Question: I feel so depressed again? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 01:31 PM PDT I'm 17. Me and my mom live together . We moved last year to another state and now we have to move because of family issues here. We don't have a place to go .my mom doesn't drive and she drinks often . its gotten better but I hate when she does . She gets so angry and she never finishes things. I was in a mental hospital a few months ago and never got therapy because my mom never initiated anything. I love life though. Its like everything is so beautiful and amazing but my life is not good. I haven't seen my dad since I was 7 . my only sister doesn't talk to my mom . she's never hit us but she can be so mean and nasty when drinking. I dropped out .my aunt hates me because of it and she thinks im a low life but I got a job and I loved it so much and I was happy but I had to quit because im moving and I don't know what to do anymore. Everything is not good again and I'm scared. I try so hard to be happy but something always ***** up. I want to die again .. |
Question: Im fighting with my sister and Im not sure what to do.? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 01:10 PM PDT My sister is 28 Im 17. Our parents are out on a cruise and she s litertally treating me as if I m 14. First it s grow up but then it s stop acting grown. Our parenst won t be back for a week and it s only the second day and we already started arguing. I had school so I kind of had a little mess when I left because I have to run out and catch the bus. But I always clean up once I get home and she was mad because I left the mess. The first night I wanted to sleep in the living room floor and but noooo apparently sleeping on the floor is completely forbidden of all rules? I slept on the floor anyway but she refused to take me to the bus stop so I went and she gets mad because I didn t tell I left to the bus. She s literally trying to close me in and I m sick of her already. I want ger to move back out cause I was expecting to be the only child living in the house on their senior year. |

Question: Any advice for dealing with a mean toddler? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 12:44 PM PDT My nephew has been staying with my family on and off again for a year now, but has recently been staying with his other grandparents. Now when he stays with my family he is nothing but mean! He has only ever been respectful to us, but now he says he hates us, and he only loves the other family, and he never wants to see/ stay with us again. He s never said anything like that before, he s such a sweet kid, but now he s a small ball of pure nasty. Any advice on how to gets things straight? Any helpful advice is appreciated. |

Question: Why does my mom do this? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 12:33 PM PDT I'm a sophomore in high school (10th grade) and I share the title of the first born with my twin sister. My mom has this email alert that alerts her if I get less than an 80. My worst subjects are math and science. I have an 83 in math and an 81 in science. Every time I get less than an 80 she texts me a screenshot of the email with a caption like "a 66 on a science test????" She knows I try. I'm in English 11 honors, global history II 10 honors and English society. I have averages in the 90s or a few 100s in my other classes. I make honor roll almost every quarter. The tests and quizzes I do bad on I study for. I study for everything. I go to extra help sessions for math and science and have a peer tutor for math. It just really stresses me out. I really do try and she doesn't get it. She also emails my teachers behind my back. She emailed my math teacher because according to her calculations my math average should be a 67 and not an 83 and then she later admitted she thinks she was wrong after emailing my teacher without me knowing! She also emailed one of my science teachers to see if it was normal that I have two science teachers and lab before science which I already told her it was fine because I asked my friends who were juniors and some of them had the same situation as me last year and said it was normal. How can I make her stop? I check my grades and can easily ask a teacher or my older friends her questions without her contacting them without me knowing. |
Question: Can someone help me figure out a Christmas gift for my mom that isn't really expensive? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 12:10 PM PDT We don't have a good relationship ever since she chose her abusive husband over me but I still want to get her a gift. I was going to get her a 70 dollar birthstone necklace but with how things are between us I don't want to get her something so expensive. I can't give her money or a gift card because her husband will take it. She loves flowers but those would die soon after so I need to figure something else out. If you could give me some suggestions id really appreciate it. Thanks! |
