I'm 13 years old and my question really means how can I be more popular or Idk let me explain then you'll get an idea of what I mean. Okay like I already said I'm a 13 year old male... I'm in the 8th grade. I have friends and everything but I'm not really super popular or good looking I guess. I play in my soccer club and everyone there is good friends and all except me I guess. I mean I can communicate with them but they don't view me as a good friend. They have group chats and all that but they leave me out. I'm not a nerd or anything its just that I'm shy. Also I want to be viewed as cool and fun. Maybe even adorable or what ever. My shy personality I think doesn't let me reach out as much and make good friends with everybody. For example I have been at the club for 2 months or so and people hardly say hi to me when I get there. This kid Bryan just joined like 2 weeks ago. He's short fast small and people joke around with him and see him as a good friends. Any advice? |

My parents are also fairly wealthy, (NOT TRYING TO BRAG IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM, I DON'T OWN ANY "designer" CLOTHES, IM 13)now, this girl invited me to her party and my mother thought she was a "kind" girl and said yes I was coming. But here's the thing, she's in my history class and yelled aloud, "Everyone better get me a givenchy bag or Tory burch flats!" The girl is 13! I think it's wrong to ask my parents to give her a givenchy bag, and I can't afford it and her party's this Saturday. I'm thinking of getting her a knockoff bag because I'm certainly not getting her designer items. A friend of mine went to her party last year, and she said that she didn't get something she wanted, and threw a huge tantrum. I tried to convince my mom but I honestly don't know. Advice would be much appreciated :) |

Posted: 23 Sep 2015 04:56 PM PDT You know it's bad when it comes down to asking advice from random strangers on the internet, but anyway, I have a long-standing problem. I've been depressed for quite a few years and I always care way too much about what other people think. And I don't really have any close friends- I just seem to stay on the fringe of "acquaintance" with everyone i surround myself with. I have a "friend group" of sorts at school (college) but they all seem to spend a lot more time with each other than they include me in. I'm friendly with plenty of people and always try to reach out but no one really includes me in anything. No one really ever has. For the most part (with a few solid exceptions), no one really has a problem with me, they just seem to not care at all about me or the fact that I'm there. Like, if I just disappeared completely they wouldn't care one way or another. But we all got close the beginning of last school year, and I instantly cared about them all. They seemed to care about me too a little bit i guess, but that's since faded a lot. I wish I could be more content with being alone, but I feel like most people at school have people they generally hang out with quite a bit. people in my "friend group" like seeing each other every day. I think they think I'm really annoying, since I'm always trying to make plans but no one ever seems to want to respond when I'm the one making plans. I probably seem desperate. But I just get so tired of being alone. what do i do? |

We would hang out for hours almost every day after work. About a month ago we had a argument and she unfriended me on Facebook. I never really use fb but one day I noticed she wasn't on my friends list. I asked her why she unfriended me, she said cause she was mad at me but not anymore. She said she tried sending a friend request but it didn't come threw. I asked if I was blocked, she said no. Here's why I think she blocked me. One day she said I cant see her profile cause she has it on private, she says she has it that way so her dads side cant contact her and she has to send the request. But a couple days after this she tells me about how someone sent her a friend request after something happened. Maybe she was messing with her settings that day but I don't know if I believe this cause a couple days later she said she was messing with the settings and told me to look again. A couple days ago she sent a request. I don't know what to do. Also she's been texting me every few days threw out the time I was blocked, this confuses me even more... Did she block me and is just being nice cause she knows my situation or is this a glitch? Some might think I'm worrying to much about this but I was smoking spice for about 5 years and have just started getting out again. I don't have any other friends yet but I'd rather go back to square one instead of keeping a friend that can lie like it's nothing. Thanks :) |

