My dad saw my report card and he's gonna tell my mom and my mom will scream at me. What should I do? I was trying so hard to get an A- in social studies I probably forgot about math completely! I'm so panicked what should I do?! |
Question: How often is it appropriate to see one's in-laws? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 01:23 PM PDT I feel as if I see my in-laws a lot, and I find myself wanting some more space. Right now, we have a regularly scheduled weekly dinner with my husband's family. In addition to this, there is a monthly gathering with his extended family. Those are the regular events. As other things come up (holidays, graduations, birthdays, someone is visiting from out of town, etc.) we add on more events. So in the end, I see the in-laws 4-8 times a month. (I am not counting days on which I see my mother-in-law because she is spending a few hours with my baby. That's special grandma/grandchild time that happens about once a week.) Additionally, they like to vacation as a family, so we end up giving our vacation days from work to his family. They are fine people, but in general I like personal space. Even with friends that I really enjoy, I only see them about once a month or less. It isn't anything against them, I just like personal space, and I also want enough time for me, my husband, and our new baby to spend together as a family. How much time do you spend with your in-laws? Do you think that this is a lot of time to spend with one's in-laws or am I being a baby about the whole thing? |
Question: My mom is always mean to me? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 01:23 PM PDT I just can't handle this anymore. My mom is always yelling at me for stupid **** and on the rare occasion that we do get along, I always **** it up. Today we were cooking lunch together and the fire on the stove got way too high when I was about to pour the rice and I got scared for a second and accidentally spilled the rice all over the stove. All my mom did was yell at me and call me an idiot, I was in tears by the time I ran to my room. ****, im in high school for ***** sake, the only person who has ever made me cry is my mom. And I know this situation sounds petty, yeah I should of been more careful in the kitchen but it was an accident. This type of stuff happens all the type, I can't afford to screw up in front of her. She never comforts me or tells me it's going to be okay, she just yells. I hate yelling so much because of her, it's gotten to the point where I flinch whenever someone raises their voice at me, even if they're just messing around. I'm a junior and I'm just waiting until I can finally move out. Your house should be a safe place but instead I always find myself coming up with excuses to stay out late if it means spending less time at home. She tries to guilt trip me telling me she's a good mother but **** that, all she ever does is put me down and make me feel worse about myself. I'm never going to amount to anything, I'm the family screw up, I hate feeling like this and I hate being such a whiny ***** but I can't help it. I dont know what to do |
Question: Stepsister hates me? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 01:18 PM PDT My stepsister and I are not getting along. Her dad married my mom and then we moved in with them. I'm 16, she's 18( going into Sr. year of high school). She's been so surly and moody, hardly says a word, My mom's tried, no luck. I've taken my mom's advice and am trying to be pleasant( saying things like " have a good one." If I see her going out for the night. " Good night" if I see her heading to bed. " How's it going"? when I see her in the morning). Nothing works, I either get blank stares or 1 word answers. Does she hate me? |
Question: Tired of fighting, want to give up and let go? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 01:15 PM PDT I am a single mom of a 4 year girl. Separated from the father 3 years ago and have been living alone in this country with the girl since. She sees her father who lives 50 kilometers away every other weekend. Due to that we have court ordered joint custody, and we actaully can not agree on anything, my life is in hell trying to fight each and every single joint decision. I feel so lonely, tired, angry and depressed. I want to go back to my home country but I can not leave my child. I stay here for her but life is hell here having a father who just want to mess up my life because the child gets to live with me. I am so tired. My daughter loves her father, who is now remarried and has another daughter. They are 4 in a happy family there. I am alone with my daughter in a foreign country. I want to give up, let her father have her and leave. |
Question: Why is my mom abusing me? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 01:05 PM PDT She will often ask me to put back the chairs where they belong but when I put it "wrongly", like if the chair is on an angle of 15 degree off she'll just ask me to put it back again and she's just next to the darn chair! but its the complete opposite with my brother, if he needs help she's there for him and my bro doesnt even needs to ask her for help when he needs it. IN THE OTHER HAND, when i need help,i'll rarely ask her because the last time I asked her she started yelling at me telling me how incompetent I am. It have been like this for 9 f***ing years! I cant even look her in the eye because the last time I did she said: What the f*** are you looking at?!? AND plus, each time she see me having fun she looks at me and then come up to me and say: Go clean the basement floor. and some other bs like that. I know shes trying to deny my fun.WHen my brother makes a mess she ask me to clean it up even though im playing with friends on the computer. She doesnt give a single **** about me. SHe just tell me to do what she wants me to do. When i told my dad he just tell that she a low temper and she have no friend here. when we have relatives in our house my mom plays the "Nice and sweet mother that everyone loves". She talks to me normally but each time she have a chance to show that my little brother is better or have this or these she'll do it. but not with me. She's always trying to make my bro a star of the family! Im looking foward to move out bcause f*** that bi*** |

