I don't wanna act like I'm spoiled or anything because I'm not and I don't expect way too much from my parents anyways (I barely ask for anything and I'm grateful for what I have). I'm a 14 year old Chinese girl in Canada and I have a friend who's 19 that can go out all she wants and wear anything she wants (as in her parents won't tell her that wearing that crop top or that bright red lipstick is inappropriate but mine will and would). Her parents often got angry at her when she wore revealing clothes when she was my age. For me my mom just complains or gets upset but she won't make me change unless its at an event that's super special to her. She can buy whatever she wants though (well a lot of teenagers secretly buy small things like food, game cards, and maybe things that they want anyways). If I could buy anything I'd just buy game cards because I'm obsessed with a multiplayer game :3

Ok so i am muslim. My whole family is muslim. We are a decent religious family. I am 16 years old. I have a older brother who is 23. Recently my brother has been a very bad influence on me. He secretly has a girlfriend and i saw him kiss her once and he is doing very bad wrong things. My mom is in germany for vacation and my dad is working most days. today my dad went to LA for a trip the whole day. At 8 or 9 pm he said he is going to Sujus for a meeting. He comes back at 1:15 am and he is acting really weird. He starts being really loud and asking repetitive questions. I get really mad and tell him whats wrong. He says nothing. When he talked at that moment i smelled alchohol and my whole body went to shock. I was gonna hit him and tell him why is he drunk but thought better and told him to sleep. Keep in mind i dont tell my parents anything bad that he does because i dont want them to get worried and dont want to make my mom worried on the other side of the world. I dont know what to do. I'm working on a novel, and for the sake of not following stereotypes, I would like to portray the main characters feeling about her biological family as realistically as possible; This is not the main focus of the novel, but it is an important part of her character. I want to be able to show how she feels about her biological parents and siblings prior to and when she is reunited with them. As well as her relationship with her foster mother who raised her, and her older foster brother; the biological son of said foster mother. If anyone also had any advise on how to portray the foster mother's feelings that would be greatly appreciated as well. ok so i am an 18 year old girl (adult) turning 19 very soon and ever since i was adopted, my mom has always favored my older siblings over me(im the youngest).ok so when my brother still lived with us my mom never ever grounded him or disciplined him he got to do whatever he wanted (then he moved out to go live with his now ex wife). but my sister (whos 24 now) still gets better treatment than me. i know she pays her part of the house bills but she still gets way better treatment than i do. I am only allowed to use our family laptop at the dining room table if im caught any place else with it, im not allowed to use it for a week. but my sister gets to take it wherever she wants whenever she wants AND SHE HAS 2 OF HER OWN LAPTOPS ALREADY!!! She will be able to take it when im in the middle of using it just like that but if i say something its the end of the world. its really funny that i still have more rules than Sam(sister). my mom says that as long as we are under her roof we have to follow her rules no matter how old we are. but my sister can get away with anything and i cant do anything without being screamed at! she gets to use the computer whenever and wherever. i can only use it at the table. she gets leave her belongings all over the house but i get yelled at for forgetting to throw away a candy wrapper. I am always stuck doing chores during the day and when they come home from work, they just sit on their A-double Dollar signs and order me around. i need more freedom

I absolutely hate it, for the past few months I have been sleeping on the couch because I can not stand sharing a room with him. He is so messy and gross and does not ever clean, he also is very rude. He pees in bottles if he Is playing mine craft and doesn t want to stop playing. So we usually are at one of my relatives house and at the table my daughter and her boyfriend are either pecking kisses at each other , touching each other, or they are on the couch on top of each other kissing. Im staying at my aunt's house for a week while my parents are away on a vacation for their anniversary. Its been just us two in the house all day. I'm 18. I smoke cigarettes and while yes it's legal because I'm 18 and all, my family (mom's side especially) despise cigarette smoking. They literally shut my cousin out of the family completely and no longer talk to her because she smoked cigarettes. Since its just us two in the house all day so far I haven't had a chance to sneak away without being noticed. I plan on leaving and walking up the street to smoke one and I have gum and perfume on hand, but I can't think of anything to tell her! I know she's obviously going to ask where I'm going. My brother has always been a problem child. When he was 3 my moms ex-BF beat my brother & burned him w/an iron. My mom always says that my brother is the way he is now bc of that incident. When I was 12 & my bro was 9 he stabbed me & went to Juvie for a week. My mom was by my brothers side during that. Child services threatened to take us away if she didn't visit me at the hospital. I had to attend mandatory counseling before my brother could come back into the home & my mom coached me before every session. That was 10 years ago & Since that night I've felt angry towards my mom. We've never talked about that night. She never told my bro that what he did was wrong & she always makes excuses for him. Today, my bro is a felon, he's never had a job & he's addicted to drugs/alcohol but he's still the love of her life. I want to get everything off of my chest so I can stop hating her so much. Should I speak to her or just continue to act like it never happened?