Posted: 29 Sep 2015 12:00 PM PDT What I mean is.. let's say I want a record of all deaths in 5 different counties in the last 30 days. Without searching through various newspapers and compiling data.. is there a centralized location that this information is available and kept constantly updated? |
Posted: 29 Sep 2015 11:57 AM PDT My dad started to dislike me, we started to fight alot and he always told me that I'm a loser, how mean I am, what a horrible person I am, how my brothers is so mutch better to me. It's better now, but he used to get drunk often and use violence like pushing me so I would fall or bump me in to a wall while passing me. But I feel so false saying that I love him every day (every day when I go to school or going to bed I say good night/have a good day, love you to my mom and dad). I don't say it very often to my dad anymore. And one of the things he said, it makes me cry.. My mom told him "you don't treat your children like that" and he said "I don't but I treat THAT THING like that!". It really hurt hearing that, I sat in my room with closed door and cried. So today he gave our dog human food, with cream, Tabasco and other things that was in it. I told him that that is't good for our dog. So I picked it up from the floor. He start saying to mom "well attest you know it's better than dog food". My mom told him that a little bit of meat is't bad for him(the dog) but that milk products is't good. My dad keept saying against me and ended up with saying "im going up, she's just as mean as always" (he talked about me with my mom). After that my mom told me that I can go, so I went in to my room. My mom went upstairs and my dad started picking on her. Now she's sleeping in the bed downstairs (she does that when they fight). I don't know what to do, but I'm really sad. |
Question: I failed twice and I'm moving soon do I get 3 more turns or do I only get one? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 11:50 AM PDT So I'm a 16 year old living in Virginia with my mother. But I'm soon moving in with my dad like Thursday, and I have failed the permit test to times when I move in with my dad I'll be moving to North Carolina. When I move and I decide to go take it again will I only have one more time or will I have 3 more considering I'm moving to a different state? |
Question: Why do some parents guilt trip? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 11:02 AM PDT It's like if you make a meal for yourselves once, they say you never make it for anyone else. If you forget to put the dishes away once, then they say they always put the dishes away. When my parents guilt tripped me, I almost always ignored it. But why do they do it? |
Question: I enjoy my sister bullying me and having no confidence, but I don't want to.? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 11:00 AM PDT I figured out awhile ago that my sister bullies me and I have no confidence because of it. I want her not to and I want to be confident, but I also feel like I can't do it. Is it normal to feel this way? How can I change it and make her stop and how do I get more confidence? I really appreciate any help. |
Posted: 29 Sep 2015 10:48 AM PDT Why does my sister and brother inlaw tell lies about me when something is going on ? Is it so they aren t the bad guys ??? |
Posted: 29 Sep 2015 10:11 AM PDT Whenever she drinks she becomes emotionally abusive and disgusting. Most of the time she denies shes been drinking but i can tell, she starts slurring and she gets a lazy eye. When she drinks she doesnt care about the consequences of anything. She just yells at me calling me names and picks me apart, we just moved to Florida from California and before i understood why she drank. I absolutely hated it but i knew why, we were homeless for four years going couch to couch and we just couldnt find a home, finally after staying with my drugged up cousin, she kicked us out, we bought greyhound tickets a month before and came out to florida to stay with my aunt. A monthish later we got a place, and a cat, she promised shed stop drinking and she isnt, my aunt said she would take her to AA but the second my mom sobers up my aunt doesnt care, too much work i guess since we dont have a car, when she drinks she gets slobbering drunk and is the meanest person you could ever meet, i hate it so much and i get depressed for days, no matter how much i beg, scream and cry she wont stop and im beginning to think she never will. I havent been in school in years and i developed an awful social anxiety, i cant even go into a grocery store, i get so mad when shes drinking i feel like i cant breathe, shes so evil when shes drunk i dont want to live with her anymore but i have no where to go |