Question: Does my sister hate me? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 12:59 PM PDT So I have been depressed for many years since I was like 15-20 maybe... Then I finally got on medication and finished school and landed a career. I didn't have too many close friendships due to switching schools a lot as a troubled kid... I confided in my sister. Well as time went by we would always have talks and stuff about life and relationships and things like that.... Now I'm seeing that anything I talk about, she has to twist it.... When I would tell her horrible things that guys would do to me, she would tell me "I wish I even had a guy to talk to.." .... She put hot sauce in my hair when I was getting ready to go out (mind u I hadn't been out in so long and she knows that).... When her friend comes over I feel it's walking on serious eggshells. Her friend told me that my sister controls me and she told her friend to be quiet right away.... We had an argument in the city because they were talking down on me and pushing my luggage like it was garbage. Also, her friend stuck a knife in my drink to get candy from it.... I cried hysterically and asked my sister why the hell is she doing this.... She didn't shed one tear or apologize..... She told me to sign up for the bachelor and I thought it was a good idea & told her to come with me to casting, she said she had work . I turned to the calendar and saw she didn't. Then she said oh I don't but u don't need me there...... When I picked out a shirt for a concert, she told me I better not wear it because girls will fight me. |
Question: Is she too old to dress up? If not where can I find her a costume that fits and is cheap? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 12:51 PM PDT My daughter is 11 and for her 12 birthday her grandparents are taking her and her sister who is 14 to Disney World . My 11-year-old wants to dress up as belle so much, but she can't find a costume that would fit her and is cheap? What do I do?! |
Question: Why does my mom actually hate me? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 12:48 PM PDT i am 17 years old and i have been dealing with my mothers harmful ways since i was 4. I was always the middle child and heavily ignored by my mother when i was younger. I have a step father in my life and he loves all of us to death. My mother seems to only have hate towards me. She insults me whenever i have practically anything to say, ignores me at all costs, pretends to not hear, 'forgets' to make me dinner some nights, or is just plain abusive towards me. She throws things and yells and calls me the worst child every chance she gets. Im not a bad kid..i dont drink or smoke, my grades could be a little better, but a hardly ever go out with any friends. All i do is sit at home because she does not let me go anywhere. I just want to know why she does this? i dont cause anything and i get out of her way as much as possible. What can i do to stop this? |
Question: Would you defend your mom, sister or any other close family at this situation? plz help!? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 12:46 PM PDT Imagine this scenario (it happened to me today); You go out to a crowded supermarket/store with your mother & finally you two are waiting in the line, & after a while one woman comes & cuts the line & tries to stand in front of your mother. Your mom reminds her that in a kinda serious way, but then she gets kinda angry & says rude to her & tries to play the victim by yelling at her & saying some rude things to her (or about her loudly). Would you interfere & get involved (for example to defend your mom/sis) ? Or not? ___ It happened to us, when I went out with my mom! At that situation, I got both scared & mad. She insulted my mom & told her rude things & went on & on for a while! At that moment, I was internally telling myself things like ; No one should insult my mom like that! But on the outside, I didn't say a thing. I didn't know what the most logical thing to do was! I really wanted to defend my mom & reply to that rude woman. But I said to myself ; be calm & logical, it's their fight/argument & it's between them! Don't say anything! Then I said; no! It's my mom! I should defend her ! She would do the same for me! It's family and I should always defend family! Then I said; this woman is yelling & saying cruel things! What if she says a bad thing to me & I can't handle it & burst into tears or look weak? Anyway, I said nothing. Then we went home. But now I feel guilty & anxious. I feel weak & useless! What was the best thing to do? |