I'm 21 and I still live with my parents. I've never had a job, never owned a car and I don't even have my drivers license. I have been lazy for years. :( When I was 15 or 16, my parents always made it like getting a job wasn't a must. I was homeschooled so school was in my living room. Because I was homeschooled, I didn't have any friends. My parents never made me get a job or my drivers license and they never tried too kick me out when I turned 18. They just always continued paying for all my crap (food, soda, Netflix, and clothes) and telling me 'no worries you don't need a job right now.' Now I'm 21 with no money, no job, no job experience, no drivers license, no friends to talk too. Hell, I've never even had a girlfriend. I know I've been lazy but, I don't want too waste anymore of my life. I don't know where to start. What do I do?

well it all started when i was 8 my grandpa was told her had parkinsons disease he was the family rock well he molested me during a mental break and didnt know who i was he then died in 2004 which broke my heart i still cant get over the fact after many years i got dianosed with severe anxiety and depression still fighting it all with pills. also my dad had two PE embolisms he should not be here doctors told him he is lucky to be here if he has another he will die. forward a year my mom gets dianosed with aml luikema she manages to beat it but she changed compleletly into a person we do not know anymore she is not like how she use to be she keeps saying she has her second chance at life and her way of doing that is leaving my dad and us kids and living with her family and seeing us every 8 weeks and my kids too. right now my dad is going through big surgeries to fix himself and i hope he will be ok i hope my mom comes back to normal and my family is normal again. also after my grandpa died before he did my whole family was so close but after he passed no one is talking no one gets together anymore on my dads side after that. also my dad will be living with me after his surgeries which i will take care of him if needed he is a ticking time bomb at this point. also i cant seem to let this all sink in and deal with all of this any advice would be good i feel like everything is falling apart around me and i cant do anything about it PS THIS ALL WITH MY MOM AND DAD HAPPENED IN JUST THESE LAST THREE YEARS it also seems when i am happy and feeling better things just get worse or something goes wrong or my mind likes to go back and say remember when this horrible stuff happened its like i cant get away from it also when i get really depressed i cant eat or sleep is that normal it is scaring me and i know i need to accept all of this and move on but my mind keeps bringing it all back up and it kills me my mind just want all of this to go away and be normal again i feel so lost and tortured to much has happened with my family its like life cant give me a break

I'm 13 and my parents are getting a divorce and my dad told me he had a girlfriend. The problem is, he's putting her first for everything and leaving me with nothing. He gets mad if I ask for money for new clothes I need or if I ask for certain food I'd like to have for dinner. People are telling me I'm jealous of her but I have no issue with him being happy. I know how much my mom and dad hated each other. My problem is he complains about getting me things, some of which I actually need. But then he'll spend his last dollar on this lady. Here's the deal: My little brother have had a gaming pc for 3 years, and now I want it to not work anymore, atleast some parts. The reason is because when he is using his microphone to game and talk with his friends, he is very loud and every family member can hear it ( it seems I'm the only one to be bothered by it though). I have tried everything, telling him to be quiet, telling him to get off the pc, told my parents etc. but nothing seems to work. It ***** up my study life, it ***** up his grades, it ***** up our relationship, and sometimes I literally feel like choking him to death. Therefore I have decided to purposely destroy some parts of his computer, but I don't know how. That's why I need help. What should I do to make his mic and headphone output/input not work? What should I stick in the mic hole to **** some **** up? wax? fat? I'll do anything as long as he doesn't know someone did it.... please help. I can't take this anymore.... Now school starts for him, and I estimate he will use atleast 8 hours every day on his computer. This is borderline sosial suicide, and also when it comes to his life, school life and basically anything. Remember that he is 16, so he is not actually watching kittens and flowers online. The **** teenagers do on the internet is just jaw-dropping. In conclusion: the PC is toxic. (Parents gets pissed once in while, but they're to soft to take further action) Ok, so I've made up my mind. A lot of you suggested that this situation/problem should be further discussed with my parents, and I have therefore come with a final conlusion of action. Thanks for helping me coming up with a solution. I am going to stuff his shitty microphone input hole with stiff, yellow hair wax. May god have mercy on my soul.

