It's a new school with entirely new people for both of us so our close friends went to a different high school. For example, this happened today: I was sitting with my friend in this lounge room at school when suddenly, this guy in our class comes and lies down on my lap. I didn't even say anything, even though I was reaaaallly uncomfortable. All I said was "well this is awkward", and that's it! He just lied there for the rest of the break until we had to go to class. He's kind of good friends with my friend, but I never even spoke to him before. I wanted to just tell him to get off, but once again, I was too awkward to confront him. He went on a date the other day and today when I saw him, I asked him how it went. The girl is in my grade except I don t know her, so naturally I asked what she was like. He said she is "depressed" right now and doesn t like to talk about herself. The last girl my friend had dated was also pretty dark, so I asked him if that was his type. To which he responded to me with "at least I have that, you don t even have a personal life." When I struggled to defend myself, he goes "Where s your boyfriend?" Then when he saw that affected me, he finalizes with "Ooh, low blow!" I haven t had a boyfriend in this past year that I ve known him so that s where he gathered the insight. I also haven t had one in a long time so this is why I am feeling extra affected. He embarrassed me and put me down and even acknowledged it was a shitty comment with the "low blow" addition too. He s done stupid stuff to me in the past such as exploiting this one bad grade I earned to everyone and now he s made me feel bad about my love life. The only reason I still hang out with him is that because he is so uncensored, he is very fun. But I don t know. Our relationship has been strong, and we shared many touching moments. However, as we reached high school, he started to steal my jokes, friends, and opportunities (involuntary I believe). For example, I would be walking down the hall and start talking with someone. Realizing this, my friend would usually enter himself into the conversation, somehow block me out and eventually walk away with the person I was talking with. Also, a lot of classmates used to ask me for assistance when they didn t understand something. Again however, once I start helping them, my friend starts cutting in, and people eventually decide to find him for future help. Lastly, I usually like to create some funny/witty comments or jokes during conversations with others, but my friend ends up using my joke everywhere as his own. Almost every one of his actions seem to negatively impact me, and they have been for a while. In all, he is a smart and helpful person. We help each other in academics or in games, and we usually get along very well. However, the examples I mentioned above have been driving me crazy! Old friends have stopped talking to me, and I never get a chance to make strong relationships with new ones! Please help! |

I used to be really outgoing and then idk what happened. I moved to a new school last year as a sophmore in high school and then i got in trouble for smoking pot. But i was hanging out with some of the cool kids ya know. Then we all got caught and im the only one at school now out of them. I know smoking pot isnt cool and i dont do it anymore. But when i got to go back to school the next year after a semester of suspension i didnt really know anyone. And im really shy and awkward and i hate it. So ive been hanging out with these guys that are really shy and lazzzy. They dont do anything and dont want to. I know it sounds rude but there lame. Im not asking them to smoke pot or anything. They just have no desire to do anything funny or have any high school experience at all. I want to leave there group and hang with some other kids and be more open. I know it sounds rude, but ive never been like this. Ive always been awkward but hey they need to grow up. Were juniors and they act like old men. We went to the state fair today and they did nothing but sit on benches and ask me for money for food cuz they didnt bring anything. And they have jobs believe it or not. |

This morning I found out she told her mom that I was gay. I told her that she had ruined my life. She was acting mad at me all day. I wrote her a note saying I wasn't going to apologize. For the first few weeks it was great, then I found out that she has a kid! I left home to get away from little kids. He's also noisy as all hell and when he's here my roommate just turns on cartoons in the livingroom then just lays in her room having face time conversations. She plays rap music which I HATE with a firey passion. She's not a bad roommate really, but I have a sacred rule against unnecessary noise. I missed my first class because she decided to watch TV until 1am and I couldn't sleep. Really I just want to have my own place (which may happen if she leaves). Also, her family lives in town so I don't even know why she moved out. So how do I make her decide to move out or switch roommates? Also, don't you think that someone should be informed if their roommate has a kid and decide to opt out? |