Posted: 18 Jun 2015 12:31 PM PDT I get really excited and prepare for events and activities but then the day these things are suppose to happen she always ruins it....yesterday I was supposed to go to the movies with my group of friends but I couldn't go because my mum said "meh, I don't feel like driving you. (I'm 16 and I probably could've driven myself but she won't take me to get my drivers license) I'll just take you to your club meeting tomorrow" So I wasn't really upset about the movies since i'll see my friends at a club we all go to today. But guess what? I can't go because my mum decided to take a sudden trip with her boyfriend! She told me she wasn't going a few days ago! But she changed her mind and just left! She didn't give me meal plans or anything she just f***ing left! And told me "peace out I'll see you sunday" She has the car so my brother can't drive me himself! I can't go anywhere without the car and she promised me she'd take me to events that were happening this week! I've told her of these plans at least a month ago and now I can't do s**t! I don't get to go out and have fun! I'm homeschooled! I stay home all day and watch my two little sisters24/7 it's freaking depressing being at home all the time with no social interaction. All I ask for is to go out once in awhile! I was going to a small party this Saturday with my friends for the last time for a long time since they're all going to college but now I can't. And now I want to cry. And this is only this week! She always does this |
Question: How do I deal with my *** of an uncle? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 12:26 PM PDT Sorry for my Language in my question. So I'm 17 and my uncle well great uncle (he's my grand fathers brother)is anything but that he's rude, hypnotical and is out to make my mom and my life a living Hell.I've known him all my life and in the past 3-4 years he's gotten worse he had his days when I was younger but now it just seems like every day he's arguing or trying to argue with me and my mom. The other day I took care of my grandmother and I was the best kid ever!I was a good kid and I had a good future ahead of me. The next day he was talking terably about my mom to my grandmother the others day and I said calmly "please don't talk badly about my mother in front of me thank you very much"and he got all pissed about it and then suddenly my mother was the devil and I was the spawn of the devil and then the other day he said flat out to my face "I hope you have a terrible life in the future and I hope if and when you do get married that you have a terrible husband too and your kids turn out to be terrible as well actually to think about it I hope you can't have kids because you'd be a terrible mother" this isnt even the bigining of what ge says. its getting to point where I want to physically hurt him(Ex.Punch , slap, stratch)I also wanna scream and call him every bad word in the book. Help I don't know what to do. (Oh and side note he's the brother of my dead grandfather, so the brother in law to my grandmothers Ex husband we don't even know why the hell he's still here) |
Question: My brother in law wants to call me mom? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 12:26 PM PDT He is 11 he has lived with us since he was 8 but I have known him since he was a baby. My husband is 17 years older than him. I have always been around him even when he was growing up his mother was out of the picture and he was raised by his dad and brother. He was blushing quite heavily when he asked me this he called me in his room then after 5 minutes of his awkward sentences he finally hid his face in pillows and asked me this. I think it might be a disrespect to his dead mother but I wont persist if he really wants to call me mom since I'm a mom of a 4 year old boy and I do consider him my own child. Should I let him call me mom or not. My father in law gave us the custody because he was very sick and couldn't take care of him anymore and quite honestly we love having him, doesn't makes any trouble, listens to us and is also an example for our kid. |
Question: How do I get rid of my fear of flies (bug)? I'll try anything!? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 12:25 PM PDT I reallly want to go on this hiking trip with my friends in the beginning of July but I hate the noise they make in my ear and I would always wear something over my head to not hear them. Even during the summer. I would stay inside of my house, mostly my room, to avoid going outside because I'm too afraid. I scream and yell anytime I hear the noise. Also I would evacuate from the scene. I'm 18 now and my mom is mad at me because she thinks I'm too old for this. So please help!?! |
Question: I'm 13 and my parents don't clean our house....? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 12:15 PM PDT So I'm a 13 year old, going to grade 8 next year, and my parents don't clean the house. My dad has a job, but my mom does volunteering work and most of the time she just goes on the internet. She also just started this job last year, but even then our house was never clean. I have a younger sister, but whenever I ask if she wants to help me clean, she just says she's busy. I have homework, and i'm on student council, I keep my grades up, and I'm currently studying for the IB and AP high school entrance test. I don't really have time to clean the house either, Theres rotting food in our refrigerator, our cabinets are messy, the laundry room has clothes all over the floor and our garage is a complete disaster. Its really embarrassing as my friends want to come over, but the house is a complete disaster. When they try suggesting to come over, I always have to make some excuses. I have cleaned the house several times by myself, and I plan to do this over the summer, but the house gets messy in a few days. Whenever I ask my parents why they wont help me clean the house they say, you just don't have parents who a clean house. I really want to change this, as I'm sick of living in a messy house. I myself am going to start cleaning next week and do a some cleaning later on but im scared my parents and my sister wont pick up on this, and I don't want to be so focused on maintaining a clean house as I'm starting high school next year. |