My in-laws are terrible. -My BIL accused me of relaying information about him to his ex wife, a woman I ve never met. He asked relatives to block me on social media and some obliged. When confronted, he claimed my husband and I were paranoid and apologized IF he was wrong. -My MIL has always been passive aggressive, but lately she accused me of being self-absorbed, condemning, and questioned whether I take care of my kids. When confronted, she claims that it s just of she speaks and that I am making something out of nothing. -My FIL accused me of being responsible for my husband losing his job because I don t cook (he cooks and I clean and it works for us). -My SIL organized an event and my husband said he was unavailable one weekend but available ANY OTHER WEEKEND. She booked it for the weekend if was unavailable and whne he raised it as an issue she sent a nasty note about how he s a man-baby and who cares if he has to miss his kid s first day of school. I ve had it with those nasty people. My husband doesn t confront them but it makes me angry and causes us to fight all the time. He only confronts them when I lose it an it makes his home life unbearable. he doesn t give them any consequences. After attacking me as a parent his mother requested to see the grandchildren on Skype and he answered "sure, what time works for you?" Am I right to cut things off? I fear they will keep attacking me to my husband and he will just keep his mouth shut.

My mom is jealous of and hates my stepmom who I really love way more!? I don't admit it but I love my stepmom way more! My actual mom is jealous and really dislikes my stepmom and thinks she's a bad person and hates if I talk about her. It's like I have to choose between the two! Am I bad for loving my stepmom more? I found out i was pregnant at 17, but I am now 18 and about 6-8 weeks. So the father of my baby wants is gone and me too. But keep in mind the baby's father is with another girl now and they already have a child, he had been lying saying he was single, leading me to believe he wanted to be with me, and to find out he was living with this girl and other his other baby the whole time !!! But being my old dumb forgiving self, I came back to him because he "claimed" to be single and wanted to grow with me. But they were lies.. I recently talked to him over the phone because I was getting so fed up with the way he was treating me and the situation. And he says this, "I don't love you. I don't want to be with you, I want her and to be with my baby and her together, you've been nothing, I was using you for sex, and you are toxic and I need you gone so get rid of this baby and go." I started crying my eyes out dude. Like legit pain of damn did he really just say all that and mean it ?? And his family is all for it too, including the other chic. Now I kinda want to keep it just out of being spiteful because of what he has done and how their family is treating me. Today my dad hit me for no reason and made me bleed. He started swearing at me and said to my face that he hates me. I told him why did you even bring me up to this world and he replied saying that people only have children to work for them (become their slaves). So basically he is saying that my purpose is a Slave. Anyway long story short he beats me up swears at me in front of my mum, siblings, grandmother, grandad and aunts. When I was 6 he made me clean the house and stuff and made me suffer. Ever since I was little I remember my dad hitting me and swearing at Me. 1 time when I was about 9 I remember that my dad made me so angry so I punched him in the jaw, kicked him and said f*ck you to him. After that my dad got hot water put it on me and started swearing at Me. Now he is beating me up for no reason and swearing at me like I stole $100000 from him. I legit want to kill him now and call the police on him for being a child abuser. Also I want http spark him in the face and put hot water in his bald head and freaking get one of his tools for work and smash it on his d*ck

Well I have been selling stuff for cheap she said she doesn't want me loosing any money and that I will be just getting rid of it (that is what I am trying to do) I know she is just trying to help but I know what I am doing her helping does nothing really but stress me out sometimes. I am cheap but not as bad as her I know other people would like good deals just like we do.

