| Question: Birthday Surprise Ideas? Posted: 22 Jun 2015 05:02 PM PDT Hello everyone. I was hoping I could get some help. Let me explain the situation. Every year around 15-20 of our closet friends get together for a reunion. We rent a cottage on the lake away from everything and spend the weekend together. This year our reunion happens to land on the one of the days as my best friends birthday. He will be turning 25. I don't want him to feel forgotten so I wanted to throw him a surprise for his birthday. But again the problem is we will be at a cottage in the middle of no where. Does anyone have any good ideas on what I could do for his birthday. I was planning on driving to the nearest town (when i realize where and how far one is) that morning to see if anyplace sells cake. But are there any other good ideas? Thank you for the help. |

And my parents are working and never have time to take me anywhere:/ and I feel very depressed now and all I want to do is eat because there's nothing else to do but then I start to gain a lot of weight:/ (it's happened before) so being bored is really affecting me help what should I do ??? |

Its been 3 years since I went to Six Flags and thanks to their season passes and a great friend, I could finally make my return. On the first ride we went on it was a 4 seat coaster and two girls both 15 asked me and Anderson if we wanted to go together, we both said yes and they were on a field trip from a high school in Massachusetts. Their names are Kaitlin and Rachael. We had a great time together. I bought them slushies, me and Kaitlin shared 1. We got to know each other and after a few hours we met Joe, 1 of their peers. In the haunted house Kaitlin and Rachel got scared and hugged Anderson. When we were swimming Kaitlin had me throw her, she's really light and Joe had me throw him too. In the end I hugged Joe, then Rachael (she asked me to hug her again after I hugged everyone else and I did), and I hugged Kaitlin (everyone hugged goodbye) and we got their phone numbers so we could keep in touch and go to Six Flags together again. But Kaitlin has not replied to any of our texts and Rachel called Anderson and she even said "I love you" to Anderson at the end of the call. Anderson is handsome (I'm not gay) and they both seem to like him but they seem to not even want to be friends with me. Girls always do this to me, they are all over my friend and can't even see me. I slept over there that night with our other friend and everything was going fine until it was around 3:45 and her mom came home from some highschool reunion. She was drunk and yelling, so my friend started telling her to be quiet and stop yelling. The mom took a few minutes, but eventually went to her room. We fell asleep and woke up at 9. Her mom apparently passed out in the driveway, then came back in. My friend told me that this happens frequently, then her mom told her to come outside. My friend didn't want to, but the mom grabbed onto her arm and started pulling her out the door. The friend looked like she was struggling and she kept yelling at her mom "Let go of me right now!" "Stop, you crazy *****!" My other friend and I watched in horror as she was fighting to get back into the house. Her grandma walked over and yelled at the mom. She tugged on the girl and the mom let go. Honestly, I was really shocked and thankfully my mom came a few minutes after. What do I do? We're supposed to hang out at her house again next week and I'm a bit scared of the mom. |

SHe says I scared her, and that she felt I was stalking her... I texted (used to anyway) only when she texted me. Responded to her whenever she chose to contact me in any way... but then I got frustrated and texted "how are we supposed to spend time together?" As soon as I learned she felt I was stalking I stopped contact immediately. Stalking is a crime. It is not how I wanted to make her feel. Far from it. The last text message I sent her was to her AND he grandma, telling her "I am sorry, and apologize. For everything." and have not tried to contact her again. It is tearing me up inside. It has been since last Friday, and I cry every day. I cry myself to sleep, I cry IN my sleep! I cry while I am driving, and while I am working. I feel as if I have lost part of my soul. I don t know what I did wrong. I don t know how to rectify whatever it was that I did. My own mother was worried enough about me that I was escorted by the police to the Crisis Care Center where I live, and was made to talk to one of the counselors. It helped some, but everything I felt that first day has come back with a vengeance. I just want her back, but know I cannot force it. I would even take her back as "just friends" at this point. Even though that gets awkward. It makes me wish I were dead, it hurts so much. The only thing is, I know I won't end myself, no matter how much it hurts, because I promised her I wouldn't hurt myself. I know I need help. THat is why I am posting here. It is also why I am going to be trying to get professional help. But if I don't know what I did wrong, how is any of it going to help??? |

I was a loner and felt like a complete outcast this schoolyear and even fell into a mild depression over it. The only person I had was my boyfriend, and he was the only reason I stayed at that school. Everyone just thinks that I follow him around and he was my only friend ( he was at that school ) I am finally tired of having no girlfriends to rely on which is why I am now hesitant about transferring schools. I have a good friend at another school but I am not sure if I should leave my current school to go with her. So basically, one of my "best friends" "invited" me to her bday party (climbing the O2) I replied like straight away and said yes, I asked her what the details were and she never replied. My mum texted her mum asking what were the details and her mum never replied. I assumed I was going so I got her a really nice/ expensive present (£30) and wrote her a card, the night before the party her mum texts my mum saying sorry we haven t got her a ticket because the texts weren t clear. This didn t happen to anyone else and I ve always felt second best and not appreciated. I'm a freshman girl and I've really noticed how guys pick on each other. Personally I think what they say and do to each other is worse than what the media depicts high school girls to be (ex Mean Girls or White Chicks). Unfortunately, society has told men it's a sign of weakness to express their feelings—while it's much more socially acceptable for women to talk about their feelings. Growing up men are taught and we see that for the most part the guys that everyone looks up to and that are portrayed as heros in movies and books they all tend to keep their emotions to themselves. Men are taught that it is our responsibility to be strong and take care of things. Which resulted in them ending all social media ties with each other. The one that I am closer iwth, shares the same viewpoints that I and our other friends do. But I ve noticed that the other one has been trying to put me on her side and has been making bigger efforts in associating herself with me, more than "girl #1". Girl #2 is a great friend, but what I don t like about her is that she puts herself above everyone. She genuinely acts as if she is too good to use public transportation, and she has even stated it to me (and my family doesn t own a car). Luckily, we aren t going to the same university. How should I cut my ties off with her? I feel terrible because she has great qualities but she looks down on others and even me sometimes (such as making statements that I look 12, when I take a picture), etc. She also isn't keen on listening to problems/concerns. The only person I had was my boyfriend, and he was the only reason I stayed at that school. Everyone just thinks that I follow him around and he was my only friend ( he was at that school ) I am finally tired of having no girlfriends to rely on which is why I am now hesitant about transferring schools. I have a good friend at another school but I am not sure if I should leave my current school to go with her. The only reason I would stay is for my boyfriend but I don't want to spend another year of lonliness. I am a lot closer to him than I am to her, And I have had preffered him in many situations but now I am not sure. So my question is, should I stay at my current school for my boyfriend, but still feel lonely, or should I switch schools to go with my good friend and start new? |