Question: Daughter's dad has suspended license--help?!? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 12:04 PM PDT My daughter's dad is wanting to have her most of the day on Father's Day. However, he has a suspended license and every time he's wanted to see her (once every couple wks), I've never said no and have always re-arranged my schedule to please his request. But now that I know how much trouble I could get into for letting him take her and knowingly let her go with his suspended license I feel like either I should make the rule of "I pick her up & drop her off" or tell him that he can meet us somewhere and see her. Am I playing too much of the Ruler or am I legitimate with my concern? |
Question: I want to move in with my dad? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 11:55 AM PDT I am not comfortable at my moms house any more I feel like she smothers me treats me like a younger child than I am. I know I sound like a stupid teenager but if you spent one day in my shoes you would understand. I just can't take it anymore. I want to move in with my dad, and I've talked to him about it and he doesn't want to go to court and go through all that stuff, is there a simple way to do that, or do you have any ideas as to how I can spend a little more time at my dads |
Question: My brother beats up my mom? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 11:48 AM PDT My brother is 19, very fat and large. I live with my dad away from my mom and brother (not divorce or anything there's just better education here, not good universities though that's why he's living with my mom somewhere else) my mom insisted on staying with him, although I'm younger and I'm in greater need to my mom. But he's so spoiled so she's staying with him. He beats her up constantly that her arm is full of bruises. She's keeping it a secret from me and my dad (I only found out recently from my aunt) he also breaks stuff, no matter how valuable. What do I do?? I also don't think I can call the cops as there, in Egypt, cops won't give a ****. Yes, Egypt is THAT shitty HELP what do I do? I'm so worried about her |
Question: My parents called me a terrible son and I am not even phased by it or have any remourse? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 11:48 AM PDT Ok my parents asked me to help them move to a few states away. Reason why I have a truck I agreed I will help on the condition that you buy my gf a plane ticket or new off road tires. They refused and said all we will buy is gas my property was damaged by there realtor in the process of us moving she recomended her brothers storage unit and the fire system went off damaging everything in the process I was devistated over then and they just said deal with it as my sports memrobila NFL action figures wich are very collectable where all destroyed by mold. I felt the least they could do is give me a plane ticket for their realtor **** up. They said no so I said I am shipping my truck so now they are very upset angry and not happy because they had to hire a private freight company to move thier stuff. It ain't cheap but I am sure a plane ticket would have been cheaper. Is it normal I feel no remourse over this my gf said yeah they could have been better about the damaged property but I should at least help them. |

Question: Why is my dad and teachers making so big a deal out of me taking a knife to school? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 11:17 AM PDT I didn't take a knife to hurt anybody. I took one so I could cut up my pineapple at lunch time. But in my first class, I got the knife outta my bag and threaten to get my friend with it. As a joke!!! Cuz he hit me with a book. And my teacher found out. And sent me to the deputy headmaster (vice principal). And I explained about the pineapple. And he wouldn't even believe me until I took the pineapple out of my bag to show him. And he stared at me like im crazy. And insult me, saying "you have problems" which he is unsure this school can handle. What, cuz I had a pineapple in my bag!! Big deal. He even called my dad. And my dad is mad about me being stupid enough to take a weopan to school. He aint allowed to call me stupid. My mom said! And he be mad about the pineapple. Saying where is the rest of my lunch and looked in my bag, which is my private property. And said I need to go back to the therapist. Cuz I wanted a fcking pineapple for lunch??? And I still haven't eaten it cuz I got sent to my bedroom without my pineapple |
Question: Is it wrong that I put hands on a girl that disrespected my mother? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 11:08 AM PDT I'm very protective of my mother and I get extremely violent and offended when someone disrespects her. My aunt has been disrespecting her for a while so I pushed her but I didn't throw any punches. Is it wrong that I did this? |
Posted: 18 Jun 2015 11:00 AM PDT So before my parents haven't let me go to my friends house but I've been able to suggest going to the movies (where of course my dad followed us) and our community center pool (where my mom sat at a nearby beach chair) They said if I got my grade up. especially in social studies they would let me do more things, which they say they have but all their examples are from before my report card came out. I think this is unfair because I got straight A's (including A minuses). Both parents have met this friend before and my dad says he likes him enough. I've never done really bad and think I should be trusted. My parents have always been overprotective and admit it but I was just wondering if other parents thought this. Thanks! Okay badly phrased title. I am friends with a boy my age and he wants me to come over his 19 year old sister not parents is the only one there |
