I graduated high school 2 years ago and everyone has now parted ways. I'm still in community college and it's very antisocial. I'm mostly around people that are overweight, tattooed, have multiple piercings, and no goals in their lives. I can't stand being around them. Their bad lifestyles will be a bad influence on me and we have nothing in common. I need to be around better people that focus on looking their best, have a healthy lifestyle, have goals to improve their life, and have interesting hobbies. I put myself out there a lot to meet people but i only find myself with people that would be a bad influence on me. It's very rude to disturb people at the gym so I won't bother mingling there, and i am not interested in any online meetup app or community I just want to know where I can find an environment of people I should be around. I would join clubs but the clubs in my town really suck. |

Recently they all went on a trip behind my back & after they came back the mother of the girl that bullies me is talks to me on Instagram, we even spoke about meeting up at a feast. I went, long story short. I padded on the Mothers arm saying hi Donna, then we hugged, I made like I didn't see her daughter (the girl that bullies me) at all. the girl Karina, then Karina says "wait hello, who is that? Ashley that's you? Oh it's Ashleeey". I turned & she looked kinda in shocked with smiles & I nodded my head & said yeah then I said I gotta go, as I was walking there was awkward silence Donna the mother is like wait. Then I believe Donna is like to Karina you girls blah blah then something like it's her birthday for me. We wind up hugging, I hug Donna again & then Donna kept asking wheres ur uncle? I just kept saying he's down there somewhere, I gotta go to the restaurant. Donnas like u two girls don't have each other on Instagram & Karina is like no we don't we don't talk. I kept trying to leave so I kept hugging Donna & I believe I hug/side hug with Karina two more times & she's all smiles /giggles with wide arms every time we hug but in a phony matter. I was pretty much taller then her I kept looking down kinda at her. I had my hair nice & was dress really nice. I feel stupid. One girl, Ava, is one of the least popular in the group but still everyone likes her. We are all in high school so you can get an age range by the way. Ok so Ava one day talked behind my back a couple years ago and we had a little fight cause I thought that was mean but it didn't last very long anyways, well the beginning of last year she was really rude to me. I felt like she was jealous of me because she wasn't very well off in terms of money and me being the new girl with all the friends maybe she was jealous. I ended up staying her friend even though she didn't want to be mine, and one day everything was good again. I just went To our school and I made eye contact through the window with her and once I got inside she turned completely around and never smiled or made any gesture to say hi or be nice. So I walked away. I don't know if she is jealous or what but I'm tired of her acting rude to me when I'm just trying to be nice and friendly. I have never had any other problems with other friends and i dont really have anyone that dislikes me, I'm not really a rude person, I'm kinda shy and keep to my self but I like to have fun and hang out with friends too. One day the girl called me a ***** in the bathroom so I cursed her out because I had enough. Later on that day my friend called me saying that the other girl's mom called her and asked my best friend to talk to me so that I would leave her daughter alone. And she also told me things that the girl and her mother said. So then the mother filed a bullying report on me and I found out that my best friend was telling me what the other girl said and also she was telling the other girl what I was saying. My dad told me that she wasnt my friend because she would not have told the other girl what I was saying or tell me what the other girl was saying so he told me that he didnt want me to talk to her anymore. I cut her off without explanation due to her excessive bossiness, clinginess, rudeness, and taking advantage of me. She has tried to reach out again. A part of me wants to be brutally honest and explain why I do not wish to have her in my life. The other part says keep ignoring her because I know it'll hurt her and she has self destructive tendencies. She doesn't know I know this, but she also lied and told people I was promiscuous, a heavy drinker etc. Part of me wants to call her out on that. We have been friends for five years. Every year since I have known her I have celebrated my birthday and she has only come to one of them which was dinner and the club but she just came to the dinner. The other times she couldn't come was because she was on holiday to see family which is fair enough. Now this year I turned 25 and I have been discussing my birthday with her for the past few months as she is one of my closest friends and she knew how excited I was picking an outfit and everything for my birthday. On the day of my birthday party she said to me that her outfit has not arrived yet as she ordered it online. I said to her you could wear anything else in case it does not come she said she doesn't want to wear anything else due to the fact that she has taken pictures in them in the past. So have delivery did not come in because of that she did not come to my birthday party which really hurt my feelings I don't know what I should do should I cut her off because she did not make any effort at all and I always attend her birthdays and her events but she barely attends to mine. I feel like she is a fake friend because of this which is sad because I really do like her as a friend but my gut instinct is telling me to cut ties with her as I feel that I bent over backwards for her but I don't get the same treatment. I mean genuine conversation starters, I have one I normally use, which is, to give them a compliment on something they have and ask where they got it, and then boom, conversation. However, I can't use that same line with everyone or people will start to think I'm fake and I need something else like that to say because I'm going to a new school and really want to make new friends, but everyone already knows each other. What about at lunch? Am I supposed to sit alone? The worst part is what if I am in classes where everyone else knows eachother so they can't make room for me as part of their group? I'm not a good converser anyway. I don't really know how to start a good conversation. I can't just come up to someone and say "Did you see that new movie?" However with friends, you can't keep a friends at your side unless you talk or else your boring and they move on. I'm also worried about getting around. My school has 9 floors and its all so complicated. The rooms are even named by their direction (north, south, east, west). More complicated than any school I've gone too. And it doesn't take much intelligence or empathy to know it's something impossible to do alone. That's an excellent point, .. Really does show how few of my " friends " really are " friends " .. I feel like venting in a group message to make them feel bad .. do you think I should or not? Might lose some of them in the process but really don't care at this point, especially regarding those who said they'd be glad to help, but then came up with excuses not to. I find it very difficult to believe that only 1 of them had even a few hours to help during a 2+ month period. In a nutshell Hurricain, I needed help organizing my belongings which I keep in a storage unit due to lack of space at my apartment. Many of my local friends are students, like me but I was offering money & food as compensation. A few might have been taking summer classes but they couldn't possibly have been busy 24/7 The only friend that helped was grateful for lunch and sincerely apologized for not being able to help more .. it's a miracle even she did, having to drive nearly 2 hours each way. |