I go to one class, switch to another, wander the halls alone at lunch then switch classes again. It's so boring and what sucks is that I can't seem to make any friends. I say hi to specific people when I see them but have not befriended anyone I can genuinely talk to and hang out with. It seems like everybody already has friends from their middle school. And the ones that don't have many friends like me are too different and I can't relate to them on that kind of level. It's been 4 weeks and I can't seem to find anyone that I can be friends with. It's so lonely and I really dislike going now. I used to have a ton of friends but not at this school now. Does it get better? Did you go through something like this? Please help!! |

Posted: 23 Sep 2015 04:06 PM PDT Today at school my friend dropped her stuff and I tried helping her pick it up but that resulted in my desk tipping over, my desk landed on her phone and the bottom (home button area) part is dented. The charger hole got dented as well so it's not an easy fix or not fixable at all. She talked to her parents and she is getting a new phone and they asked me if I could help pay some of the cost. I loosely agreed but I also asked how much I would be paying. I am planning on helping them/her pay. I hope this is not wrong to say but I feel like it was not all my fault and more of both of our faults. I have not yet to tell my parents but I am planning to soon since this is dealing with money. I will take responsibility for this but what would you do in this situation? And she has not told me how much everything is but her phone that broke was an iPhone 5 or 5s, so it would only be fair if I paid half of how much that phone costs correct? Like if she decides to get one of the iPhone 6 's I wouldn't have to pay half of that price..? Thank you |

Posted: 23 Sep 2015 04:01 PM PDT While hanging out with my bud, he got a call from his friend, claiming their mutual friend was trying to kill herself. She had eaten some mystery berries that she found, hoping they were poisonous. (I could hear her screaming in the background, and apparently she was asking why wasn't she dead yet.) After this call we didn't hear anything from them. My bud told his friend to call 911and/or take her to the hospital, and he himself called a non-emargency line, and the police said they would send a car out. Unfortunately we did not have an address for them, just a street name. We actually went out and drove around for two hours trying to find them. We looked on the street, and at all of the nearby hospitals. Two days later they responded. She was fine, and the friend hadn't called 911. He didn't because the woman didn't want him to. She was very upset that it had been suggested. Claiming via text "if i had wanted to go the hospital, I would have gone to the F*^@! hospital." I think this was a massive cry for attention. I know that is some way, all suicides are cry's for attention. But this woman has a severe allergy, so why didn't she just eat a bunch of her allergen, why the mystery berry? Why would she cause such a fuss and then get upset when people respond the way they are supposed to? Why wait two days to respond to someone that is genuinely concerned? This woman needs mental help, but she can't/won't accept it. Is there anything that can be done? For any of them? I don't know if this matters, but we are all grown adults. The woman is in her mid-late twenties. |

So my really good friend finds out that we've talked **** about him before and my okay friend says that he brings it up just to see if I'll go along with it. Now my good friend thinks that I talk craps about him non stop and that backstabbing asshole is a really good guy. BULLSHIT!!! This kid has a history of lying so people won't get mad at him because he's afraid of having his *** beat. I was really close to her 5th through 8th grade (I m a freshman) and then I got in a fight with a mutual friend of ours and kinda left the "group". We are still friends but we aren t as close as we used to be. Now she is really depressed and I can t help but feel that it is my fault. I was very depressed for a long time and I know how she feels. I want to help kind of indirectly because I know how much it sucks to have your depression made into a really big deal and blown completely out of proportion (at least initially), I also don t want to tell my school/parents/whatever. If that s what my friend wants then I ll do it but not initially because they always blow it way out of proportion and often make it worse. One more thing is that she has a boyfriend who is also depressed and they re really good for each other and it seems that it s like they re all they need and I don t know if I should still help with that. Honestly I just need any and all advice on how to help this girl because she is seriously amazing and I just want to help because I know how much it hurts and she of all people should NEVER have to deal with that. |