Question: Why is my mom so mean to me all the time? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 10:51 AM PDT My younger brother who is 15 was insulting me the other day (he always does this). So I got mad and I pushed him, and he did the same. The my mother got so mad at me (not him) that she came and pushed me against the wall, scratched my arms, hit my head, and pulled my ears. I have bruises and scratches on my arms now then she threw our dogs dog bowl at my brother. I gave this one incident as an example. Basically she didn't care that my feelings were hurt from my younger brother. Keep in mind I am 20 years old, in university, and I get good grades. Regardless my mother treats me like this and doesn't appreciate me. Today I wasn't feeling well so I rescheduled my hair appointment. Again, my mother is angry at me, yelling at the top of her lungs. If I come anywhere near her she insults me. She gets really mad at the tiniest things. I can't imagine how she would act if I actually did do something bad. When I was a teenager I had to get counseling from the school because I would come to school with red arms (from my mother). I had to beg the school to not contact my mom, because if they did, she would treat me worse. Why is she like this? I feel like I am the only one with a crazy mother. Is there anyway I can stop her from acting like this? I miss the days of when I was a kid and my mother was actually nice to me. |
Question: Ex wife and half siblings? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 10:50 AM PDT My dad was married to a woman who had a son from a previous marriage. She and my dad had two kids, a son and a daughter, then they got divorced and Dad married my mom and had two kids, a son and a daughter (me). Dad's ex wife kicked out her oldest son and my mom took him in and raised him (his mom said she didn't care if he got run over by a train) and Mom helped take care of my half brother when he visited (Ex wife didn't allow Dad to see his daughter but rarely). So I grew up thinkin of my dad's former stepson as my oldest brother and I loved all four of my older siblings. Now my dad's ex is taking every chance she gets to flirt with Dad and treats my mom like crap but pretends to be Mom's friend. My oldest brother cut ties with us because of a fight his wife had with my former sister in-law (she and middle brother were still married at the time) making Momand I feel like the 'extr family'. What are you supposed to do in this situation? |
Question: I don't feel guilt of my sexual buse? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 10:48 AM PDT I never wanted it to happen. I was in elementary school when it happened. My dad and my grandpa would touch me inappropriately. None of them know the other did it. But it's been reported and my mom and I moved to another state. It's been great. I still have that question in my head though. I never wanted them to come on to me, it made me feel uncomfortable. But one day my mom told me, "You know, it wasn't your fault that they touched you." And I just looked at her and said, "I know." with such reassurance. I don't understand...starting to think that I wanted it to happen...please help. I'm being serious right now. |
Question: I need help with my Grandpa? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 10:44 AM PDT So I have moved 3 years ago to my dads my mom wanted to get rid of me and said it was my dads turn. anyway My grandpa and I had a Great Relationship he practically raised me. He emailed me 2 months ago telling me "its easier for me to write him and he answers" I feel like im engaging more in our relationship than he is. My counselor at school said my grandpa was telling me in a "nice" way that he didn't want to talk to me anymore. So I was hurt and confused and told him if that's how he felt than so be it. I told him that I don't want to talk to him anymore and I will just be sending pictures to him and nothing else. He replied and said "Cristina, That saddens me that you are ending our relationship, but if that is how you feel and you want to live your life than you do that, again it saddens Grandma and I" I cant stop crying. I never wanted it stop. I just feel like he never wanted to talk to me. I'm sad. I lost my mom she doesn't talk to me. and I felt like I was loosing the rest of my family. What do I do? I'm lost. What do I say? Can I fix this dilemma? HELP. |
Question: HELP how to explain why I drink alcohol to my parents? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 10:38 AM PDT Hi I'm 16 years old turning 17 in a few months. I know that I'm still underaged to be drinking but it seems that everywhere you go nowadays there's kids drinking and it's something that's very normal where I live. The fact that everyone's drinking isn't the reason why I do, I like to every now and then and I do it responsibly. I don't get home drunk or anything and know my limits. The problem is my parents don't want me drinking at all, they're all anti drinking and the reason is because I did get home really drunk once and puked and forgot half the night ect. Thing is I didn't know my limit and thought I could drink that much and since then they say I can't drink and get mad, which is understandable. But I learned my lesson that day, don't have that much alcohol when you go out. But last night my friends and I drank some alcohol. I was fine though but when I got home my mom said I smelled of alcohol. She said things like that my friend was bad influence on me (she wasn't and helps me out a lot and is a really good influence actually) and I get that she'd be upset because of what happened the last time, except I wasn't drunk this time but my parents are the type to not let go of something easily and always find a way to hold it against me. The incident where I got drunk happened some 8 or more months ago. I've learned from my mistake but they don't seem to understand that. How do I handle this/what do I say? I want them to understand that there will be ....(continue reading) |
