Question: (LDS) early or later temple sealing? Posted: 30 Aug 2016 09:25 PM PDT My fiancé and I are planning on an evening reception but already scheduled our sealing for 12pm. However, now we're thinking we may have to change it to a later time in the day because our reception wouldn't start 'til the evening and if we have our sealing at 12pm we'd need to find something to do during all that time before our reception starts (because the sealing isn't that long.) Should we change the sealing time for later in the afternoon so that afterwards it's easier to just leave straight to the reception? How have you LDS couples who've gotten married in the temple with an evening reception done it? Advice is much appreciate, we're new to this process. Thank you! |
Posted: 30 Aug 2016 06:30 PM PDT I am attending my sister in law s wedding in 2 weeks and I had a question about what to wear. So my sister in law and my wife got into a little argument about a year ago and it lasted a month tops well during that argument some words were said and my wife and I are no longer in the wedding party. Both my wife and her sister are on good terms now like nothing happened. My thing is I wasn t sure what to wear to the to the wedding. I purchased a navy blue (the wedding colors are grey and yellow) maxi dress. It has a sheer navy blue overlay and it s khaki color underneath and is floor length. After buying it I am wondering now if it is too fancy or I will look like I m trying to "fit in" with the wedding party although it s completely not the same color. I purchased it because my wife and I will be in the wedding photos and I loved it. My other question is what do little girls who aren t in the wedding party wear? My daughter wants to wear a puffy dress that is navy blue and yellow it looks like a flower girl dress just because of the princess factor. She isn t very girly so this is a first that she had asked to wear a big dress. Would it be okay to put her in a fancy dress for the wedding? Thank you! |
Question: Can I wear my wedding band before the wedding? Posted: 30 Aug 2016 05:24 PM PDT My engagement ring is too big without the band with it, but I was told by the jeweler that sizing it can damage the ring, stones would be loose, and the metal would be weak.. So they just recommended that I combine the 2 parts together. We arent getting married for another couple years, so would that be okay? Is that like alright, any sort of bad luck? |
Question: Best venues for a November wedding? Posted: 30 Aug 2016 05:15 PM PDT What are some great venues for a wedding in November (upstate ny) other then the traditional church or hotel? |
Posted: 30 Aug 2016 03:53 PM PDT Me and my boyfriend met a few years ago, when I was an exchange student in high school. The problem is that we live in different countries, he's from USA and I'm from Brazil,so after a year being an exchange student, I came back home. We're still together, we talk everyday, but we only see each other face to face once a year, sometimes twice a year if we're lucky, and although it's really hard to keep a relationship like this, we've been together for 4 years. Last month he had a talk about our situation, and he kept saying how much he hates being away from me, and that he wanted me to be closer to him, and he ended up asking me to marry him and move to USA. I told him this would be a big change in my life, and I need to think about it. The truth is that I don't want to marry him now, because I don't want to move. I have a life here: I work, I study, I have family, and I have friends. And I know he also has a life over there, so I wouldn't ask him to drop everything and come live with me. But I'm scared to say no, and make him wonder if I don't love him, because I do, he's one of the most important people in my life. I just think maybe it's not time for this yet, and I don't know when will it be. And there's another problem, I get a feeling that he's really tired of being in a long distance relationship, and I completely understand how he feels, but I honestly don't know how much longer this relationship will last if I say no.What should I do with my life?Btw, we're both 21 |
Question: How to get a gigantic wedding cake? Posted: 30 Aug 2016 02:16 PM PDT My lazy Fiancee has left me with the planning of the wedding. As always, I will just do all the work. But, she had one demand, one which I agree with, it needs to be comically large. It needs to be so large people do a double-take. Scale-wise, i'd like it to be about 3 1/2 feet tall. Also, I need it to be cake all the way through. I don't want half of it to be cake and the other half of it to be Styrofoam. The catering company does not sell cakes that big, and do not customize, i've tried negotiating. Speaking of which, don't refrain from telling me where I can find one because you think it's too expensive, I have no budget for this cake. Thanks. I'm sorry, I said 3 1/2 feet, I meant 6 1/2 feet. I messed that up. I didn't know Yahoo was filled with people who don't take things seriously. I hope you all get raped and killed. |
Question: I have a friend that invited me to a wedding but I have no idea what to wear? Posted: 30 Aug 2016 02:13 PM PDT Are there specific colors I shouldn't wear and would me having tattoos be something that I should try to hide for a wedding of a family that I don't know? Also which store would you go to buy clothing for a wedding? |
Question: Trying to find unusual groom's jacket? Posted: 30 Aug 2016 01:35 PM PDT My fiancé and I were thinking it might be nice for him to wear a traditional black suit but with blue lapels to complement the accents blue in my dress but I can't find any pictures!! Can anybody help me in finding images like that online please? It's OK if instead of blue the lapels can be red or or white, anything other than black and I can alter the image on the computer to be the right color blue anyhow Thanks! |
Question: Cheap Wedding Venues in Albuquerque, New Mexico? Posted: 30 Aug 2016 01:29 PM PDT My fiance and I are getting married in late September of 2017. We are both still in school, and most of our money goes towards tuition, so we don't have a lot of money to spend on the wedding/venue. Preferably we would like it indoors, but outside will work too. We are looking for somewhere to host both the ceremony and reception and are expecting no more than 100 people. Does anyone know somewhere under $500-$1000? Thank you so much! By "school" I mean college, sorry if there was any confusion! |
Question: Local or an all-inclusive destination wedding? Posted: 30 Aug 2016 01:29 PM PDT My fiancé and I are planning on getting married in one year. We are in Colorado where both of our immediate families currently live. However, he has family on the east coast and I have family from Europe who will be traveling the farthest to come here. We originally thought of a local wedding, but now I'm starting to think that we might as well have a wedding in the Caribbean since some family and friends are traveling anyway... I figured why not make the most out of everyone's trip? Staying at an all-inclusive resort, there's no extra charge for food, drinks, some extracurricular activities, and we all get to spend more time together! PLUS once we are at the resort, it'll be less of a hassle for guests to get places because the venue/reception will be in the resort. Our guest list is at about 180, but I know FOR SURE not that many people would come to the destination wedding. But all we really care about is spending time with our families (who we don't get to see often). I spoke to my parents about this and they think it's a great idea, and also cheaper! (except on the guests part, which is a con). What do you think? Have any of you had a destination wedding? Anyone have a local wedding where a bunch of family came from out of town? |
Question: Is it ok to wear same dress to sons weddings? Posted: 30 Aug 2016 10:09 AM PDT |
Posted: 30 Aug 2016 08:47 AM PDT To raise funds for the wedding couple you can have the community get together and pay $20/couple to share good burgers and hot dogs and beer and then you can put other money on raffle giveaways such as a television or gift certificates or memorabilia Then the couple can raise a few thousand towards the wedding all in good fun |
Question: Where do couples from different regions usually get married? Posted: 30 Aug 2016 03:19 AM PDT Is it customary for them to get married at the country/region of the bride or the country/region of the bridegroom? Or do they just marry at the place they intend to live and the families of both have to travel there for the wedding? |
