Hi I have a learning disability and I get Social Security check and I also have my own apartment my mother had to move in with me because she is bedridden and she needs someone to take care of her so I don't have a job right now I just take care of my mother my brother took me to the grocery store the other day and I met this guy there he's cute nice funny down-to-earth he gave me his phone number and we be talking on the phone laughing you know just getting to know each other he told me he has a job he got his own place and he has two kids now he wants to know about me I lied to him I told him that I work and I don't have any kids well that's the truth I don't have any kids lol and I got my own place but I didn't tell him my mother is living with me I feel bad because I lied to him and I told him that I work and I don't work because I take care of my mother I need some advice I'm just scared that he won't talk to me anymore because I get a social security check and take care of my mother

My due date is in January. She notified us that she won't be able to be there when the baby is born because of her annual church encounter camping trip. This really irritates me because she knew the due date for months now. She goes to this camping trip EVERY year. I would figure the birth of her first grandchild is important but I guess not. I have no family besides my husband. So it will just be him there to support me. I don't think I'm going to even notify her when I'm going into labor, or letting her know the child is here. I will probably make her wait a month till she can see her grandchild. I'm just so annoyed right now. What would you do in my situation?

i dont' know what to do or say to him. i know its not my business interfering with his family. but a few days ago my 8 year old granddaughter she was being so rude to our family members, she was talking bad to her cousins and her brother, she was having tantrums, she was cursing at her mother. anyway, my son got so fed up that she destroy what she love the most, her cats. he killed by stomping on them on concrete ground, my granddaughter was present when that happen she cried so much and she hasn't stop crying. my son feels bad too for killing the cats but it happen during a heated moment. i haven't say to him what to do but can anyone tell me what to do and make my granddaughter happy again? any advice

I'm a 57 year-old man who is stuck at home with an elderly mother who has dementia. I have to be at home talking care of her, because I'm the only adult child lest who is still single. I work a part time job outside of home, but it looks like I'm going to have to leave that, because my mother can't remember anything anymore, and I fear for safety when I go out. My mother is on Social Security, and I have little money left. Is there a way for me to work online and make a regular income? I don't want my mother to end up in a nursing home somewhere, because (quite frankly), nursing homes suck!

Long story short I have to get my birth certificate from my uncle if I want it at a reasonable amount of time. I was born in Philadelphia and I cant get it myself because I moved. If I order it online it will take over a month to get to me through mail because the processing takes forever its not the shipping. I have to tell my uncle because my dad is disabled and he is my dads caretaker. So far I called him with the intention of telling him but I wasn't able to I got so nervous I was shaking even while the phone was ringing. Then he called me and It made it worse because he started asking me more questions and I had to lie just to keep him from knowing my move. This is getting outrageous is there anything I can do to make myself tell them? I was thinking of texting it to him but that was before I had to lie to him.

Both my parents are divorced and have been for 14 years. I'm a adult now in my 30's and living on my own. I haven't seen my mom since mothers day. Before that might have been one other time when she came over to see a movie. Its pretty rare that she will call and ask to see if I want to go out to eat or hang out. I haven't even been to my moms at all this year. She lives 40 mins from me and she works about a mile away from me. This guy that she is with doesn't like me for some reason. I have said bad things about him but that's because he can be rude to me. Like when I didn't want to go a family get together. My mom got mad about it and I said "mom I just don't feel like being around certain people. How about if I come over and we can watch a movie together" this guy she is with said "well what if I said I don't want you here" My mom got mad about me not wanting to go and he had no reason to say what he did. Yes I know he was trying to be there for her but he needs to respect my choices. When I told her about his a while ago she said "oh he didn't say that" I said "yes he did you were there" and she told me to grow up and she said "well what would you say if he didn't want you over" Yes I know she was angry at the time. After she she didn't call until like a month later. She just asked to see what I've been up to and never said she was sorry. I guess its time to move on