Question: How can I move out? (Kinda long but pls read)? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 09:23 AM PDT okay so growing up I was raised a Muslim.... I don t believe in the religion one bit I want to move out for college but my parents are so traditional they won t budge they sAy girls can t move out until they re married I don t believe that I was born and raised here I shouldn t have too follow middle eastern rules. All my life I was emotionally and physically abused by my father who has no respect for women, the universities I am applying for are all out of state I wanna go to one of them to gain my freedom. I just wanna live my life peacefully and freely I m not trying to move out for a bf or anything as to the fact I m basically locked up in my house so I can move out when I turn 18 regardless of what my parents say right ??? like they forced homeschooled me and being in the house all day and watching Netflix and sleeping al day made me realize i need to make a plan to leave my dad is so controlling and abusive... I have 2 suicide attempts and all he says is I wish you died than he'll go back and say he didn't say so ? He needs serious help. And no one agrees. Al though my older siblings all moved away and said I should do the same. But I don't wanna leave my 2 younger sisters behind bc they'll disown me |
Question: I just caught my son having sex? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 09:16 AM PDT My son is 15 and he invited is friend over to hang out and they went into his bedroom and I was fine with it until I walked down to his room and opened the door because I heard moaning sounds coming from there and he and his friend were completly naked he he was mounted on top of his friend. I'm wondering should I allow him to continue or force stop it |
Question: I made my dad cry and I feel horrible? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 09:11 AM PDT I m 16 and a junior in high school but I don t have my liscense yet, just my permit. my dad has to drop me off every morning. today, I thought I was going to be late to school so I told my dad to go start the car but he wouldn t, saying it was still early so I started yelling at him as he would protest and I told him that I "didn t want to hear it" I was just basically disrespecting him but it was because I didn t want to be late! he got really mad and throughout the whole car ride, he was yelling at me and threatening to leave California and go back to the Philippines, and that I am the only reason he s still here. he yelled that if I really hate him then I should tell him so he can leave. the whole time, I had a blank face and no reaction. then in first period I could not focus at all and I was literally wiping my tears the whole time. when class was over, I told my friend I wasn t going to second period, then called my dad to apologize and pick me up. he said he will then when I hung up I started crying. my friend took me to the office and when my dad picked me up, we went into his car and he took my hand, telling me he s sorry too and it s because I m his only daughter which is why he cares enough to stay here. he was crying as he was saying this and I never felt more awful in my life because my dad has always been so strong that it s just heartbreaking to see him like this. I just want to know how to move on from this because seeing my dad cry is all too new for me. |
Question: How to grieve? Or get over a parent dying? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 08:41 AM PDT My mother passed away about 2 yrs ago when I was 22. I didn't have the best relationship with her & she asked to come stay with me before she passed but I was unable to let her (I live with my dad). She even asked to stay with my BF at the time, but he was unable to take her in. I feel a lot of guilt about that now, b/c I found out she wasn't taking her heart medicine probably b/c she was living in a rural area with no transportation which could have contributed to her death. My Dad says she's dead & wants us all to be over it. But he'll come home drunk & talk about her & how he misses her sometimes. I'm very upset & miss her a lot, but there's nothing I can do about my feelings or bringing her back so I just bury those feelings. But I still get sad when I see mother/daughters. I'm faced with the reality that my Dad is ill & may die soon as well & I'm just 24. My kids won't know their grandparents & I'll have no one to turn to for advice as I age. It's really freaking me out & makes me very sad but I just bury it & try to stay positive. I guess I just don't really know how to take this since everyone is acting like nothing happened most of the time & when they get emotional they just say she's in a better place. How do you grieve or feel better about a loved one's passing? I notice I'm changing a lot based on what happened. Like I want to make a lot of $ now so my dad & grandparents can have a place to stay when they are ill. But I haven't gone to college yet so I have a lot of pressure on me to make money, which puts more pressure on me b/c the more I work the less time I have to spend with them. |
