic time, but it's not. When we go on vacation, I feel alone because of the time he always spends with the male counterparts of the group. I am not one to set around with the women and talk, I am a loner of sorts but I want his companionship, not everyone else's every time. Am I being overly stubborn and selfish? |

I told a few people and whenever people asked me if I had my first kiss, I always told them the story I made up. So now...a lot of people believe it. And I know it's stupid but I'm feeling guilty about lying to all of them. The only people who I told I made it up is my sister and my best friend. I even lied to my mom about it... In text messages when I tried to pin down a time like Friday or Saturday he would say oh I cant that friday cause I meeting with a client, Saturday he said he was going to see his brother, then when I would say how about next weekend he would say weekends are when clients are available to meet. He then says I am focused on getting my promotion right now. Then he said in text messages I will let you know when something opens open in my schedule. Then he said we will definitely get dinner when time permits. Then I spoke to him in person a week after that text message and he said He has told me in person that we will definitely get dinner just not at that very moment. Well I recently saw on Instagram he was at a bar this past Friday with a bunch of his fraternity friends from college. Me and Tom work together and are supposedly friends. Tom claims that he considers me a business partner and a friend. We are both straight males Tom has already told me in the past that we would definitely get dinner sometime. The main thing I'm freaking out about is having to sit and eat lunch alone. Being alone is one of my greatest fears. I was pretty much the low-key girl who some days would talk to everyone so I only have 1 real friend... the rest are acquaintances. I don't want to sit with the people I sat with last year because I don't really like any of them anymore. I would sit with my 'real' friend but, he's always hanging around some other girl who doesn't seem to like me very much. I get along with his friends better than anyone is my class but my school has class rallies and spirit week and **** like that where I have to be with other seniors. She won't stop bringing shįt up from when he was getting stepped on by a teacher, (not that way, but he got kicked out of his documentary group because he was having trouble searching stuff (he's dyslexic)) and he started becoming depressed, and she says that he deserves it. She has depression, basically putting him down, saying that he deserves it. Only because she dislikes him. probably not clear, but I tried.. I'm not sure what to say to her.. |

I've always been nice to them and very forgiving for all the things they have done to me. In middle school the bullying was so bad. A group of girls saw a picture of me and made the whole cafeteria "boo" me and my "friends" joined. I was so sad I ran to the bathroom crying. The good news is I'm in college now which I love. I had to even recently disable Facebook because I kept getting in fights and arguments for everything. People would express their feelings and be honest but when I did it then it was like the worst thing ever. I'm a very honest person and I've always been this way. There are times I disagree with someone so I express my feelings maturely but when I disagree with them they call me names and harass me. I've lost all of my friends from the past. I don't even talk to anyone anymore. I only have maybe 3 people max who are there for me and respect my opinions even if they disagree and we get along fine. All my old "friends" unfriend me,don't follow me on social media, and don't keep in contact. Every time I always get bullied and harrassed so badly I end up crying and becoming very sad like I want to hide in a shell and never come out. I've had them try to gang up on me already. Lately I've been feeling like the world is against me. I'm the one who helped most of those "friends" through high school and to get this in return hurts a lot. I feel like a looser and a nobody. Posted: 16 Aug 2015 03:40 PM PDT I've joined a new soccer team this season, and all the team members have been playing together since they were young. Most of them go to the same schools. I've run into this before, but within the first three practices I made some friends pretty quickly. The reason I feel they don't like me is because I'm always picked last or second to last for most drills (even though I'm not bad, I'd like to think I'm sort of good and we're all about the same skill level). Usually when they're talking and I add something to their conversation they stare at me and act like I never said anything. During practice if I screw up, the people on my scrimmage team glare at me and won't talk to me. Then they won't pass me the ball as they don't trust me with it. After games they go to the assistant coach'a house (they seem to have a special relationship with her) and the invitation is not extended. This needs to stop as it's really been getting to my confidence, before games I panic (which I never used to do) knowing that if I screw up they'll be furious with me. Quitting this team isn't an option as my high school doesn't have a team and at my age everyone goes to play high school. My other team wasn't that great so they thought I was really good (I was okay) and I did a lot with my team. It's different doing nothing except practices and games. I'm not sure if this is useful but the coach has a niece and she is one of the better players, I try talking to her bit she seems sort of cold. Any advice? |
| Posted: 16 Aug 2015 03:34 PM PDT So these neighbor kids keep coming over to my house uninvited, bypassing the front door (and my parents) to come and climb all over my childhood playhouse. My family isn't really friends with anyone in the neighborhood, so they wanted me to "be neighborly" to these kids. The kids range from 10 - 13 and I'm 16 so I really don't want to be hanging out with them. I spend a lot of time on my old playhouse just sitting on the swings listening to music, just hoping to spend some time by myself. But the kids come and are really loud and obnoxious and destructive. I can't go outside until the stars are out - no earlier. At sun-down they'll still come over and harass me at my playhouse. I want to tell them to go away and I've tried as politely as possible - but they literally can't take a hint. My dad was talking about confronting their parents but to everything destructive and rude they did I just laughed it off like everything was fine. (I was trying to be on my best behavior because they're little kids and they live next door. If they were my age I'd have thrown them out but I'm terrible with younger people) I need to do something but I'm at a loss as to what. I know I need to confront them without starting something else but how? I need advice. |

