Question: Do I bring wedding gift box to the ceremony or reception? Posted: 22 Sep 2015 09:42 PM PDT I'm getting marry in a few days. The ceremony is in a garden and the reception is in a banquet hall. Some of my guests are only coming to the ceremony only not to the reception. Do I bring the gift box and Guestbook to both or just the reception? Thanks. |
Question: How to rent a field for my wedding reception!!? Posted: 22 Sep 2015 08:42 PM PDT My fiancé and I don t want an incredibly formal wedding. What I want is to have a small ceremony and then go to a field that I can decorate myself. I want to be able to bring my own food/beverages, decorations, and entertainment. I seem to be having a hard time finding a place that will let me do my own reception. I live in Northwest Indiana. Does anyone know of a website or somewhere I should contact to be able to rent my own little field, forest, or meadow for one day?? Thank you! |
Question: Should i go to my friends wedding? Posted: 22 Sep 2015 07:20 PM PDT My sister has cancer so i want to go take care of her because it could be the last time i see her but my friends wedding is in a couple weeks and he has asked me to be his best man. Should i go to my sisters or go to the wedding? |
Question: When do you announce your wedding date? Posted: 22 Sep 2015 06:21 PM PDT I am getting married after my fiance graduates university. He found out his graduation date won't be until Fall 2016 (they tacked a couple extra classes on to his plan for him to get his degree) so we are thinking of doing it spring 2017 to give him time to settle into a job before we move in together. Obviously that is a ways away, so when should we announce the date officially to people? A year from the date? Six months etc? |
Question: Do you have to choose a maid of honor? Posted: 22 Sep 2015 06:16 PM PDT For my bridesmaids I am having my two sisters and a close friend of my fiance. I am having trouble deciding who I want to be my maid of honor though. My older sister doesn't really want to be it, my little sister does. HOWEVER my little sister is so picky and has been making a big deal out of dumb things (she asked if she could be barefoot at my wedding, and complained when I said no. Telling me she wont wear specific colors for BMs dress even if it fits my theme.) I know she loves me but she is picky, and also she got a job two hours away and I rarely get to see her or our schedules don't match to text/talk on the phone to plan things. So I don't know if I want her to be MoH since she doesn't have time to work with me. I could also choose my fiance's friend, as she has told my fiance she would be willing to do it. She is definitely more supportive of my wishes than my little sister, but I am not super close to her or anything. I don't really have any close friends at the moment besides my man, so that's why I asked her (since she's his friend they will enjoy her being a part of the wedding party). But since she isn't really a close friend of my OWN I would feel weird asking her to have that responsibility. Also she too is away to college and not always available for planning. So do I have to choose a maid of honor? Has anyone done it that way before? |
Question: I m looking for a place for my wedding in Central Florida.? Posted: 22 Sep 2015 04:04 PM PDT I m looking for a venue where we can actually get married and have the reception in the same location. I also want it to have a kitchen that we can use and bring our own food. |

Question: How would you plan a wedding, after being with your partner for 20 years? Posted: 22 Sep 2015 11:16 AM PDT My boyfriend/life partner and I have been together for 20 years. We met in 1995, after we had gone through very emotionally, and financially devastating divorces with our first spouses. We have 4 kids together. Their ages are 17, 15, 14 and 14. Our kids are excited to see us get FINALLY get married. They want us to have a big, over the top, 'fairy tale' wedding. We are definitely NOT planning anything like that. We aren't sure how we should plan a wedding after being together for 20 years. So I'm asking you all out there. How would you plan a wedding, after being with your partner for 20 years? We're open to helpful suggestions and hints. @ Parvati, Including our children is something that we will do. Right now were really busy with the kids, college (me & him), and setting aside the time to get married. @ Valleycat, there are a few places that hold very special memories for us, but right now we can't get to them. |
Question: Name change after marriage? Posted: 22 Sep 2015 11:11 AM PDT American women are forced to change their name when they marry? That's what I see in the movies, but I don't know if it's true, if it is, I find very unfair and sexist, for me, the person's name is her identity. I would not want to adopt the name of a man, I have my own name, I am not indigent. In my country, women can choose whether they want to adopt her husband's name or not, and he can also take her if him want. What do you think of the name change? Really? They can change the name? As well, invent a new name ??? Ah, merge the names seem fairer Well, I'm glad that is not a requirement. Thanks for the responses! I would not feel honored to change my name Ocimum, and if a guy can not understand that, then he's not the guy I want to get married. Nothing against the use of the hyphen. ρερρεяЬεαѕτ, perhaps it has not turned out exactly the way I meant, because English is not my first language, but emphasis on the "but I DO NOT KNOW IF IT'S TRUE, IF IT IS, I find very unfair and sexist, for me, the person's name is her identity. Question: Do Sylvie engement rings come with a wedding band for free? Posted: 22 Sep 2015 10:53 AM PDT Their website says "Every Sylvie Collection bridal ring is designed with a wedding band to match. All wedding bands are flush fit." Does that mean they come with the purchase of an engagement ring, or do you have to purchase the band separately ? |
Question: My friend is throwing a bachloreete and guests are expected to pay their own way.? Posted: 22 Sep 2015 08:49 AM PDT The invites were sent out to attend her bachloreete party. (We're more acquaintances) The guests are expected to pay for their own dinner, drinks, hotel and fun. If it were me, I'd have everything prepaid and invite people. I think if you can't afford it, then you don't do it. I can apply my money to something more useful. I've told her I won't be able to attend due to school and work obligations- she's not getting the hint. |

Question: Cocktail Style wedding reception in the tri-state area? Posted: 19 Sep 2015 08:49 PM PDT Help! I m newly engaged and looking to have a casual cocktail style reception. I m on a tight budget for the NY area, I really dont want to spend more than 12,000 - and we are expecting approx 125 people. I ve looked into a bunch of lofts, but site fees alone where over $5,000. I have also looked into some venues that have All inclusive deals, and they were nice for a sit down dinner but I don t think their cocktail/buffet options are that great. Does anyone have any suggestions for anywhere in long island, brooklyn or queens? I ve seen some cheaper option out in suffolk county but I m really looking for nassau county closer to the city. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! |