Hey everyone I'm Natalie I'm 12 years old yes I know I have to be 13 or older to be here but I don't care I'm very worried about my mom ever since my dad and mom separated/divorce she hasn't been the same she doesn't cook often like she use to we have to eat noodles or frozen food. She's in her room a lot and she's seems depressed like she doesn't smile either she may crack jokes in between but that's just it. She's stressing and she's losing her hair it's very thin and her teeth are falling out and she just eats for comfort food. Last night my dad took me and my siblings to dinner to hang out with us. But my mom decided to hide from him. It's this rumor my gradmother on my dads side told my mom that' he has a girlfriend. So she's jealous and she wants to look good for him and she feels very low about herself I tried talking to her but she won't listen my siblings feel the same we also told our close auntie she tried talking to her to but it won't work. And couple weeks ago my older sister and my mom got in a argument and she said that ''maybe I shouldn't be a mother'' then also got in. Another argument and she said '' Jesus I can't do this just kill me now'' I'm very worried who's gonna watch me I'm too young for this to happen to me I know other people have lost their mom/father at young age but please help me.

my parents are getting a divorce and one of them is moving out of state. I want to go back to my home town but if I do the parent who's living out of state will have to pay child support and they currently don't have a job. I'm very very unhappy here in this other state and I really want to go back home because I'm happier there but if I do my parent who lives out of state is going to have a rough time because they have no money to pay child support. I don't know what to choose, and the decision is up to me at this point.

A week ago, I bought a book online that I figured my parents wouldn t have a problem with me reading (it s a sociology based book on the harmful effects of the porn industry). They found it, got upset, and while I tried to explain to them why I m reading it, they didn t buy it. The next day, I re-explained it to my mom, who finally understood and got over it. My Dad, however, hasn t been talking to me for the past two days, avoids eye contact, etc. and I haven t even done anything "wrong" - I defended myself and we disagreed, that s it. I would be willing to break this silence with him, but for the past year, he s been handling arguments like this - giving me the silent treatment, and sometimes broadcasting his rants about me when I m around. The past few times, I ve been the one to break the silence (even though he s the one who stops talking). This time, I m tired of this childish behavior, and I feel it s not my responsibility this time to break it. So, how do I move forward from here? If it helps your advice, I m 19, by the way. Thank you.

My dad was talking to me abd also my stepmother. They were telling me that they're tired of me complaining about myself too much and told me off about it. They said to either accept myself or dont expect people to respect me if I don't respect myself. They also told me they're too old to argue with me and I'm making their blood pressure go up and I'm stressing them out. My dad told me bluntly that enough is enough and I'm stressing him out because of my problems and whatever and it's giving him a headache. Also he said, "Dana I am stressed enough as it is and I don't need **** from you either! You're stressing me out what too mcuh and my blood pressure is going up! I can't do this anymore. I'm five years away from being 60 and how the hell are you going to survive the real world if you can't accept yourself or too sensitive to criticism? Plus you need to help out more. You work and go to school but you need to help out more!" I didn't mean to stress my dad out. I have a disability! Autism but he doesn't care. My family lectured me and that I need to help my parents more and system bei BEI so lazy. I can't expect my parents to do everything and he and my stepmom are stressed out. Even my own brother and sister told me the same thing. They say I'm younger than mom and dad and they can't do what they used to ANYMORE and I need to help and stop causing stress. So two months ago we found out my father had an affair 3 years ago. My mom was very upset and was planning on divorcing him but ended up staying and said she was gonna work it out. Last week she flipped out on my father because he didn t want her to see something on his phone, which was frustrating but it was something involving the affair a few years ago that he just hadn t gotten rid of yet. She told us he d been lying the whole time and he d been having multiple affairs and was currently having affairs and all this crap and I was so angry at my dad. I didn t want to see him and I was so hurt by the whole thing. Then two days later she went out to talk to him and when she came back she was very defensive of him and telling us we had to forgive him because he s only human and humans make mistakes. Two days later they were already back to fighting. My mom left late at night to go get my sister because something happened and she needed her so when she left my father sat me and my sister down and told us he was sorry this happened and all this stuff and after a while we told him that our mom had told us about him having multiple affairs and he got very upset. Saying he had made that mistake once and that he hadn t had multiple affairs. I m really angry with my mom and everytime she says something i feel like she s lying..

