Sometimes I feel lonely when even my best buddies are around. I m not sure why. Maybe it s because they don t talk to me sometimes, or I m too boring. I always feel like a 3rd/5th wheel in friend groups. I know I sound like I m hungry for attention, but I just want a friend to talk to directly.

Well my best friend is a guy thats 17 and im 14 hes a long distance friend that my family doesnt know about, but ive known him for 3 years and his parents are kicking him out and he has no where else to go. I asked my parents if they had a friend and they became homless would you let them stay here and they said no. Does anyone know how I can get my parents to let him stay here?

I honestly feel like for the last few months that i just need to recreate my life from start...starting with friends. Im in my twenties so im nervous about maybe it being harder to make new friends but the ones i have now are "annoying" me too much. i know no one is perfect and im sure i annoy them at times..but i mean i just dont feel like their real friends. Like not really listening to me..only messaging me when they need someone to go somewhere with but never really ask about me or how i am..One is messaging me now asking to go to a concert with her but i know thats cuz someone else couldnt go with her. And she didnt bother messaging me before then. Idk just doesnt feel real..How do i get away and start over without looking like a bad person cutting them off

Her parents are getting divorced. Mine got divorced when I was 5, and hers are now, almost a decade later, and she is handling it extremely well, compared to me. I STILL haven't gotten over it. She didn't even tell me, my mom did. I know this one is a bit stupid, but I was saving up my money in an online game, and she spent it all after I agreed to help her get some items. I was hurt by that and felt a bit used. It's over a game, but I was still upset about it. I don't think she's doing this on purpose, but I'm just not strong enough myself to help her. I'm broken and insane inside. She's far from it. So long story short I cut my bestfriend off with no explanation because she is beyond the most manipulative person I've ever met . lies steals cheat and only hits me up in her convenience. I'm a freshman and I get worried over the choices I make which is good but lately I've felt like a rebellious teen or a bad influence or like a popular kid that does bad things to seem cool. I start high school tomorrow, and I'm BEYOND nervous. I'm freaking out because theirs so many people (3000 kids I think), and I won't see my friends as much. And I will have so much homework. And my high school is sooooo big (it has 4 floors), so what if I get lost? In each of my classes I have at least one friend except for Theater Arts. It has 30 people in it, they're all from different schools, and I know none of them. It's not really a question but more something that I want to type out if that makes sense? Anyway, I was at a family get together this weekend from Thursday to Sunday. It was all of my family on my dad's side, and then my dad's brother invited one of his friends who happens to have 2 daughters kind of around my age. I just turned 18, and one is a Junior in high school so I presume 17, and the other is just starting high school and is most likely 14. At first when I got there, it was kind of awkward to have them there. Oh, and there was another girl that I think turned 15? Anyway, I was kind of weirded out by them being there at first. But after the first day, I was alright with it as I didn't talk to them and I did my own stuff. And as time went on, I started to become attracted one of the girls, and it was Freshman. I know she is way too young for me to date which is alright as I wouldn't want to anyway. I really wanted to be her friend, but didn't know how to go about it without embarrassing myself in front of my family or her sister. It took me until Saturday night to actually make that happen. We were playing games and it was me, the girl I liked, her sister, the other 15 year old, and her mom. And it was a game that I happened to be on her team. Anyway, after that, almost everyone at the house played another game. And I was on her team again. This game required you to act out and describe certain people. So this gave me a chance to kind of have the attention on me. And she would be focused on me. I would look at her a little more than the rest of my teammates to get comfortable? I don't really know how to describe it, but basically trying to get her comfortable with me and also acknowledging me. And it worked. Because she started looking at me more when it was her turn. When the first game ended, only a few of us played again, and she was on my team again. Lucky I guess, but this is where it really became obvious she noticed me. Because she almost exclusively looked at me when it was her turn to act. And when it was my turn I would also look at her. This may sound creepy, but if you think about it, it's what you do when someone likes you. Anyway, I would talk to her while it was the other teams turn or whatnot. And eventually I was completely comfortable talking to her and being around her. At the very end, I asked if she had a FaceBook so we could be friends, but she didn't have one. Only and Instagram. And that was the end of Saturday. It made me feel good on the inside. Because I felt as if I made a new friend and she did too. We had to leave early Sunday morning, so I didn't get a chance to talk to her, but I really wanted her number. But if I asked for it, I didn't want her to get the impression I wanted to date her, just chat back and forth. She ended up leaving and I never got the chance to talk to her or get any contact info which REALLY bummed me out. It was like it was all for nothing. I always think of her and how bad I wanted her number, however I could not do anything about it. I could not come up with a way to ask for it without seeming like I wanted a relationship, so I did not say anything. I really want to talk to her, but I don't know what to do at this point. Just give up on her? It would be way too hard for me to do. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Like it may seem creepy that I wanted to bond with a girl 4 years younger than me, but I really do like her. Saturday night was great, but now I feel like I wasted my time. I don't know if she thought anything of it or if she also thinks about me, so that's why I'm bummed out. I'm not gonna get an Instagram just to follow her as that would be weird. It just really sucks for me right now.