Question: Is it wierd that my 13 year old brother doesn't know about sex? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 10:36 AM PDT |
Posted: 18 Jun 2015 10:09 AM PDT Why do women continue to argue even after the guy is quiet? My mom and dad get andry over the littlest things. example:my dad accidentally threw away my moms food, and my mom started to argue and yell. then after he apologized, she kept going on and on and just seemed like she was trying to piss him off. any reason for this? |
Posted: 18 Jun 2015 09:54 AM PDT She has physically abused my kids proven in court but because I am an American the court said it was safer in Austria. She has sued me to retroactively raise my child support going back three years because my son is finally turning 14 and has stated for over 6 years he wants to live with me. She provides alcohol and cigs to my 16 year old daughter and has since she was 14, hence the reason my daughter decided it was better with her mom. My daughter has since turned to cutting herself and living with her boyfriend because home life sucks so bad. This has been a living he'll and I feel so betrayed that my parents would give her birthday cards and money. |
Question: Am I being abused by my parents? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 09:43 AM PDT Am I being abused by my parents or is it my fault? My parents allow me to lock my door but they don't like it when I do. Anyways, today my mom angrily banged on the door and told me to come out. I was just about to sleep so I got in a bad mood and came out. Then my mom started yelling at me to help her clean the house and my dad yelled at me because my dress was low cut. He told me to cover up. I rudely said okay and I walked away with lots of attitude. Then my dad started yelling at me to never talk to him like that again. Anyways, since I was pissed off and in a bad mood I continued with the attitude. Then my dad started yelling and so did my mom and they were both shouting at me. So I started shouting too and the top of my lungs. Then my dad tried to hit me and I hit him back. He slapped me and then I punched him. He hit me again and slapped him. Then he hit me even more and I hit him back. Then he took off his shoe and hit me and told me to respect him. The whole time I was glaring at them both. I told them that their voices were annoying. Who is in the wrong? When I say "yell" or "yelling", I mean that my parents were shouting at me and insulting me and really hurting my feelings. |
Question: How do i deal with a 15 year old younger brother? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 09:43 AM PDT I'm 17 years old and I just graduated high school and I have no idea what the **** I'm doing with this whole life thing. Family is constantly pushing me to do something, I feel like I can't decide for myself and every time I THINK I know what I want someone says something and I start second-guessing myself. It doesn't help that it feels like my dad is try to passive-aggressively get me out of the house. So I'm pretty stressed from that. But I wish that's all I had to deal with. My parents are divorced and I currently live with my dad who honestly doesn't really sit down and talk with us like a parent should. Neither does my mom. Now because my mom doesn't live with us I'm expected to take care of things that my dad can't. That includes my 15 year old brother. Now my brother CONSTANTLY games to the point that he doesn't take care of himself and has failed a grade and he might be failing again. He is very loud on the game as well (which tbh I'm at my wits end with) Puts things in the floor and doesn't clean up at all and if it's not cleaned up I get yelled at regardless. I've explained to my dad that my brother doesn't listen to me but he said he expects me to help. And I am. I'm playing the role of mother. I'm the one who has to make my brother do stuff which he doesn't do because he either a)hates me b) doesn't respect me or c) all of the above. Now because I have to play this stupid role I feel like I can't be a good big sister. And I just dont know what to do. |
Question: How can my sister adopt me without my dads permission.? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 09:26 AM PDT My dad has full custody over me and is my legal guardian. But over the years he s become the biggest inconsiderate douchebag. I m 16 living with him in the state of FL. How can my sister adopt me or have guardianship over me? My father will most likely say hell no and go from there but is there a way for her to adopt me and my father have no say in the final decision? Perhaps bring the case to a jury and have it settled by a judge? |
