Posted: 20 Aug 2015 05:15 PM PDT I've always had trouble confronting people, by that I mean making new friends I get very scared that if I approach them, they'll think I'm weird or something. I hate talking to people first, I'd rather them come to me. Anyway I just am really lonely at school because I have no one to talk to because I am new to this school district. I don't know anyone here and I can't seem to get anyone to talk to me. I hate having to sit alone at a lunch table, I legit was thinking about eating in the bathroom stall with my legs pull up. So No one could see me. I know, it's only the first day, but I absolutely hate not having friends. I'm just too Shy to make any. I have social anxiety, but after Im finally friends with them in feel completely comfortable. Like after I have at least 2-3 friends, I break out of my social anxiety and I act normal even when their not around I'll act just like they were. I really don't know what to do, or how to make friends, cause approaching is not an option for me, unfortunately. |

Don't get me wrong, she's a great friend, but after the awards ceremony I feel like ****. We were in most of the same classes (like algebra, world history, and biology). I'd say we're both pretty smart. I made A's in these classes and so did she. But around award ceremony time at the end of the year, she seemingly got nominated for biology. Ok, I had a low A in this class (around 93) and she was pretty good in biology. But apparently at the ceremony she received like SIX awards in biology, world history, english, art, math, and receiving principles roll all three semesters. Now ok, this made me a LITTLE upset bc I had good grades in this classes- especially world history and math which I had an 98 in. I was most surprised about spanish because I had a 99 in that class. I know, you should feel happy for your friend. I did congratulate her but I still felt sad. This year I am striving for an award but I still can't get over this years. |

Later I met someone (my boyfriend now) and he spent the last two months of lunch with me. My senior year is starting in a couple days and I just found out he has a different lunch than me. I'm honestly dreading being alone again. I know a few people but I wouldn't say we're hang-out buddies, and I'm terrible at making new friends. What can I do? |

Lily really liked this guy, Sam, and she told him, but he didn't like her back. He wasn't rude about it or anything, he just genuinely didn't like her that way. So a few months later Kate told me that she liked Sam and he liked her. Then like a week later he apparently asked her out, and she said yes. Kate only told a few people, not including Lily (who was actually away all summer anyway and just returned). But yesterday night Kate and Lily were talking and Kate told her. Lily was obviously upset because she still likes him, and she called me earlier today telling me about it. I didn't exactly say that I didn't know about it, but I also didn't say that I did know. So now Lily has called me 2 times and texted me asking if I knew about it. I told her that I couldn't talk and would call her later (I was eating dinner). And now I really don't know what to say! If I say that I didn't know, she might go back to Kate and Kate will tell her I did know. But if I say I did know...she's going to be very mad at me (she's pretty sensitive too :/). What should I do? She has recently started to hang around a new group of people , which was fine in the beginning because she would still talk to her usual friends, but soon after she started to get distant. Weeks would go by and we wouldn't hear from her, only to find out that she has been out with the new group of people smoking, getting drunk, etc. Which was hard to believe at first because we've always known her as the sweet, innocent girl we are friends with. When asked about it privately , she confessed that it was true and that she could do better. Of coarse we weren't going to just kick her to the curb , so we continued to be friends with her . But then things started to get very out of hand. She was in a very happy relationship with this guy, and once she started to change towards us she did the same to him. She will be out all times of night with other guys, getting drunk/high as usual, and he isn't sure about what he should do. Now school has started back up and i have a class with her, and one of her groupies that she gets drunk with happens to be in the class too. I have been told that she has tried pills . But i didn't want to ask her because that's personal. But i overheard them talking one day and she mentioned taking pills a few times. It just keeps getting worse and now it has gotten out of control. Whenever we try to tell her this is going too far she just cries and tells us she will stop but continues to do it. |

I learned to ignore the favoritism shown to students who were younger siblings of former cheerleaders or girls who were in her dance class. Anyways there s another girl on JV with me with the same name as I do that was in her dance class so she s liked by the coach better than me. I rarely miss any practice while the girl missed practice frequently. The coach marked me absent the day that she missed and she said I had to run laps for being absent that day and when I told her I wasn t. She didn t believe me and made me run while the other girl with the same name as I do sat down and watched me run with other girls who actually were absent. I m fed up with favoritism now and want to stop it. What should I do? I already told my parents and they said it s my problem. Who should I speak to about this? |

