Question: Can strict rules cause a child to turn to OCD? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 01:15 PM PDT My ex and I were never really together and never married. We tried to work it out for our child but stopped seeing each other when she was 3. She is now 10 and he has married. Step mom has been with dad for 5 years but has really enforced some rules in the past year. She has chores here. Dad has zero chores or rules and never had them before. Step-mom has started enforcing rules such as sitting up straight, napkin on leg, no elbows on table. Brush teeth for exactly 2 minutes not a second more or less and so on. Since these have been enforced, I have seen a change in her. She will only eat on the hour here (im talking counting down seconds), she controls what she eats by eating by shape and size, and gets anxiety attacks when I tell her she must shower at a time that is not exactly ON the hour. She was just diagnosed OCD today since her rituals cause her anxiety. Could all these new rules be a trigger? I have a chart with chores where she earns video game time here and she likes that. Thoughts? |
Question: Off too college and leaving my mom behind........? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 01:12 PM PDT I'm moving to the university of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in a few days and I'm worried about leaving my mom. I currently live in Chicago along with my mother, uncle, and his wife. My situation is unfortunately unique because my mom will be home all alone after a month. My mother is a single parent and I'm her only child, so as you can imagine this will be much more difficult on her than me. My uncle and his wife currently live with us, but their moving out at the end of September, so my mom will be left all alone. This reason alone is making skeptical about moving. I'm thinking about staying a semester at U of I and transferring out to some school in Chicago so that I can commute. I'm not worried about myself to say the least. I know I can handle my own problems; however, that fact that I'm leaving my mom all alone is killing me in the inside and worsening my homesickness. How I'm i going to sleep at night knowing that i left her all alone with no one to take care of her or talk to her for that matter. I have never been separated for more than a week from my mom, so this new phase in my life is quite radical. If anyone can offer some advice on whether I should stick to U Of I or transfer out to Chicago I would appreciate it. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and helping me in any way you can. |
Posted: 18 Aug 2015 12:57 PM PDT For the past 7 years I've been badgered yelled at and put down by my Father and Stepmother, I admit I wasnt the greatest child but, I wasn't a devils child. They'd scream at me for the tiniest things that dont even matter in society. For example, the way I would write, I write at an angle so my writing looks italic or forgetting what day was a holiday. It's so trivial and retarded it makes me mad. Now that Im older and more independent. It has died down to about half the intensity. But Im still bickered at for my diet even though I eat healthy and only have maybe 4 cheat days out of a month, they have this retarded old world thinking that doesnt apply to the logic of todays world. They're also NEVER wrong, if I talk back and prove they're wrong. They cant handle it and start saying Im a nuisance and that I only talk back to them never to friends or anyone else. There's a reason why. they're so thickheaded and stubborn and never open to any other views. I myself am stubborn too I admit but, only to them noone else. So many things have been said that a parent should never said to they're kid, practically verbal abuse. Its come to a point that I can block them out completely and hear white noise. They cant handle that so they continously try things. DONT get me wrong Im not the greatest teenager, I have a temper problem but, I only take it out on people who put me down for an non legitimate reason. How do I give an illusion of being part of my family and not hurt them? |
Question: Whats my step moms deal? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 12:55 PM PDT I told her I smoked marijuana once she came by my house smelled it and she freaked badly AND IT WAS MY NEIGHBOR SMOKING. She knew I wasn't the reason it smelled but said I lived in a bad environment. Then she had my dad pretty much exclude me from the family and my step mom said I would turn into someone that has no ambition, and I would end up homeless. She acted like I was some ****** up heroin addict bum. I was going to school at the time and my parents help me with rent. She eventually convinced my dad to stop giving me rent while I was in school. So I was forced to drop out because I needed a job and had no money for the next semester. Her daughter crashed my/my brothers car and could have killed someone if there was a passenger. The new car was completely totaled. Then she gets a new car from her mom, and then she gets apple watches, louis vutton bags $1,200+ along with lots of dresses and other things. She then pays her son 15 an hour at her work and he shows up at least and 1 or 2 hours late EVERY DAY! and she still pays him. What is her deal? Last time I came back she freaked out because I didn't talk enough to her, I act nice to her I just don't like hanging around her much after what has happened. |

