Posted: 21 Aug 2016 05:40 PM PDT We aren't in any kind of relationship, just friends. For now. I'm afraid now. I'm not emotionally ready for sex. He is a good guy, he wouldn't ask me to do anything but he has experiance. I have none. Today I was with my best friend at his place and the subject was somehow virgins. My friend and I both are. He asked if we think he is a virgin, we said yes (although he has had 4 girlfriends) and he said he's not. I was completely shocked. Is this normal? He is 15. I just can't. I'm not planing to have sex until I'm 18. I know that isn't some kind of magic number but I'm just not ready. What do? I'm just not a type of person for a relationship atm. I'm really shy and antisocial. |
Question: How can I tell my gay friends I don't want to talk to them anymore? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 05:13 PM PDT I have a handful of friends who happen to be gay. I used to love them and have good times with them. But after they came out as gay I want nothing to do with them anymore. How do I tell them this as nicely as possible? |
Question: Is it weird I don't want my housemates eating my food? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 05:07 PM PDT So I'm living in an apartment with three other guys who are my friends. We have a kitchen and they put all their stuff in there. I put some of my stuff in there, but a lot of it Im keeping in my room. Stuff that I'll eat for breakfast and stuff I want to cook for dinner like rice, beans, soups, etc. I like to have my own stuff that I pay for, things like eggs, milk, etc is fine for me to share, but do you think they'd think it'd weird if they knew? |
Question: I need help overcoming my social anxiety and making friends.? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 05:00 PM PDT Hello, so im 18 and ive been in 4 different high schools in the last 5 years. i lived in my country of birth (Algeria) for almost 14 years and moved to the US for 2 years and returned back to Algeria for 11th and 12th grade. before i moved to the US i made a total of 5 friends (who stuck with me) in the 11 years ive lived there, i then moved to the US and made 3 friends in the 2 years (only one was close, others were only school friends), i then moved back to Algeria due to Visa problems, and made a total of 0 friends after returning. My social anxiety has worsened year after year, it started out with me not being able to talk to girls, then ended up with me not being able to talk to people in general. im now going to a university in Alabama and i want to actually make friends, and hopefully a girlfriend, i need tips on achieving that, and on overcoming my social anxiety. |

Question: Fake friends... Help? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 04:22 PM PDT Hi. So school is starting in a couple of days and I don't know what to do... This really makes my emotions mix because of people that I thought are my friends. This is the story. I met a girl on my street when I was really young. Ever since we've been great friends. As the years were going by we started drifting apart and meeting new friends and I didn't want to expand my friend group. But I did. I met friends with a lot of people but 3 of them were some of my great friends. Then what happened was the next year we got to middle school and they all ( my 3 friends + the girl) were all in the same classes. And guess what? I wasn't. So I had to meet new people. Then guess what again? It happened the next year as well. She invites me to her parties and all but she does it to act like she has a lot of friends. Our whole group is the popular group but I don't wanna give it all up, but I'm clearly being used. Then fast forward through that whole year I have felt left out and used. They claim that I'm there friends but they always have hangouts at each other's houses and never invite me, always go to the movies, never invite me. I really don't know what to do at this point. Please please help. |

Question: How can a make my life better? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 03:53 PM PDT A few days ago, my "friend" was caught stealing my cousin's iPhone. He lied, saying that it "fell into his bag". Now my my cousins and my aunt and uncle want nothing o do with me for some reason, and I've lost my only friend. My family and I don't have much money. They can't afford to send me to school (i'm 16, by the way), so I have to stay at home all day. I try and make some money by buying and selling stuff on Ebay. This means that I'm on my computer all day. I used to be very active; one of my favorite things was doing gymnastics with my friend. But lately, I haven't even had the energy or motivation to even get out of bed. We live with the constant threat of our land-lord throwing us out, as we are about $1000 behind in debt. This is the third week running that we haven't been able to afford food. We have been eating avocados from a tree at the bottom of the garden, and that's pretty much it. I just can't take it anymore. Is there any way I can make more money for my family so we don't have to live like this. |
Question: How to reject my friends? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 03:51 PM PDT So my friends yesterday asked me if i wanted to go out with them and i said yes because i was pressured to say yes from my parents.I hate going out and i barely leave my house. The thing is,i told them that we are going to meet on wednesday but for more details as to where and when we are going to go,we will talk on tuesday night.I really dont want to go out and how can i reject them? Like i was pressured to say on wednesday by my parents and now if i reject it will look like im planning all the things then rejecting them after.I need good excuses for this as i used to reject them too in the past so now i need new ideas. It will mean so much if you help me because im really not feeling like going out and stuff. Thanks in advance. |
Question: My friend is my boss? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 03:50 PM PDT Notice how I put "friend" first. He was my friend before he was my boss. We both started working at Walmart about 4 years ago, when we were 18, and he's climbed the corporate ladder pretty quickly. He's now a senior manager there, and I'm still a regular employee. Anyway, I don't like how we can have great conversations then he says "Okay, now mop the floors by noon please." I feel like I'm "equal yet inferior". Like how a dog must feel around his human companion. What should I do? |
Question: Is this emotional abuse, what should I do? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 03:41 PM PDT My aunt calls me names such as "you are a selfish little *****" she says she is disgusted by how I live" she calls me fat, she has pulled me by my hair to the kitchen and beat me gave me a slight concussion, she has degraded me, has pushed me aside ignored me. What do I do? I don t know what to do anymore, I can t keep living like this I can t keep hurting every day. |

