So, my friend recently told me about the things his stepfather did to him (slap him, punch him etc.) and just yesterday he called saying that if he didn't get home in time he'd put embarrasing pictures of him all over facebook. My friend says he wants to get away from him but if he does , his mom and himself wont have anywhere to live since his grandparents don't want to even see him for whatever reason. He's had a rough past with his father killing his stepmom on christmas, and i just don't want him to go trough anymore bad times. I keep thinking about confronting his abusive step dad, but i'm afraid that if i do so, i might make it even harder on them since they'll end up with no place to go as his mom doesn't have a job

So basically I was going to the toilet and My brothers (who is a year younger then me.) three fingers where in the hinge of the door. I wasn t aware of this so I went to shut the door, and then I brother screaming his head of. Bursting in tears. I went to go see what was the matter & then I realized what I done! My dad was furious with me, he blamed it all on me. He wouldn t even let me explain to him that I didn t deliberately do it atall. I was crying a bit MYSLEF. Because I felt like it was all my fault. Maybe my dad was right, I deliberately done it to try and injure my brother. He left his finger for an hour, just running it under a cold tap, then finally dad said we had to go to the hospital. We left to go and I was petrified that I d broke my brothers fingers. His finger by this time was extremely swollen and had blisters & scars all on it. The doctors said that there was a bit of a broken bone but it didn t matter, they gave him some medicine ato take regularly. My dad is still really mad with me. I m really upset. Can somebody tell me what I should do?

I'm a 14 year old Chinese girl who grew up in Canada. I live with my brother (11 years) and my cousin (8 years). I know that my mom is super busy because my dad is in China, she's taking over legal guardianship over my cousin because his parents want to stay in Mexico for a few years to make money, so my mom has to deal with three kids and one isn't even her own child, grandparents (they live with us), financial and taxes, work, and so much more on her own. When my aunt lived with us (my cousin's mom), we could pretty much do anything we want. She went to Mexico a year ago. I mean back then we could get rides from our van and car anytime we want, there was no talking about responsibilities and carrying my phone and money everywhere. Our parents usually bought drinks and food for us if we ever got hungry after swimming lessons. Nowadays we are expected to finish our homework without being asked, do our chores, help out, and generally just take care of ourselves because my mom is so busy. Is it because nowadays there can't be an adult with us 24/7 anymore? My mom reminds us that we're not babies anymore when we act immature (forgetting homework, whining over little reasons, or just talking childish).