The proceeds are then split by the fraternity 's philanthropy and the sorority winner's philanthropy, etc. (supposed to be for a good cause). My boyfriend basically told me that he wanted me and my best friend to be in his video. I didn't think it would be a big deal until he said that in the video he wanted my best friend to be in bed with him wearing his fraternity's apparel (he said I'd be in there as well i guess). I just started at a new school and i've found a couple of really nice people. There's this one girl, I was actually good friends with for many years, but then she turned out to be an awful person. The other doesn't like the toxic friend that much either, but I don't think he hates him as much as I do. So basically, if I stop hanging out with this friend he and my other friend will hate me and talk **** about me. (I know for a fact that they do that). And if I stop hanging out with them I'll be all alone. I can't handle that. I have extreme anxiety and can't work with someone I don't know or be alone for a long time since I'm very sensitive. What should I do? If i keep hanging out with this toxic friend I will be unhappy, but if I stop I will also be unhappy. |

They'd been friends for years, worked together, and he always thought they would be great together, but have not worked together for 2 years. | Question: How to deal with an awkward friend? Posted: 21 Sep 2015 12:45 PM PDT My boyfriend and I go to the same church as this girl. We are all college age. He has known her for many years, but is not close to her at all. She claims to be his best friend, and likewise she claims that he is her best friend. We think that she was just really poorly socialized as a child, but that doesn't make it easier to deal with. For example, my boyfriend, his father, and I were all having a conversation right after church, and she loudly said "My butt feels funny! I didn't work out or anything, it just feels all tingly and sore! Isn't that funny? I wonder why." She is constantly oversharing and talking about personal issues. It's recently gotten worse because she comes to see me every Sunday when I am volunteering in the nursery. She's been asking me to hang out with her because she doesn't have any other friends. She's super insecure about herself, and I do feel bad for her, but it is really socially exhausting to be around her for more than a few minutes. A conversation leaves me feeling awkward and irritable. I love her as a person, and I want to help her, I just don't know how. What do I do? |

I'm just really busy working full time, going to school full time, my bf and dealing with my health issues that I have. I know I can easily text her and make plans to hang out. But the reason I haven't is because she can do the same as well and it's normally me the one making the plans to hang out or texting the other person first and I think it should be both people doing it. | Question: Confused about this girl? Posted: 21 Sep 2015 12:21 PM PDT We are the same age and I met her a few months ago while at work at the hotel I work at. She stays with her family every month and I hadn't seen her for 2 months until yesterday. The downsides is she lives almost 4 hours away. She was all smiles and we would talk and smile a lot and her entire family came to eat breakfast and they all asked me questions as I worked behind the desk (almost as if they wanted me to ask her out). I wrote my name and number down and when she came back to talk to me I gave it to her. She was really excited and all smiles and said she was dying to talk to me. She came back and gave me a piece of paper that was a note that said she liked me a lot, but she wasn't sure where this would go. I said I was looking at doing my graduate degree in a few years in a larger city and she said that was far away. She also wrote we should be friends because we have to start somewhere and that she is always here for me and how she would text me soon and she couldn't wait to see me again. I am just trying to understand everything she wrote. |

Posted: 21 Sep 2015 12:15 PM PDT My friends little brother is quite destructive in a very bad way one day my friend was sitting and his brother jumped behind him a kneed his back and his rib is out of place slightly and yesterday my friend let him play xbox then my friend wanted to play a bit then he started calling him names then he grabbed my friends throat so my friend pushed him away and poked his eye by accident so he started crying and got my friend into trouble he also starts throwing stones at things when you tell him to stop he insults you and then loses his nut and threatens you he breaks things all the time he once started choking my cousin who's only 10. I am 20 years old and I dropped out of HS when I was 18 even though all my teachers had great expectations of me. They would tell me that I was a bright student with qualities that schools like Harvard looked for and would be very successful and I did try my best in school. I have always struggled with depression, ever since I was bullied throughout 5th - 7th grade, It's become hard for me to make friends and open up towards others. I feel like that was one of the main reasons why I dropped out of HS. Now I'm 20 years old, I screwed up my life and my ex-girlfriend/best friend is starting college and she's having fun and I feel like she's moving on with her life and will soon forget about me. I literally have no one to talk to. I don't know what to do. Or where to start. I just need some advice? |