Last year, when I was in 9th grade, i had a few friends that I talked to, and ate lunch with, but they're not really my friends because we never hang out outside of school. None of my other "friends" are close enough to hang out with outside of school. And I never text anyone. I have terrible social anxiety and I'm awkward as hell. I'm also crap at having conversations. In middle school, I used to be bullied by these group of girls who thought i was weird because I never talked. They openly made fun of me and acted like they truly hated me. Because of this, no one in my class liked me. I was the "weird, quiet girl" and had only a few friends who dared to talk to me. My best friend in middle school goes to another high school now, so we can't hang out, plus she lives an hour away from me, and has moved on from me, I guess. We don't talk much anymore. We lived together, until our romantic relationship ended in April. We remained friends, but for quite some time now, my opinion of her has changed. She ended our relationship to pursue a relationship with her manager at her previous job, and moved in with him. She has two children, both have different fathers. One son (3) was conceived out of "rape", which I've recently discovered is a lie, and her other son (1) was also conceived out of "rape" by her soon to be ex-husband. She was a foster youth, and has mental and emotional issues. She claims she has been raped, was in a gang, has killed a man, was kidnapped and locked in a dog kennel, etc. At this point, I believe very little of it. She is a pathological liar, and I'm constantly catching her lying and confronting her, only for to tell me that I am "imagining things". One example is that she is allergic to latex, thus, must use latex-free condoms. When I babysat her 3 year old at her and her current boyfriend's place, there were several latex-free condom wrappers on the top of the kitchen trash. This was three months ago. She claims she's only had sex with him once, a couple of weeks ago. She has since moved back to her home state of Texas, with her boyfriend and three year old son in tow, but has abandoned and revoked all rights to her one year old son, who now lives here in New York with her STILL husband. Should I just end this toxic friendship? |

Today I am 14, and while I have recovered (kind of) from my father s death, there is still one thing keeping me up at night. I had many friends in Germany who went to their home countries the same year I left (tuitions went up or something). I miss them a lot. But that s not all. Long story short, the school in my home country (Bulgaria), went through financial problems, and all my friends from (pretty much everyone from my former class) scattered around the world. | Question: I don't like my best friends boyfriend?!? Posted: 16 Aug 2015 01:28 PM PDT My best friend has been dating a guy for a year who she really seems to love. Every time we hang out she brings him along. If she doesn't its because he's at work and when he gets off she wants us to go see him. She lives with him so she has every opportunity to spend time with him but I live 45 minutes away and I don't get to see her a lot. While I find that irritating my problem is more with the fact he is an asshole. Every time i'm with him, he makes very rude remarks about people. Mostly about appearance and usually its concerning over weight people. For the record, he is not skinny or very attractive. I have heard him say rape jokes and he uses the word "gay" in a very derogatory way. If I ever point out his misconduct he just pauses and continues his abuse. I don't want to strain my relationship with my friend or hurt her feeling but I cannot put up with him any longer. Do I say something to her? Do I just try to avoid him? Although that would be difficult. We have been friends for 15 years and I don't want to jeopardize it but he is on my last nerve. |