Today I decided after stopping by mom's house (I live with my grandparents) that I would redeem a groupon I purchased for an eyebrow/eyelash salon, it took me a half hour to drive there and I realized the area was a bit rough but not terrible so I went in. Now keep in mind I'm 17 I work and I am in IB I pay for everything including my car. So as soon as I get in the salon my grandma (who I live with) texts me where are you? I respond at a friend's and that I would be home in two hours max. Right after that she calls me questioning me I tell her I'm still at my friend's. I then silence my phone to have my eyebrows done. An hour later as I was about to leave I get 50 messages from everyone I know asking me where I was and that my parents are about to call the cops. As I hurry and exit the salon to my car I see my grandma's car next to mine waiting. She tells she is so dissapointed in me and I constantly say that I am sorry. I drive in front of her on the way home bc she told me to. When I get home my grandfather says to me I thought you were smart, give me your keys your car is gone. I then go to my room and sit crying. He said you knew it was a bad area. I only went because it's the only day I will have off from school or work for the next 5 months. I wanted to be happy now my life is ruined I am fully dual enrolled and now I don't have a ride to school or work, I will have to quit my job. I just don't think I am being fairly punished. Neither my dad nor my brother's dad was around for my mom and we were poor and went through ****. I became a man on my own. I feel like I've invested a lot of time in trying to be a role model for my kid brother and to offer support to my mom; brought my brother to and from school everyday for two years, made him do his homework and invested hours of my time to make sure he made honor roll for three years while my mom worked. I have a job and I'm going to college. I encourage my mom and have always been there for her. Since I've been away for a year and been back for college, my brother is failing and repeated a grade, and every time I talk to my mom about going to college to get a job that pays more than minimum wage or disciplining my brother and ensure that he gets good grades she gets mad at me. I'm a loner, I don't have friends, especially since I'm just trying to get my life together and I don't have the money to go out and have fun, so they're the only people I really have. I just feel let down; like my years of hard work, words of encouragement meant nothing to the people I care about most. Now I see my life getting better and I really have a chance to move out and leave them behind, and I know I should because they depress me but it's hard because I care. Hello, I'm 15 years old and I need advice on what to do. Anyways this all started 1.5 years ago for no reason my Step - Dad started to get angry (mom + Step = 4 years) and more agigitated with my mom and me. like when he screamed at me in a car a few months ago for correcting him on something and he pulled a U turn. Or when I told him to knock before entering my room and he screamed and yelled at me asking why I was so mean. And he never hangs out with my mom but he's always threatining her and making her wtach my brother ( who i watch A TON too) and he hardly watches him. But now he creams in my moms face and tells her its all her fault and that shes a gold digger ( which shes not and shes very hurt about that) and hes even lied to his whole family about it and how shes "cold" towards him and the only reason she is cold sometimes is because he emotionally neglects + threatens her. He's even tried convincing me its my moms fault, So now his family believes my moms a gold digger and that shes a *****. BUT THEY DONT KNOW 1/2 OF IT! just the other day he screamed at my mom while her and i were trying to go to an event 4 hours away and took the keys out of her car and said it was her fault, and he was shaking and all up in her face and hes scary whenm he gets pissed. I am in need of them ASAP since my mother will no longer watch my kids which I understand they are a lot of work but I fell into a hard situation financially and couldn t pay my mom. Now she is furious and won t watch my kids for me anymore while I go to work. I ve had to call out 3 times this week due to no child care. I had to reduce my hours from 40 hours/week to 32 hours/week at the request of my mom so with the pay cut its even harder for me to pay someone or put them into a daycare center. My mom claims she has anxiety just to get attention. And she is always making fun of people and being rude behind their back. So I try my best to be patient and tell her to try and be nicer and to look at things through other people's perspective. But then she yells at me and says that I'm a ***** that doesn't take her side. She has a short temper and is extremely rude and because of that her and my dad are always fighting so he leaves and comes back hours later. Honestly I have had it with my father, he is horrible with money and is always needing help to pay crap on time, I'm 21 and going to community college, I hope in the spring to go off to a 4 year school far away so I can quit having to deal with him and his stupid problems. So my friend came over with her mom today to pick me up to go somewhere with her. As soon as I saw them coming I tried to get up but my cat went on my lap so I couldn't really get up. She (my cat) was spread out on my legs so it wasn't going to be easy to pick her up and get her off. My mom told me my friend was here and I said I knew. My mom started talking to my friend's mom and told me I have to come there. I was trying to get my cat off but I didn't want to just through her off. She doesn't come on my lap a lot so I don't want her to think she can't go there or something. So I tried to get my hands under her but she's kinda fat so it's hard to lift her lol. My mom started yelling at me for not coming but I tried to tell her I'm trying! She came over and pushed my cat harshly off so I could get up. She (my mom) started talking to my friend's mom while I slipped my shoes on. Then she kept talkign for like 3 or 4 more minutes! I left with my friend and when I came back from where I was, my mom got mad at me again for why I didn't just shove my cat off my lap. Isn't she wrong to be mad at me for this especially since right after I was ready to go she kept talking for a while? I could've just sat there with my cat for that long while she was talking! Also, my friend was late to pick me up and I was ready before but then I took my shoes off because I didn't want to keep them on for so long. Let me just tell you a little story about my life and my mom. Ok. Well. long story short I walk in my mom injecting herself with steroids! I cried and cried because she soon became addicted and still takes them to this very day. I noticed she was looking more and more like a man and sounded like one too. She then got, Roid Rage. She started threatening to kill me and seriously injure me if I didn't do a simple task. This went on for a year until, she met another guy. We will call him Vince. But here's the problem. He lived in Florida and as soon as my mom told me about him, a day later she told me that he was moving in with us. Mind you, I never met him in person and my mom only new him for a month and also never met him in person. Dumb idea right? He came about 2 days later. He had a good sense of humor and he was very nice. Me and him over the next 3 months developed a close and strong friendship. We then moved to a new house where I'm at now and he moved back to Florida to take care of his dad (he's very sick) and he visits every so often. About a month later, I find out he makes steroids for my mom. Great right? I've eventually decided to let it go because nothing will ever change. My mom still works out to this day and she still looks very masculine. But now all she does is scream and threaten me and I'm used to it. I lock myself in my room at night because she gets to aggressive. And that's the story about my mom. If you have any advice please help.