He works everyday and things between us are so routine. I like to go out and have fun. He likes to stay home.. Kinda boring... I have a group of 4 friends that I've been hanging out with ALL THE time since senior year of highschool, so about 2 years. Known most of them since 2nd grade. All they ever want to do is smoke weed and do other drugs. Yes, I do some of those things with them but they seem to enjoy it a little too much. They see nothing wrong with smoking in front of kids. Whenever I invite them to a concert or event I really want to go to, they always say they will go too but bail the day of or the day before, saying that its "too expensive" or some other excuse, or just not talk to me entirely, but will pay ridiculous amounts for weed weekly. most of the time we end up sitting inside getting ****** up every weekend. these are my only friends. I don't think they realize I have no one else to hang out with. All of them love to brag about sex and even love to explain all the little details about the sexual experiences they've had, they know im a virgin. They take advantage of girls and use them for sex. Most of the time I call them or text them they take HOURS to reply, but they are on their phones constantly when we're hanging out. I don't know what to do, these are my only friends and im terrible at making new friends due to anxiety, and its so hard to just leave them because we have had some good memories. and this is just one aspect of life making me want to end it all. please someone help me. |

I'm really in love with you and want to see where things go between us in a relationship. He's tall, tan, dark hair, dark brown eyes, Italian-American, smart, fun, down-to-earth, loving, caring, humble individual. We have a great time with one another when we are alone together from just talks to going to amusement parks and having fun with one another. I don't know how to respond to this because he later told me that I didn't have to say anything, but he just wanted me to know how he felt about me after having a 3 year friendship with me. How would you respond to this? I don't know how to respond if we do talk later on tonight on the phone. She says she didn't want her boyfriend the get in trouble for what she said , so she told the detectives that she was lying about having sex with him. About 4 weeks later she was depressed and took some pills to fall asleep and when she woke up her uncle was touching her inappropriately. she called the police but she says the police didn't believe her so they didn't do any thing. I know what she did with that boy was wrong, but she is like a sister to me, she comes from a broken home so I understand why she acts the way she does, but no one deserves to be raped or molested. I don't know what to do to get her uncle in jail. He is a pedophile and shouldn't be out on the streets. She says that her father didn't believe she was molested when she told him. What do I do? How do I get the police to arrest this man? Also this happened a while ago, on July 4th |
| Question: Should I shave my face? Posted: 23 Sep 2015 01:30 PM PDT I always shave my face but I want to try something different. This is about 6-7 days of no shaving. I shave the side of my face because that gets patchy and ugly. Do you think i should continue growing this out? Don't tell me "do what you want, who cares what others think?" This is one of those things where I think it looks okay, but maybe it really doesn't. I just want brutal honesty. I go to school and work at a bar so it's not like i have to be professional looking and clean shaven. Like it's hard for me to picture how this would look in a couple months. | Posted: 23 Sep 2015 12:44 PM PDT I'm 17, there was this one kid whom I hated at my high school, he was a bully and was very homophobic, My brother is in a gay marriage and this bully kept talking bad about them and hit me and such, I was fed up so I took some hours to find his skype, when I did I used skype resolver to find where he lives (With a free internet ip tracker as well, you should try it, its easy for people like me who don't know **** about this kind of stuff) I posted on Craigslist where he lives along with his phone number (Didn't get it from doxing, its in a student directory pamflet we got from the school) And his name and mothers name, so fast forward 2 days later and i'm feeling kinda bad about it and might take it down, the bullies at school and he talks about how he keeps getting harrassing calls and people keep coming to his house.. Well fast forward again but a week later, I easedropped on a convo he was having, he said his parents have started to beat/yell at him because they thought he did something bad and was the reason for all of the calls/visits from strangers. Well the next morning he wasn't at school and his friends looked very sad, fast forward one more time to 4 more days later and the school announces that (Lets just call the bully Jim) Jim has committed suicide and that we should all pray, I went home and deleted the craigslist post (I told nobody about it at all and nobody seemed to have pieced it together with what was happening) I'm horrified, what do I do?! |