Posted: 16 Aug 2015 01:20 PM PDT It has been a rocky year for us and we have been fighting almost all the time over misunderstandings and petty situation.. But I feel like that the problem is that that we seem to be drifting apart after high school. We are kinda not involved in each other lives anymore and I will admit that I'm definitely putting myself first rather than my best friends now but due to the fact that it's been terrible for me for the past 2 years(Dropped out of college, Breakup, Death of a family member). I was and still completely lost in life and I wanted to spend some time alone to find myself. The last fight we had is over the fact that she and my other friends asked me out at the last minute and I told them that I didn't feel like going out on that day. We were going back and fourth, and she was basically saying that I didn't care anymore about that friendship and I told her that I do care, I just think that it's not that serious that I didn't wanna go out on that day. And then after that I haven't heard anything from her and even my other friends since. My plan is to contact my other friends and throw her a birthday party together when her birthday arrives next month so that I have a reason to get together with them and to also at least try to resolve the issue fairly between us but if that doesn't work. I'll still participate in throwing her that party regardless and then move on with my life. |

I feel so alone and it hurts being left out all the time. I think it's because I'm socially awkward. How do I stop this from upsetting me and not give a f***k? Did you ever break up with your friends? Which year was the hardest? What happened after? For me: Grade 9-the easiest grade ever academically, plus everyone wants to be friends with each other Grade 10-a bit harder. everyone has their own friends now. i was a loner. In grade 9 I was really short but I grew in this grade a lot. Grade 11-I had a few friends. I found it harder, but overrated. People say its the hardest but eh. Grade 12-People say its the easiest, dont understand that. Most of my friends already got early admission and i didnt. I did get into university though. University-I found it much better than high school. I love the independency. This is ironic too: my sister did better than me in high school but I did better than her in university. I studied astronomy and film, science too. I was bad at math though. i recently graduated and i make documentaries so far. hoping to make a movie eventually. my sister is becoming a biologist, but im happy pursuing my passion. My friends also went to the same university as me. They had more "serious" careers though. engineer, lawyer, etc |

Im planning on going to college back in my old state (where most of my friends are) and am wondering if its hard to make friends in college your first year? I take guitar lesson right now and am probably going to continue them up there, i also wanna join clubs or volunteering projects. Im probably going to have a part time job as well. Im mostly worried because i wasnt really able to make friends in high school, i moved from another state and didnt really fit in. A lot of kids in my school like to party and are immature so i didnt want to get caught up in that, the kids that are decent dont really like me because im quiet, and then the nerds/geeks just arent really my type of people to hang out with. Is college going to get easier? i dont really want to be alone anymore and am having panic attacks over being alone for the rest of my life. |

| Question: I think I hit a mailbox...How should I contact the people? Posted: 16 Aug 2015 12:34 PM PDT Late last night as I was backing out of a friend's driveway, I got close to their neighbor's mailbox. It's one of those surrounded by bricks. I didn't think I hit it as I didn't feel a bump or hear a sound, but my car shakes really bad anyway and I play the music loud. Anyway, today I went out to my car and there were some scratches on the bumper. I'm afraid I might have hit the bricks around the mailbox without realizing it, and I want to contact my friend's neighbor but I don't know how to go about it. I don't want them to think it was a purposeful hit and run if that is the cause of the scratches, and I want to let them know I will pay for any damages. I can't drive over there though because it's about a fifty mile round trip and with gas like it is right now I have to use it sparingly. Should I ask my friend to give them my number if there were damages or should I send a letter explaining my concerns since I don't actually know if I hit it? I don't want to put my friend in the middle of it, but not knowing if I hit their mailbox is really eating at me, and I just don't know what to do. I also want to make it clear that no I was not drinking or anything like that. |

