I just can no longer handle the stress of it all he has 5 years all I did the first year was cry and worry about how my daughter would make it without her dad by the second year the stress of trying to make each visit and answer every phone call so my daughter could talk to her father was just pure maddening at this point I cant take it I tried to be that person that would be there no matter what but were not married so I made no oath to God or anyone else....I just need to know how to tell him I care about him and he s already it a bad place I wouldn t want to make it worse but if I have to rip the bandaid off i will what do I say?

I've always looked up to my dad because my mother was never around and he raised me alone so that I could have a life. He always made sure I had everything I needed and tried to make me happy. I am who I am today because of him. He was always there for me and helped me when I needed him. He is hardworking and always loved me. Eventhough we don't have the same interests in the same things always and don't see eye to eye sometimes, like sports and cars, he is still a pretty cool guy and we are very close. I always admired him because he is a strong hardworking man who done the best he could for me. He cares about his appearance and how he looks and has alot of confidence and self esteem. He doesn't care what others think and I love how he is just himself. He tucks his t shirts in and wears a slicked back ponytail and just has his own personal style that makes him who he is. He used to be in a band and played guitar and other instruments. He is kinda like my best friend and we get long better than anybody else i've ever known.

So, my sister is 28 years old. She lives 14 minutes away from my parents house. She didn't move out or even live independently until she was 24 years old. She often needs to ask my mom for money and sometimes doesn't even give it back to her. Is this normal? I caught her stealing 20 dollars from her or my mom giving her several hundred dollar bills and not giving them back. Is this normal?

My mom tends to pressure me about studying and getting into a good school so that I can become a doctor for her. I understand that she means well and she only wants what's best for me, but she always tells me this a lot and it stresses me out. She makes me study everyday whenever I'm on break. She never gave me a day off from studying. (She even made me study on my birthday.) She also compares me to my sister that is in college. My sister studies from the moment she wakes up until she goes to sleep (7am to 11pm). My sister is miserable and doesn't understand some of the concepts that she is learning so I usually explain some of the stuff to her. I thought that being able to understand college textbooks was a pretty good achievement for an eighth grader, but apparently it isn't to my mother. She said that I had to be smart, so reading college textbooks should be nothing. I would understand her making me study extra during breaks if I was failing all my classes, but I am a straight A student. I have done everything to make her proud such as getting honer roll every year. I hate that she always pressures me and reminds me that I should be a doctor. I always dreamed of working as an archaeologist and when I told her that, she said that she would die if I became anything other than a doctor/anything in the medical field. I just want her to be proud of me, support me no matter what I do, and not put me under so much stress and pressure. What do I do?

My son is 18 and has always been this way. He is extremely introverted and is always alone. He finished School 2 months ago and will be going to University this September and in the 2 months he hasn't left the house at all. I can't tell if my son just enjoys being alone or whether he has some form of mental health issue. He barely interacts with me or any of his siblings. When our immediate family come to visit he hides away upstairs. He never goes anywhere with us and when we go on family vacations for the weekend he prefers to stay home. He doesn't eat with us and never asks for anything from us. It just makes no sense to me how an 18 year old can enjoy being stuck in a tiny room alone with nothing to do. He came out as gay a few years back but it turned out that everyone else knew about it for years before he told his own mother. He always seems extremely cold an emotionless. If I say something funny he will try to hide and conceal a smile and it's as if he doesn't want us to see what he feels. He always needs to be alone. He has his own room for the most part of the year but when his older brother comes home for a few months each year He then has to share his room with his brother and he becomes even more frustrated. He ends up sleeping on the couch and sitting in the bathroom for hours just to avoid being around anyone. I'm not sure if he is just introverted or maybe suffering with some form of mental illness.

Im 29 now , taking care of my two elderly grandparents, now they aren't able to take care of themselves, my brother lives in the house, i lived here now since he doesnt want to help. The DSS took my sister's baby and he now is in the car of foster parents, I believe. The baby has some health issues so he wouldn't be able to go to a daycare and that's the ONLY reason I'm not a good candidate to attain guardianship, but we're looking to give that to my Mom. The baby is also still in the NICU and because we live in another state, we want to get him transferred as well. It's only been a week, but we just don't know where to start.