My aunts family has some money issues which means they don't have a lot of money. My mom has always helped them out for 25 years and they are grown they have no job and three kids. They never did anything to help themselves, and I remember when my mom had to buy them groceries this didn't happen once. And they like to use us which I find unfair my mom has a family to take care of me and my brother. So my aunt had to be discharged from the hospital to my house and not her house because the house is dirty and disgusting. And her leg would be worse if she stayed there. We welcomed her in and also bought all of her needs like medicare for her leg because she had a blood clot which caused a wound on her leg. My mom set up programs for my aunt to help her out. My aunt would complain she wants to go home but she can't because of the bad living conditions. Also my other aunt to my older aunts money so how she has nothing. So then we bought my aunt that has the bad leg a walker, therapist, a nurse to come to the house and everything. So one day we let my aunt visit her family at home for a while her daughter that took her money. So my parents went to go pick her up and nobody was home and my parents decided to call to see where my aunt with the bad leg was at. So she said she didn't want to stay at my house anymore after all my mom has done for her my mom was so upset. So they had the nerve to come ask for the medicine after she left us and now what should we do?

Ok sometimes my mom will compliment me saying that I am skinny, but then she will say she is fat and wishes she was. It makes me feel guilty that is why I am posting this on here I don't even feel skinny but of course I don't want to tell her that because she will think I just want attention so I just don't say anything at all I will sometimes say thanks. Because I weight just enough where I at least feel better about myself but a few more pounds up I will be over weight for my age. What would you do if your mom did that to you? Not in the sense that I'm using my own money to pay his bills but he makes me go online all the time to pay all of his credit card bills and pay the house mortgage. I'm 16 now and have been doing this since I was about 13 years old. My mom doesn't think it's right but my dad gets angry very easily and won't listen. On top of all this, he also has so many different passwords for each of his accounts and the few times that he does it for himself at work he changes his passwords because he doesn't remember them and if I struggle to get into one of his accounts, then he gets really angry and starts yelling at me and tells me that I'm supposed to know. It's summer and I usually sleep in, but recently he called my phone like 3 hours before I usually wake up and told me to scan his mortgage statement to his agent and pay the house mortgage. He knew I was sleeping so he said I could do this stuff when I woke up. I slept a few hours more and went on the site he goes on to pay his mortgage only to find out that he hadn't even registered for an online account yet. I called him and told him but then he started yelling and said I was wrong because I just started doing what he asked. When I asked him for his info and stuff he hung up. I don't know what to do...

This is a long one. So I left to walk to practice because the schedule changed to 7 o'clock when I got their we practice for awhile then my dad showed up and told me that I should have told him I was leaving early and that I was to pack my stuff up and leave practice. I m 11 years old my step mom has always been distant with me. She is nice when my dad is around but gets cranky easily with me only. I see my dad once a month because we live 4 hours away from each other. When I was 4 I remember her always being mad when she saw me playing in the living room with my toys or when I would not eat my food. She would even get mad at my dad for taking her car to pick me up. She would even tell me that if I m not good my dad isn t going to pick me up ever again. She just had a baby about 2 months ago with my dad and she gives her baby so much love. And when we are alone while my dad is at work she ignores me the whole time and is locked in her room with the baby. Than once my dad finally gets home she comes out and acts nice. I want her to love me how she is going to love my half sister. But will that ever happen

So, I'm twelve almost 13, (and going into 8th grade, since I skipped a grade). This makes me really self conscious already because I'm younger and feel like I don't really fit in. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE in my grade shaves (girls at least). I think I'm ready to shave or wax but my mom says no. Her reasoning, in my opinion is quite stupid. She's says that the hair will fall off after puberty, and that I don't need to shave. I was like, WHERE DID YOU FIND THAT INFORMATION WOMAN? Anyway, she's Asian, so she doesn't have any leg hair. She claims that she didn't shave when she was younger, but I know she did (I found a razor in her bathroom once). My dad is Irish though, and they tend to have a lot of hair - as do I! We haven't really sat down and have a conversation about it, because anytime we do, she gets all mad and yells at me. So I've been asking her in snippets now that school is coming. And I didn't tell her.. But some girls are really mean about my leg hair sometimes - that's why I always wear pants, and never go swimming. It distracts me from my studies and makes me worry about my appearance more than I already do. I just feel really insecure about myself. What can I do, PLEASE HELP! I don't think I can't take it if she says no again.

So I will be a senior in a couple of weeks and I have to think about the colleges that I want to attend. I live in a suburb of Washington D.C (Northern Va) and I truly hate the people here. What's even worse is that my parents are telling me that if I don't commute with them, they will not financially support me. I never get along with my parents but if I were to listen to their decision, I will have another 4 years of misery and pain. They always get mad at the very simplest thing. For example, I wanted to set up a bank account since I have been putting my money on a mattress, and my parents were like your not allowed have a bank under your name until you graduate from college. At that point, I knew that I don't want to commute to my parents due to the fact that they are controlling my life. As far as what I want to major in, they want me to be Pharmacist but I know in my heart that I want to be a geoscientist. As far as how messed up my life would be, my brother lives on campus due to the similar reasons I stated above, and he told me that they are wrong about how our parents thought that he couldn't afford college (he took out other loans). So I want to hear what you guys think? I know that living at home is much cheaper, but what happens if my out of pocket cost is around 7-8k? do you think it's worth living on campus, despite the fact that I will save up around 4k next year (i saved 1k)?