Question: Is it bad I won't let my grandmother help me buy a car? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 08:40 AM PDT The only reason why she wants to help me buy a car is because she will look stupid helping my cousin buy a car, who is 18, no job and never worked. practically illiterate, morbidly obese, no common sense, no bank account, and doesn't even have a learners permit. She's a doorknob, and spoiled for no reason. She gets any and everything she asks for, and as you can see, she doesn't deserve anything, she's an adult baby. Anyways she asked my grandmother for a car, while I was with her, and then her mother told her that I'm currently working 2 jobs, to save up for a car. So she had no choice to offer to help me buy a car since she's going out of her way to help the brain dead grandchild with no learners permit, and leave the one working 2 jobs with no help? No that would make them all look dumb. I don't want her help, and I told my mom that. I'm perfectly fine working my 2 jobs to get my car, I don't want to look brain dead like my cousin, like I can't do things for myself. |
Posted: 29 Sep 2015 08:37 AM PDT My mom won't let me go on a VERY VERY IMPORTANT TRIP because she doesn't want to be stressed out. Not only am I VERY STRessed out now, I'm literally torn apart, going on this trip means so much to me. I feel like my mom is being unreasonable, and not thinking about my feelings. |
Question: Feel guilty for going home sick? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 08:30 AM PDT When I woke up today I had a slight stomache ache but still went to school. I go to school on a passenger train that goes through the city cause my school is 40 min away from school. Anyways during zero period in choir when I started my stomache started hurting really bad so I left and called my dad to pick me up. By the time he got here I was starting to feel better but went home anyways and I feel kinda guilty about it. But my dad did drive 40 min to get here. Did I do the right thing by going home? |

Question: Can I be emmancipated? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 08:20 AM PDT I'm 13 and everyone treats me like I'm some little kid. Hello, I'm 13! I'm almost 14! I'm a teenager. Isshould be able to do what I want if I have good grades. Ok, so my parents say,"Oh you can't watch that! You're too young!" So does my older siblings. My older sister is 16 and she pretty much gets to do whatever she wants! It's so annoying!!She has her own car that our dad bought for her! He won't even buy me make up! She and my mom both get to go make-up shopping together while I'm supposed go grocery shopping! So I can't wear make-up, but she's old enough to drive?! And she has her own paying job! So does my two older brothers! Their17 and 19! My pparents and them all wanna watch rated r movies and TV14 and even some pg13, which I am old enough for, and they all say, we can't watch it right now, we have to wait until she goes to sleep! She's too young! so my siblings can go out all night, have parties, cursr, have a job, have boyfriends and girlfriends, drive! And I just have to stay home all day, forced to watch only cartoons by my parents! Cuz I'm too young for anything else! I just wanna know if I can be emmancipated cuz I plan to move out and go to Georgia! Can I? Thanks! |
Question: My mom won't let me....? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 08:12 AM PDT Every day, all day, I hear her do nothing but yell and complain and argue. She acts like she's a teenager by giving me the silent treatment and yelling at us that technology has consumed our lives. Night time is the only time I have to myself. I like to go outside where it's quiet, a little chilly, and peaceful. It's dark outside so I don't have to worry about people seeing me. My mom caught me going outside once (I had gone out earlier than usual) and she turned on all of the outside lights and waited for me to come back in. She yelled at me that 'you can't be outside at 10:30'. I understand that she doesn't want me to get hurt, but we live in a safe neighborhood. I've been doing this for years now. Yep - I'm interested in astronomy (though I go outside when it's cloudy, too). I usually sit by the car, which is...you know...in the driveway. |
Posted: 29 Sep 2015 08:09 AM PDT When I was a kid my mother did not join in with her father or brothers at family time. We would see my maternal grandmother and that was all. As a teen I got close to my grandfather as well but still missed the family events. Now at age 30 my mother has died and I want to reach out and get to know her family more. How can I do this in a way that would be successful? The background was just that the brothers were close to their father but my mother stopped speaking to him when he divorced my grandmother (her mother). So my mother blamed her siblings for not joining her in boycotting her father. I felt my mother was wrong to do this. |
Question: Should I get rid of my dead mother's things? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 08:03 AM PDT My Mom passed away about 2 years ago. We didn't have the strongest relationship because my parents went through a heated divorce a few years earlier. I'm still in my mid twenties & I have a lot of her things. During the funeral my older siblings burnt most of her things to get rid of them & threw the rest away. She mostly has a lot of dishes & other things that I took during the time. Seemed wrong to just burn or throw it away since she struggled so hard to keep it during moves & such. I kind of want to get rid of it because it's difficult for a single woman to haul around & there's a lot of stuff. She also had some plants I'm taking care of (not so well at that). My dad keeps telling me to just throw the stuff out & buy new things to replace it. In all honestly, I haven't touched any of it & it remains boxed b/c it can be painful to go through. I feel like I might be holding onto it because she'll never be here again to give me anything & that's the last of what I have of her. What would you recommend? |