Hey guys my 10 year old little brother recently has wanted to be alone, this has been going on for the last month and a half, I hear him crying a lot and I try to comfort him but his door is locked and won't talk when I ask him what's wrong, I'm very concerned about him, I just want to hold him so bad because he's been isolating himself and crying, and cries himself to sleep, and he will wake up at like 1 in the morning and cry, my parents homeschooled him, because that's all he did in school was want to be alone and cry. My mom wants me t o not do anything but stay at home and take are of her kid while she works. Originally when I was younger, (20) I'm 22 now and I was not doing anything at that time and had no goals so I was fine with it. But now there are things I want to do. I wan my own life, I love my siblings and try are the only reasons why I am still here. But I just can't not live with her like this anymore and let my life pass me by. My biggest hurdle is that I am disabled, I am visually impaired I feel as though my mom did not teach me how to drive not only because o m visual limitations, but so that she would feel better thinking that I had "no way out". I even enrrold in online college to be able to be at home and help her. I am not doing that well I schoo and have decided to withdraw, I have not told her this yet! But I want. Alright, anyway I put this i'll sound like a complete spoiled brat but I can not stand mashed potatoes.. Yesterday my parents made me meatloaf peas and mashed potatoes now, I ate the meatloaf and peas easily and tried to eat the mashed potatoes I gagged but nonetheless I swallowed it down... I didn't want anymore so I started to think how selfish I was and how people all over the world are starving so I took another bite I gave up it tasted horrible the clumps keep making me gag.. My parents said "You could put it away but don't eat anything else in the house" I've been stuck with a headache that day fast foward to this day! I woke up stomach empty head pounding and made myself some oatmeal as I finished the oatmeal and put it in the sink to clean it out it hit me.. I wasn't supposed to eat that I felt a shock of disbelief I felt horrible I disobeyed my parents. So mom found out, yelled at me and I am here starving.. The obvious answer is to eat mashed potatoes and end my suffering but I absolutely despise it, I usually eat whatever my parents throw at me disgusting or not I'd eat it but just not this particular food. NO! THESE MASHED POTATOES WILL NOT DOMINATE ME. I am going to eat them it doesn't matter how much I throw up I am sick of starving.. Thank you for your answers guys it gave me confidence to do this It didn't go well at all.. You see, when the mashed potatoes are first cooked they taste really good I have no problem eating them but I didn't want them because I was full because of the last meal so I saved it for later.. Shortly after our parents retired, our mother passed away. My father decided to sell the three houses he owned to my siblings and I. 9 years into our 15 year mortgages he met a woman 20 years younger than him. A couple years later, they got married and ended up living with me in my house. 6 years later, my father passed and she immediately told us we need to vacate the homes because she is planning to sell them all. Turns out, he lied to her all those years and thought he owned the houses. She tried to sue claiming we had committed fraud and her case was dismissed. I've always considered her a gold digger and find great joy in the fact she's left with a negative balance on the whole arrangement. Is it wrong if me or did she basically get what she deserved?

I still have questions for my dad, which may never be answered... Questions like... After fulling his wedding vows to my mom, until death do you part... Raising his kids in a proper, stable household ss s married couple with kids, with both a mom and a dad... Being a liberal... And being from New York and New Jersey.. Why would he go to other parts the country, particularly conservative regions, and parts of various states... And hook up with these conservative women, all who had quite messed up lives.. Who he has nothing in common with. And then going to California, to hook up with a liberal woman who he also has little in common with... Because she's too liberal ? Only to die alone of cancer, in hospice care never achieving that secondary, old age marriage ?

Just a bit of background to show you what I m going through: -My mom and dad are married -My dad has lost his job last year and has been at home ever since -My mom has been sacrificing so much and trying to pay his debt. -I really love both of them and dint want anything to happen to them -My parents are old (Age 58 and 66) A couple of months ago my dad asked me to help him with something on his phone but when sorting the problem out I went into his Facebook messenger and saw he was sending message to the women and telling them that they look stunning and stuff. Most of them never replied but it still bothered me, I eventually forgot about it. I deleted some of the chats so that it wouldn t get further. I don t think he even realised that they stop replying because it so freaking weird and it makes him look dumb. Today the same situation happened and I saw he has been doing the same crap. And this really made me angry and I don t know what to do. My dad and I don t have the best relationship, we aren t the ones who would speak about sensitive topics or get into emotional issues. This whole thing gets to me so much because I m the only one who knows about it and my mother does so freaking much for him and it s like he has no shame. I really need help with this, I don t know how to confront him about it.