I want to go to homecoming with my other friend and my XC team. But I also want to go to the amusement park too. Which is like 2-3 hours away from where I live. I might be on varsity for XC so I can't miss meets. Plus my family stays for the weekend since we have season passes to the amusement park. So they need to book the hotel. Should I just stay home and let them go while I go to homecoming and my meet cause my friend can take me?

I am shy and socially awkward. I would struggle maintaining conversations. I'm a nice person. Once I feel comfortable around someone, I become loud and outgoing. So my best friend, let s say her name is Olivia, is mad at me for three reasons. We have a really close group with three boys and us. We went to our school football game the other night and Olivia left early so I was with two of the boys. One of them, we ll say Patrick, gave me some skittles so I jokingly said "Aww Patrick, you re my best friend." He texts Olivia and tells her that I said that he was my best friend and I was serious. On friday, a couple of my friends and I hung out and while we were together, all of my friends were making some uncalled for comments about my friend Grace (anon name). It was about how she's a prude, uptight, and is so awkward in the group. They even made fun of her for almost getting into a car accident one time because she didn't look behind her to switch lanes. I'm a girl.the first day of class I had really bad anxiety and I couldn't talk to anyone. My anxiety went away after school started. I have 4 really close friends and I always try really hard to make sure im not annoying and am a good friend and always make sure nobody is upset or left out, but in this group it's separated into 2 pairs of best friends and then me. They are all great friends and I really love them but I kind of wish I was someone's best friend... Alright, so this is going to sound rather elementary. I just have no idea what to do. This girl and I have been inseparable since Junior year of high school. We worked so well together, as friends, and I honestly didn't think anything could put a damper on our friendship. She got in a relationship, and I was willing to share my best friend (lol), and was even okay with her 'ditching' me for him every ONCE in a while. But the longer they dated, the more frequently she'd ditch me for him. Strike one, I suppose. Over the summer, I got into a relationship myself. And it's perfect. Very funny. This site is so censored and ridiculously scrutinized by "trusted members" that there is no way I would invite my friends to join. Maybe if YA did an audit of the "trusted members" who repeatedly report people for no apparent reason other than : because they can I would consider it. My friends like to do things where they advance not spend every waking moment trying to advance with no prize at the end.