They blocked me on Instagram and unfriended me on Snapchat and Facebook. The "leader" of the group makes them ignore me in class, too. They decided to blow me off for upperclassmen and stuff I guess. (We're freshmen.) They're always at parties or sporting events with seniors and stuff like that. They've started dressing slutty too. And my ex best friend is dating a junior and she's always all over him in the hallways. It makes me mad because she and I used to say how much we hated when girls do that. On the first day of school I tried to sit at the lunch table they were at and this senior girl named Suzanne was like, "You can't sit there. We have people who are actually our friends coming and they're gonna sit there." My ex friends were there and they just kept staring at me and laughing. I'm playing softball and my ex friends are on the team. At practice, they throw the ball really hard or really far for me to have to run after it. And they're always whispering stuff to one another. The one senior on the team who I don't even know that well gives me dirty looks. We got order forms for softball apparel at practice last night and the one ex friend of mine (Katie) was like, "Aw it's such a shame that they don't have a 3XL on here for a certain someone who needs it." It takes her 30 minutes to eat and I'm usually a really social person. So I asked her how long it takes to eat a sandwich I've asked that question before. Anyway she answered in a really cold matter. Should I just leave her alone for the next couple of days? I don't really have much friends mainly because they're judgmental towards foreign people. So what should I do? I feel like being alone tomorrow. |

Posted: 23 Sep 2015 12:26 PM PDT I'm a freshman in high school and over the summer, my supposed best friend group (6 girls) ditched me for the big popular group of people in our grade and upperclassmen. They would always hang out together without me and post a bunch of pictures and stuff. They ignored my texts, just opening them and never replying. They go to a bunch of parties where there's smoking weed and drinking. They dress like sluts too. Now that school is back in session, they are actually mean to me to my face now. My ex friend (who was my best best friend) passed me yesterday in the halls and was like, "Nice shorts. What are those, a size 20?" And the two senior girls she was walking with all started laughing and high fiving her. That same girl is also kind of controlling the other people that I actually used to be friends with. Her cousin (who used to be my friend) told me she had to unfollow me on Instagram, block me on Snapchat, and unfriend me on Facebook like everyone else had to because so-and-so said she had to or she was uninvited to her big Halloween party. She turns her head and ignores me when I say something to her in class now. My ex best friend thinks she's so cool now because she's dating a senior and she acts like a total slut with him in the hallway. She's always touching and kissing him. She was never like that before. It bugs me so much. And lastly, they deleted all of their pictures and videos of me that they had up online. It's like I am nonexistent. What do I do?? |

The only 2 friends I have now are actually really mean,immature people, who bully others but are nice to me, but I can't be friends with people like that. I'm struggling here as I don't know where to start, I only really have acquaintances i chat to a few times a week but am not really friends with. How can I become closer to these people? My mom reckons I suffer from the deaf of rejection, as I am scared of looking clingy & being rejected by people, so I can sometimes hang back & let others do all the talking etc |

So I have had sex but, my friend hasn't. I'm used to hooking up with someone at a party who I know. but, how can we pick up other girls our age and get my friend laid? I was thinking maybe the beach would be a good place to start. any suggestions on where to go and what "tactics" to use? |

After five months he talked to me and I took him back. But things between us are still Rocky... I love him dearly but we are completely different. He also has a temper.....he found out when we broke up I was talking to another guy (after the breakup)...and got mad at me! When he broke My heart!. He works everyday and things between us are so routine. I like to go out and have fun. He likes to stay home.. Kinda boring... Anyway, we still aren t officially together, but we still go out and see each other quite often. Recently this guy I met wants to take me on a date and this other guy I work with who is so cute gave me his number. | Question: Taking a break from friendship? Posted: 23 Sep 2015 11:57 AM PDT So me and my best friend of two years have been going through a rough time. BTW I am a guy and she is a girl. Theres nothing romantic between us, and there will never be, she is like a sister to me, and im like a brother to her. She told me that I am her closest friend and i know a lot of things about her that she doesnt trust other people with. The problem is that I have some mental problems which affects us, she knows about them and she is usually cool about it, and she has been there for me a lot. Unfortunately i lost my dog about three weeks ago, and since then I've been feeling really lonely. She has a lot of work and i feel really selfish when i ask her again. Im not gonna lie when i see her hanging out with other people in school because she never hangs out with me in school. She's always with someone else or theres someone with us when we are hanging out. I feel like i should take a break from being friends with her and maybe focus on making new friends for now. I dont mean we will end it forever but i feel like taking a break for 1-2 could be good for both of us. I know its not common to take break from friendship but our friendship isnt normal either. We've taken breaks before (probably about 5-6 times) It was always after a big fight, and it usually made our friendship better. We had a "fight" today as well and that what made me consider taking a break. TBH i dont know why im talking here but i would be grateful if you told me what you think about taking a break :) |