They are age 14 and 11 they are lazy often spend their free time on computers and gaming not even socialise with people in real life or have any outside hobbies. I am 21 year old my self i am working part time job helping my parents pay off the mortage ,house work and looking after our two adult shih tzu family dogs . I told my parents they need to encourage boys ro help bit around home and maybe help with daily dog walking and bit of grooming the only response i get only women does house work ( i am girl ) and boys will be boys and once they reach 18yrs old they will be kick out . Any way i can encourage my younger brothers to help oit a bit ? I dont want them to rely on mother and me to clean everything and after them . My stepfather its same he does work but rarely helps with house work or looking after house dog as after work he usually spends his time on tv or smartphone for 5 hrs ... even during weekend he has free days he yet he wont help. I m a mother to a 17 year old son who is overall a good kid , he does everything he s supposed to at home ( wash the dishes , take out the Garbage, etc. ) and also comes home with a 90 or above school average, and is always home by the time that I tell him to . There s only one problem , he smokes a lot of weed. I know everyone always downplays weed as it is not as harmful as other drugs or even drinking and I ve done my share as a teenager but I worry about him out there in the streets smoking while it is still illegal in New York State ! We have a very close and open relationship and I have known that he has been smoking for a while now but I feel almost guilty if I condone it , so recently I changed my mind and said I need to stop worrying about putting our relationship in jeapordy and be a mother , and I told him he needs to stop and I would start to drug test him regularly. He didn t react so well and continues to try and convince me it s not bad because he doesn t do anything else wrong , it s hard to argue with but it still doesn t feel right, I feel as though he should at least slow down but I also feel like I can t go back on what I ve said now

My mom says I work for the government, engage in lewd and illegal acts, am on a high-level committee to assuage abuse, and got slapped by corrupt CIA agents in an FBI office. She also says she was told that substances were found in my blood at my last annual checkup but that she can't tell me who told her for their safety. If this weren't bad enough, last year she insisted the way I pronounced 'p' and 'b' was lewd and had lesbian overtones, the same year she kept accusing me of working for the government and said that I had been had and any contract I signed was invalid. I know this isn't normal but what should I do? Worse I'm studying a degree program overseas and she's becoming more erratic with tuition, rent, etc. My part time jobs cover food and utilities. I'm worried I'll get stuck here and she'll get worse and something bad could happen. Does this sound like mental illness or ambient/stealth abuse? What should I do? How do I get back to the United States? Is this a mental health issue or does it sound more like ambient abuse (it's kind of like gaslighting)? How do I get out of here now? If I overstay my visa because of her I can get arrested in this foreign country. That's dangerous. What do I do? How do I get back to the United States? What should I do about her? If she acts on any of this stuff I may not be legally liable but I'll be morally responsible because I know some thing's wrong now. How her mental condition affects me:I can't even afford to get home let alone tuition. I came here because like everyone else my parent was paying for it (mom), but now she's acting like she's going crazy and paying tuition late, rent late, everything else, late. Hello. My younger brother is 14 years old and I'm 16 years old. My brother has ADHD, and I think he's narcissistic, because he thinks highly of himself and brags a lot. ("Oh, I was the only one who scored all the goals today when I play with my friends. None of them scored. " "I'm the best at this game, I got 100 kills and 0 deaths.") My brother has extreme anger issues. If he doesn't get his way, he'll yell at the top of his lungs and throw things at me. (He once threw a cup of hot coffee on me. My skin burned and the shards of glass caused it to bleed.) He even pushes my 6 year old sister, and hits us both. He's childish and impatient. Once my sister had two fidget spinners. She wanted the regular one and gave the light up one to my brother. My brother yelled and threw a tantrum because he wanted the regular one. After lots of crying, my sister finally gave up the one she wanted. If only my brother was as mature as she is. My brother has no respect. He knows my insecurities and uses it against me. He calls me pimply face, fat (I used to think I was skinny, but he's right, I'm 102 which I had no idea I was. I thought I weighed less, but I was wrong), he calls me stupid, lazy (I do all the cleaning), useless, and once he cried saying he wanted me to die. He said he'll be so much happier if I died. He's addicted to using my mom's tablet. I keep telling him no because videogames are bad for him, but he'll yell and cry and stomp and hit me. He'll do all these crazy things like mess up my room, throw my stuff out the window, and scream until the neighbors rush in. My parents won't do anything because they gave up. My mom doesn't care, my dad allows him to do what he wants. What makes it worse is they both work 6 days a week for long hours. I'm stuck cleaning and taking care of my siblings at those times. It's stressful because I act as a parent, and no one listens to me. I'm nothing but a useless doormat. You can step on me all you want and wipe your damn feet on me because that's what I am—a filthy doormat. I take care of everything. I registered us for school, I do the cleaning, I bake for those ungrateful brats, and much more. I love my sister to pieces, and I care about my brother, but they have no respect for me. NONE. They call me dog, pig, hideous, monster. I've even relapsed on my 3 month streak. I can't take it anymore. I tried putting my brother into therapy, calling the police, threatening to send him to military school, and every thing you could imagine. Nothing worked. I'm really stressed out. I get random chest and kidney pain and huge chunks of my hair falls out. I want to end it all, and OD again, I don't care if it's painful. What can I do? I'm a 13 year old boy and I can't go anywhere alone after around 8:30pm. Same thing for my twin sister. My parents are more protective of me because they think I'm less responsible then her. They keep telling me about kids who get trafficked on the Internet because their parents might've not monitored them. In fact they said I can come on here and ask if my parents are really that bad. It's really annoying sometimes cuz all my friends are allowed to do stuff! My sister is a bit more trusted because my parents think shes more serious about safety. They keep saying that, "as legal authorities,we should give kids freedoms based on what they can handle. If we just gave you something because your sibling has that,or just because you wanted it then its called bad parenting. That can result to potential risks and blah blah blah".