Question: I didn't respond to a message an friend sent me three weeks ago and I feel really bad? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 03:32 PM PDT Okay so my birthday was three weeks ago and today i was looking through my instagram DMs and i noticed one from a girl i was friends with that moved. in the dm she wished me a happy birthday and she gave me her number so we could plan a lunch date with her and my other friend and she sent it three weeks ago on my birthday. I responded right now apologizing, but i feel horrible because I responded so late. The thing is I've been active on instagram liking pictures and stuff, even hers. Im also not super close with her which makes me feel worse, I honestly didn't even she the message until now and I don't want her to think I was being rude. She hasn't responded to the message and I feel so bad:( What should i do |
Posted: 21 Aug 2016 03:18 PM PDT Am i the only one that doesnt like to hang out with people outside and would rather stay at home watch some film and eat food? Like i dont have the need to go out,im more than fine at home.People think im weird and should go out more often.Whenever my friends ask me to hang out i always tell them "yeah we need to hang out" and they ask when and im like "well in the next few days" and i say that over and over and it never happens.Im a ternager by the way,i feel like i dont need to put my exact age.My parents often tell me to go out with my friends but i refuse.Atleast they should be happy that im not getting drunk at clubs or doing something like that.I think they are pretty lucky that im not like most of the people my age.Does anybody else feel the same way? |

Question: I want to find friends my own age, but is that even possible at this point? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 03:11 PM PDT I graduated from college and my friends are all over the country. I just turned 23 and some of the new friends I made range from 26-mid thirties. The reason I ask this is that the points in our lives are completely different. It gets annoying (mostly) when I try to go out to party and many of them say "I m over that scene" "I m too old for that" "I grew out of that" Does anyone understand where I m coming from? I feel like if I was friends with someone around my age, we would have the same maturity level. Some of my friends are also getting married soon so....I m not even close to that Any tips? It s hard to determine ages on Meetup groups too :( |
Question: Did I give my friend good advice? Your opinion PLEASE.? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 02:41 PM PDT I got a call from my friend Alice who wanted to meet me for lunch. She had a problem she wanted my advice on. At lunch, she told me her son in law (her daughter's husband) wanted her to loan him some money. She had already made him 3 loans and he had not paid any of those 3 loans back. She wanted to know if she should make him a 4th loan. I told her this is a VERY TOUGH situation. She should probably consider the 3 pervious loans as gifts as the odds are VERY LOW they will be paid back. I told her I think the best approach would be to tell him that after he paid back the previous loans, she would consider making him a new loan. I told her to be prepared from a bad reaction from him and also possibly from her daughter. If there are grand children involved, be prepared to hear you will not see your grand children again. I told Alice to think very carefully what she wanted to do. I predict if she made another loan, there will be a request for a 5th loan in the future. I hope I gave her good advice. Do you think I did? |