Okay so I think bob fell for me really fast, while I was still confused if I wanted anything. we were considered 'talking' . when one night I went out and kissed another guy at a bar and he found out. an told me he was done but admitted he really liked me and he'd always open up to me but i would always assume the worst. after that when I lost him, I started chasing him trying to talk to him we'd talk for a little and again argue and he'd disappear he's a taurus. so this cycle was going on for almost a year now and I hadn't seen him since that happen. recently we got in contact again and i found out he was year visiting he lives out of town now. so anyways I told him this time I want answers I need answers. I am tired of him acting like hes giving me a chance but always getting mad and disappearing. he joked about if he see's me he wants to sleep with me , so I said okay i mean we been doing this for a year now and maybe that would help get the aggression out. he ended up coming over we had passionate sex more like making love. he got dressed after i asked if he was leaving he said no he'd stay a while so we went in the tv room and i started asking him questions he couldn't even look at me. i asked if he still cared he said no he didn't especially after what i did. then he got even more awkward he got up and said he was leaving but then said you can text me wth after what happen for 8 months he didn't want to see me why all of a sudden decide he was gonna sleep with me. an i thought if he saw me it bring old emotions back but he was so emotionless like a robot |

| Question: How to deal with an annoying friend that won't leave you alone.? Posted: 16 Aug 2015 12:01 PM PDT There is this buddy of mine that's kind of clingy and annoying. We are both dudes btw. I'm 22 and he's 21. He always wants to hangout. Like I will be sitting at home just trying to relax and watch tv and he won't leave me alone. If I ignore his calls he will blow up my phone. Then he will blow up the house phone constantly. He called my house phone 37 times once within a 2 hour period And I'm not exaggerating. I still live at home with my parents so they get irritated by it. He will also call my grandparents or any other contact he knows of trying to get a hold of me. If I do respond and tell him I'm busy he will know I'm home and just show up at my house anyway. And when he comes over he doesn't leave. He will just show up at my house at the crack of dawn and won't leave until like 1 am. What should I do? |

She doesn't beat around the bush either, she says "I don't want to go." Even if it's over to my house. When I see her at someone else's house or at a party, we talk and hang out, so I'm very confused. We are, or used to be, really close. She is the type of person who is honest but likes being alone a lot. Recently she's been hanging out everyday with one of my old friends she's gotten very close with. Sometimes the other friend invites me to hang out with them, and we have fun. But Sally's never with anyone else. But before school starts again I've been inviting her places with some of our other friends to hang out and she said no every time! I'm just kind of sick of it. Should I just stop inviting her if it seems like she never wants to go? Thanks. |
| Posted: 16 Aug 2015 11:39 AM PDT last class is full of girls I dont like and are rude and ghetto and nobody that I am friends with and that i talk to and my last class is pe so that is especially worse cause i really suck at pe. so at the end of class we had freetime and they were hanging out (about8 popular girls) with eahother and the other students were with there friends and i was on the bleachers on my phone the whole time what do i do?!? I don't wanna look like a loner and its the 2nd day of school! i also have school tomorrow help! If i went up to them that would be weird because they are like other people they will just think your annoying. Especially they dont have my kind of personality im interested in. They are a bit snobby. Im very shy as well but if someone talks to me i will try to talk to them without being awkward. |

I always thought to myself that noone likes me . Let's just get straight to the examples : I talk with a friend , after a good hour of talking with him he adds in the conversation another friend , they start chatting and then i feel left outside and stop typing . I feel like i'm always the 3rd wheel . Sometimes when my friends aren't online on skype i start searching on all the games they play / all the websites they go on and search for their friend's name . Can someone help me get over this because this is getting annoying |