I chose that school because some of my friends from the private school I went to were going to be there and most of the kids from my school were going there. This year I transferred to this other school which is supposedly the fifth best school in Florida but I have no friends this year and its sophomore year so most people have their friend groups set up. Inside it had pictures and mementos of our 10+ years since we became friends in third grade. She's been secretly putting it together and waiting to show me after we graduated high school. Meggie is my best friend, but I did find it a bit odd that she cherishes our friendship so much. It's practically to the point of love. Meggie is usually chill about things, and that's why I hang out with her a lot. To further prove her love (as friends) she gave me a warm hug. We usually hug, but this was pure sincerity. I recently moved to Arizona to finish my high school graduation after some problems came up that is making me graduate very late. one of my friends who I known for about 3 months. that one friend is only 15 about to turn 16 and I kind of find it weird that he would let me stay at his house and he told his mom If I can move in and she said she would think about it. honestly we had a lot of fun times when we hung out and everything. I'm probably immature for my age but age doesn't really matter to me when I make friends or anything except in a legal sense of way and such. I completely understand it's not his decision but his parents and I went to his house and even spent a night there. However that was unexpected because I didn't have a ride back home. His mom likes me a lot but my friend wants to tell them I'm 17 and I do look about 17. I'm a bit skeptical about it. Im feel uneasy because I know his parents will find out someday about my real age. When they first met me they never asked how old I was. Also I'm not entirely sure if its illegal to lie about my age to live under a friends roof. And if they will kick me when/if they find out. Three years ago, I got a new student through my website and for a year gave her personal tuition twice a week. She's very intelligent, has a high powered job, is in her 30s but really struggles with languages. A couple of times during the first year she said that she felt she was making progress (it's the first time she took private classes in her life). I know too she did make progress plus she recommended me to her sister and 2 other friends (for an intensive course). Then, after a year, I asked for a slight inflation adjustment and she became irritated even though it is the norm in the industry to ask for this adjustment. She huffed 'it's a lot of money you know'. Looking back, she had once asked me where all my savings were. My fee is reasonable considering my experience, dedication and success rate. Anyhow, she said 'I'll get back to you about continuing the classes'. I never heard from her and felt quite hurt. Not even a message to say she was discontinuing. Then, out of the blue, this week she sends me a message wanting to know if I'm still in town teaching. I replied, yes, how are you? She replies 'Thanks. I wanted to know how much you charge for classes'. How should I reply to her? Should I continue teaching her and how to let her know I will not stand to be deprecated by my students. Obviously she values my work or wouldn't even consult me. I need advice on the wording of an email. |

We used to be best friends, but now all we do is seem to fight with each other and neither of us trust the other. She recently posted basically a "callout" post on Tumblr (without using my name or anything, but it didn't take an idiot to know that she was specifically bashing me) calling me all sorts of names and hurling insults at me. Rather than try and fight back, I've literally just cut off all possible contact with her. She keeps sending me emails saying she's "sorry" and that she was "being an ***", but I really don't feel like she's sorry and she's just pretending to apologize. She snapped at me and said that she forgave me for something a while back so therefore I'm obligated to forgive her for this. I didn't respond. I haven't responded to anything she's sent me for almost a week and I'm so full of mixed emotions swarming around in my head that I don't know how much longer I can last without taking at least some kind of action. I really want to just drop her as a friend and move on, but when I told her earlier that I didn't think our friendship was working, she accused me of not putting enough effort into our friendship and she basically won't let me back out of the friendship or else she'll publicly blast me for being "inconsiderate" and stuff. I'm new to the district and it's really hard making friends. The main problem is the fact that every class is built for 4 people to a table. Not a single one of my classes make me have 1 on 1 experiences. It sucks because I try to talk to people but they just want to continue talking to their friends. At lunch I have tried sitting with groups/cliques and they always either dont want to talk, don't pay attention to me, or just straight up tell me to leave. Posted: 20 Aug 2015 01:18 PM PDT Today I went for a haircut it's only down the road from where I live so I walked with my friend my mam gave me a fifty euro note and told me not to loose it, I didn't have any pockets so I asked my friend Ciara to put it in hers when we got down there we were sitting down waiting and she started looking in her pockets she said it's not in her pocket I laughed and said yeah right but them she said that she wasn't messing and told me to look I did and it was gone she went back and started looking and the hairdresser called me in she said she lost it. I told her to ring my mam and tell her i lost it my dad had to come down and pay 30€ for my haircut I was so upset because my mam had to work for that money and my friends not gonna pay it back and I got the blame |

| Posted: 20 Aug 2015 01:15 PM PDT So a few days ago someone got a hold of my gmail and started signing it up for porn sites and other inappropriate things. I created another one because can't access that email anymore. but I recently found that all searches are saved to a computer and back up logs and my teacher used to work for the government and knows ways to look at things I've been looking at. But if they look at it and they think I'm doing all these inappropriate things and i get blamed for it. But they will not believe me if I tell them I haven't. So how do I deal with this because my teacher is gonna give them on how she's gonna show them to show what I've all been looking at when I haven't so how do I handle this situation? |

