Posted: 17 Jun 2015 08:59 PM PDT My sister is getting married at a court house then a party afterwards because her and my brother in law can't afford a traditional wedding. I don't agree with this but I was told to just accept that she made that decision. |
Posted: 17 Jun 2015 08:52 PM PDT We are a middle class family if that matters. My mom told me if I put together a proposal she would look at it and consider letting me have the party, I would like to try to keep it as low budget as possible while still maintaining a classy atmosphere. So how much is too much? what is a reasonable price for reception hall, cater, etc.. also what is a reasonable price to spend on the whole thing in general? |

Posted: 17 Jun 2015 03:22 PM PDT I am looking for a place outdoors in nature to have a small wedding ceremony. I was originally going to get married at the courthouse but, I want to have a wedding ceremony outdoors that would feel a little more intimate and special. I don't really have an idea what place to look at. |
Question: Getting married this weekend, fiancé wants her bridesmaids in our hotel room? Posted: 17 Jun 2015 02:27 PM PDT I wish this was a joke but it's not. My fiancé already had her bachelorette party at some bar and she wants to bring her 3 bridesmaids with us in my suv and take them to our hotel. They want to drink all night with us and they want to watch us get it on. I told her she's lying (she got home late drunk). She then went over the wedding with me over again and then said her bridesmaids are going to bring sleeping bags in our hotel room. I know 2 of them very well, 1 since high school (her maid of honor) and the other once is nice, older woman from her work that's married the other 2 are not. My fiancé really wants her bridesmaids to watch us have sex? Is this odd? I've never performed in front of other people much less a camera. |
Question: Does Sister in Law wants me to go to her Bachelorette even though she invited me? Posted: 17 Jun 2015 02:04 PM PDT Me and my BF have been together for 10 years, but we never became super close although we do talk and everything is good. We are more like acquaintances and if I do see them, it's always at family functions. Sister invited me to come to her Bacherolette in Vegas for 3 days. Her other sister is planning and we have been coordinating via email (we're not that close either). I explained to her that I want to go, but I do feel awkward that I don't know any of her 10 friends and asked if her room she was staying in was full. She said that the two sisters are staying together and 2 bridesmaid so yes their room is full, so she told me to coordinate with the other 10 girls (who I don't know) and stay with them. I'm just bummed out bcuz I thought that they would invite me to be in their room. The whole purpose that I wanted to go was to get closer to them, but I feel there is a barrier. It's crazy that after 10 years, we are still not close no matter how hard I try. I am not sure if she just invited me to be nice, out of respect, but thinking I won't go. What do you guys think? Should I still go knowing I'll stay in some room with random chicks? I am very social, but it's weird cuz I will know no one. Do you think the sisters are being mean? |
Question: How to get married in Las Vegas? Posted: 17 Jun 2015 01:22 PM PDT I want to get married in Vegas because I don't want to pay for a wedding. My mom and my fiance's mom got married in Vegas and they make it seem so easy. Everywhere that I look online though, you have to purchase a package from a chapel and most chapels don't let you take your own photos or have your own bouquet or let other people come with you etc... I thought that you could get your marriage license, walk into a chapel, pay the minister fee and be done. But I want my immediate family and his immediate family to be there and I want my own bouquet as well as to take my own photos. I don't need a package, but every chapel I look into only has packages or ridiculous costs for bringing your own stuff. Help please |
Question: What's so wrong with wearing a white tuxedo? Posted: 17 Jun 2015 01:08 PM PDT I've been planning my wedding for awhile now and I've always envisioned the guys wearing white tuxedos with yellow vest underneath, since my wedding colors are yellow and seagreen, and the bridesmaids are wearing seagreen dresses but my fiance decided to spring it on me when we were at the tuxedo shop picking it out that he doesn't want to wear white and prefer black! I was so angry that I just left him in the store! I don't get why he can't do this for me for one day. What is so wrong with white? |
Question: Brother/Sister Dance at Wedding? Posted: 17 Jun 2015 11:49 AM PDT I am getting married this October. My soon-to-be husband's mother passed away a few years ago and while wedding planning he decided that he wanted to do a Brother/Sister dance in place of the Mother/Son... I need suggestions on what songs would be appropriate.... Thanks in advance |
Question: What kind of dress should I wear to a wedding? It's in less than two weeks? Posted: 17 Jun 2015 11:36 AM PDT Maxi? midi? Bodycon? What kind of dresses aren't appropriate? It's my cousin's wedding and since we're Vietnamese I imagine it would be pretty traditional and conservative. |
Question: How hot is too hot for an outdoor wedding reception? Posted: 17 Jun 2015 11:00 AM PDT It is suppose to be 85 on Saturday. The wedding ceremony and reception are outdoors. They are both in shaded areas that tend to be breezy and start at four. There is a small air conditioned building on the grounds that will house the food and bathrooms. It also has a full kitchen and a small seating area with room for a half dozen or so people. There is an indoor reception space but it is sort of dumpy looking and will be isolated from the outdoor games and activities. If you were a guest which would you prefer? It does get pretty humid around here. |
Question: Proposing to him...? Posted: 17 Jun 2015 10:57 AM PDT I have been with my boyfriend for going on 4 years and we have been through a whole lot together. I feel Like he is truly my soul mate and the one who I will spend the rest of my life with. We've had discussion before about marriage and building a family and life together, but never anything solid. I think that he wouldn't be opposed to us getting married sooner than later because I know how much he loves and cares for me. Lately I've been hearing stories of women taking charge and proposing to their men and one day I got the idea of doing the same to mine. I know that its out of tradition for the girl to propose, but I feel like their is no time like the present and that it would show him how much I really love him and want him in my life. How do y'all feel about girls proposing and what would be a special way to do it? |
Posted: 17 Jun 2015 08:48 AM PDT I kept and pressed rose petals from several bouquets my fiance has given me during our relationship. I was considering having the flower girl throw those during the wedding processional. Or maybe a mix of those and fresh? I just don't know if that's too hokey, though. I am the sentimental type. So it goes with my personality. But, I don't know. . . I'd appreciate some objective opinions, please. Thanks! |
