I have since remarried a greta man and role model to my children. We have been married for 11 years and we have two young kids (10 and 4). I cant take my wifes behaviour anymore, I use to try and hide it from friends and family, but it has gotten so bad, I just cant hide it anymore. Spending sprees, drinking, lies, arguments (over nothing). My counselor says I need to get a divorce or I'll never be happy. From talking to lawyers and counselors, having a personality disorder doesn't disqualify you as a parent. So I have to take all these behaviours, document them, and then prove to a court she has a personality disorder, and thats still not enough, prove the personality disorder hampers her parenting. In my opinion, this is a really tough task. How do you document the hundreds of bouts of anger, or the behavious she covers up. Most of her bad behavious is around her family who may not even testify I just dont get it. I dont have the disorder, but because I'm a man I have a mountain of the legal system to climb and overcome the systems perpencity to give kids to the mom. I also have to give child support to someone who is a disaster at managing money. Im a very good father. I change(d) diapers, cooked 95% of every meal we have ever ate, im either at home or work, I dont go out, and do things with my kids when ever I can. I just cant trust a biased system with my kids. |
