Question: Would it bother you if your in laws bought your child all of their first stuff? Posted: 06 Aug 2017 03:34 PM PDT I don't know if I'm overreacting here or not but it really bothers me that my mother in law keeps buying my toddler all of his first stuff. I have to live with her for awhile and so she sneaks off to the store and will come back with furniture or a tricycle that she chose for him without even asking me. I get no say in what any of it looks like. I had this dream of setting up my son's first room and buying him his first tricycle and toys and such...but she sneaks off and does it all instead. Am I right to be upset? I can't seem to talk to her about it, I've tried. She smiles in my face then does it all anyway.
Question: Is he trying to keep a hold on me? Posted: 06 Aug 2017 02:35 PM PDT We broke up last April. He made it clear that he was withdrawing from the relationship & he didn't even have the guts to finish it face to face at the age of 32. He was selfish & can't handle being responsible for anyone, but at the same time why has he text me every month or 2 since we broke up? He still wanted to be affectionate with me & he hasn't been dating. He's a bit of a loner & likes his space. He tries to find out how I am & if I'm single. The other day I blocked him & he wanted me to unblock him. When I unblocked him he text me a week later "You didn't have to! :p" What does he want? When I tried to find out, the most I could get out of him is that he just thinks about me sometimes.

Posted: 06 Aug 2017 02:00 PM PDT I m living in supported living at the moment and at somepoint i m going to be moving into shared accommodation, so i need to know: what are the good and bad things about living with other people in shared accommodation? |
Question: Chaldean girl dating black guy, and my family hates me for it. What should I do? Posted: 06 Aug 2017 12:58 PM PDT I am a 21 year old Chaldean female and am currently dating a black guy I met at my university. Once my family found out, they flipped on me. My dad pulled me by my hair and threw me out the house, calling me a b*tch and a discrace the family. They found out because some people who know my family saw me and my boyfriend while we were out and told my mom. Now I'm living with him, it's been 2 days...hoping my family will get over it. But I can't leave my boyfriend. We love each other and he truly cares for me. He also has goals in life, and he's on the basketball team at our school. He's not a loser and not what they think he is, they just hate him because of his skin color. I can't stand it. My mom freaked out and asked why I choose black guys and why I can't just date boys of my own race, which I have before! But it just didn't work out, and I just happen to be attracted to black guys since I dated one in high school. Something about their swag and confidence just gets me. Also their features, deep voices, and their athletic bodies. Plus, the sex is amazing. And if you're in love it's even better. I can't help it, who wouldn't date what they like? My boyfriend and I have been together almost a year now, and it's been great. Why should I make myself miserable and leave him because my family hates him and doesn't even know him? I love my family but this is stressful, and I don't think I will have their support anytime soon.. what am I supposed to do??

Question: Why does he want to talk even when I blocked him? Posted: 06 Aug 2017 10:59 AM PDT We broke up so long ago, but when I asked why he still contacts me he tried to avoid the question, so I blocked him. Eventually he said he just thinks about me sometimes & is he still blocked. He's been trying to find out if I'm single, joking around about me having a bf and telling me about his new place. I said "I don't know why you still think about me when you didn't want to stay with me. (He was selfish & scared of commitment. Liked his own space). A week later (today) he sent me a message that I didn't have to unblock him, with a cheeky face next to it. What does he want?

Posted: 06 Aug 2017 09:51 AM PDT I am 15 years old and my boyfriend is as well. Him and his father work on their farm, and just finished building their new house there, and plan to move to the farm in a few weeks. He didn't live in the same town as me in the beginning, he lived in the town next to mine, which is about 8 minutes by car. But once he moves to his new house he will be about 30-45 minutes away by car, which isn't ideal, but there's nothing I can do. However, when he turns 16 this coming October, he will be getting his farmers license which allows him to drive. He has yet to meet my parents, because im nervous of what they will think of him (I've never brought a guy home before), and they are very Christian. We would usually hangout around my town, since he lived so close, but now that is impossible which forces me to have him meet my parents. I haven't obtained the courage to directly talk to my mom about it, but I don't want it to be too late (I don't want him to meet my parents when he's able to drive; I think it will look bad). He will still go to my school, his parents are paying the tuition. I just want to know the first thing I should do in a situation like this, because I'm at a loss. I don't wanna give up, I really like him. Should he meet my parents first? I don't want to sneak around. Any thoughts on how to handle a situation like this?

Question: How should i deal with my bf? Posted: 06 Aug 2017 08:20 AM PDT My bf is 21 and lately he's been using up his time doing research on the illuminati and the matrix. All he talks about is those two subjects. He accuses me of witchcraft and every religious person as satanic. He is very intelligent and his reasons on the mattix and religion makes sense. But he has been accusing me of anything that deals with witchcraft. And i don't do that stuff I'm not religious or believe anything related to it. He says he's not attached to me anymore. He calls me a liar and says **** you a lot. Lately I've been getting depressed and i believe it's the lack of love I'm receiving. I like how were used to be and i miss it. I've been wanting to tell him what's wrong with me. And i tell him he doesn't listen. And he claims he does. I asked him to come over for the purpose of talking about my issues. And he just talked about the mattix. He barely shows be any affection and he tries to find everything we text about as an argument. He says he's always right. I don't know what to do. He says whatever is going on with me. I deserve it because I'm a liar. He doesn't understand how much i truly love him but he doesn't believe me.

Question: Snap chatting a guy? Posted: 05 Aug 2017 09:23 PM PDT I'm great friends with my friend Jeff. We talk almost every day (not like crazy) but we Snapchat each other of high lights of our days/life events etc.. well I told him when I first added him as a friend on Snapchat that (as a warning) I send a bunch of random snapchats for fun. Meaning he doesn't have to text me every time I send him a (picture) Snapchat, because he always sends a text every time I Snapchat him. I told him he doesn't have to respond to every single one (because I know it might get annoying to him) and he said "I know it's cool" but he still texts me with a response when I send him a Snapchat picture, literally EVERY SINGLE time I send one (we send each other about 15 a day). Why does he feel the need to text me every single time? If it's a picture of my food I'm eatting he'll put "that looks so good" or if I send a picture of me playing basketball he'll pt "I wanna playyy" or if I put a picture of something funny he'll text "lol".. I have nothing wrong with it but I'm just wondering why he responds to everything ?

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 07:02 PM PDT I have witnessed and interacted with many people employing this tactic, whether it be intentional or subconsciously, and it should annoy you. This is how it works: When you know that you generally disagree with someone, or you simply want to assert dominance over someone, you cut them off in conversation after they say only one sentence. You assume that you have guessed the greater point that someone is trying to make (often a point that can be rebutted), and you attack that point (even though the other person may have a different, correct, and perhaps more nuanced point to make). This forces the other person to gather that you have assumed a different point, explain that you are wrong in your assumption, and then explain original point. This sounds simple, but it often slows the other person down enough to create an opportunity for you to walk away (ending the interaction with you appearing to be wrong), change the subject, or continue to rebut the falsely assumed point long enough to make it more difficult for the other person to regain control of the conversation. The best case scenario for the other person when faced with this tactic is to look petty and defensive by having to display ever more investment into the point they were trying to make, which is sometimes more than they truly cared, but without correcting you, they look like they were wrong when they were actually right.
Posted: 05 Aug 2017 04:51 PM PDT I was used for sex and the person that took advantage of my innocence and naivety has moved on to someone else after I shut them out of my life to prevent them from degrading me further. Yet I feel lonely and sad and miserable. How can I move on?