I have no friends at all. None. Friend- a person that helps you, believes in you, loves you, protects you, doesnt gossip about you. It's so hard to find a true friend. I have none. I have somekinda social anxiety, i am scared to talk to people, doctors, dentists, librarians... everyone. Some people seem so open and talkative and i cant open up and speak normally if i dont know a person a bit better. But what people dont realise is that i can love like no other. Here s what happened. We had our first football game of the season at school on Friday. Apparently we had talked about it a week before and I had tol her I was down to go. Keep in mind I never told her we WERE ACTUALLY gonna go, I just told her I was down. Keep in mind she never confirmed with me that she and I were supposed to go. She never checked with me the day before or anything if we were still on for going On Friday morning, she asked when were going to buy the tickets and I was confused and asked what she meant. She told me that we were gonna go and I told her that I thought I only agreeed to going to the Homecoming game and she disagreed. She went through her phone and sent me a screen shot along with saying "F***** B****" and didn t talk to me for the rest of the day. We share a class together and she actually cried to her mom to come pick her up from school so she wouldn t have to see me. She went and put it on social media saying she hates when people make plans and cancel them cause they have other plans . The "plans" I had instead of enjoying my friday night were my responsibilities to do laundry and my homework so I wouldn t fail my class. I seriously didn t do anything wrong and she got upset over nothing! She took it to another level. If anyone thinks differently and think she s right, let me know cause I seriously don t see the problem here.

I ran a little experiment over the course of a week. I wanted to see how many texts I would get, if I didnt text first. I got one. It was telling me to get on video games and play. The other 3-4 texts were asking me about homework and to give them the answers. I was added to a group chat for a school math class. I got a text asking if i would check it. I did and everyone was asking for my answers. I asked them why people only talked to me when they needed me and everyone denied it. I sent them a tutorial video teaching them how to do the problems and the only responses were that they wanted the answers and not a tutorial. I told them they would fail the test if they just got he answers then i stopped replying. I think I am just going to ignore people from now on over texts. I dont get it. Why do they do this?

Hi, I'm a 24 year old single guy. I have a friend who is 30 years old, married, with a 2 year old. We met at work 2 years ago and have been close since. One day after we were driving home from work he invited me over to his house for coffee. While we were there, his 2 year old wanted to play around. Then the 2 year old took me to his room to play with his toys. So I went to the kid's room and me and the kid played for like 5 min while my friend and his wife stayed in the living room. Was it rude that I went with the kid? I was just trying to be nice, but now I feel like I should've just not gone with the kid and stayed with my friend and his wife to talk and stuff. They probably think I'm childish for going with the kid, and will probably not invite me over again...right?

Last week, I was vacationing at a beach town with my sister. One day, we walked along the beach then entered a slightly crowded area. Three guys on bikes rode slowly through the street. As me and my sister were passing the three bikes, the three bikes stopped. The middle bicyclist looked at me, then pressed hard on his bell twice, making a loud "DING DING" at me. I jumped, almost kicking myself in the process. He then turned to his friend behind him, and they giggled like schoolgirls then rode off. I told my mum this story when we got back, and she said: "there are plenty of sissies out there" So yeah the guy who did it - and his friends - they looked to be no younger than 19, maybe in their 20s to mid 30s. So for a guy to do this to a stranger - and a female at that - is this a sign of bad upbringing and stupidity or something more like intimidation/ harassment?

Hello, I am when not pregnant, a loner. I do enjoy the company of friends here and there, but really I prefer to be alone most of the time. I do have social anxiety, and sometimes it is just too much to try to make conversation with someone. It seems that has gotten worse as I have become pregnant. All I want to do all day long( on my off day) is lay around in Pjs and just chill by myself.(read a book, watch tv, play video games, ect.) My SIL has really been trying to hang out with me this weekend. I told her I was tired last night, but now she is trying to hang out today. People don't get it when I say, "I like being alone," or "I need alone time," or "I don't feel like doing anything today." I literally just told her "Im feeling lazy today, like I want to just stay in my pjs and relax all day." This is the repsone I get from her" I know what you mean, I don't want to do anything either. I just want to be in the house, but not my house, I feel like I'm going crazy." I don't understand! I love being in my house, being alone. I don't want to be rude, but I really don't know how to handle this. I'm pretty sure if she even did come over I would have to go pick her up and take her home. She lives a good 10-15 mins away. Any advice? I have had friends like this also, always pushing to hang out. It's not that I don't like her, but I am not that close to her, and making conversation would be a big effort for me.