Posted: 18 Aug 2015 12:37 PM PDT Hello, I studied photography for 5 years and now I'm looking for a job now, I know there's not much jobs out there but I found multiple places that I can work in and I can take images in wedding parties, birthdays, celebrations, Etc.. I tried putting my money in a safe so I can take all the money after a year and buy a camera, I was surprised the money didn't make fourth the price. I scraped money for 2.5 years, My parents can't help me with the money because they don't have the enough money. I need to get a camera to start working, I need to open an apartment and help my parents! I tried going to a lot of stores and ask for a discount or donating the camera, But everyone refused, I tried joining giveaway contests online but for the past 2 years I failed. I also tried looking for bids on eBay but still, someone comes and raises the bid for more than 500 US Dollars. I am sick and tired of my life, I need a camera to work and help my parents! I need a job, I need to support my parents! I need to make a living :/ Please help me and give me your advice. All love and support, - Peter. |
Question: My son asked to see me naked? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 12:31 PM PDT His 11,almost 12 now.I said ok and when I took off my clothes he began touching me and would not stop. He eventually forced me down and went down on me. I let him do it for alittle while and then he tried to mount me but I slapped him and he stopped. Now he touches me and puts his hand up my skirt and tries to get into the bathroom when I am in the shower. He comes up to me when his father is not home and shows me his erect penis and tries to get me to touch it and suck it. What do I do???!!!hellllp |

Question: Why is my older brother a dick? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 12:29 PM PDT He eats my food with my name on it. Whenever were hanging out he will find something better to do and just drop me off all day. Even if he has room in the car. Then I'm at the house the rest of the day with no food because he eats it. And he gets pissed when I call him out telling me to shut up and he's gonna beat my *** but then when I'm like alright lets go he'll square up and I will to then he'll just be like nevermind. (He's done that alot) He's all bark and no bite but he's still a jerk. But he'll let me chill with him if I have money or something. Then he will get mad if I reject to buying him something like cigs or food. I DONT EVEN SMOKE CIGARETTES WHY SHOULD I BUY THEM? If I'm lucky my other brother is home and we'll just go hangout. BTW I'm 15 and my other brothers are older then me by a few years. The oldest is the dick. |
Question: How do I beat up my dad? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 12:03 PM PDT I'm 16 and probably under 6ft I am physically fit and have decent strength, I used to do boxing as well. My dad is 6ft 5 and really strong and big. He always will try and hit me for no reason, like a punch in the arm or a punch to the head. How do I beat him up, and how do I not fear him at all. I need a proper answer, not one that tells me to not to resort to violence. |

Question: Cannot drive far with bad shoulder mother doesn't understand? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 11:55 AM PDT I been diagnosed with restricted capsular is of the shoulder which means I am limited in what I am able to do as I have very severe pain and on strong painkillers. I can only manage to drive about a mile and a half before I get severe discomfort. My mother lives about 3 miles away from me and before I had this problem I used to take her shopping to a store a few miles from where she lives. But I have been unable to do this because of the pain and for safety reasons. I have to go to the hospital appointment and I only drive when I go to them. My mother thinks I don't care about her and to help her with shopping but I had to restrict my driving to just going to hospital or doctors. I feel as if she has spies on me. |
Question: How can i persuade my parents to let me go to a music festival I'm 16? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 11:42 AM PDT |
Question: How do I talk my parents into letting me go to boarding school? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 11:38 AM PDT Next year I want to go to boarding school in Colorado. I really don't know if my parents would support this because it's about 10 hours away from where I live currently and every time I bring up the idea (very causally) my mum always says something like "your dog would miss you" or "who would clean the house?". I know this school would be great for my mental, physical, and emotional health for a multitude of reasons. Also since my mother just got a job we can definitely afford it. I was thinking about writing an essay but I'm pretty sure my mother would not like that. How do I bring this up to them? |
Question: Anyone elses family like this? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 11:21 AM PDT things my dad does to help around the house: go to work and bring home money things my mom does to help around the house: clean the whole house (including the kitchen and bathroom) make the beds cook all meals do the food/clothes shopping wash the dishes do the laundry before you call me a hypocrite, i do help aorund the house as well |