Posted: 20 Aug 2015 01:11 PM PDT Hey guys, I m in highschool and I feel like I ve wasted the last 2 years of highschool. I play basketball and golf and was in a club. I go to the dances. I have no social life outside of school. I have many friends but they just never invite me to hang out. My dad always talks about how him and his friends did lots of fun crazy things but I just sit at home during summer, breaks, weekends. My friends just don t ask me to hang out at all. What can I do to help my social life outside of school? When I ask them to hang out they usually don t want to. I have no other friends to choose from since my school is tiny. So what can I do to make my last 2 years of school great and how can I have a social life? |
| Question: Help people at work think I'm stealing? Posted: 20 Aug 2015 01:05 PM PDT I started my job and almost 3 months ago and am fitting in well. I really didn't have any problems with anyone there until this week. My boyfriend and I have been going through extremely hard times, a lot of times not knowing what we are going to eat or how to get gas to get to work. My work has a vending area that goes on the honor system and some people have tabs of $50 and more. With the hard time we've been having sometimes I have been counting on that to eat during the day and make some sort of payment every two weeks and it hasn't been an issue... Well Tuesday one of the girls had half a bundle of grapes stolen out of the fridge. I was just shocked someone would steal half a bundle of grapes. Well apparently because I was acting shocked because I stole them. Which I did not; With my personality I cant just blow things off and if I was stealing why was I not confronted or whatever. My boss is a huge drama instigator and so I want to go up to the girl who had her grapes stolen and talk to her but idk. |

Whenever she passes me going the other way she waves, usually she sees me first. Few weeks ago she was parked at a bus stop and I was coming towards her and as I checked my right mirror I noticed her waving at me, but in a slow way with a soft look at me. Also on that day when overtaking my bus she looked back and waved at me. A couple of weeks ago we met at the bus terminal on the way to the toilet and she started a conversation with me. She would then talk about her getting into trouble for speeding by management. We were talking for about 5 mins. She said she was running late and needed to use the toilet and had better go. I left to go outside and she then came out after using the toilet and on passing me to get into her bus said she had bad hay fever, again as if initiating something So few days later she was coming towards me on her bus and she pushed her hair up but acted like she didn't see me and ignored me. So couple of weeks ago we both pulled up at bus stops on other side of the road from each other and she looked behind over her shoulder at me and waved. I looked at her but ignored her. So she waved again and again I kept looking but ignored her. She then looked puzzled and waved again and I smile laughed because she kept trying and she then had a little smile and drove off. She's just come back from holiday and when she saw me today she done a circular wave, like enthusiastically, and next day she waved with big smile |

I signed up too late so I couldn't join the event. My friends did sign up on time and now they're having a great time there and I'm sitting bored at home... She just grew really nice boobs and I asked her to send me pictures, but she said she's done sending people pictures because her last bf showed pretty much the whole grade. Before she decided not to send them anymore, my best friend got them from her because they were always close. He's always the one saying how we're best friends and that we're like brothers, but when I asked him for pictures, he wouldn't send them. We were on FaceTime for 2 hours later night and he said he'd send them before I woke up, but he didn't. So I texted him and he just kept saying oh well and changed the subject. I've ignored him since the last time he said oh well and he keeps snapchatting me like we always do, but I'm not responding. Sorry this is so long, but if I were him and his best friend asked for a hot girls pics, I would send them right away, never mind procrastinating. Posted: 20 Aug 2015 12:09 PM PDT Thanks in advance for listening to my "whine"!! :) I want to know, what is the point of seeing a group of former work friends only once a year? I haven t worked with any of them for over 30 years! We have an annual get-together, and again this year, I see no point in going. I m only going because a closer friend wants me to, and is driving. The problem is that I would LIKE to be closer friends with these people, but they show ZERO interest. For example, a few years ago, I asked everyone for their email addresses, just "so we can keep in touch". Deer in the headlights looks all around the table!!! And mostly comments like, "I don t have an email address", or "I forgot my email address", etc. I received just a couple of them, and do not abuse the privilege! Last year I asked another friend if I could "friend" her on Facebook. Lukewarm reply of "I really like to limit the number I have....."!! And lastly, years ago, I suggested getting together more than ONCE A YEAR, and the person I said this to replied, "Oh, yes, but we re all so busy:. Yes, especially too busy for ME!!!! I know for a fact that some of them DO keep in touch over the course of the year. Every time I leave the once a year get-together, I feel down, because I realize they are NOT my real friends. Do you agree it would be best to just STOP the once a year charade? My one friend will just have to understand. (She is an extrovert, while I am definitely more of an introvert.) Thanks so much!! |