Alright so my uncles family came to visit for like 2 months from mexico. Its great but the problem is my cousin. She is a 8 year old girl who weighs 80 lbs. (We got a trailer right next to our house for them to live) It isnt my fault shes that heavy cause every single time i get a popsicle, she gets one as well. Btw im not fat im 13 , 130 lbs, 5 ft 7. So, school starts on Monday. My mom says I can either get a perm or wear a wig. I can't do anything else to my hair and everything else I wanted to do she wouldn't allow. So apparently I grew having to live with my stepdad since I was 7 years old and I'm a girl who's had my dad in my life. She is annoying, i'm online schooled so when i do my work she constantly sings childish songs to herself for over an hour. If i ask her nicely to keep it down she says "i don't want to" like a child. On top of that, she complains about her weight, she's 320 pounds, and i am a fitness geek so i gave her tips (ie water, calorie counting, apps), then she says i'm judging her. The other day she was bragging about how a guy slapped her ***, i told her that's disgusting, she said i'm disgusting. I'm 16, i buy all our food with my own job, i have straight a's in school, super healthy, got my own car with my money, permit with the help of my brother, imi'm the only one who cleans the house, i'm not a bad daughter. She says i'm a slut because she saw my boyfriend and i were discussing sex, which we did agree to wait at least a year, i'm still a virgin. Apparently my eyeliners too dark, it's immature to listen to Eminem and play video games, my hair is too long, and weed might kill me, i deserve to "burn." She's getting too loud and annoying for me to concentrate, she is constantly talking to herself and when i try to talk to her she's always on her phone, never puts it down, and just says "yeah" in monotone. And then she cries and tells her **** buddies i never talk to her. She's also super fake, i told her i woulf love to go to a manson concert with her, she says "omg he's demonic, no!" So my husband's brother has been living with us for the past year or so following his wife and only daughter's unexpected passing. He has always proven himself to be a decent enough guy, but he has been struggling with speech problems and limited mobility after suffering a brain aneurysm a little over six years ago. So about a month ago my 17-year-old daughter caught him squatting in the main hallway of our home attempting to catch a glimpse of me in the shower by positioning a handheld mirror in the gap under the bathroom door. I confronted my husband about the issue and he just came up with excuse after excuse for his brother. After some pressure he finally agreed to install some weather stripping under the door to prevent this from happening again. Two nights ago, however, my daughter noticed the faint glow of a cell phone screen just outside the casement window of our guest bathroom while she was taking a shower after her shift at work. She reached for her phone while in the shower and immediately texted me about it. I went outside to investigate and discovered my brother-in-law crouching awkwardly in the bushes, cell phone in hand, seemingly attempting to record my daughter through the window!! I immediately confronted him, but I couldn't make out what he was saying through his garbled speech. What's the best course of action here? If this were any other person he'd be out on the street, but that's not really an option given his recent loss and his condition. I went through his phone the same night as the incident with my daughter to see if I could recover and/or delete any footage he had taken. He had seemingly already deleted it, but after a little more digging I noticed that many of his recent Google searches featured terms like "spy cam and" hidden camera".

Hi, one day when I was 9 I was crying and sad because I couldn't get something I want. I have two kids, identical twins who are almost 2 years old. One of our twins has a medical condition which means she is constantly sick and we are often in and out of the hospital. My wife and I took the kids up to my parents holiday home for the week, my wife had to drive back home this morning because our unwell daughter had a very high fever. She's now been admitted to hospital because they can't get the fever down. I am torn between driving down to be with them or staying here and having a good time with my other little girl who admittedly misses out on a lot due to her sister. My wife wants me to stay here with our other daughter because she thinks it's too hard for her to see her twin sick. Which is true... She really struggles with it and being so young, doesn't fully understand it! I feel awful not being with my wife and daughter at this time though... I am so worried about her as she's in hospital and I feel bad that my wife is on her own. What would you do? Drive down to be with them or stay here and just enjoy the time with one child?

So people ALWAYS tell me that I'm more of the parent and my mom is the child. The only reason I still talk to my mom is because she cosigned on a car and apartment for me (which she always throws in my face even though I pay my own bills). I pay my own bills, but being that I'm still a full time student she still helps me with my phone bill and insurance (which I also put money towards). My mom has distanced me from my dad's side of the family all of my life, i guess to have more control over me. Its too much to type out everything she does but I'm ready to distance myself from her, forever. If you were in my shoes you would truly understand why. The only reason I come home is to see my dogs, whom I will miss so much! But how did you guys begin to become more independent? Any suggestions for me? I'm truly trying.

When I was younger, my sister stole all of my college funds and treated me like dirt. She said/did absolutely horrible things to me that I couldn't even write out, then I stopped talking to her. So I'm going off to college next week and I've been keeping this bad secret for about a year. I'd prefer not to go into detail but it is inevitable that my family will find out pretty soon. The secret is slightly my fault, it just kind of happened, but keeping it from everyone has made the situation worse. I've been incredibly stressed out lately on what to do, and I know it's stupid to have kept it for this long. They're not the forgiving type, especially my aunt. She never lets things go and will bring up stuff that happened years ago. However, she has been helpful with my college transition and I've found out today that she has gotten together a care package with some family friends and will be throwing a small goodbye party for me. She apparently also plans to visit me often since she has friends in the area anyway (the university is a couple of hours away). I just feel guilty and don't know what to do. I know it'd be pretty scummy to just go off without a word and leave my family with the problem. But if I tell them they will never let me live it down. My aunt is somewhat overbearing and will get into other people's business, and it doesn't help that she lives in the neighborhood. We already don't get along very well so I worry that this situation will completely burn the bridge. I would just like some advice.