Question: Can my dad get me and my siblings taken away from my mom? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 11:20 AM PDT I'm 15, and I live in South Carolina. My dad and my mom are going through a divorce, because of my dad's infidelity. He keeps coming home, but only to complain about how messy the house is and to yell at my family. He keeps threatening to call CPS if we don't clean up the house. The house isn't too messy, the kitchen is just messy because my 19 year old sister always cooks and never cleans, and my mother is always away at Tennis Club. Somebody could still walk around the house fine, and there's enough food to eat. There's no mold or maggots anywhere. It doesn't look like a dangerous environment at all, just some dirty dishes in the kitchen sink and a bunch of toys on the living room floor. He always complains about the house but never helps clean, and he keeps calling me and my siblings horrible names and saying rude things to my mom about our family. I'm convinced that he is crazy and just wants to make everybody else as miserable as he is. Can he call CPS under these circumstances? And do you think they would take him seriously? I'm convinced he just wants to call CPS because he hates my mom. Also, can he gain custody of any of me or my siblings without our consent, and force us to live with him? |
Question: I'm 17 and want to drop out of high school to get married but my parents won't let me? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 11:14 AM PDT All I want to do is get married to my boyfriend, have 4 children and have a pretty cozy home in a nice suburb. I want to be the perfect housewife; take care of the home, the kids, cook and clean and garden and take care of my husband and make sure he is happy. I want to wear pretty dresses and look my best at all times. My boyfriend is 21 and majoring in computer engineering and has a promising future. If he will be making enough money to support us, then there is no need for me to continue my education if I am never going to work. My parents think I am too young to marry, want me to date other guys in college and travel. My parents said I should wait until 25 or 30. |
Question: Why do bad things happen to good people? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 11:12 AM PDT Lately it seems like bad things keep happening to my family and I. I am 20 and my mother is a single mother of three. My siblings are older and have moved out, but living with my mom now is tough. we are always struggling with money and how we are going to afford things. She works full time (teachers assistant) and I work part time while I attend college full time. It s very frustrating, I feel like we do all the right things. I don t smoke or drink or party like my friends do. I hate to see my mom worried and I hate to not know whether we ll have electric tomorrow. It makes me want to drop out of school for a while so I can work full time. (This is my last school year though) I just don t understand why bad things keep happening to my mom and I? Last week her car battery died and then today her tire went flat. She could barely afford the battery so I don t know how well scrap up the money for a tire. I feel like I m at my wits end. |
Question: Why do I get insulted by my parents? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 11:02 AM PDT I have gotten insulted by my parents for about three years now. I am 16 and in 11th grade. Sometimes my parents see me doing homework for my honors classes I get insulted and told that I am going to get an F. I turn the paper in and tell my teacher sorry it is awful. I have 4 older brothers that are amazing at sports and not very good at academic work. My parents praise them like they are kings. I hate it I get called spoiled even though I have to buy everything with my own money. I haven't even bought myself a car to drive to work so I take a 2 hour long bus ride to work everyday. I also get called fat when I actually have an eating disorder I'm trying to overcome. I get called sh*t on the daily and I have to do all the chores in the house. I do sports but I am not amazing at them because I have work, school, and chores to focus on. If you think that I am complaining about not getting money from my parents I'm not, it is just I feel that I am treated badly in my home. My parents tell me that they love us all equally but I find it hard to believe when I have low confidence because my parents are putting me down. I thought parents were supposed to raise your self esteem. After some of the yelling at me and insulting me lectures I think about killing myself or running away because I can't stand the bullying. I don't know what to do anymore because no one will believe me since my parents know everyone in town and everyone loves them. |
Question: Why didn't she say sorry? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 10:58 AM PDT I ask my sister in law if she was mad at me because she included my husband in her Florida trip photos but not me and I apoligized if I made her mad and she came back and said " no im not mad , I didn't take tour picture because you were in your room the whole time " that is a lie because we were with them the whole time , barley in our room . Why did she say that instead of just saying oh sorry and no im not mad . |