Question: Are they treating me different at work because I am a woman? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 02:29 PM PDT I am a single mom working in an office of 9 people. I am the only woman in the office. My coworkers are the greatest guys ever and I love them dearly. They are always available to help me when I need help. I trust them completely. If I have to take time off for a school event or to take my child to a dr. appointment, they will cover for me. On the few occasions I have unexpectedly had to work late, one of them will pick up my child from school, take her to a restaurant for a meal and then take her to my home and stay with her until I get there. They will not take any money for doing these things for me. I was telling my female friends that I strongly believe in equal treatment of women in the workplace and that is what happens at my place of work. All pay and promotions are based on merit. They pointed out to me that all the things my fellow employees are doing for me looks to them like they are doing it because I am a woman. They asked me if I had ever done anything similar for the guys and the answer was no. Am I getting special treatment because I am a woman or is it because I am a single mom? |
Question: I'm so confused about what to do with this one "friend" help? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 02:27 PM PDT So I met that girl in the first day of collage and we became "friends". But she appeared to be two-faced, she even treated me in a different way than the others, more like she "owned" me and if I said "no" to anything she wanted then she would leave me and go to every girl in my class and tell them lies about me. I couldn't stop her in the beginning bc I didn't know about it. I ended up only having her and tried to do my best to endure how bad she used to treat me. I did my best to be good to her bc she had some problems with her family and her confidence. And I also had no one to be with bc of her. But she just made my whole life worser and worser. I ended up cutting and being mentally hurt by her. I tried to avoid talking to her many times but she always got mad and went to the girls that I used to talk with and "took them from me". So I tried to change collage, but it wasn't possible due to different systems with collages. So all I could do was to change classes which means I will still be able to see her. I'm afraid that she will keep telling lies about me with my old classmates or I'm even more afraid to end up in a fight with her... Do you guys have any good tips on how to avoid her and live a new school life? Or anything inspirational about being positive in school? I have two more years on that collage :( I'm thankful for useful answers. |
Posted: 21 Aug 2016 02:24 PM PDT Tomorrow is my first day of high school and I have like no friends..well at least one true close friend. I transferred in 6th grade from my elementary school and I was really close to everyone there with all my cousins and best friends and then my parents divorced and we moved, in middle school I felt like I was a nuisance to everyone I hung out with and in 8th grade I met my best friend but I dont fit in with her group and it sucks a lot. I am crying and I have social anxiety. I know my mom would say no to online schooling but I don't know what I'm going to do at school. I really am upset I'm not going to the high school I was planning on going to and it sucks a lot. I don't know what to do please help. |

Question: How to turn an acquaintance into a friend? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 01:57 PM PDT So I have this acquaintance that I've known for like a year and a half and I'm interested in becoming friends with this person. I'm pretty generous to him since he's often asking me for favors. We don't actually see each other in person that often though but we contact each other on the phone. I don't know why but I feel like I'll never be successful in making him a friend. Any advice? |

Question: Are my best friends jealous of me? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 01:22 PM PDT everybody likes me. Dunno why. I get straight As everything and smile which I find kinda dorky. Nobody likes a dork. People tell me I'm pretty/cute everyday even strangers! I don't think its true. But wherever I go guys often end up staring. I'm a good girl I've never dated or crushed on anyone. My friends get Bs moan about it. I offer to help them they say no. When I tell them I got an A they look down and say thats good. They often make stuff up about me. I have a guy friend, he's my brother's best friend's brother and I told my friends about how he taught me how to use photoshop. and they turned it into a love story. They told everyone and I go out with him. These older boys came up to me telling me they love me, but I don't have time for boys so I blushed a little but ignored them and told them not to tell everyone.By the time period 9 ended everyone knows, they again told everyone! A guy likes me told them at my house by the next day everyone knows! They spread. A guy said he looked into my eyes, they spread it. One of them, took a picture of me, and one of my other besties and when she asked her to delete it she did. But when I asked they said no showed it to the whole class and threatned to post it on instagram. I'm sick of it. All the time its just me. I want the guys leave me alone, they know I'm not intrested and still bug me. I want my besties to stop spreading stuff and delete the picture. Are my friends jealous if so I don't understand why? I'm just a dork. |
Question: What sports team should I choose? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 12:52 PM PDT For the fall season, I have been invited to be on two separate teams. They are both travel teams, but one is a little more elite. There are pros and cons to both. The less elite one does not travel as far away, is not as intense, has more people I like on it, and travels to a place I want to go because I have a friend who lives there. But the other would better prepare me for the spring season, looks a lot better to school coaches, and travels far away. It also has people on it that I like, but those people are friends with people I do not like and I don't really want to go to these far away tournaments and not really have any good friends on the team to hangout with. Which one would you do? |
Question: How to stop stress eating? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 12:47 PM PDT Hi! So I've had a tough week ever since I got home from vacation. It's kind of for a stupid reason but I have ocd and some weird tiny disability. I texted my guy friend if he wanted to oh mini golfing with me next week (texted him wednsday morning) and no response. I feel awful he has forgotten one of my other texts before and felt so bad about it. I invited him to hangout with me and my best friend last month and we all had a great time. He's a super nice person and I know he cares about me. We aren't super close but we are defintely friends. Anyways my mood has been like a roller coaster one moment I feel I'm healed the next I feel miserable. I hate my job so much and I went for an hour today then went home cause I felt emotionally drained. I ate more last night too. Right now I'm at starbucks and had a brownie and a pizza pretzel (ugh!!) the thing is I'm a healthy person and excersise regularly 3 times a week and watch calories (140 pounds) lost 5 this summer. I need help I hate stress eating and I start college in 2 weeks |
Question: An ex friend unblocked me, should i text her? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 12:45 PM PDT So like a few weeks ago i had a fight with a friend who is now my ex friend, she said some things, i said some regretful things, and she blocked me. Now, because i still care, i would randomly check her medias (im not desperate i swear, i just really care about my friendships, and people, in general) and today, i saw something a bit weird, she unblocked me on every social media, after weeks, she unblocked me. And now i came here for advice, SHOULD I message her? I said some regretful things, she insulted me too, but, if she didnt care at all, why would she unblock me? Should i go for it? Should i apologize (again) and try and be a better friend? I dont want to seem desperate, so, any advice? |