Question: Little sister wearing my underwear !!!!? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 09:24 AM PDT I'm 16 and my little sister is 13. It's happened so far about 3/4 times this year (which I know isn't much but that's only so far and it's happened last year too) where I've found my underwear sitting on my sisters floor or outside it. She doesn't deliberately take them, she thinks they're hers because we both buy pants from hollister but it's really annoying. Mum has tried cutting the labels off hers but a couple of mine also don't have labels because they can be irritating so that doesn't work. When I say to my mum though, quite often she says it isn't a big deal and they can be washed but I'm fed up finding my sisters bodily fluids in them as its disgusting. Surely at age 13 she would be able to know what pants are hers. Also my pants are bigger than hers so you would think she would notice them a bit baggy. But can anyone tell me what to do, and don't say by new ones because I paid for those ones with my own money. |

Question: Birthday gift for my mid-teen sister? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 08:46 AM PDT Hey! So its my sister's birthday on this 26th. She is in her mid teens, n so am I(I'm only a yr n a half younger than her). I need to get her a lovely gift.... I don't have a budget or anything(but that's really cuz i don't have any.... money... but I can ask my parents for whatever I want to gift her...soooo... yeah!) She likes to read a lot of books, Jeffery Archer, Khaled Hosseini.... she does not interest herself on fiction. But lately, she does not get much time to read because she's in high school and has got to learn a lot. I couldn't think of any thing I could buy for her.... so I thought I'll turn to my most trusted resource... Any kind of suggestion would be very, very helpful, I just need a gift idea, but party idea's are most welcome as well.... she would love surprise(for a gift), and we're keeping a party, but that's not a surprise party. |
Question: Is it bad to hate someone you don't like for more than five years since he lives with me? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 08:43 AM PDT so I'm 17 and I have been living in the same house with my stepdad since I was 7 , but the truth is I never really liked him and he gets on my nerves at times. I really don't know what to say to him because I have never had a big conversation with him and I don't have any respect for him. As a kid like 7-10 years old I remember him calling me a fag or saying things that he tried to hurt my feelings, since we had a house phone I remember a few times talking to my bio dad he would always listen to my conversation with my dad thank god for cell phones. But yeah and also when I was a kid he always tried to get my moms attention and pretty much idk. Now I have a half brother who's 6 and I treat him like a full blood brother but the only thing is I don't have the respect for my stepdad, is it me that I'm overreacting since I'm 17 or is it that my stepdad just tried to ruin my life. I know forgiving is the best thing to do but I can't forget. Just advice |
Question: My brother is spoiling my niece? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 08:38 AM PDT My older brother is 23, his daughter is 7. Thankfully, the mother is out of the picture, useless in my opinion. I decided, after she left, to take a bigger role in her life. I see her everyday( I'm 18). She's a loving, sweet little girl. Big problem though, my brother is spoiling her. Not necessarily with buying her new things, but letting her rule the roost. If I say " Madison, it's bedtime."( which I guess my brother gave up on), she'll say " No, Daddy doesn't make me go". " Please clean your room" is met with " But, Daddy doesn't make me." See where this is going?? Now, I don't want to undermine him, but it seems like he's messing up big time letting her do whatever. Do I say something to him? |
Question: What are the effects of a boy growing up with a bad mother figure? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 08:37 AM PDT A mother figure in a split up family who treats him in a questionable manner but tries to put him up? I'm asking about a friend of mine, who seems to have traits of someone with mommy issues. He really loves attention, needs it. He can't approach a girl he likes although he's handsome and popular, he doesn't really know how to respect girls, and he says he needs to be taught how to apologize. |

Question: I saw a sext my mom sent to my dad. It makes me sick. How can I forget it? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 08:16 AM PDT My mom is a university professor. She's been on a research trip for the past two weeks. She's coming back on Sunday. I was in the living room reading a book when my mom texted my dad. My dad wasn't there and I know i shouldn't have looked at his messages, but when I saw it was from mom I wanted to see it. We wern't sure what time she'd be home and I was pretty sure the text was about that. It wasn't. It said 'I'm so horny. We haven't had sex it two weeks!!! When I come I'm going to rip off your clothes and you're going to suck on my p"ssy and make me feel so good!' After I read that I wanted to vomit. I guess it never entered to me that my parents still do it. I know they're married, but they're both really conservative. I never thought they'd talk like that. It bothers me. How can I forget about the text message all together? I'm a 12 year old girl BTW |
