Question: Is it weird if I take my mom to a wedding? Posted: 03 Aug 2016 09:18 PM PDT I'm going to a wedding and I don't have anyone to go with but I already said I was bringing a guest. Would it be weird to take my mom with me or should I just go alone? By the way I'm a 23 year old guy.
Question: Can you have a wedding reception at night? Posted: 03 Aug 2016 08:08 PM PDT I think it would be very romantic to have one under the stars and moonlight.
Question: How much do I (as a bridesmaid) need to spend on a gift the bride and groom? Posted: 03 Aug 2016 06:45 PM PDT I accepted the role of MOH before my friend had laid out all the expenses. But, I don't have a full time job and my student loans have gone into default. I have shelled out more than $500 between the dress & shoes (which I had no option in), the hotel, and planning everything. I almost had to drive back and forth between her "destination wedding" each days because we have to be there all weekend long and I can't afford the hotel. So, how small (price range wise) would be acceptable as a gift? I have worked very hard to meet all her needs, but she has always been "money concerned", so I didn't realize it would be destination, etc. I don't want to appear rude, but I've really pinched pennies to be there for her...I just can't afford anything else (she knows it, but doesn't really care and guilted me into staying in the hotel instead of driving back and forth because it would make her nervous...). It's also too late to back out.
Question: Fiance and I cannot agree on whether or not to have children at the wedding? Posted: 03 Aug 2016 06:11 PM PDT We can't seem to get on the same page about it and it's not the kind of thing we can compromise on, because we can't allow half the people who ask to bring theirs and not the other half.
Question: Do I need to put away tables at my wedding reception? Posted: 03 Aug 2016 01:05 PM PDT The reception venue basically unlocks their storage closet then we take out the tables and chairs to set up. Is it safe to assume we need to put back the tables at the end of the night?
Posted: 03 Aug 2016 10:21 AM PDT My friend is getting married next year and I was made the maid of honor! So I am already thinking of things to do for the bachelorette party. My idea is find a nice get away hotel that offers spa treatments. Preferably something with a bachelorette or girls getaway package. Also while on the trip I want to a wine tasting tour, because well she told me she always wanted to do something like that. I think it would make a great celebration for her. I would prefer to find something around Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. New York is also an option. Also somewhere that isn t extremely too far out because lets face we still need some night time fun right? Please help! by the way, I know this is expensive and at the moment it's just an idea. So I just wanted get suggestions on good places in the area. Also I've already talked to bride about what she would want a one night party or to take a short trip somewhere for a weekend, she wanted a trip. I have until next year to get things sorted out, I am just jumping in now. I'll be adjusting this plan accordingly after talking to bridesmaids as well. I am not leaving them out completely regarding the planning.