my uncle recently passed away and all of my cousins and brothers do not share the same last name my uncle & I have. My uncle and I, despite being far away from each other, had a close bond. I saw him as my father figure, in a way. i know yahoo isnt the best place to ask something as emotional like this but here's pretty much whats happening i live with my mom and my step dad and my older brother (22) in a really small house my brother has some serious anger issues and so do i, but im not like him, when he gets mad or upset he takes it out on the family especially my mom they dont go a day without arguing, he says some really bad stuff to my mom which drives me insane and i have to step in, and i have multiple times but it always leads to broken doors, bloody faces which breaks the family even more,and worst of all a hurt mother because of what she sees we do to each other after i try to defend my mom, today we plan on talking to him, he has no job no car, and still lives with us, and i know this is gonna get him pissed, but it has to be said, my mom wont kick him out the house because she loves him, i dont though. i hate my brother. ive never hatted someone so bad in my entire life, when he hurts me i sometimes feel like killing him in his sleep. i know it sounds crazy but you have no idea what hes done to this poor family. i love my mom and im going as far to join the army for them, if this continues i dont know how much longer i can hold before i seriously put him in the hospital. i really think my brother has some sort of brain disorder. should we look for professional help??/

My mother and I have always had a weird relationship sometimes we're best friends sometimes we are fighting. Today she completely went off at me because since I use the living room as my own room (I have no choice the apartment is small) I told her to turn off the tv and to go to sleep soon because I work in the morning. I may had a little bit of attitude but she went off and called me a snob and later a *****. Her attitude towards me lately has been completely calling me a bunch of names and then threatening to hit me. I can sense she still resents me for all the wrongs I made as a teenager and even recently. I know nothing justifies my past behavior however my mother has never offered mental help. My younger brother called me up today crying. I had moved out about a year ago. He said our much older half brother and stepfather had sexually abused us when we were younger. I had no idea what he was talking about but he says it really did happen. I didn't ask too much details but I only remember one thing he claimed. That our half brother made us watch gay porn with him. He said this but that it happened a lot like a routine every weekend but I only remember it happening ONCE. Whenever I'm at my moms house, I feel miserable and she never respects me. I don't respect her because of this. She thinks that since she's the adult, she deserves to be respected and treated like royalty with nothing in return. Yes, I know she feeds me and gives me a place to live but I do a lot of chores each day and all she can do is point out every mistake I make and she never supports me. At my dads, I'm treated like an adult and supported in almost everything. I would love to move out into my dads but I'd have to change schools and even though I hate my school, I've moved so much and I don't want to do it again. I only get to see my dad every other weekend and those times are my favorite parts of the month. What should I do?

I am 13 and I'm going to eighth grade. I am the only person without one in my class. It's really hard going places without a way to contact anyone. It getting tiring to constantly ask people to borrow their phones.

My father yells in my face as well as my brothers and scares us with his angered temper at times. He has clear anger issue but refuses treatment. He will also occasionally pull our hair to yell and spit in our faces and put his hands on our necks. This has been a regular thing throughout my childhood. What can I do? Is this considered child abuse in Florida?

Okay so im 14 and my doctor asked if my mom has ever hit me and i kept telling her no and finally i told her the truth and i go yes but not bad she has only hit me twice this year and they werent bad. She asked me what happened and i made it seem the least bad i could and she told me she has to call child protective services because its her job. Even tho she told me its confidential and she cant tell anyone. I dont know what to do because my mom is going to get so angry and i never even said my mom beat me!

My dad came from a abusive home his mom only said she hated them. All our lives I don't remember him once telling my mom he loved her. He hasn't told us he loves us. My brother my sister and I can't recall one time he told us he loves us. He gives us money even when we don't ask for it. Makes sure my mom has enough gas in her car always buys her flowers for holidays. But he's never said to any of us he loves us. Why it just bothers me.

i told my mother that i dont want to try out for volleyball because i rather not waste my time doing something that i dont enjoy and that gives me anxiety. when i told her this she said, " well what will your dad say? he s not gonna be too happy" she didnt even state how she personally feels. she said, "i dont care-if you try out, great. if you dont, fine." i wish that she was more concerned about my feelings than just "fine." i told her that she should be asking more about why im not doing it instead of what about dad. she just spinned around in her chair for 5 minutes without even responding or caring at all about my feelings and fell asleep. my mother thinks i should try out just so my dad doesnt question. WHAT ABOUT MY FEELINGS MOM WHY DONT YOU CARE ABOUT ME. what do i do?

My dad is dating a woman who is half his age and she has 3 kids. He is up in age and is talking about getting married again, I'm really agitated because I have a feeling that she is staying with him because of money. As the only child who doesn't make enough money on my own, the house may go to her and her kids and I may be kicked out. As I plan on renting the house out so I can have another source of income so I can live at my own place. I feel very selfish but I don't like uncertainty. someone understands what I'm talking about!