Foster kids are very likely to not stay in the same home they were in years ago. Sometimes they move around so much that they don't have time to adjust. This means that they will experience MANY different parenting styles throughout their childhood - parents who are too strict, hardworking ones, supportive ones, and ones who don't give a crap what the kids are doing online or at night. Wouldn't they have to get used to their new surroundings often? Imagine switching parents with entirely different rules within a few months to years! Sometimes they might get attached to foster parents who really care about them but they have to leave for another place to go.

My fiance and I have been together for a year now and got engaged a few months ago, I have never met someone else like him. I'm spending the rest of my life with this person whether I like it or not and I sure do like it(: theres nothing more in the world I want right now than to start a family with him The situation; I'm living at home with my widowed mother and her psychopathic boyfriend who puts my safety and mental health at risk all the time. Been wanting to get a restraining order on him for some time now but id rather wait until I leave my moms house. My fiance is with his mom and soon to be on his own, his grandpa passed recently and left a load of money to his grandkids for housing/apartments/education and scrictly for those reasons only. I want a child so that my family can truly begin along with life in general. I'm onto my senior year of high school, which I am in credit recovery for since I got my party phase over with early. I will be doing online classes that I can work on day and night at school and home. I'm going to be graduating early due to this and will be going to college. My question is, can I do this? Will it affect my future in terms of happiness, or wealth? I love my family and they all love me, he and I are bound for life and his family is my family. He works full time with good pay and can support the family on his own let alone help from heritage Should I do this. ?