Question: Should I say something or just keep my mouth shut? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 08:02 AM PDT My dad recently told me my aunts where yelling at him because I was a selfish rude person . my cousin had left a suit case where I used to live and wanted me to bring it to her but the suit case was huge! Way bigger then mine. I rented a car and was going to AL with my brother and his wife. We tried to put hers in but if we had brought it it ment someone wasn't going to fit. ( it was sooo HUGE) so we left it and when my brother went back he was going to give it to a aunt so she could send it. But my cousins parents ( her dad is my dads brother and her mom is my moms sister) told my aunts that I was selfish and I rude for leaving her things. I been trying to meet with my cousin but she says we will meet but she never comes. I have some papers of her she left that important ( like her birth certificate) after she bailed on me 4 time , then my dad told me about my aunts. And I don't know if I should just leave it or say something to her?? The fact that I know they are just talking ahit about us really just makes me so mad. And now my dad doesn't really speak with his brother and neither does my mom to her sister. (I mean I always kind of knew my dads side didn't like us. Mostly because my mom says they didn't want him to marry her) |

Question: How to live with stupid/annoying as Fvck parents? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 07:35 AM PDT Ok, first off, I'm not the type of person to really care about these things, but they're driving me crazy. Alright. I'm 16, first year in college in a private school in Poland. My mother works here. 1.She's pissing me off. She keeps on saying about how I'm stupid, don't want to learn and like I get bad marks all the time. I have above average marks and she keeps on saying they're **** and so on. I told here that learning is much harder in college as opposed to high school but she just can't get that. The ironic thisg is she failed a class and had to stay a year behind. 2.My dad's a fvcking idiot. He's crazy. He also keeps on talking about how I'm an idiot, about how he'll have to work for me whilst I do nothing etc. 3.Why do they force me to not sit at the computer? I usually get home and turn it on till I sleep. It helps with learning, I can read the news(I'm slightly into politics) and it helps pass the time, 4.Why the **** do they not let me play the guitar? I'm getting a new one in about 3 weeks and they said I should learn whilst my marks are perfectly fine. Care to help/explain? Thanks very much Bartholomew |

Question: Not too fond of my father? Normal? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 07:24 AM PDT I don't care much for my father. I grew up with both parental figures but ever since I was a child I have never been too fond of him. I used to hate when he hugged me, but he never did anything inappropriate towards me. I hardly saw him growing up and my mom was always home so I'm a lot closer to her. Sometimes I feel mean for not caring for him but I can't help it. Is this normal? |

Question: My mom is always complaining? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 06:59 AM PDT My mom has been known to complain in the past. Lately it s more prominent than usual. She is constantly complaining about how she and my dad are having money problems. I understand a big part of it is stress however she was a single parent to my older sister and I for 10 years. Plus she had a lot of medical bills from me when I was sick. I never ask her for money and I help pay my part of the cell phone bill every month. My sister got to go to six flags and Canobe Lake park all in one weekend and didn t pay a dime for anything. It s stuff like that where if they know they are strapped for money maybe my younger sisters shouldn t be doing these things all the time. I have a job of my own and I m doing the best I can to do my part. How do I get her to stop complaining about it? I m sick and tired of hearing about it |
Question: Is $100 too much to enclose in a sympathy card for a relative who you didn't grow up with? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 06:58 AM PDT My mother's side of the family lives 200 miles away from me, so the only family I have close by are my sister and two children. Therefore, we are not very close to our family (literally AND emotionally). Our uncle 80-year-old uncle passed away, so when my sister and I drove up for the funeral, she gave our cousin (my uncle's daughter) a card with a check for $100. Now, keep in mind of the following: 1. Our cousin has nine brothers and sisters. 2. Our cousin owes my sister $500, which she loaned her about three years before her father (our uncle died). It aggravates me that my sister would give a generous sum of money to a relative [that she's not emotionally attached to] who has nine siblings (and umpteen adult grandchildren) who could help out with funeral expenses, while my sister and I are far from immediate family and are considered hospitable enough to just send flowers and/or a "moneyless" card. I don't like how too nice and passive my sister is. Was a good idea to give our cousin $100? |

