Question: How do I tell a close friend they aren't invited to my wedding? Posted: 11 Aug 2017 08:06 PM PDT My friend isn't exactly all put together in the head and my husband doesn't like her what-so-ever. She's my only friend but I agree that it would be a very bad idea for her to be there. She's rude though she can't help it and doesn't know she's doing it. She elected herself to be Maid of Honor as soon as she found out I was engaged, before I could tell her my sister was going to be under that title. I love her to death, I really do, but I can't have my wedding spoiled. I would definitely invite her if I knew she wouldn't be trouble, but even if I asked her not to behave, she doesn't know when she is being rude so that wouldn't help. My wedding is going to be purely family. I have a large family (my mom the youngest of 10 and my dad has 6 siblings) so we will have about 65 people at the wedding altogether. I don't have any other friends to invite but I can't tell her it's for family only because she knows I consider her to be my sister. Even if she was blood I couldn't invite her because I would have to take care of her the entire time and not get to spend it with my husband, which defeats the purpose of everything. We thought about just doing a lone wedding but as he is an only child and my little sister may never marry due her inability to speak it would crush our parents not to see us married. Please don't be mean about my not inviting her, I already feel evil. I just want the day to be special and it won't be if she is there, as bad as I want her to be able to come. *asked her to behave* is what I meant, sorry. |
Question: Out of state wedding etiquette? Posted: 11 Aug 2017 01:26 PM PDT Hi! I am from NY but my fiancé and I would like to get married in a sentimental location in VA. I know most of my family will not travel for the wedding. My question is: do I have a reception once I get home in NY To celebrate or no reception at all? |
Question: Is it weird to wear your wedding dress for captain's night on a honeymoon cruise? Posted: 11 Aug 2017 06:53 AM PDT I am getting married soon and going on a cruise for our honeymoon. Is it weird to wear your wedding dress to the formal night even though we didn't get married on the ship? |
