My best friend rarely seems to care or even if she does its like she gets annoyed by me or we are more like aqquaintances.. So i get things change as do people but what happened here? Last year we were inseperable she would always text me, wish me good luck texts even before my game or text me after saying "heard you won congrats😘" we would always hang out, have so much fun, be laughing and smiling, this year is so different. She doesnt text me anymore..it always me and sometimes i dont because it takes her long times to reply and sometimes she says im sorry for not texting as much ive been busy like thats ok! I understand we get busy! So do i, we both do sports and stuff.. I tried making new friends and i have a lot but she is someone im kind of caught on.. Cuz idk what changed. She got closer with this girl who likes to party and drink and smoke a lot amd my best friend is starting to do that more and i dont do that.. Its her life she can do what she wants but sometimes a few days shell be perfectly fine not exactly the way it used to be but shell say hi to me and start a conversation other days she stare at me and walk right by me.. I always say hi and compliment her cuz i love her so much and care about her and what to talk to her, but sometimes when i feel i get nothing back it realy upsets me.. Anyway, I had the pleasure of dining twice at a restaurant serving delicious East European cuisine. The waitress is a young, cheerful, and pretty Ukrainian lady employed by the small family-run restaurant but is not related to the owners/staff in any way. We got talking, during my 2nd visit to the restaurant, about Russia, Ukraine, culture/society, food, economy, etc. Of course, we didn't talk too much. It's her workplace and she had duties to attend to and I respect that. Before I left the restaurant, I asked her if she wanted to meet someplace for coffee, after I return to town from my vacation in a few weeks. She said, "Maybe. We will see." I respect her and her answer. Maybe she wants to get know me better first before meeting outside the workplace. I would do same if I was a lady. She is wise. One can't be too careful nowadays. I want to develop a friendship with her, friends at first of course, but if it develops into more, I would welcome it. I am young and like to know people from many different cultures/nations and learn about different cultures/nations. She indicated to me that she misses her native country of Ukraine a lot. On my 3rd visit in a few weeks, after I return from vacation, I am thinking I will give her a tiny gift of a cheerful fridge magnet, a magnet that is a Ukrainian souvenir from a Ukrainian Bookstore/Giftshop, and when I give it to her, I will say to her that "Whenever you miss your parents and your country and you are feeling sad, just look at this magnet and it will remind you of Ukraine and make you happy." My questions are, is it appropriate to give her that tiny gift of a fridge magnet on my 3rd visit? Is it way too soon? Is it over-doing it? The way I see it is events like music festivals or paint raves are perfect things to invite people to. They are entertaining and it's something that you would miss out on if you didn't go. On the other hand, things like concerts or parties might be fun but you wouldn't be missing out on anything because you could just go to a concert or party whenever you want. These problems has been so bad that she has felt the need to take pills from her friend and cut. This girl and I kinda had something going, but she wanted to take it very slow because of all her problems. But today when I came to school i could hear her in the bathroom coughing quite a lot. Knowing that she could have taken some pills I began asking her if she was ok and all. I ended up finding a teacher who she then talked to in another room. I looked in the bathroom and saw a pill bottle and a glass of water. I found out that she had taken them, and then vomited it out again from regret. She was escorted home with her parents and i wont be seeing her for maybe a week. I want to call her tomorrow, every day actually, to ask her how she is. But i've always been bad at that kinda stuff. I need some tips on what I can do to keep a conversation going. I'm also not sure if I should keep calling her, not sure if she just needs to be alone. This thing has affected me a lot as well. Having trouble sleeping and all, i am actually writing this on my phone at almost 1am now. I can use any tips you can give me. Thank you in advance. :) |

