I have recently got engaged and my fiancé and I have been looking to get married on the beach in Virginia Beach. With us living in Ohio, im not exactly sure of many venues there. We are 18. My Mom already knows (she went with us to Houston she loves our relationship, she totally supports us). At the wedding it was only my mom, siblings, best friend, and her boyfriend). I don't care what my side of the family thinks so I'm going to send an invitation to the sand ceremony and leave it at that. However his Mom is pretty important so we cant just do that to her. But she views him as a baby and ignores the fact that we've been living together for the past 5 months. She's very old fashioned and he tried to tell her he wanted to marry me but as soon as he even brought it up she interrupted him by saying he should think about it and all that (btw he's going to the Navy in December). She we hate hiding it from his side of the family and want to know how to tell his Mom we eloped but want her to participate in the Sand ceremony where we are inviting my side and his side.

My older brother whom I am close with is currently in county jail until October when he will be released. He's serving time for his second probation violation. He has been in there for about one month. Due to these unfortunate events, my only big brother is going to miss my wedding on August 22nd. I'm so very heart broken about this & I'm not sure what to do. I can't re-schedule the wedding because it has already been a set date. I technically could re-schedule (since we're having it at my fiancees parent's home) but it would ruin all of our plans for an outdoor wedding. & I've already sent out the invitations. I feel so guilty & it breaks my heart that he won't be there, but this is not the first time he's been in jail & he also suffers from addiction issues. Am I doing the right thing by going on with the wedding anyway?