Question: Why didn t she say sorry? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 10:55 AM PDT I thought my sister in law was mad at me because she didn t include me with my husband in her Florida fb pictures on a trip we took so i apoligized and she goes and says " im not mad , I didn t take s picture of u becuase u were in your room the whole time . " that is such a lie , I was with her the whole Trip . Why didn t she say sorry she didn t include me ? |
Question: My brother loves messing with me? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 10:48 AM PDT I'm 14 and he's 16 and he's always been so mean to me like when we were little he always shot me with his friends BB gun or water gun and I had to change clothes he even spit on me and my other siblings were just ltao they barely told him to stop.My mom did absolutely nothing and assumed that we were playing around. She doesn't even say nothing when he pulls pranks on me. He acts just like that guy from diary of a wimpy kid gregs brother I gave him the silent treatment but it's so hard to keep quiet especially now that he has his own BB gun and shoots me with it sometimes. What can I do to stop him? |
Question: What should I say in response to what my mom just posted on my timeline? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 10:03 AM PDT My mom is schizophrenic and her visitation rights were taken away when I was 10 and my dad blocked all her accounts on my Facebook account when he created it for me. I'm 18 now, so I'm free to talk to her, but I just sent her a friend request last night because I didn't realize until then that my dad had blocked her. Then earlier this morning she posted this on my timeline: "Did our minds merge from so far away, my sweetheart Katie? I was just thinking about you, hoping to be friends on Facebook." She might literally think our minds merged. That's consistent with her other delusions. What should I say? |
Question: Am I being used when its convenient for others? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 10:03 AM PDT So lately i feel like my own family has been taking advantage of me I'll give some examples so a lot of the time I take care of my nieces which I don't mind doing but lately I've been taking care of the 2-3 times a week and Then sometimes they don't even ask and leave them and I feel both the mom and dad don't respect me and humiliate me and make me feel bad at times. And the girls can be a pain at times.. Am I wrong that I keep letting them do this or is it time to play by what they do? |

Question: My dad and I got into a huge fight? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 09:53 AM PDT my brother, dad and I were planning on doing something today cause my dad has the day off work. my brother changed his mind on going, and so I did too. I wanted either all of us to be together, or if we weren't we could plan for a different day. my dad sat there and screamed and yelled at my brother and I, about how piss*d off he was, stuff like that. I gave him my reasons, and he continued to scream. he eventually stopped and I tried to get up and leave, then he told me I would sit back down if I knew what was right for me. he wasn't saying anything, so I asked him if I could leave and he told me to sit and rot on the couch. Then he made me sit there for a while, and eventually made me get up to to the laundry while he told me everything was my fault. what should I do? |
Question: Baby's 1st Birthday party a must? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 09:50 AM PDT I have three children (now grown). When each of them turned one, I just had a cake with some gifts and their grandparents and great grandparents stopped by. We are quiet people, so we don't care for huge parties with lots of people & our budget didn't allow for it. Now, years later, all the aunts and uncles are mad that we didn't have big parties and invite them all and they are making us pay the price for it by not speaking to us anymore. They say we pushed them out of their lives by not having large gatherings for birthday's, graduations, ect...How do you please everyone in your family or is it impossible? |

Question: How to defend yourself when your sister has told on you and gotten in trouble? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 09:44 AM PDT My 11 year old sister hit me in the head with a phone and told on me because I hit her back. She always expects not to get hit back when she hits me or my other siblings. When she hits us we get in trouble for hitting her back but she doesn't get in trouble for hitting, breaking stuff, throwing stuff, or spitting on our stuff. |

Question: Mom is always on the phone? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 08:37 AM PDT I'm 13, Me and my mom are very close and we talk a lot but whenever we're together at home and we're talking she always calls her best friend or her sister and just completely ignores me and when I try to talk to her while she's on the phone she just shushes me. We'll be having fun talking with each other and then she'll just randomly call her friend/sister and it's annoying because u feel like I'm too boring to talk with? And whenever I complain about it to her she just laughs it off even when I'm trying to be serious. Whenever she picks up the phone I know that I should just leave the room bc when she's talking on the phone she pays no attention to me at all. |