Her family was basically my family and vice versa, we had pictures of her family in our house and they had pictures of us in theirs. Our mums were best friends too, my mum delivered her youngest sister (she's a midwife). I was there for her when her dog died and when she got a new one, I was there went her sister had to go to hospital, we were always there for eachother. We stayed in touch when we went to high school and we met up like once a month and we missed eachother so much that she decided to move to my high school :)) but at my high school, she made friends with other people, and completely ignored me. That was two years ago and I still miss her like crazy, I have never had a friend that I have been as close to as I was with her. It's like I have a crush on her (but I don't lol) every time I see her my heart just races. We NEVER speak, we haven't said a word to eachother since like the first week she started my school but we walk past eachother everyday. And her sister started high school and she completely ignores me too, we haven't actually spoken since she's been at the school. I've been backstabbed so many times I've lost count and I feel like all people are evil and that they cannot be trusted. I was backstabbed this friday by a guy whom I was supposed to hang out with after school graduation but then he just changed his mind and he was going to do something else and I just rode my moped home crying. And as for girls, I've been rejected badly enough to make me lose faith in them at all. It feels just like one of those other things in life that others can have but I can't. My dad somehow saw this on my instagram, got my friend's phone number, and texted them to tell him to delete it. I'm 16 years old and about to be a junior in high school, and I'm close enough to this person to the point where they won't make fun of me for it, but I'm still incredibly embarrassed. My dad doesn't know I know he did this, so my question is whether I should approach him about it, and whether this is insane or not (because I think it is) It still would've been an overreaction for my dad to tell me to tell my friend to delete it, but I think that would've been more decent then going behind my back. About 2 months ago, I was planning to prompose to my crush and I had made a sign and I had YM help me. YM and I agreed to do it at the beginning of 6th right after lunch. But during lunch I went to the room where we me and my friends usually hang out and I noticed my crush holding a poster and hugging YM and people clapping and I realized what was going on, my crush promposed to YM. I walked in right after it happened and YM apologized saying she had no idea he would prompose to her and she said yes but it was just so sudden for her that she just said yes in the heat of the moment. After it happened I was crying so much for the rest of the day and after it happened. As time went on (about a week before prom) I started to get really upset and cried about it a lot and was trying to tell YM about how I felt. And she seemed to be upset with me because I was crying again. I feel as she doesn't understand how much she hurt me from that (btw she still went to prom with my crush). Even though prom is over I'm still really mad at her (like mentally cursing her out in my head every time I think of her mad) All I really want to do is just talk to her about how I feel and just not be mad at her anymore and feel at peace. I do not want to go because I used to go to school with that class until I left because of bullying/etc. I know I sound selfish for not wanting to go but it's just very weird/awkward for me watching them graduate and if I didn't leave I would be there. it's not like I like any of those people. This doesn't really matter but I kind of wish I had a graduation. I graduated this year but didn't get a graduation and honestly still sometimes feel a lot regrets for leaving because i don't get these things with online school. When I did try to party I was by myself on my phone, or was receiving promising looks from girls but was too shy and insecure to engage a conversation, havent been in a relationship in 5 yrs;p. Even at my job I only really talk to one/two associates and I've been there about a yr. I have no activities to do or hobbies, I'm always inside the house playing video games or on the internet. And during school if I had to prepare a project and present it to the class 9/10 I was bound to skip that period which effected my grades. | Question: How to get friends to ask ME? Posted: 14 Jun 2015 12:54 PM PDT I just made some new friends who are twins and we are all 16 years old and all males, if that helps with answering the question. In the past I have had trouble keeping friendships and most only last a week. We would hangout once and never talk again. I don't get it, I always shower, I always keep a positive attitude and I'm super nice. Anyway, the twins seem interested in me and I've asked if they wanted to hangout and they say sure come over and we all hung out. I'm just waiting now for them to invite ME first instead of me asking. And I've asked a question like this before and no, they're not the type of people who like to go out for a coffee, they don't like going to a bunch of places, they just like to go over to a friends house and "chill" So what can I do to seem more appealing so they want to invite ME FIRST instead of me asking first? | Question: Why does he hate me? Posted: 14 Jun 2015 12:48 PM PDT So this week my brother has made it his goal to make my life hell, last friday he threw permanent ink at my face in the morning, dropped my trunks & pushed me down the stairs & I split my lip open, then over the weekend we went to the same party & he didn't want to talk to me & when I tried to confront him he made a scene, threw his drink at me & kicked me in the nuts, it hurt so much :( Then this morning he went on my social and posted 2 comments on my picture, they were; Hot, perfect 👆haha you may look good but you're deaf haha! Nobody wants to date a deaf boy! 😝 and at school he pushed my down the stairs again, and at lunch he started throwing food at me & we started to fight, we both ended up at the principal's office & our mom was called :( After they got into an argument he finally told her that he's doing this because his crush, Stacy told him that I was "Way hotter" & that he should kill himself! So he wanted to stain my face, but I didn't do anything.. I am confused right now, I love my brother but I'm tired of what he's doing to me like I'm some sort of punching bag & I know he doesn't really hate me, at least I think he doesn't but he keeps ASL (sign languaging) me that he hates me! I went to public school up to seventh grade then I transferred because of bulling/etc. me and her stayed very good friends though. I want to support her but I just feel very uncomfortable watching them graduate. If I didn't leave public school I would be there. I graduated this year but I don't get a graduation so watching everyone I know have one is definitely awkward for me. Especially watching people I know but don't socialize with anymore getting handed their diploma. Am i overreacting or would you feel the same way also? Posted: 14 Jun 2015 12:27 PM PDT So I usually go to my friend's work and hang with him, and we've been best friends for about 3-4 years. So anyways, it was nearing the end of his shift and he was counting the money in register (like you're supposed to) and I let him be so he could count the money, and then he kept coming up short, and he counted it a few times. Then he looked at me and said,"Did you take it?" And jokingly, I shook my head yes. Then he said, "Seriously?" Then I said, "No. How could I have reached he register anyway? Even when you had the money on the counter, you saw every move I made." Even if I did, someone would have noticed the way the registers are and how the counters are set up. Then after that, he told his coworker over $5 was missing, and earlier I told my friend I had $10...then, when the store closed (he had to stay to clean and stuff) he gave me a hug and said he'd text me later, and I left. It honestly really hurt my feelings that he thought I took it. He should know by now if I want or need something, all I have to do is ask my mom. (I'm not spoiled, if my mom says no, then it's a no, but still I have everything I need. I have NO reason to steal). I may have made mistakes in my life, and I'm not perfect, and I may have done things I'm not proud of, but I've never stolen anything. My family has left hundreds of dollars lay and I've never touched it. Should I let it go or talk to him calmly about it? Should I text him or talk to him face to face? Please and thank you! |

