Recently life living with my grandmother hasn t been easy with her bickering and complaining, so I plan on moving out soon because it s too much stress on both me on her. I have a part time job that pays 7.75 an hour and I get about 21 hours a week. My typical bi paycheck is about 220 with taxes taken out. I ve been applying and getting interviews for the past 3 weeks now and I hope on getting one so I could keep myself afloat. So, my godmother, who could smoke a carton of cigarettes in 2 weeks, offered to rent a large room to me for 400 (includes a portion of the rent and utilities). It sounds like a good deal, but the smoking part will bother me. I can t even visit her for an hour without smelling like smoke when I leave and I don t want to smell like nicotine when I go to work. I work with kids so that wouldn t look good. So is it worth paying 400 dollars for everything? PS: Before everyone assumes things, I do not live for free at my grandmothers, I do pay bills.

I'm 16 and from the UK. There would literally be only eight of us including myself and we've had parties at other people from the groups houses and thier parents have never complained! I've even offered to have it in the garage so we wouldnt wake them but they still wont let me and dont know why? sure theyll probably be alcohol but there was at all the other parties and they know that! I am extremely envious of my older sister, who is a phenomenal banjo player. She even plays in a local bluegrass band with 3 other girls. I'm a 19-year old boy, and she's 22. She posted: "My son threw a tempertantrum and all my dishes are now broke. These things don't pay for themselves." You do not know how many "WTF" and "What were you thinking" posts appeared on my timeline. But everytime I try to speak for myself on facebook, she barges in and tells me how "bad" I'm acting. I'm literally losing friends because of her. Should I just decide to block her? She acts like this outside of facebook, so I think this would be a good start. Only reason I haven't done so is because I would probably get grounded because of it. What should I do?

I only just remembered about it today. Cuz we was meant to go to Cannes to stay with my dads frenchie cousin sometime this summer. So I asked him if he got flights and when we going. And he said were not going. Cuz he accepted the invitation when him and my mom were gonna get divorced. But now they back together and my mom is pregnant so we can't go. Cuz apparently pregnant women shouldn't fly too late in their pregnancy, especially when they had complications in previous pregnancies. Is he stupid!?!? We can just leave her at home. I am 16 years old, male and my 14 year old cousin, she was spending the night at my house with my little sister. I was in my room all alone and it was around 3 at night. I was sleeping with no blanket because it was very hot and the door was closed. I had no shirt on and i had boxers on. All of a sudden I get woken up by my little cousin holding my penis. My mother died almost 4 months ago and soon I will be going to a family reunion on my father's side. My parents divorced 20 years ago but extended family still ask how she is doing. This will be the first time seeing everyone since she died and I expect questions but I'm not ready to go into details. What can I say to family when they ask about me or her sudden death? I feel like with my large family, I'll be repeating myself over and over. I'm not sure all my distant family is even aware of her passing so I hate that I'll probably have to tell at least one person who doesn't know.

I am 38 and I just moved near my family to start a new job. After some tough times, I am making a really good salary, am looking to get back on the dating scene, and just enjoying a fresh start. Hi I am an extremely selfless person by nature and although it worked well for me because me and my friends were all selfless from our village , but when I moves and made new friends and married and so on i struggle to see whether im right or whether I have very little self worth I General completely lose my love for those whome i selflessly help and they they take advantage of my selfless nature to acheive their competitive goals They usually win Im talking in a family context, for a small example , I made it clear for my younger sister-in-law when she asked me that I don't mind her wearing my show which she liked when she asked me if she can. The second I call "mom", a lot of the time she tells me to leave her alone. She does not enjoy talking to me a lot. Me and my younger sibling were the ones that always washed the dishes, there's only two of us so every other day. We have an older brother that never does the dishes! So we got my mom to put her foot down and make him be in the dish washing rotation too. His day has past 3 times so far and he did not do it. My dad who comes home late at night from work had to do it 2/3 times. We told him not to do it last night so my older brother will do it in the morning. We tell him and he says he won't and never will. My mom's excuse for him before she put her foot down was that he cooks our meals sometimes. Thing is that's only maybe once a week and I cook too! He actually never does anything, I always have to put groceries away and help in the kitchen. His bum self just lay around. Should I publicly shame him? Get everyone to comment on his social medias about the dishes. How do I get him to wash the damn dishes?

So lets recap. My stepdad works at Gamestop. He's never had another job. Thats his comfort zone. I have 4 other siblings, 3 younger, 1 older. So including myself that is 5 kids. My mom is getting a job and is going to her interview right now. Its just down the block. But she shouldn't have to, my stepdad should be getting a job. My mom vented to me crying saying how she feels embarrassed about her weight and how her hair is frizzy and how she doesn't have any new and nice clothes to wear. This hurts me. She also tells me how no one ever says thank you or how proud they are of her. I guess I never realized this. Although I do say it. She's leaving to her interview right now and I want to do a grand gesture for her when she comes back. So I really don't know what to do. My dad can get really angry really fast for no reason. For ex. (this actually happened) I went school shopping earlier and I bought some new t-shirts. I went to throw away some old ones I don't wear so I could use the hangers. When I went into the living room he asked me what I was doing. I told him I was throwing the old ones away to use the hangers. He asked me why I didn't get some out of his closet and I told him that last time I did he yelled at me and I didn't want that again. Then he got out of the chair and screamed at me for being disrespectful and ran in his room and slammed the door. I went back to my room and he came in right after me and threw every hanger in his closet on my floor at my feet and screamed at me saying he didn't deserve this and he hated the disrespect in this house etc. The thing is, he does this every time. There've been a few times where I've been at work or school all day and before I've gotten out of the car he screams at me for not doing the dishes or something. Every couple months he asks what he can change to be better, and we've all told him and he says he'll fix it, but he never does. Sometimes it gets worse. I can't remember him hitting me, but he's thrown stuff at me. And one time he cracked my door frame trying to get into my room even though my door doesn't even have a lock and I had to pay for it and fix it myself. I got yelled at for making him do that to my door too. I don't know what to do.