Question: Twin is gone, what do I do now? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 08:28 AM PDT We're both 18. In about 2 weeks, I'm leaving for college. She is an exchange student in Germany and left about 3 or 4 days ago, and won't be back for 10 months. We don't exactly have the best relationship, we generally don't hang out together or with the same friends, but we've never been apart for more than a week. I'm feeling very lonely and empty, and like I have a lot of time to myself. Even when I go to college, I have my own room and no roommate. I've been finding it hard to sleep without someone else in the room. I guess my question is how to deal with suddenly being alone after spending your entire life constantly with someone. Has anyone else had these problems? |
Posted: 18 Aug 2015 08:24 AM PDT So my son is 5 months, very active healthy, and such a happy baby. He smiles at us the minute he sees us and we interact with him (my husband, my parents, my sister, and our family friends.) Though, my son does not and refuses to smile around my husband's parents, and family. Why could this be? Could it be because they only visit my son once a week, or every other week? And when he's around them my son looks at them and then turns to look at us with a confused face. It's been like this since forever .... Could it be that or anything else? |
Question: Did my wife save me from screwing up? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 08:02 AM PDT My wife and I were at her mother's (Linda) house. My wife was showing me the family photo album. In it was Linda's pictures as a swim suit model. Wow, was Linda great looking and had a figure to die for. I told my wife "I see where you get your good looks. Your mother is gorgeous ". Linda heard me and came over and hugged me and said "You made my day". My wife asked her mother if she could still get in the bathing suit she had on in the pictures. Linda said "Yes, they still fit". My wife ask her mother to put one on so she could get a picture of her now in the swim suit. Linda said she did not think she should do that as the swim suit was too revealing. Linda turned to me and said "You would not like to see me in a micro bikini would you"? Every guy reading this knows what the truthful answer is but I can not say that. My thought was OH CRAP. What can I say without getting my wife made at me? My wife saved the day for me. She said "MOM, every guy likes to see a beautiful woman in a micro bikini". I think I owe my wife a dinner at a nice restaurant for keeping me out of trouble. Gals, do I? |
Question: Bitter Grandma Is Making Me Feel Like a Slut.? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 07:57 AM PDT Is it normal that I developed my anxieties from my family? To put this short because I'm freaking out and you readers are probably like "This chick is annoying and has problems." I walked into the family room this morning, with my underwear and tank top, just got out of bed and I just wanted my phone charger- my grandma starts yelling at me and she says "If you go in front of my husband, I'll kick your ***!" blah blah blah. She went into the kitchen where I ran away and locked myself in my room and I heard "She has no decency, she's showing off, blah blah" now, this wasn't the first time she's actually, personally put me down because I came into this house in my underwear. They do it all the time, actually, but when I do it they freak out and grandma gets all defensive about her husband and what not. Oh! Yeah, then I heard her say "That little girl isn't welcomed here anymore." I don't understand why it's such a sin that I'm in my undies like, when I was little I'd run around the house naked and now it's bad they can see my purple underwear? They always describe me as a whore and things like that and it really hurts. Grandma is the only one who has a problem with this, well, my uncle does too but if they just asked me to put on some shorts I would... But I don't like it when they freak out because "they're going to go to prison for seeing me" or "I'm going to steal her men." I don't know what the problem is. |

Question: Gals, would you be embarrassed if your friends knew about this? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 07:53 AM PDT I was visiting my husband's mother and I ask her to see his baby pictures. She gave me her family picture album to look at. In it was pictures of her being crowned Miss YYY 22 years ago. Was she ever beautiful them as she is now. She had never told me about this and neither had my husband. None of her friends know about it either. It was quite an honor so I asked my husband why she never told anyone about it. He said she was embarrassed that she could not fit in the dresses she wore when she was crowned Miss YYY. She had a gorgeous figure then and now. It turns out she is only 1 dress size larger now than when she was 20. What a remarkable feat for a woman in her 40s that has had 3 children. I just hope I am that lucky when I am her age. She has a birthday soon and I would like to give her a party to celebrate her birthday and being crowned Mis YYY and invite all her friends. I think they would like to know and would be very happy for the honor she has received. However the LAST THING I want to do is cause her any embarrassment. Gals, please give me your thoughts on how or if I should proceed with this. I WILL NOT do this if she does not want me to. I will ask her permission before I do it. Would you be embarrassed for your friends to know you were crowned Miss YYY 22 years ago. THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE Attention level 7 that keeps changing the category of this question. Question: Is it rude not to go see your newborn nephew? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 07:12 AM PDT My family and I are not close. My parents have always been emotionally abusive growing up. My sis wouldn't have my back when I needed her, she would pick everyone else over me. My family is giving me hell for not going to visit my sister and her new baby. I know that's my nephew but I don't like kids and I never chose to have children ever. I work a lot and I travel a lot for work. I give the best gifts so that could be a reason they would be upset. I don't like my family and I feel like I am walking on eggshells when I go see them and I can't wait to get away. They always expect me to pay for everything since I make more money than all of them. |
Posted: 18 Aug 2015 07:11 AM PDT School is around the corner and I haven't gone to the amusement park yet. Every year my parents promise and it's a complete disappointment. Last year I was only able to go because my aunt took me. I don't want to wait until the beginning of September for my parents to say "oh, we don't have enough time" when there's plenty of time now, but they're dragging their feet. I don't want to be bothered or disappointed with them so I want to go to the amusement park on my own. I will ask one of my relatives to use their credit card to book my bus ticket and park admission and pay it back to them in cash. I will have enough cash to cover my expenses in the park. I may go with some friends too. When I told my parents this, they didn't make a comment, but I don't completely care about their permission. I'm 17 and the amusement park is in Pennsylvania (I live in New York). It's a one day bus trip. I plan to spend $200. $120 towards booking and round trip and $80 for just in case. Should I take it ? |
Question: Do you think my sister has Asperger’s syndrome? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 07:05 AM PDT My sister has serious mental issues. She seems more like a sociopath. She has many symptoms of asperger's syndrome, such as lacks empathy, she only cares about herself, she doesn't have any friends and lacks social skills. Sher treats the family very badly. She is extremely sadistic and selfish. She curses and swears at my parents and at me. She does not respect my parents or anyone. She screams and yells all the time. She provokes and instigates fights for no reason. She bullies me and my dad constantly. She vandalizes the house, has gotten violent and she would throw fits when she doesn't get her way. She's OLDER than me. She thinks that the whole world is all about her and that everything revolves around her. She causes pain for everyone and does not even seem to care. My mom went to the emergency room the other day and my sister showed no concern whatsoever and even dragged my dad home because she wanted him to do something for her. She doesn't care about anyone but herself even if we're in a crisis situation. When we go out as a family, she forces us to do what she wants and she literally hit my dad while he was driving just because she was upset. I have met someone who has asperger's syndrome and he acted very much like my sister. I could be wrong, she may just be psychotic and have another mental disorder. I'm also not saying that all people who have asperger's syndrome are like this but I have dealt with some people who have it and they tend to act like my sister. If my sister does not have asperger's then what do you think she has? And how do we deal with this? She causes so many problems at home. She's also an adult and she's extremely spoiled. She's older than me. |
Question: Is it fair my parents are making me work? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 06:56 AM PDT ok this is the situation, i am 23, live at home and have been working for the last 3 years, i pay board to cover my costs. I have reached a point where i have enough savings that i can continue to pay my parents board for the next 4 years without having to work a day. I am tired of working and i just want to sit down and do nothing for as long as i can, but my parents are saying i have to have a job even though i have got my expenses covered. Surely if i pay my way it shouldn't matter to them how i spend my time?(its not like i am going to be on benefits!) also the savings i have would probably only last 6-12 months if i was paying rent privately i don't know what country you guys are from but here in england most adults under 30 live at home or get their parents to pay the cost of a flat getting some hostile answers, really i want to know how to convinve them to let me be unemployed for next 4 years, is that not my rightas a human being with savings? |
Question: Why are southerners like me disliked in other parts of USA? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 06:32 AM PDT Im from suburban Atlanta and my hubby and me moved up to Appalachian rural area of Pennsylvania(far more rural than where im from, which I was surprised by, and also many of the ppl have been there since the 1600 and 1700s and also many Germans, Dutch, English, Irish, French descent etc). I was going on about how I could hardly live without sweet tea, cracker barrel and southern hospitality, one man, who was a handsome, tattooed 5'10 slim German descent man with slicked back darkhair, blue eyes, olive skin and strong jaw said with a deep voice, calm Midwestern type accent "Well, maybe you should've stayed down there!", he was offended saying his family has been in the area since the late 1600s and were farmers, another man is from Texas originally and says that Southerners move to other parts of the country and think they are above others and need to be respectful, also have a coworker from Southern California echoed that. |
