Question: Friend is a totally different person since father's death? Posted: 29 Jun 2015 09:07 PM PDT One of my best friends was 19 when his father passed away last February. In the last four months, he has gone from someone who was always kind to me and went out of his way to never let me down to someone who picks fights at the slightest provocation, uses manipulative techniques to keep my attention, and is generally such an ignorant cuss that my other close friends have encouraged me to distance myself from him for my own emotional well being. About a month ago, he started rapidly making a ton of major life decisions. In the space of a week, he decided to quit his dream job, join the Army, and marry his girlfriend (who he constantly complains about and has been cheating on). He has given his notice at work for mid August and ships out on the 31st of that month. He and his girlfriend set their wedding date for September, which changed to mid August when he found out that he was shipping out at the end of August. The day after the wedding was reset, he decided that they would just go to the courthouse and get married this week or next and just have the public ceremony in August. Anyone who challenges his decision making or tries to talk to him about it is rebuffed strongly. I don't know what to do to help him. |

Question: I don't understand the need for wedding favors.? Posted: 29 Jun 2015 06:56 PM PDT If the point of the wedding is to join people for their vows, and you are getting free food and drink on top of it, why do you need a wedding favor? To think that you need to give someone something for going to your wedding kind of baffles me, especially after you have given them a party at no cost and the whole purpose of even attending should not be to get things in return. So why do we have wedding favors? |
Question: Idea's for a bachelor party.? Posted: 29 Jun 2015 05:22 PM PDT my friend is getting married soon, hes 21. me and the rest of my friends have tried to come up with some bachelor party idea's. one idea that was thrown into the mix was to rent a villa in the dominican republic for the weekend, but i cant afford that. can you guys give me some alternatives or good idea's?. but nothing like oh a party or a strip club. we are trying to do something really unique/ or go on a 3 day vacation. something like mardi gras, or some event that happens in the states mid to late august that is real unique. Thank you. |

Question: Unconventional destination wedding...should guests pay to "see the sights?"? Posted: 29 Jun 2015 01:17 PM PDT We will be paying for the wedding dinner, as well as a (very expensive) outing, that will last all day, the following day. Our "wedding" will only take up the morning. After exchanging vows, there will be a few hours before dinner where we would like to explore the city. Will guests expect their sight seeing to be paid for? Here's the thing...you don't know the details of our wedding. You can't say it's selfish...you don't know our plans. I get so tired of people saying whatever they please on the internet. THERE IS STILL A PERSON BEHIND THESE TYPED WORDS. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK, unless you just enjoy hurting people. In that case...I think you need therapy. Actually, garnet, I thought organizing a day of sight seeing for my immediate family would be the polite thing to do since they are flying to be here, and some are taking off work. We should just get married in the morning, with our very short ceremony, and then tell them to piss off until dinner? Everyone is planning to stay past the 2nd day, to explore on their own, as well. I'm sorry you are shaking your head in disbelief. I am, as well. |
Question: How much money should we save before getting married? Posted: 29 Jun 2015 12:49 PM PDT My boyfriend and I live in Murfreesboro, TN (30 miles south of Nashville) and we are looking to get married in the next two years. He has a state job getting $35,000 a year and I am working on starting a business from the house. I graduate from college in one year (full ride scholarship) so I am also looking for a part time job. We have no debt. The house and vehicles are already paid off. Excluding the cost of the wedding, I was wondering what a comfortable amount would be to save before the wedding. (June 2017 tentatively) Thanks in advance! |
Question: Surprise vow renewal? Posted: 29 Jun 2015 12:28 PM PDT My husband and I have gone through some very trying times this last year.. I am wanting to redo our vows and so is he. I have not set a date yet and he has been upset about that. MY PLAN is to surprise him during a church service with a vow renewal. I am needing opinions on if it is okay to do so? should it be a mutual agreement for the day? even if he wants to do it already? |
Question: Surprise vow renewal at church? Posted: 29 Jun 2015 11:58 AM PDT My husband and I recently have reconciled our marriage and he proposed to me since he never did the first time.. I wear both rings now.. But I want to marry him again! He thinks I do not care about a ceremony as much as he does.. Our anniversary is August 20th. I am curious if it would be okay to do a surprise vow renewal in front of a church. Would that be acceptable if we did a quick ceremony and told people in advance that the service would be longer because we are doing that.. I would want to surprise him by doing it.. have the dress and his suit already at the church so that his friend could tell him to change while i am changing and then tell him that way. is it a bad idea as far as doing it while there is a church service in progress? would they mind??? |

Question: Wedding night, what to wear advice for a Christ following virgin.? Posted: 29 Jun 2015 09:17 AM PDT I m saving myself for marriage and am in a pretty serious relationship and lately have been wondering a few things regarding the honeymoon. (This question is going to be a little.. detailed so beware) So if I want to wear shape wear under my wedding gown to smooth everything out, do I wear that to my wedding night? Shape wear that I have seen isn t really sexy. I thought about changing into something but I kind of have it stuck in my mind that he is going to take me out of my wedding dress like a present, you know? Because we are both waiting that first night is going to be so special. Advice? |
Question: Why does our society feel men are incompetent without marriage? Posted: 29 Jun 2015 09:05 AM PDT An example would be this deeply sexist poster. I used to think that a man is well capable of taking care of himself and achieve success without the need to marry or be with a woman. |

Question: Getting married to same person? Posted: 29 Jun 2015 06:45 AM PDT We want to get married again to celebrate first year. should I simply go to a different county or different state? can we do that or not? Sounds like a felony if we went through it |

Posted: 29 Jun 2015 12:54 AM PDT So I was watching a video on youtube about a man that proposed to his gilfriend. When you propose you get a ring, but when you are at your wedding you get also a ring on your finger. And what's the meaning of the ring on the right hand or the left hand? Is it the same ring or a different ring that you use when you propose en get officially married? HOW DOES IT WORK? |
