Question: Please help! My daughter is getting married at the age of 21!? Posted: 20 Sep 2015 06:56 PM PDT So here are the details. Last month my 21 year old daughter got sick and had to go to the hospital. Little did my husband and I know that a foreign boyfriend that we didn t know about would also be there. Now a month later, my daughter is saying she wants to marry him! She said he has to go back to his country and she d like to go with him and also get married to him. Here are our grievances: 1: We don t know him 2: she didn t ask our permission 3: they have only been dating for 9 months 4: she will go to a completely different country 5: she finishes her bachelors this year, and was supposed to go straight into her masters degree or to medical school 6: she hasn t been on her own yet 7: we don t think she is mature enough 8: we paid for her schooling so far, and now it feels like a waste of money 9: we aren t ready for this transition 10: we don t think he is the one for her 11: they share different religions 12: she will never be successful if she gets married this young 13: he is starting his phD so we are sure that this will add stress to the marriage 14: divorce rates are so high We are really disappointed in her. We feel she is throwing her life away. It will be a complete shame for us if she makes this mistake, especially since we put so much time and effort into raising her correctly. How do we tell her she can t do it because it will ruin her life? What are we supposed to do as parents who have given her everything? |

Question: Why do my parents expect me to get married? Posted: 20 Sep 2015 04:02 PM PDT Ever since I was little i've never wanted to get married or have kids. But my parents always say "someone will change your mind." um no. I'm an independent person I can take care of myself. If i say something like "I want a big house and a ranch with lots of animals." "oh you can do that when you're married." and they always say stuff like "when you get married or when you have kids.." That would be less time for a career. Why do my parents expect me to get married? I've never shown and interest in it i've never wanted to get married. I also don't want to cook and clean for someone |

Question: Affordable, semi-outdoor wedding venues in Houston, TX? Posted: 20 Sep 2015 03:00 PM PDT My family lives in Spring/Klein, but I'm down for pretty much any venue in North/Central Houston. I am looking for a venue that is (1) indoor, but has a ton of natural sunlight (can be outdoor ceremony if there is another indoor option in case it rains), (2) allows us to have the ceremony and reception without leaving the premises, and (3) preferably allows us to bring our own food, or has cheaper catering (everywhere I've been looking is $45pp or more). Our TOTAL budget is 5-6k. We want to have our wedding on a Monday, lunch ish and early afternoon time. I have already done extensive searching, I am interested in seeing things that don't come up as the same 100 results on Google or the Knot or Wedding Wire. There have been a few places I have heard about that are not shown on any search engine, and I am looking for more of those types of things. Thanks. |