Question: How should I make my "friend" pay for what she did? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 12:03 PM PDT I know the question sounds stupid, but hear me out. So I got this shirt from a campaign for the Orlando victims (this is also gonna sound ironic since campaigns are supposed to spread positivity), which means I can't get another one. On the first day of school, we were doing this thing where we dip our hand in paint and put our handprint on a digit of the year we graduate, and she had the GENIUS idea to, while I was cleaning my hands in a bucket, stick her painted hand on the back of my black shirt. At first, I did nothing because I thought it would come out after I washed it, but nope. She did get most of the paint off, but there's still a bunch of white chippy stuff on the back of my shirt. So, essentially, she ruined what was my favorite irreplaceable shirt. Not only did I have wear it because I loved it, but I wore it as a reminder that I actually did something good for once and as a symbol of positivity (it said I am enough on it as well, along with a rainbow heart.) Now I want to make her pay, and I'm VERY tempted to break her nose, but I'm not exactly sure how I should make her pay without doing the whole nosebreaking business. She's been pissing me off with her petty actions for years, but this drew the line and something's going to happen. |

Question: How can I make good conversation with people? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 11:31 AM PDT I was always always and I still am a very shy and introvert person. I don't have friends, I only have my family and my pets. I had some friends, but of course one time they had to leave me. Anyway, the thing is that I tried to become friends with so many people from my ex school or just simply start a conversation, I just suck at it soo bad, I don't know what to do, I need friends and someone to socialize with, but when I try to start a conversation with someone it just ends up very quickly because all we chat about it's just "Heey How are you- Fine thanks, you?- I'm cool" AND THATS JUST ALL. I also tried to ask them things like "how was your day?" "what have you been doing all this time?", and all they answer with it's just "oh yeah idk nothing" "stuff", and then I'm like "oh alright then", I need some good topics that you can have long chats about it, not "what is your favorite color/dog?". I really need help |

Posted: 21 Aug 2016 11:28 AM PDT So my best friend (one of them) has this big end of summer party coming up. She didn't invite me because I don't get along with one of the three girls coming, and this is within reason. They were so so mean to me so I ignored them and wouldn't talk to them. She snapchatted me saying "I don't want you to be mad because you're like my best friend" and then told me. I said it wasn't me and how I made up with one of the girls, and that I would like to be friends with the other two. They don't want to be friends with me though. She said she would ask her mom if I could he invited but I can't. Now I feel so sad because this girl is my best friend and I'm hers....she said it. Should I be upset about this? I've made efforts with the other girls but they don't accept me. They said I'm too heavy (I'm not, I've battled anorexia and arfid, I'm still underweight and look it) and ugly (I have a big forehead, blackheads, and only wear mascara) and I've tried to be nice. I'm just really sad. If I'm her best friend I should go. Thank you for reading. Please. I need to know if I'm being unreasonable. |
Question: Are they being good or bad friends? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 11:08 AM PDT I am in a college health care program with these 3 girls who are all 4 years older than me. and also there are these 2 guys who are 3 and 4 years older than me who both have girlfriends. I am good friends with the guys and one of the guys we flirt with eachother and people notice. whenever I go to sit with my guy friends instead of the girls they get annoyed and later text me asking what that was about. My mom thinks they are just trying to look out for me because they don't want me to get hurt, but I can't help feeling like they are just trying to tell me who I should and shouldn't hangout with. |