I have a current 3.8 GPA and am a college sophomore. I have applied to transfer to a prestigious business school for my junior and senior years. I also sign a Marine Corps commissioning scholarship in the next week (PLC). I do these things to better myself and don't expect anything in return for my hard work now- justa a better life down the road. I am so grateful for my parents and the roof over my head and other things they've provided for me. But, anytime I try telling them anything about college or the Marines officer program, I just get a smarty comment or no comment at all. My friends act much more interested in my situation and future than my own parents and it honestly bothers me. I never get a "good job," or "congratulations" from them. However, they seem so interested in my sister and her accomplishments, they're constantly taking up time with her and asking questions about her life, but never with me.. they're not even attending my contract/scholarship signing for my junior year.. They've made me pay for expenses that my sister never had to pay for.. I understand that I will be the man of the house someday and I understand the meaning of hard work.. but, am I in the wrong for letting this bother me.? I just feel like there's some partiality at my home.. this is the biggest reason why I'm choosing to transfer and finally move into the dorms at a new college.. opinions are appreciated.

My sister and some of my other family members have become estranged. My sister gave a very close family friend (who was also my best friend) my mother s blanket that the funeral home had made with a pic of my Mom and the date of her birth and death on it. My sister did not even ask if me or my brother wanted it. The close friend made a mistake I believe, in telling my brother she had it. I feel betrayed and hurt by my sister and my best friend. Okay, so, I'm a girl & I'm 14, our maid is near 20 and image is a girl too. We have 3 rooms km our house. One for my mom & dad, the other for my brother who is 17 and the other is mine. Apparently, we don't have an extra bedroom for her so, I had to share my room with her. (Mom forced me to) She says, since I am a girl, I should be the one to share the room not my brother. And she doesn't want her to live in the guest room as well. (Cuz, that's for GUESTS. So, I'm saying my room with her for the past 3-4 years (Not same bed ofcourse) And, I'm growing up so, I don't wanna do it anymore. I can't stay up all night with the lights on during weekends. I can't listen to music or watch movies without my headphones. And I have a hobby of reading. (out loud) I can't do that as well. I JUST DONT HAVE ANY PRIVACY. We're soon shifting our home & we have a guest room, so, how do I convince my mom to make her move from my room to the guest room? Please help!

I'm the oldest of four in my house I'm engaged soon to marry my fiancé that I live with all my heart. My 2 younger brothers that are 22 and 24 have always been quite selfish they never want to plan anything with the family I'm the one always getting the family together for birthdays etc i have to beg them to give me money or to help me to buy a cake or food for the party's because they never ask what can they help me with. I have gotten tired and just don't ask anymore and when ever I want to do something my parents and me buy everything and of course they enjoy everything also. They never buy anything also like toilet paper, toothpaste, laundry detergent etc my parents have always talked to them including me to help but they just don't listen they don't want to and they both work they help with rent but that's it. They never help my dad out with yard work either. I'm the one always helping out my mom in buying stuff that we need because we all live here and we should all pitch in but as soon as we tell the. Something they get offended! I just can't believe and saddens me they're like that but if their friends call them they go out with them spend money with them but it hurts their wallet to spend money with their family. they never help with out little sister also I'm the one taking her to her dentist appointment doctor app etc they never offer to do any help and sometimes it's extremely frustrating I guess I will rest when I'm married and move out?

I'm a teenager and I had a good friendship with my cousin who is the same age as me. She has always been jealous of me, I could see that. Wether it being because our grandmother used to tell her that I'm better than her but we were both children at that time and it wasn't my fault that she was being told that and I didn't think about any of it. My boyfriend is in the military, and we planned to see each other Thanksgiving around June. Well then July came and his dad said he wanted to have a family get together. He asked if I could come, but his dad said, "No, only family." He is going down there instead of us spending time with my family. I am very upset, I am not mad since it is his family.. I am upset that they don t want me around at all and he doesn t want to even talk to them about it. It is weird since he met my family, but his family doesn't want to meet me. She said her aunt knows and that is all. Her immediate family (my aunt and uncle) are very dysfunctional. So this other aunt has helped her out as she goes from teen to young adult. She does have some baggage. I knew she got pregnant and miscarried about 5 years ago but she apparently had a baby. It is possible the miscarriage I knew about was actually a baby born. She is known to distort stories and likely has some family trauma based mental illness. Her mother is verbally abusive and her father suffers from alcoholism and is out of the picture. Her step-father has no compassion on her mental illness and is a cold person. So how do I make sure I keep this a secret so I don't go spill the beans. She obviously wants it kept private. I live in Seattle not far from her parents but she lives in Louisiana so I don't see her often. I saw her yesterday at a funeral in the family and gave her a lift to the airport today so she wouldn't be stuck with her mother and step-father's abuse.