So I smoke weed. Not excessively. Just once or twice a month and maybe once in a while a few times in between on special occasions. I see nothing wrong with doing it once in a while. Ive done it crazy a lot before. Like multiple times a day. I know the bad sides of it and the fun sides of it. Im 23 btw. Now my mother is a very Christian, godly woman. Never is she crazy hypocritical like some people. Shes a concerned mom. She totally disagrees with it. She doesnt believe you should be doing anything that alters the mind. She also thinks im spending so much money on it. I have been paying bills and giving her money. If anything, im only spending 20 to 30 a month on it. But recently i got busted, AGAIN, for doing it by her. So she wants me out. I sorta want to leave cause im not in the mindset right now to quit cause she wants me to. Am i choosing weed over her? I dont think so. Im not ruining my life by doing it. But my other solution would be to try again not to, if i really cant, ill just pack my stuff n go. If i tried again not to, I d want to get counselling. Maybe it ll shed some light? I know she wants good for me. Being successful and getting my life together, (especially with God)But cant i do both? I have been doing what i need to do while smoking. I just cant understand how shes just so strong about it. We always help each other through a lot and we've been friends for a long one and have a special bond. She's always so loving and supportive and very blunt haha. I post on Facebook quite a bit (not crazy) but I've been stressed and I will post once or twice about it, one of them was that I was terribly sick and had to go to the doctor.. I do my chores and homework without being told I get good grades in school mainly B's yet I can't play videogames in my free time but when I watch a mindless tv show or movies all day he says nothing about it he even bother me about it on the weekends. I also go outside for like 3 hours a day to I'm not always playing them it's really getting on my nerves

My brother that's 19 has been having problems with these guys at his job. My parents suggested that he report it to management but they did nothing. It has actually gotten worse. They want to fight him on their lunch break. I want to come up there and help him fight them but he doesn't want me to. I understand that he sees me as his little brother (I'm 17) but I'm taller and probably stronger than him now. I just need him to understand that he needs my help because I doubt there is anyone going to help him fighting them.

I'm 16 so I still live with my parents. After some research I decided I wanted to go "zero" trash (quotations because I obviously wont be completely trash free.) I told my parents and they don't take me seriously. I don't blame them such a big change to a lifestyle can be hard to jump on board with. They think that I just being a stupid teenager and that I wont stick with it. I asked them politely and even said that just cause I'm trash free doesn't mean they have to be. Okay, so I'm 17 years old. I have a 15 year old brother and a 23 year old brother. My 23 year old brother also has his girlfriend (21) living with us. My younger brother has been spending way too much time with his older brother and his girlfriend. He's even sent friends home so he can spend time with our older brother. Whenever he's home from school, he's with them. More recently, my younger brother and the girlfriend have been spending time alone together. My parents definitely do not approve of that. There was a huge argument based around that and my younger brother has been very defiant. About 2 months ago, both my parents told me that the three of them were spending too much time together, but they did nothing to stop it. Last week, my mom told me she regrets not doing anything. My parents have come up with several plans to try to stop this, but ultimately ended up backing out of them. I tried telling them that if they don't do something, two months from now they will say the same thing. Everybody I've talked to thinks that my parents should do something. But they're not so convinced. They want to see things out. I've noticed strange behavior between the girlfriend and my younger brother that may suggest something is going on. Obviously that would be illegal, but my parents don't want to look into it. I'm worried about what may happen the longer my parents wait. I don't know what to do. His mother is so crazy that most of the time I cannot stand her. She is so so sick in healthy food and is always scared of any illness. She doesn't eat meat, she constantly eats raw onion, garlic, tomatoes everyday. She almost force us to eat what she eats and tries to stop our eating habit even though we dont eat junk food. She don't use anything chemical such as shampoo, dish washing liquid, etc. To her everything can cause cancer. Having said those u may thing she is very hygiene but nooooo. She lives in a mess, her room is horrible, when she is at home the kitchen is in a messy condition as if there were a group of kids just made cakes. I am a neat and tidy person, I love living in a tidy house. When she was away I clean the house so well and everytime when she is back, they r in a mess. Besides, she treats my bf as a child and she blames on me for any food I bring that she thinks are not good for him. She is quite rude sometimes as well. Everytime she tells me about something "To not do to my bf", she says "do not tell him that I tell u". I am really tired of staying at his place. Sometimes I think if I should break up with him or not but I love him dearly and he is so good to me as well. If I leave him because of his mother I don't know how he will react. My crush and I really like each other he constantly tracks me down and seems to chase me a lot but he always approaches me at the wrong time. My mom says I work for the government, engage in lewd and illegal acts, am on a high-level committee to assuage abuse, and got slapped by corrupt CIA agents in an FBI office. She also says she was told that substances were found in my blood at my last annual checkup but that she can't tell me who told her for their safety. If this weren't bad enough, last year she insisted the way I pronounced 'p' and 'b' was lewd and had lesbian overtones, the same year she kept accusing me of working for the government and said that I had been had and any contract I signed was invalid. I know this isn't normal but what should I do? Worse I'm studying a degree program overseas and she's becoming more erratic with tuition, rent, etc. My part time jobs cover food and utilities. I'm worried I'll get stuck here and she'll get worse and something bad could happen. Does this sound like mental illness or ambient/stealth abuse? What should I do? How do I get back to the States? Is this a mental health issue or does it sound more like ambient abuse (it's kind of like gaslighting)? How do I get out of here? I can't finish my studies if she won't pay the tuition. She's in America and I'm here a few weeks away from an expired visa with no tuition and no plane fare. If she had been acting like this when I decided to come I never come here. I don't have airfare or tuition to finish on my own. She is acting like that + being erratic with bills.My two biggest fears are this:1)she needs help and now2)I'm stuck over here miles and oceans away from home when my visa expires in a couple of weeks with no tuition to extend it or plane fare to get out from her and no way to pay for either myself.