Question: My stepmom is a lesbian, and my dad doesn't know? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 06:31 AM PDT So my dad married this beautiful girl. One night my dad went to go and get a drink with friends and my mom had her friends come over. They went into her room. I walked in and my step mom was naked making out with them. Question: Why are old people so annoying? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 06:09 AM PDT I am generally a very tolerant and compassionate person and i get that alot from many people ive met , so i though ide just say that before getting into my main issue so that i do not get called mean or rude. even though i am all of those things , my grandparents just drive me crazy and i hate them so much ! they are so ******* stupid and hard headed , they never listen to anyone and they always think they "know it all" they dont realize that times have changed since 1956, they keep holding on to their ridiculous ****** up ideology and they never change their opinions about anything even when they have acquired new information about that thing. WTF can i do to atleast calm myself down or if possible deal with the situation, should i just stop talking to them? should i just ignore them? and dont tell me that im heartless or that i am the source of the problem because i have many other old people in my family and friends that are all different from my grandparents that im talking about, the other old people i meet are either normal or str8 up "cool" and "up to date" with the world , and all of those old people are like 10 years older than my grandparents cz my grandparents arent that old compared to others. plus , everyone complains from my grandparents because of how stupid they are, they have no friends and they just sit at home and all they do is nag and complain about the littlest issues!!!! like the rug not being close to their feet when they get up in the morning!! my grandparents are in their mid to low 70s |
Question: Home is being targeted, car was totaled, low on cash. What should I do? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 06:00 AM PDT Someone has been targeting my parents house for the past 3 weeks. They haven't taken anything and they only try to break in when I'm home at night or during the afternoon. When I call the police they just leave and come back. 2 of the doors are getting messed up from being pryed open with a crowbar so much. Last night someone came in my room and I locked myself in the bathroom for hours and they left. I don't have anywhere else to stay and my family is living in another state right now. The police won't take me seriously, and my car was totaled in an accident last week because I was staying in my car for the night and fell asleep driving. I am low on cash and can only afford a hotel for a few days. I have tried telling my dad this isn't safe for me to be staying there but he doesn't believe me. So right now I have no car and nowhere to stay except a hotel for a few nights. I don't know anyone who will help me out and the police are starting to threaten me for "false alarms". Should I just randomly ask some of my neighbors for help?? |

Question: How do I politely ask my mum something? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 01:49 AM PDT I'm 13 and very sick so I can't really leave the house and my birthdays soon. My mum is really excited and wants to make a macaron stack. I don't really want one as I've lost my sweet tooth since being sick. I don't want to hurt her feelings and make her feel like she isn't part of my birthday plan. Honestly, all I want is a nice home cooked curry for dinner. How do I not hurt her feelings? |
Question: What to do - my father is abusive alcoholic? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 01:12 AM PDT So, my father is a functional alcoholic. He does not get drunk every day, and he is most of the time OK. But, every couple of months he gets so drunk that he then becomes very aggressive. The last time he beat my mother. It happened 5 years ago. Last night he pushed my mother and I stood up and told him to stop. He stopped but threatened me to punch me and yelled at me to sit down. In my country police is really bad and women are not really protected. Please read on. I am afraid that the police will only come to calm us down and then leave. It is fairly complicated. I have one relative - my first cousin once removed, and he is the only one showing affection towards me, but I am not sure should I tell him... I don't want him to tell my father since they are cousins. But I think that he might help me somehow.... ? I feel terrible. |