My sister is my best friend. She is 10 years older than me, and has been on her own for a very long time. She is married, and I currently live with her. My parents live about 5 hours away, and up until a year ago I still lived with my dad because I don t make enough money to live on my own. I have suffered with depression and anxiety my whole life, and my other family members think that that is why he favors me more. I don t really see that he does that, because I am the one to reach out to him, not the other way around. My sister rarely calls or texts him, but gets mad when I am the one to tell her information, because my dad hates to call on the phone. He recently came to see us because I was in a play, and she was angry because she didn t get to see him as much as me. I honestly don t know what to do, because I feel so guilty about it, but this is something that her and our dad need to figure out. I am just so sick of being the middle man between them, and then getting yelled at because a message wasn t relayed properly.

So i am staying over with my grandparents for 2 more weeks. I was doing something in the kitchen and he kissed my cheek. I just didn't like it. I am raised by my grandpa and he kissed my cheek earlier but as i grew up a little, i just dont like it. (Im 14 btw). I made that disguisted accidentaly. He started yelling at me that I hated him and then he ran away from kitchen saying "go **** yourself". And he didn't talk to me after that. I will not apologize to him because yelling "go **** yourself" to granddaughter is not what healthy man would do. I will never apologize to him for that but will it stay like that? Pls give me an advice.

Recently, a friend of mine opened up to me about being molested when she was younger. It hasn't set well with me...at all. Ever since she told me, I thought back to my own "odd" experiences that I had with my father. He'd come into my room either really late at night, or really early in the morning and he'd lay his head on my chest. This only started after I had begun to get breasts. But when he was fighting with his girlfriend, he would come in and hug me on my bed while I was watching TV. He'd lay there for a long time just holding me. He then would say, "I'm probably annoying you." And he'd get up and leave. I have one memory of him, when I was in the shower, I yelled and asked if he could give me a washcloth because and instead of handing it over the curtain, he pulled the curtain back and for a long 2 seconds, look at me in a way that even at my age, I knew "wasn't right" in a sense. I felt exposed because I had just started to get breasts. Well at that time, I would play with Barbie dolls and my Brat dolls, and I'd take their clothes off and tie them up. I'm not sure what else I did but that's the only memory I have of how I played with them on certain occasions. When I was maybe 7 or 8, I had spotted, almost like a light period. I couldn't remember what the cause was, but I asked my mom this morning and she said, "Yeah, I remember. And crazy enough, me and Steve (my stepdad) were camping when it happened. It was just a freak thing." As I hit puberty, I was turned on by the idea of a woman being raped. And up until this day, I still find myself entertained with the idea of rape. I am coming up with every excuse I have as to why I am wrong to feel this way, and I just want to be told that I'm being dramatic because I have no memory of anything other than what was typed. I just need to know for 100% fact that this did not happen to me, because every pore in my body is saying, "It couldn't have."

I'm a sophomore and my parents are having me babysit my 11 year old brother every day after school, although he is completely capable of staying home by himself until my mom gets home from work. When I have to babysit him, I can't have anybody over to hang out with or go anywhere after school. I can't even have a job, and I can only hang out with my friends on the weekends. I've attempted to talk to my parents about having my brother learn to stay home alone for a few hours, but they keep saying that I'm being selfish because I don't want to be babysitting him for 5 days out of the week. I feel like I should have more time to myself as a teenager. What should I do?