I mean i dont think they were doing it on purpose but it was still rude! During the concert, they were hugging eachother the entire time! One friend even asked to be next to the other when i ended up in the middle because she "also didnt know any of the songs" and i did. Like wtf. And then when one friend had to go anywhere, she would tell the other to come with her and not me. They HAVE known eachother for longer, but the friend that was doing most of the exluding normaly gives all her attention to me and excludes other people because she is talking to me. It just hurt to have it the other way around.... |

Posted: 14 Jun 2015 11:37 AM PDT so i dont want to seem snobby or anything, just putting it out there. but i have a friend, and we met in 6th grade (im in 8th) we used to be best friends in 6th and we drifted. i wasnt at all popular but towards the middle/end of 6th grade my popularity level rose. in 7th grade i was one of the most popular girls, and me and this friend started to drift because of this, we were just hanging out with different people. mind you that i could be friends with anyone, and i cant hurt anyones feelings, im a people pleaser. we started talking more and more again towards the end of 7th grade and she became super clingy, and she knows she is, because before any text she says: hey sorry for texting again, or hey sorry for texting so much. and she always sends me long messages about how shes lucky to have me as a friend and stuff, and in one text she said " I was very sad because I realized we were starting to drift as you were becoming more popular and I was just well... I was just me😂" shes becoming very clingy sending me texts like this and stuff, and idek what to do!!! please help:( |

E.g. today my friends were relaxing in a bar garden and I was with my brother in a mall, my friend came to us to hang and then our other friends rang to see if we were about, so I was like "cool, let's do that" and my brother got very reluctant to go to the bar garden (we were basically doing a similar thing in the mall anyway) and I hadn't seen these friends in weeks so he made me face the dilemma of abandoning either him or my friends. For no absolute reason. Then decided he wanted to go home earlier than usual, which is unusual because normally he will linger around for longer in spite of the fact I want to go home and he knows it. He does this all the time, he can't be jealous, because he has his own friends. Why does he want to try and control me into doing nothing with him and him alone. |

Me and this guy have been friends for 2 of those years. We actually admitted to loving each other maybe 6 months into our friendship but we never took it past friendship as far as a title goes. We have made out heavily millions of times and we argued like an old married couple BUT, no sex. We have even Parted ways a couple times but never anything past two weeks before we were back communicating. Recently, I decided I wanted to have sex with him. A friend of mines and I decided to get a room for the weekend. I had one and she had one. Just a little "stay-cation" My friend is dating his cousin so they were going to meet us at the hotel after me and her fulfilled our promise of going to a friends bday party. After the party. something happened where we ended up meeting them at his cousins house. My friend and his cousin were in the house arguing. So I just sat in his car with him. After talking, he decided he wanted me then and there IN THE CAR. I had never done it in a car so I said why not. (I was on top of him in the drivers seat, TMI I know. Sorry) I loved it. He seemed insecure afterwards. He said "I would've been better I had you on your back) I didn't say anything because I enjoyed myself I didn't get why he would say that. This all was 2 wks ago. I texted maybe twice but it was very short and stale on his end. Idk what is wrong. When I asked, no answer. 2 yrs of friendship and he is being weird. Why? Was it me? |
| Question: Should I go to this birthday party tonight? Posted: 14 Jun 2015 11:19 AM PDT So one of my friends from school invited me to a birthday party tonight from 7pm to 10 or 11pm. She isn't really one of my main friends, she's more of an aquaintince. It's a bonfire. Some people that she invited are people that I don't talk to, or that I would feel really awkard around. One girl is bringing her boyfriend.. I mean, this party sounds fun and all, and my mom said she would drive me and pick me up afferwards, but I don't really feel like going. I'm not that great of friends with the girl anyway, and if i go there i'd probably just be there ignored or staying quiet the whole time. I'd rather be at home watching a movie or hanging out with one of my best friends and not being ignored. I wished the girl a happy birthday when it actually was her bday a few days ago. I feel like it might be rude if i don't go, because i said i would go, and plus one of my other friends is going and i'd drive her there. Posted: 14 Jun 2015 11:18 AM PDT This will require some details to understand everything, though I'm going to try to summarize the situation. Basically theres an extremely competitive class at work that a couple of us have been trying to get accepted into. Long story short, a good friend of mine had applied four different times with no luck. This last quarter was my first time applying and we were essentially competing against each other, and because of certain circumstances I got picked over him. Being the awesome person he is he texted me to say congrats, even though I'm sure he's gotta be feeling bitter about the whole thing. How do I respond?