Posted: 29 Sep 2015 01:00 AM PDT This girl is 25 and when she was with my son years ago they did nothing but fight. She was young and so was my son and she wanted to get married but she has anxiety really bad and I feel terrible about how she treats my grand daughter who is almost 4. She was going to church with me and she works at a retail party store where she has been for years. She has all sorts of credit card bills that she carried with her when she moved in with me. She also has a new truck that she leases and she can't afford an apartment and has no one to watch my grand daughter if she moved. Her grand parents who raised her are old and they wanted her to leave cause she was seeing this guy. When she moved in with me I told her that whatever she did she could not bring this guy to my house. What ever I say to her she texts this guy who does not help her financially but uses her to put stuff on her credit cards and I guess he pays her back but she will do anything for him she tells him. She has anxiety very bad and she has no patience with her daughter and is always yelling at her and she acts out as a result. I am moving to a house so my grand daughter will have her own room and her mom will have to pay more money in order to live there. She thinks that in a year she will be able to move out and get her own place but I wash her clothes and cook and she is a slob who cannot make it on her own since she was not brought up correctly and now she has herpes and she does not know that I know. |
Question: I am frequently being dragged into my parents' marital problems? Help? Posted: 29 Sep 2015 12:16 AM PDT I will provide some backstory: My parents have been separated for a while now, because their relationship has never worked out. My dad has an affair with another woman (even if my parents are still married), and before he wanted me to meet his girlfriend. I DID NOT (and I never) want to meet her. I later approached him in tears saying that I don't want to meet her, and he seemed to understand. He also promised me that he will not drag me into his marital problems anymore. But recently he's been breaking that promise. For example, he keeps on talking bad about my mom. This has been happening for a LONG time, but again, I asked him to not do it, but he keeps on doing it. Even when I'm crying and telling him to stop he keeps on trash talking her. The only time he stops is when I show force (like throwing a wadded paper towel at him). He often does this in public places, such as restaurants, so it's really hard to be firm with him. It's not helping that his senile mother is spreading bad rumors about my mom and I to him, which is further dragging me into this mess. His girlfriend is also trying to subtly announce her presence to my mom and I, such as leaving a love note on my dad's desk. I am just so sick and tired of this crap!!! If my mom chews him out, it's going to end up in a HUGE fight. I just want him to leave me alone! What can I do? How can I stand up to him without being scared? (PS to those who are wondering why they aren't divorced, it's for my sake. I am 16). |
Question: Should I and how to kick my narcissistic Dad s ***? Posted: 28 Sep 2015 11:59 PM PDT My Dad was a bad one. He made all of our lives, Mom, me and Bro s life living hell. He wouldn t talk, beaten up my Mom if we say anything against his voice. I got beaten up for having a boy friend. Whoa can t believe I had the audacity to survive and I m now trying to kick his ***. He s still the same person, a lil milder and powerless now, coz I m grown up and moved out, and that Mom takes my side. Drop in all the suggestions, anything at all: Make him read a book, make him go somewhere. Feel free to give me the crazy ideas. :D |
Question: Is it rude not to pay for certain people if your wedding is out of the country? Posted: 28 Sep 2015 11:55 PM PDT My fiance and I are planning on getting married at the Vatican in about a year and a half. We will be paying for the cruise on the way up there for my parents, his parents and grandmother, and my younger siblings (both under the age of 18). My fiance has two adult sisters (one younger, one older than him). Both of which have not been very involved with the family despite living in the same household and have not been the kindest towards us for reasons I am not aware of. My fiance and I dated for 7 years and I have only met the eldest sibling a handful of times. Countless times they have lied to our faces about major issues in their lives that affect the family. Even though they act the way they do, we would still like to include them on our special day because they are family, but agree that paying for them is unnecessary since they are grown adults with fairly good paying jobs. Is that rude to not pay for them even if they are grown adults with a good income? I know they will get very angry with us when we tell them they have to pay for themselves. Any suggestions on the kindest way to approach them with this? |