Posted: 18 Jun 2015 08:10 AM PDT I need help. Right now, something really scary is happening. so it all started yesterday. Our whole family was watching a movie last night, the new Cinderella to be exact. We were all having a great time. My mom and Dad were enjoying themselves and were kissing many times. I did have to put on subtitles for my mom to understand since she mostly speaks Spanish. I thought it was nice. But today I came back from school, and I hear my mom laughing madly, she kept saying my name over and over, saying that she understood, like she was annoyed. She kept saying that for over Twenty minutes. She would go from laughing to screaming and crying. She s also talking about the movie, saying how the main purpose of the film was "Love" She d keep screaming Love louder and louder. I don t know what s going on, but it s gotten so serious that my father has called a priest, and he came a few minutes ago and is up with my mom. She keeps yelling nonsense, and it s really scaring me. Does anybody have a clue to what might be happening? Please tell me, because I m really scared and worried for my mother at this point. |

Question: How do I stand up to my parents without being disrespectful? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 08:04 AM PDT I feel like my parents are constantly putting me down for the way I dress or making small mistakes (e.g. forgetting to empty the bin in my room or leaving my homework in a pile on the table) I realize that if they ask me to do something and I forget then they should be annoyed but they go way overboard. I'm not very confrontational and I don't like to answer them back but they are putting me down and I haven't felt "at home" in a long time. How can I stand up for myself without seeming like I'm answering back or insulting them? |
Question: Does anyone else find this odd? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 08:01 AM PDT The other day my family and I looked at a house. We removed our shoes (as often required at open houses). I was barefoot as I had worn sandals (not uncommon) and everyone else wore socks. When the realtor showed us the different rooms and asked us questions about what we thought, she often asked me "Oksana, how does that carpet feel?" Or "Oksana, how does that floor feel?" I later asked her why she kept asking me that, and she said that it was because I had bare feet, thus it was easier to feel the carpets/floors than those wearing socks, and said that my opinion on the carpets/floors was especially important. Does anyone else find this odd? |

Posted: 18 Jun 2015 07:46 AM PDT I'm an asian girl engaged to a white guy. I'm also pregant with his baby. We dated three years/lived with each other for two years/engaged for two months before I got pregnant. My fiance and I are very excited. It is sooner than expected, but we wanted to have kids in the near future anyways and he's definetly the man I want to be the father of my children. I'm nervous to tell my parents. They don't approve of my fiance because he's not asian. They want me to pass on the asian heritage/culture/race by marrying asian. I promise they're not racist, but they do not like the idea of not having a pure asian family. I always intended to, but I fell in love with someone else. When I first told them I was dating my fiance they did not like it. I haven't told them I'm living with him or engaged and I certainly haven't told them I'm pregnant. I know I need to tell them for obvious reasons, but I'm nervous. I love my parents, but no matter what I'm going to marry my fiance/father of my child and future kids. How can I help them see he's the best guy for me? How can I help them understand I love him and he'll be a great dad for their grandkids? |
Question: Was I wrong for saying this to my relative? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 07:37 AM PDT My cousin's mom was sleeping over every day at our apartment and it stressed me out . I knew I had to handle this maturely to avoid ruining a relationship. I agreed to him that before we moved in, she can come stay 2 days a week. he said he did not know she was going to be there everyday. He told me to move out then. I can't b/c his dad/my uncle can't afford full rent. I got super angry and a thing that should never be mentioned b/w family came up. I said your mom is throwing her responsibility on my family to take care of our grandma, who we take turns cooking for. I assumed his mom would automatically leave when it came to switching turns but I was never suppose to say this to him. I was suppose to tell my parents to make her take care of her. My cousin then said some bad things to me like oh my mom used to do everything and your mom did nothing.I wanted to avoid a fight like this. It came out because I was mad at him. Do you think this ruined our relationship. I apologized to him 5 minutes after and said sorry .and he was like ok. I later asked him if I ruined our relationship and "he said trust me, no you did not". Would you forgive me? my uncle says my aunt is going to be coming 3 days a week now |

Question: Have I been doing something wrong all these years? Posted: 18 Jun 2015 07:27 AM PDT When I was 7 years old lighting hit a tree next to my house and it fell in my bedroom. It took the fire department 2 hours to get me out from under that tree branch. I spent several days in the hospital recovering from my wounds. Ever since then I have been terrified of lighting and thunder. When I heard thunder, I would go to my much older brother's bedroom and crawl in bed with him where I felt safe and secure. When the thunder stopped, I would go back to my own bed. My brother told me that since I am now developed (what ever that means) I can not get in bed with him anymore. He says we could get in big trouble if I got in bed with him now. He will set up a cot in his bedroom that I can use when I want to from now on. I will do as he wishes as he is the greatest brother any girl could have. Please tell me that what I have been doing all these years was not wrong. The VERY LAST thing I want to do is cause my brother a problem |