He literally has been using that same excuse for years. He deactivated his facebook years ago but will reactivate periodically and like a photo that is from like 2006. He will message me on face book. He is constantly just goodling me. On their Instagram page bio, some of my friends have their snapchat usernames. I added them, and started to follow me. But here comes a problem. I start snapchating them something real basic, and open it with no reply. I look for something even more interesting that will get them to reply back to me, guess what, STILL NOTHING. I m assuming that I m not really that close to them or maybe the snap isn t drawing an interest to them, etc.? But if there not that close to me, then why did they add me? It seems useless. I had moved in with my close friend of 7 years with his grandparents for college. Everything was set up and ready to go for school. After the first week I went home to see my family for my birthday. I got a call from my friend and he told me he had quit his job and was thinking about moving back to our hometown and going to a lesser college at his old job. I should note we live in a small town with little oportunity and ways to progress in life. Back on track, I asked him if we could talk about this dicision first since it affected both of us. He said no, and told me he d have an answer for me soon. He decided to move back. Hos grandparents would not let me stay with them without him so I was forced to move back as well. My friend will not tell me his reasons for his decision and it cost me and my family about $1400 dollars for the furniture we bought for the both of us, as a token of good faith for the free housing he provided me. The only reason I m even considering rebuilding this friendship is because a couple of our close friends are in a tight spot for having us two separated. One day at summer camp this girl started telling everybody my business. I told him about it because I tell him everything. I also gave him the girl's number. I asked if he could ask her why she did it because the girl blocked me and was obviously ignoring me. He texted the girl and she came off as rude so he said sorry and backed off. Around two weeks later his mom checked his phone and found out what happened. They took away his phone and said he's not allowed to talk to me anymore and he should learn to mind his own business. On my take off this, I felt heartbroken and his parents knew that we are close friends. They should've at least accounted that he was just doing a friendly thing, but I also take full responsibility since I sort of forced him to do so. We are going to different school this school year and my only way to contact him is through the phone or online. He still wants to talk online but I don't want to risk it and get him in more trouble. Is there any way I could fix this? He and I both think his parents made a mistake but I believe I am the one to blame. |

I have never had a romantic relationship that lasted longer than 1 year. I'm a 25 year old female. My dad is the only family member I have, but he is elderly. I'm mostly around people that are overweight, tattooed, have multiple piercings, and no goals in their lives. I don't like the people I am around. Their bad lifestyles will be a bad influence on me and we have nothing in common. I am done with them and they make me look bad. I need to be around better people that focus on looking their best, have a healthy lifestyle, have goals to improve their life, and have interesting hobbies. I put myself out there a lot to meet people but i only find myself with people that would be a bad influence on me. It's very rude to disturb people at the gym so I won't bother mingling there, and i am not interested in any online meetup app or community I just want to know where I can find an environment of people I should be around. I would join clubs but the clubs in my town really suck. I am not going to leave town and i already go to school. I need to be around better people. |