Question: Vegetarian Advice?!?!? Posted: 28 Sep 2015 11:14 PM PDT I am 14 years old. I am a recent vegetarian, even though i just started i am really strict about my diet, even giving up bacon..*sigh*. I decided to become vegetarian because i love animals. Also any cheap alternatives to meat. Because right now, i am living off rice alone, wheat crackers and bread. So yea, the poverty life Anyways, the problem is that my family won't accept me as being a vegetarian. My mum, for example, when giving me pasta likes to mince and sneak tiny bits of meat in there. Even though, I keep asking her to please stop and she makes me sound like an ungrateful child, for not taking the meat. My family share this view that: "God gave us control over animals, and he put them on this earth for us to eat them". They keep tormenting me with the meat, even going so far as pushing it into my mouth. What can i do? Advice please? So far my mum has been punishing me by just giving me rice alone for dinner and the only thing my school serves for lunch that is vegetarian-friendly is cabbage and thats it. Also most of my friends are meat-lovers and the sight of people eating animals, kinda makes me sick. Any advice? Tysm if you do |

Posted: 28 Sep 2015 10:02 PM PDT phone while in LA visiting family w/ my child( 17m at the time). Before that I was living w/ him in his mom's house in TX. There's backstory, but in short we were best friends/ together since 16 & was mutual to have this baby. Now he's getting his masters in art at Texas Tech. I can't help but feel bitter I'm stuck in LA & can't find a job, crappy comm. college I was attending screwed me over, dropped my classes. He paid child support through December, but I'm worried I'm not going to find a job before money runs out. No one wants to work w/ my availability (FT/day shift) It's just me having to do everything for my child on my own. My sister & dad barely help as they have jobs. I feel like he left me in a dead end city with no prospects while he gets to be free. All I want is an education so I can get a job that's better than min wage so I can move out of Nola on my own & go where I can give my daughter a good education & safe area to live. I thought I was free of this place when I moved to TX to be w/ him bc he asked me to (we grew up in LA, Katrina moved him to TX & I followed later) I feel stuck & can't progress forward. I'm restricted by the courts to LA & TX only when he moved further out in TX for school & doesn't even have his monthly visitation anymore bc he did this. Idk what to do. How can I get to a point where I can stand on my own two feet when it feels like the odds are against me? Please give me advice on what my next step should be? |
Question: My mom is stealing my paychecks?!?!? Posted: 28 Sep 2015 10:02 PM PDT Hello! I'm almost 16 years old, and I've been working since I was 14 to buy a car. I joked with a good friend that I might come and see them once I got my car, and my mom took it as literal, withdrew all the money from my bank account (which she wasn't on to begin with because she has done this before), forged my signature on an automatic deposit form to turn into my place of employment, and redeposited all of my money in an account which I can't even touch. Is that even legal, to take my money without permission, and then not even let me see the account? I always get the mail, so I steal "my" account statements, and there are mysterious withdraws everywhere. She's stealing my money! Whenever I do something wrong, she threatens and actually does take up to $300 from my account. If I don't get up on time in the morning, it's $2, if I don't do my 30 minutes of excersice, it's $3, etc. I don't feel like this is fair, considering that I don't get allowance period. So, she doesn't have a job, and hasn't since she could collect a social security check under my name. God knows what she is using my money for. Is there any way to get it back? I don't feel like she should be entitled to my hard-earned money, expecially when she forged my signature AND uses it as leverage to make me do things she is too lazy to do (mow the lawn, do her laundry, vacuum the house, ON TOP OF my regualr chores of cleaning our bathroom, doing the dishes, vacuuming the upstairs, etc. |
Posted: 28 Sep 2015 10:00 PM PDT Okay, so first off I'm not a very social person. The only good relationships I have are with my family. My sister and I share clothes. I was eyeing what I was going to wear. In the morning I pick out the blouse I want to wear and my sister tells me she was going to wear it. I go ahead and wear it because I was already planning to wear it. My mom gets involved because my sister starts crying. She tells me to take it off and give it to her. By the way my sister pulls this stuff on me all the time and my mom doesn't care. I tell her no and don't give it to her. My sister gets over it pretty quickly. When I get home from school I thought it would all blow over but my mom is angry at me. I feel like I'm right and I need another persons insight on who is right on this. If you feel I'm wrong tell me how I could make my mom forgive me. Should I apologize? |