Question: Party for 17 year old girls? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 10:45 AM PDT I'm a 17 year old girl who wants to throw her 5 friends a birthday party at home. It'll be in the evening and we have the house to ourselves, my friends are all 17 and only girls. Alcohol is out of the picture. I'm pretty socially behind and I have no freaking idea what people my age like to do. Any ideas? What food/drink/snacks to serve? What activities or games can we play? Music? Decorations? Any themes? Movies? Dress codes? I want it to be a calm quiet party but still mature. PLZ halp I'm panicking. |

Question: How do you have a serious talk with a close friend? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 10:32 AM PDT My best friend and I have only known each other for a year, but we were the only girls participating in a club so we hit it off pretty quickly. The problem is that she is a senior and I am only a sophomore, which means that I will not see her once she leaves school (she is a foreign exchange student but she plans to study at a college in the US). I was talking on the phone with her a while ago and she told me that "Nothing will last forever. I am going to make new friends and so will you, it's a fact of life." I know this is true in some instances, but you can make long distance friendships work if you put an effort into it, right? I respect her opinions and they matter so much to me, but it seems as if she isnt going to even bother saving our friendship once she leaves. Is she right and I just need to grow up and face the facts? Or is there a way I can prove to her that friendships can last? Thank you so much, all of your answers are appreciated :). |

Question: Do you think our friend is a control freak (blunt answers)? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 09:40 AM PDT My high school best friend met some people she didn't like and was telling me to stay away from them. If they were mean and treated my friend like **** then I wouldn't befriend then. There's this guy that she says he's bad news and her ex friend dated him. He messaged my other best friend and she messaged him back. And they have been talking and she told me he's a nice guy. I mean our friend told us to be careful who we're talking to. She found out that my other best friend is talking to him and got upset and told me she knows how she feels about that guy. It's not like she likes him. My other best friend doesn't like him either but they became friends. I talked to him a couple of times and he seems nice. Honestly I don't know what my high school friend was talking about. She said she wished she had a chance to get to know him. Then why didn't she? My other best friend said to me, "A true friend wouldn't NEVER tell you who you should and should not be friends with. I never do that to you and THAT'S the kind of friend you need! I'M a true friend." My dad been warning me about true friends and I get so stubborn about that And I tend to go after people that don't care about me. I mean my other best friend said bluntly if she wasn't a b*cth then she would have that chance. Our friend wanted to get revenge on her ex and her ex is all she talks about sometimes. |

Question: How can I start listening to my parents? Please help? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 09:13 AM PDT I wasn't listening to my parents this past weekend because I was going out with one of my friends' graduates even though I don't have a boyfriend after homecoming sophomore year, and one of my friends' graduates was badgering my parents at homecoming sophomore year even though I don't have a boyfriend. Then last year, one of my friends' graduates went to jail, and my parents didn't like one of my friends' graduates even though I don't have a boyfriend. I badgered and bullied people to get what I wanted this past Friday night because one of my friends' graduates badgered and bullied his friends and one of my friends' graduates family to get what he wanted even though I don't have a boyfriend. I need a TV character I really like to be a better boyfriend than one of my friends' graduates. I was throwing a fit to get ready to go to a baseball game this past weekend because one of my friends' graduates threw a fit when he did something with one of my friends' graduates' family. I badgered my mom because one of my friends' graduates badgered my mom and his mom at homecoming sophomore year after one of my friends' graduates was dancing with somebody else. Then, I badgered my mom because one of my friends' graduates was badgering my mom and his mom at homecoming. I threw a fit this morning because one of my friends' graduates threw a fit when he got up for church with one of my friends' graduates' family. How can I start listening to my parents? Can you help? Thanks. |

Question: How to deal with a friend break up? Posted: 21 Aug 2016 09:02 AM PDT So, I have that one friend I love hanging out with but he has clearly shown he doesn't want to be friends. Not exactly said but shown. Like, he says he is busy or not home and doesn't hit me up or even try to hang out. I am really sad because I had big plans for our friendship. For example, I am soon going to get my driver's license so I wanted to travel somewhere with him or just hang out on weekends, doesn't matter. But now, I feel lost and like I have no one to share things that make me happy with. What can I do? Try to fix the relationship? Try to get over it? I'm just so sad and disappointed... |