I let her vent, complain, whine, etc. I used to give her certain solutions but i ve realized that every time i did that i d always get the "no you re wrong" or "that s stupid" remarks. I d simply ignore it and just suck it in and let her win. Lately i ve felt like shes been just micro-managing everything i do and then complains about how i do things, what i say, even the way i work (we work together too, btw) to the point where i ve felt annoyed and i told her i dont wanna hear it! Then she got mad cause im a "self centered ****** who pretends to be this nice person", and "doesn t care about anyone but yourself". I vve tried to tell her that i do care but she says otherwise, people have told me that i m always bending over backwards but she doesn t see it the way I, my family, her family, and friends see it. Any advice? |

Now they never want to go to the actual cinema anymore. I don't think pirated copies are the same. I like the movie-going experience. I appreciate the big screen, great picture and great sound. The downloaded movies are always really poor quality, and you can barely even hear what the actors are saying half the time. I love going to the movies, and I go by myself sometimes, but but I am getting sick of going alone. What can I do? |

He had a high pitched voice and I had a really deep voice.. I sounded like an 18 year old.. So then he asked how old was I, I decided to lie and say I was 16. We talked everyday on Skype for 2 years playing games and now I haven't talked to him for 3 months because I don't want him to keep asking me questions. Should I tell him my actual age? She is originally from Costa Rica. Over the summer my good friend, me, and another close friend of ours went to Costa Rica with her where we stayed with her family for 2 weeks. During that time me and my friends brother became close. I developed feelings for him and we have been in contact for about a month. Yes, he and I both have feelings for one another but we also understand the complicated nature of the situation. We enjoy conversing so much that it is difficult to stop talking to each other. We agreed that we don't know what the future holds for us but we will continue to keep contact. With that said, I plan on telling my friend this weekend that me and her brother have been in touch. Sometimes when I schedule things with friends they will ask me to suggest a place but then act like my typical suggestions are boring. Maybe it's boring to go to the same places again and again, but if that's the case, why aren't others more proactive about suggesting things? Sometimes it feels like other people want YOU to do all of the work of coming up with exciting suggestions so I wondering if there's a good way to handle this. |

I was super involved in my campus community, had lots of friends on campus and lived with my two best girlfriends. This last summer was fantastic, but they moved to graduate school in August. I am now living with my boyfriend in the same city where my University is because he has a job there and I wanted to stay plugged into the political community and non profit community which the area is known for (I want to work for a Women's Issue non profit). Now, I work for a temp agency as an administrative assistant, I go home every night and watch Netflix and just lay on the couch. I walk by places everyday that remind me that I don't have friends and i'm just stuck. I keep feeling these crazy things, and I have the urge to dump my boyfriend break my lease and move to Europe, or some other wild move. I don't know what to do or how to fix my situation... |

Partially because I moved around so much, partially because I've lost touch with friends when they got a gf but mostly because my standards for friends has gone way up. I was single for 3-4 years and it was fun. My friends were single, we partied a lot but after college those times kind of ended. Then I got a girlfriend and I don't like to party anymore. Another problem is that I find most people to be pretty boring. And why should I hang out with someone else to be bored? I can do that on my own. During the three-four years I was single I felt like I had to adapt a lot to other people. But no one adapted to me. Quite frankly I had to dumb myself down to fit in. At that time I was afraid to be classified as a nerd. But now I'm not. That's who I am. I read a lot, I love astronomy and I've spent a year building my own telescope, I like martial arts and not football, basketball or any other boring sport. I think that's why I like hanging out with my gf so much. She thinks I'm smart and I don't have to pretend with her. Do you feel like that sometimes? |