I have some ex friends who hurt me badly and betrayed me and sent me into a deeper depression. Now I have been working on moving on, I have met new friends and everything is getting brighter each day BUT every time certain songs or shows that we used to listen to and watch come on.... I think of them. We used to listen to the same music, play the same games, and everything together... and I know they are still enjoying all these things without me. How do I enjoy these things again without associating it with them?

Every year I feel so hopeless about coming back to school because I have nothing to look forward to. I had friends freshman year but they dwindle down every year. A lot of friends have moved off campus or went separate ways... I usually burn out every week by Wednesday or Thursday with my work load. The weekends consist of me going back to the library and doing homework all day and hopefully getting everything done so I can watch a movie or something before I go to bed. It just saddens me seeing everyone on social media having fun and I'm not. It seems like no one wants to be my friend. I am in about 3 clubs but no one really talks to me outside of those clubs even though I am so nice and friendly. I just hate having to eat alone, its just embarrassing since I'm an upperclassman... I really need to enjoy life..I understand I come to school for an education but I shouldn't hate my life in the process.

So here's the the story a couple months ago I was thinking of moving back to my hometown because of a job I was gonna get near there getting paid about $12/hour. Now we've had a lot of trouble finding a place to rent that's in our price range. So I decided to just buy a house instead but the day after I decided this my dad is offering me a job paying me triple what I get paid now plus free living. I don't want to screw my friend because this may be the last chance to move out of his parents house, but if I take the job I will be able to pay off my student loan in a month and can buy a house in this area within two years. What do I do?

Soooo... I'm going into 8th grade this year and NO ONE I really know is in my gym class. Some girls I find really annoying or rude. The other girls might have a best friend that they focus on in gym. I feel awkward when I ask someone for their name. Idk if this helps at all but I have gym the last period of the day and the doors we're dismissed through is right in the gym lobby... and btw plz answer even if there is a best answer or this is from a decade ago. My cousin has been copying me for YEARS. When I was younger, I thought it was cool and we could be twins. Now I'm older it's been irritating. I really like to make amvs, and then a few days later, I made a amv account. A day later my cousin found out about it and made herself one. And even blocked me. I found out about er amv account on a different account. I told her about it and she screamed that she wasn't copying me. I made a Instagram account, and posted my musical.lys there. She made herself one. I made a myspace account so we could chat on there since we live far away and she has a android and I have a iOS. She copied me layout and info word for word. Not including her name and stuff. She's way older then me, and has a better life then I do. Help?

So an online friend isn't responding to anything. She thinks that everyone hates her recently because she was spamming us with pictures of a gorilla and we were jokingly posting "HELP" "SOS" "I'M DROWNING IN GORILLA PICTURES" etc. So eventually it just was to much and someone reported her to the moderator for spam after a while and she banned her for a little bit. Also we all were in a small private community that I made for another friend's follower milestone, and for fun, I made LITERALLY EVERYONE a moderator, (I kind of regret that) and someone used the power for evil and banned everyone and created havoc and my friend took that personally and everyone was trying to figure out who it was and her name was suggested a few times and she thinks we hate her and blame her for it and NOTHING I said would get her to realize that we loved her and didn't want her to leave. I should add that she has anxiety and depression and self- harms, and that made me really worried. She recently posted this: So I'm going to be leaving forever now. Because I'm ready to. She also draws cats, and today she posted a cat with angel-like wings, which scared me even more, because I'm worried that means she is going to kill herself. So it all started out last month, this girl (lets call her ellie) was treating my friend very badly so i ended our friendship. About 2 days ago, Ellie started verbally harrassing my friends. I texted her to please stop doing this and about how immature she was being. She then started insulting me and telling me i was a stupid ugly slut that deserved to be depressed. (On a side note, ellie lied and told all my friends i told her to kill herself) i texted her fighting back saying it was ok that i didnt want to be friends with her And that she should move on with her life and stop bothering my friends and i. About an hour later, she texted me saying that she would file a restraining order. I was shocked, I m only barely a 15 year old girl and she was the one who started harrassing my friends and i when i havent spoken to her in FOREVER. Can she even do this!!!!