Hey I'm 17 and a girl. I live in England. I have 5 older brothers and a younger sister. My brothers are Mark aged 30, Josh aged 26, Sam and Lewis aged 23 and George aged 20. My sister is called Lydia and she's 14. Growing up, my little sister was favoured by our mum and dad a lot and it caused lots of resentment between all of us and Lydia as our parents were very abusive to me and my brothers. I now live with Mark, his wife and my 2 month old nephew because of the abuse. Me and my brothers are really close but they will not speak to my sister. They ignore her, at Christmas they won't get her anything even when they get me something and they take it out on her because we all had such a crap childhood when she got everything. I feel really bad and I tell them to be nicer to her and explain that it wasn't her fault but they won't listen to me. Mark is coming around and is being nice to her sometimes but the others literally hate her. Josh has a 2 year old little girl and Sam has a 6 month old boy but they won't let her see them and if she speaks to Josh and Sam then they tell her to **** off and that she's nothing to do with them. Im her dad, and shes 16. When she goes out and stays out past her 9:30 curfew she is grounded the following weekend and must clean the house. I told her I would be home at 10:00 tonight and I came home at 10:10. She was mad and was like "u said ud be home at 10! u liar!" and I told her i would run some errands for her today and when i forgot she told me it was going to be punishment day. My niece is 10 months old, my parents have taken care of her, bought her everything she needed and so on. The child's mom and dad(my brother) love with my parents. Both of them are unfit and don't have jobs. They spend more time smoking cigarettes than watching or spending time with their own child. The mom loves her child, I'm sure, but never want to see her, doesn't put in effort and gives her to other people constantly. I know my brother would give up custody, he has already admitted he doesn't want the responsibility. But the mom, she wants the baby for government assistance and a showcase for facebook(she posts about loving her daughter but never spends time with her). My parents want full custody to give this girl a happy life. Will this be hard to do with one parents consent? I feel bad for my niece, I'm always watching her so she will get the love she deserves instead of sitting in her crib crying. Her own mother won't wake up and doesn't even know herfeeding schedule.

So, I've been doing work experience for retail for about 6 weeks, and a lot of places are now offering jobs to me. So, after I get a job and have enough money I want to find a cheap place and live by myself. I'm 21 now, and everyone's telling me to stay with my parents for as long as I can...why? Will I struggle that bad? How will I learn to live by myself if I DON"T try and struggle a little. I just wanna move back to my childhood town, I hate where I am now with my parents, we recently moved to a place with more traffic and business than where I was, there's just roads and traffic, I miss the beach and the warm feel of suburbia. (If you're Australian, I moved from Redcliffe to Caboolture...imagine how out of place I feel.) Anyway, what should I do, stay with mum and dad, or move to a small little shoebox of my own?

I am the only boy in the family. I was not the easiest teenager in the world. I had an attitude, I was unmotivated in high school (only interested in what friends were doing), and I am from my mother's 1st marriage. So my mother holds it over my head now (I am 29) how much I have messed up. I hold down a job 5-6 days a week. I no longer go with the party crowd at all and NEVER do drugs anymore. I also no longer mouth off to strangers or acquaintances like I did in high school. However, my mother continues to hold it over my head that nothing has changed except that I got a job. She also constantly reminds me "I am the parent who kept you when that bio father of yours abandoned you as a baby" like she expects me to thank her. Meanwhile, she praises and showers praise to my sister. It is clear she favors my sister. As a result I only visit my mother about twice a year. She never comes out of her way to see me. So while I admit I was a difficult teen, is this narcissism my mother has and if so where would I go for resources on dealing with it? I want to always have a relationship with her. It is like my sister is the good one and I am the bad one. She is married (my step-father) and he adopted me but I feel like he has abandoned me but I know he fears my mother and at least he did come visit me. My bio father has never been in the picture.

Question: Our son was sent to the principals office for bullying and hitting a boy. I think my husbands reaction is a bit too much?

My son and some of his friends have been teasing and bullying a boy in school, even gone so far to actually hit him. They went a little too far one day and got sent to the principles office. They called us to go there and meet the principal and the two boys but I couldn't get out of work, but my husband could. He pissed, absolutely furious at our son. He yelled and screamed at him for I don't know how long. He was close to putting his hand on him but fortunately he didn't. He made our son apologize, he went to all of his friends parents and told them what happened and he is making our son walk with the other boy home from school every day, just in case some body else is bullying him. That's all good and I agree with every thing. But he is also treating our son like air, like he doesn't exist. I understand that he is disappointed but he is a teenage boy. He needs has father and having his father treat him like a ghost is not good. I don't think so at least. What do you think?