I want to hang out with my three close friends but they want to be in this group with everyone else. There are some people whom i'm friendly with but not really enough to chill with them on weekends and there are others whom I just really don't like (obnoxious, attention seeking, selfish) . When we're all together, I feel alone and bored and annoyed because my friends would rather be there. My friends overlook me and I feel like no one likes me. This social circle wants to party every single weekend, get high and drunk etc...I really hate that and I'd rather stay at home but if i do, I feel left out when everyone talks about it on Monday. I was just wondering if anyone felt/feels the same way and if anyone has any tips to deal with this? I'm quite a positive person, I'm not depressed and I'm happy that I do have friends because when I'm not in the social circle, I have the greatest times. When school first started, she used to always wave at me in the hallways but not she just rolls her eyes every time she see's me. I have another friend who is close with her, they are best friends and she always waves at me especially when she's with my friend. I don't really get it tbh... I'm pretty close to her but all of a sudden she just tries to get away from me. And she looks at me like I'm nothing... I feel that I am over her but I will admit that sometimes I do think about her and our good times together. And I do wish she had done better towards the relationship and that it would have worked out. I think what may have triggered this is that my friend and his gf invited me to a Halloween party at their house this year. Last year I went to the same party and my ex-gf was also there. The day after that party (Halloween) was when we became official bf/gf. |

I mean, I'm friends with like the seniors and stuff because of my sister and we talk casually sometimes, but it's not really like good friends or anything like how it is for my sister. I do have like one friend, but it's not that kind of closeness that you have with a best friend. I just don't know how to talk to her and honestly don't feel that comfortable talking to her about most things. I'm an INTJ so it's already really hard for me to sympathise with anyone, unless they can really get close to me, and I mean really close. Sometimes I just want a friend, someone to talk to or chat with. Someone who I can't feel insecure with. I just don't know. I know most of you will tell me to open up and maybe talk to more people if I'm not happy with my current friendship, but I won't do it. All of the so-called popular people only want to talk about parties/drugs or **** like that. I honestly would prefer talking about quantum physics or how infinity-1=infinity. Then I get called nerd a lot. It was really bad in 6th grade, but everyone has backed off now. Power of the death stare! :D Still, I can't seem to connect with most anyone, and the worst part is that my voice is slightly softer than most people, so in comparison, I'm just quiet. People literally ask me if I ever get bored of being quiet. They don't even know the whole story. I'm literally the craziest person ever, but no one tries to get to know me. I enjoy skateboarding (I'm just beginning), writing, reading, art and the internet. I'm not much of a social media person other than YouTube really (I don't know if that comes under social media), I enjoy gaming and I kind of want to learn ballet but my parents won't allow it. |

Most of the family is in the u k. Told me I should move back there. But I'm kinda scared of change. And there will be no family to help my grandmother out. I care even though she treats me like crap. I've already given my 2 weeks resignation letter to my boss. Now my friend is saying I could roommate with her cause her parents are going to move in with her sister and we could split rent and I look for another job. My only concern is what if her parents decide to return? I like want to stay cause I'm so used to America, I feel like I'm going to have to start all over again at 30. I'm so confused, don't know what would be best. |

Be it after the toilet, or whenever really. The most disgusting (for me) moment was when she actually licked hamburger sauce off her dirty fingers while we were at the cafe wtih a sound. The thing is she's actually really very popular. She's beautiful and all. She seems to be fooling around though. But honestly speaking I wish men she sleeps with new what kind of bacteria she has on her hands before touching them!! She also never closes her mouth when she sneezes or coughs, and henever she catches a cold she never takes medicine so it drags on for weeks. It's the fifth time she got sick in the last 5 months. Men, if you actually knew that how would you react? |