People who don't go on power lunch meetings at the Mariot or drive Audi's. I'm looking for people who loiter around, play video games, and just hang out and talk. That is my economic and social level but I can't find anyone to hang out with. So far I have vague ideas like wandering around the El Toro road area in Lake Forest by the 5 freeway. It seems to be a pretty low income area. My primary language is English so I relate more to those who grew up in modern America but fell through the cracks and don't have much going for them. I'm looking for slackers and scrubs. I don't know if there are any Meet Up groups here for people who don't want to be required to have a certain income. For people who want to hang out wearing hoodies because they can't afford a lifestyle that would prompt them to wear polo shirts. It's the low to no income people I'm looking for. I've thought of going to cheap bars but even they get career level professionals who just talk about work and cars and business and politics. I thought of parks and libraries but they don't seem to go there and maybe it's because it would be awkward with kids there. I thought maybe they're in hidden places like under bridges and other scrubby places. I thought maybe they meet at cheap or free concerts, clubs, and other events. But I don't know which ones. So where do I find them? |

I have been going to this high school since my freshmen year. I'm about to be a junior. And I have no friends. I use to have one friend there but then she got together with one of my ex's and things started to get awkward. She slowly started to cut me off. And later came running back to me crying. After she had sex with him he broke up with her and she had no one to go to. I took her back into my life and helped her the best I could. They got back together about a month Thayer. He had three girlfriends at the same time and has sex with anyone that will take him. She cut me back out of her life since they got back together. School will be starting up again soon. I'm an upcoming junior and I've been in choir since freshman year. I was in beginners choir, which sucked of course, then I skipped a choir and was automatically placed into advanced woman's choir for my sophomore year. I auditioned for the advanced mixed choir, which is my school's top choir, and got in. But I'm not sure if the pros outweigh the cons or not. I can't necessarily list the pros and cons, so i'll explain my issue. I recently had a fall out with my "ex" best friend. We are cordial to each other (there is no arguing or any hostility), It's just the whole situation kind of split my social circle up, and I feel as if a lot of my other friends often blow me off for her. I don't necessarily enjoy being around my other friends in choir anymore, i'm often ignored at times or abandoned by my choir friends so they can hang out with my "ex" best friend or their closer friends. It's difficult to explain. But it honestly makes me feel shitty. Another con is our current choir director is leaving next year. So it will be different. I THINK my gut is telling me to leave choir, but I don't want to miss out on leadership opportunities (something to add on college apps.), memories, and etc. If I did leave choir, I of course plan on joining a chorus outside of school. My mother believes I should quit too, because of this whole "friendship" dilemma i'm in. Please answer, I feel stuck. |

We got along like we usually did, but something happened and now.. they are so MEAN to me. For a long time I have fought back from them bullying me and my online friends, and several times I tried to make something funny to cheer them up and stop this "war" but they somehow find the things I make "offensive" but today... i GAVE UP. I honestly begged for their forgiveness, and they kept on saying they wanted my respect... which I was giving every BIT of respect I could give. Sometimes she would have a dramatic drunken blow up & I would back off to give her time to calm down. She borrowed a lot of money from my husband & I & during our last "cooling off" periods my husband sent her a text letting her know she can start paying us back anytime. While I'm standing in line at DMV I get a nasty text from her stating that she knows I used my husband's phone to text her & she knows I've been telling him lies about her. She's been keeping her mouth shut but that's all over now. When I got home my husband was so livid (with her not me) he had turned off his phone. She sent him 3 pages of text stating I've been lying & keeping secrets from him & that he doesn't know who he really married & she feels sorry for him. I called her but when she answered she couldn't talk & she'll talk to me later. She actually said "Love you, bye!". Crazy! Now I hear rumors that she has been telling people that I was a drug dealer & worse in my past. I've never even smoked marijuana! I want to confront her for the lies & trying to destroy my marriage but if she is going this far on an imagined offense how can I expect her to listen to reason? Would any action be like throwing gasoline on a fire? What should I do now? |

I've had a difficult childhood and experienced a number of unfortunate circumstances: My mother divorced twice, I've attended 9 different schools, and I've experienced a great deal of bullying when I was younger. I feel very uncertain about the future and slightly saddened by it, but I still feel the need to stay optimistic.