I've been out of school for a couple years and working a retail job that's close to full time. It's not by any means a high paying job, but I do enjoy it. However, I feel my parents are dropping hints that I should be going to school along with working. I did pretty well in high school, but I sometimes think they're exaggerating my academic abilities. They keep telling me stories about people in the family who worked their way through school by doing evening classes. I always tell them that I'm trying to save up and that I really don't have time to devote myself to academics with what I'm doing. My sister keeps giving me a hard time about how I'm still living at home and has a tendency to instigate. My parents don't ask me to pay rent, but I do try my best to help out with cooking and cleaning to make sure I'm doing my fair share. So my question is, is it okay to be 20-21 and still not ready for school?

He's 18 years old and he's huge, so i can't hit him back or yell. He has anger issues. He's mean to my mom also. What my mom does isn't showing him he can't put his hands on me or yell at me. What's especially annoying is that my brother is moved out and that's completely okay. We always help each other through a lot and we've been friends for a long one and have a special bond. She's always so loving and supportive and very blunt haha. I even sent her a letter like I do only at important times, wishing her well as I know her health is not doing well. So do these same people think that dads should just never be single parents of daughters? No matter what the circumstances are? Like even if the mother is dead or abandoned the family? Hello, I'm 14 years old and last night I wasn't raped. It was in my own house. I'm gonna go to the hospital tommorow without my parents. I'm visiting my dad right now. And my mom is 2000km away at the moment. My rapist was the neighbors son. I'm scared to tell my parents because they are friends with the neighbors and I'd be scared of messing up their relationship. I want to tell my mom asap but I'm worried about her reaction. And I'm pretty sure she'd tell my dad immediately after too. I don't want my dad to find out until I'm back at my mums so I don't have to be around a hostile environment. Should I just call my mum and tell her outright and that I'd prefer my father doesn't know unless I decide to press charges? Or should I wait to tell her in person in four days? My dad has a brain injury he s been this way for a very long time, years infact. From the time I was 2 to the time I was 15 he had a serious drug addiction which stopped aside from pain pills he takes (he s had a lot of major surgeries/pain) my mom has stayed by his side regardless of him not always treating her right she s felt with a lot of mental abuse but stays because she loves him but also because marriage is in sickness and in health. He isn t always mentally abusive and he wasn t a horrible father my siblings and I do have good memories but a lot of really bad ones too. He doesn t treat my mother right she s very secluded and depressed all the time. Recently he took meth ended up in the hospital with kidney failure my mom told him if it continues she ll leave but he has lied about stopping in the past. He was sober for 5 years until now. My siblings want to get together and see if we can talk her into leaving my dad for her well being but I m afraid if she does that he ll commit suicide or get more into drugs as my siblings have cut ties with him aside from myself. I know he is not a completely bad person but he is a bad person sometimes and I m having a really hard time with if I should join my siblings in asking her to leave. I don t think my mom deserves this kind of life but I also don t hate my dad. I know his brain injury causes a lot of anger and he doesn t have good judgment.