Question: Why is my mother always giving me an attitude? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 05:59 AM PDT So basically my mother has been acting weird and I seriously haven t even done a single thing to her, I pay rent, I have a full time job, and I am enrolled in college, I babysit my brother while she s at work and I feed everyone in the house. I m honestly so confused and I tell her that I love her and she goes "yea love you too" I really don t understand why she has so much hatred towards me. I m trying to understand why she s always giving me dirty faces and nasty attitudes, I ve approached her about it and she just tells me I m over exagerating. I honestly think my mothers having an affair because she s been talking about go to vacation with my aunt but my aunt was in PR so where did she go. I really don t care who she is seeing id just like her to be more open. We use to be so close and now it s like I don t even know her and everything I do or say to her makes her wanna hit me. |

Question: How To Ask My Mom To Stay Home From School? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 05:57 AM PDT Since last night, I've had horrible body cramps, I've been sweating a lot, and I've been going in and out of a fever. Unfortunately, my school doesn't takes absences well, especially since this is the first full week of school for the new school year. I don't really care about them, I'm seriously sick. But asking my mom is a different story. We've gotten into a lot of fights in the past few school years, mostly about me staying home. I also have a big issue with anxiety, so asking my mom to stay home literally leaves me shaking and sometimes crying since I feel so anxious about it. What do I do? How do I ask her? I also have been feeling the need to vomit but have been unable to do so. And it's in the hundreds today, and my school has me spend lunch and break outside. |
Question: Shopping by myself is strange? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 05:28 AM PDT I love shopping by myself! And I'm a big fan of Disney so I often go to the Disney store by myself. I have friends in my school yes! But I just love shopping by myself! Is that strange thing? My family, especially my mom always says me "You're so odd! I can't understand why you like shopping by yourself so much" Do you think I'm odd? Shopping by myself is not good? |

Posted: 18 Aug 2015 05:23 AM PDT my dad wants me to give him $150 just because I took a long shower threatening to shut my phone down and kick me out for having ocd issues. he doesn't understand me or anything that makes sense to me. every single thing I do he hates. what the **** is wrong with my ****** up parents? |
Question: How do I make my "nephew" feel more included on this family vacation? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 05:02 AM PDT My mother's boyfriend has a grandson so he's kind of classified as my nephew in some way I think. I have always treated him as family but I haven't really spent any time with him since he was a kid. He's 15 now. My husband, daughter, my mother and myself go on a family vacation to the beach every year and my mother asked if she could bring my nephew with her. I immediately told her no problem. We have room for him. But then I got to thinking about it and I have no idea what he likes to do or any of his interests and we haven't seen or spoken to each other in years. The last conversation that I had with him was about Thomas the Train. LOL. So, how do I go about making him feel more included in this vacation, other than the fact that he's coming with us? |
Question: Moving in with the other parent? Posted: 18 Aug 2015 04:56 AM PDT I'm 16 and I'm planning on moving in with my father, to get away from my mentally abusive mother. Can someone please explain the process to me, along with an estimate as to how long it will take? Thanks |
Posted: 18 Aug 2015 04:05 AM PDT I don't know what to think of this. My mother is constantly attempting to get me to make a trip with her across Europe and pay for her trip. Which is kind of annoying. I feel like she is trying to take advantage of me. She talks to me in a weird pinched voice that I would normally expect when you are trying to fool someone at the marketplace. I make money, not that much that I can afford to give her a free trip in Europe, that would mean wasting most of the extra money that I make in 4 months which is a bit too much for me. This is just with me. I have an older brother but she never asked anything like this from him. Like she thinks I am the only one that can be fooled to take her. Also there were some incidents in which she called me names, raised her voice at me and went berserk on me. It left me traumatized for a couple of weeks whenever I remembered what she did. I think she thought she could make me do anything that she wants. I am scared of trusting her because she thinks she can control me and get me to do whatever she wants, especially for herself. Am I right? |