So I'm 16 years old girl and I don't want anything but a normal teenage life :( but mom is so strict the other day asked her with a calm voice: mom can I go the movies? She suddenly yelled out of the blue saying: MOVIES?DIDN'T U GO THERE LAST WEEK DO YOU HAVE TO SPEND MONEY ON THAT SILLY THING GROW UP U CAN WATCH IT ONLINE and It wasn't even about watching the movie it was about getting out of the house bec I litterly didn't step out of it for like a week or more. Other thing is that my mom doesn't let me go to my friends' houses, she doesn't even listen to me when I try explaining it's always a no. In school days I just go to school then stright home in holidays I'm always home. Also she hates me going anywhere alone, shopping, movies, clubs, gym. Anywhere. My dad MUST drive me there unless he's not here and it's urgent And me, being me, I like doing thing alone, walking alone, eating alone, watching movies alone. I don't like depending on my parents but she doesn't understand she In fact never understands me. The sad thing is I can't move out of my parents house as soon as i turn 18 bc I live in middle east. I have to stick in this house until I get married or a miracle happens :(

Whenever I talk to my parents, the conversation always end with an argument. It could be about anything : grades, clubs, movies, etc. I make all A's (which better than my parents ever had), I volunteered in a tutoring program, but it seems nothing makes them happy! My parents are very bias people who only thinks black and white. Their neither political or academally smart but still have their opinions. They told me I have a bad mouth and a bad attitude but, in reality, I just ignore them until something comes up missing, or they want me to get them food or something. I can't wait to leave and go to college but that's two years from now. What can I do to not start any drama and avoid them as much as I can?

I am crying really bad while writing this, Me and my half sister is living with my grandma and half sis since last year. I develop GAD ( Generalization Anxiety Disorder) and it's bad i feel always worry and fear. They consult me yesterday at the doctor and give some medicine that might help. And now, I said to my grandma that I feel nervous and she just shouted to me saying, " i dont care about that now because I consult you to the doctor yesterday" and I shouted back " you dont care about me" and I always got scolded even I dont anythiing bad. I feel so bad to myself and my mom and dad is aways and I am afraid to say this, but I say to my parents now that I have this now. They are worried because my mom has this too back then. I think they were just forced me to take care of us and they make my situation worse. I need a phychiatrist and my dr said that if the drugs didnt work for me, she will call a phychiatrist. I always feel alone here, because they are always not in here at the house and I just left here with my lil sis. I'm 49. I stopped considering myself a father, once my son and daughter turned 8 years old. When they were 8 up until 17, I would belt them with belts everytime they got on my nerves, and everytime I was stressed. I would also belt them whenever they cried or laughed. I was not going to baby them. I would always tell them laughing and such is for only babies. I would belt them on their backs and heads. They have tried numerous times to hit me back while I would belt them, I never allowed them to and this would cause me to belt them for a longer time. No one saw their bruises from punishment as I had them in online schooling. I never bought them anything or spent time with them on their birthday. I ignored them on everyone they have had. When they were younger(8 to 10) they would cry, and get upset. From 11 to 17, they would just get ticked off. I never allowed my wife to do anything for them on their birthday either before. I spent time with myself on my birthday and wife on her's only. Just not son and daugher. I kicked them out a few days before their 18th birthday. I was told I was in the wrong. But weren't my son and daughter in the wrong?

I've never been what you'd call angry at someone or something to the point where I'd curse them out or yell scream and get mad at them even when many people tell me I should have been angry, however I've had people get angry at me before and I simply ignore them or tell them I'm not in a position to care enough about what they have to say about me to respond, and my mom has lectured me about not letting people run over me before but I always reply with "How can they run over me if I don't care about their opinions or thoughts?" this has always seemed to confuse her because she is always ready to defend herself against them but why would you let it get to you in first place? So is it a good thing that I have this don't care attitude? If it got physical then I'd have to defend myself but if its only verbal why should you care? I've always thought it was good because it tends to get to the person cursing me a lot worse than arguing with them, its like it takes their will to curse away. You could probably label me as passive aggressive but that doesn't seem to suit me.