Okay so I'm 16 and I just want to run away! Forget everyone and just leave, my parents are so hard on me. My husband has a daughter that is almost two. I'm an only child, but I have a a lot of cousins who have kids. Literally every kid I've ever been around loves me. Lol. I love kids. My mom is a nurse and my dad is a structural engineer, so clearly they both always did great in school. But specifically my dad, in MATH. ive had a couple questions on here about my 16 yr old cause he's very much out of control. But this one is about my 13 yr old. He's always been quieter then my other kids & a mamas boy. But since he got into middle school last year he changed. He's starting to act like my 16 yr old which scares me. I thought it was all sort of in my mind cause he seems so happy all the time but his older brother came to me recently & told me that he had asked him for condoms & he was worried because 13 is young. He also said he told him he would have sex no matter what & he & his gf were planning on it. 16 is too but I can't stop him at this point I'm just happy he's using protection. I don't know how to talk to my 13 year old about not having sex. I'm mortified I don't want my child doing this. In scared if I straight out say no it will make him want to more.

So I'm the oldest of 4 kids all boys, I'm 30 and my kid brother (the youngest sibling) is 19. A few weeks ago I saw him take some pills I just thought it was for a headache or something. I've been over my parents a lot lately and I think he's a drug addict I went into his room and under his bed I found a shoe box with over the counter drugs inside. I want to get him help, I told my other brothers (they are 27 and 24) they are on the same page as me but we don't know how to approach my brother and we are worried about telling our parents he's their only kid left at home (the rest of us are married with kids). I don't think I could handle getting my brother into rehab on top of all the other things I have on my plate. My other brothers are also very busy my 24 year old brother just had a kid, my 27 year old brother has 2 kids and one due soon, and I have 4 young kids. It's just hard with so many things. My brothers and I will obviously sacrifice things to get my brother help. It's just my parents aren't very young and with their health issues I'm worried it would be a Lot for them to handle. A long time ago, my mother once told me a story about a woman who claimed my father was her son's father. Naturally, my father denied (it was a VERY heinous claim considering all the details surrounding it, but i'd rather not go into it) and my mother never pressed it. Well, apparently after the child was born the woman said he was not the father but my mother always the baby and I had a particular resemblance although she wasn't clear if it was true or if it was her head making it up. Well through the years I have heard people often confuse me for some other (lighter skinned) person whom they claim looks just like me. Since neither of my parents are really "here" anymore, I was wondering if there was a way I could, idk, go to the hospital and find out if there is any other matching DNA people in their records who could be my sibling. I mean, i really have no idea who this person is or where they could be, i just know at the very least we are in the same area of our city but i have never encountered them but people always say "Wow, there is this guy who looks JUST LIKE YOU except his skin is lighter. I swear i thought it was you but it wasn't."

My parents were never abusive. They were always loving, caring and kind-hearted individuals who spoiled me rotten. But there is one major problem I have: they had me at age 48 and 50--at an age where most people reach their mid-life and aren't far from retirement age. My parents are now 64 and 66 years old and even thought I'm only 15 going on 16, I already plan on running away from home without their knowledge and to cut off all contacts with them permanently, leaving them to their own devices. It all started when I was 13 years old--about 2 or 3 years ago. I always believed that there was a fixed age to where the ability of pregnancy ends (or menopause if you will) at actually age 39. When I found out that my parents were 48 and 50 when they hade me on December 30th, 1999, I got angry, but I never told them why. Instead, I responded by deliberately breaking glass, tearing up their work papers and even setting them and their birthday cakes on fire--right in front of them. One time, my father spent over $1,000 to buy this really pretty ring for my mom and what I did was deliberately toss the ring in a nearby sewer. Unable to deal with the stress, they actually recommended that I see a psychiatrist. What I said I response was that I hope they die of Smallpox. Both my mom and my dad slapped me hard in the face. Needless to say, I enjoy making life a living hell for my parents. Their stress makes me smile. And I mean that. Conceive past 40, and this is the end result.

I have been cutting for the last few months and I still haven't told my family. Now that it's summer it's hard to get away with wearing long sleeved shirts and leggings. Before I tell my parents I want to tell my older sister because she would understand. How do I tell them?

Quick background: A couple years out of HS he reconnected w/ a former girlfriend that I've spent the last 15 years of my life referring to as "Auntie". She already had a child from a bad relationship she got out of prior to them "catching up". FFWD>>> They went on to raise two sons (both my cousins) together. But they never got married (I don't know if it was a mutual choice). A few months ago their relationship ended and now she's refusing to let him be involved with my older cousin's life, as well as my younger one. She's being vindictive and evil and all she's doing is ruining me and my siblings relationships with our cousins & the rest of the family. I know she couldn't deny him parental rights with my youngest cousin because she has no cause but my oldest isn't biologically related to my uncle, AND she's now plans to use the bio-father who "allegedly" never knew about him to begin with to stop my uncle from being a part of his son's life. And I DO say son because he raised him, and "John*" has always called him Dad since he was 1 years old. Does my uncle (and by extension WE his family) have a case for custody? What are his chances? Because I can just see the legal fees piling up. We all plan to help regardless (money-wise) but I want to know what his chances are?? P.S: Please don't give me the Judge Judy "Play house" speech. I AGREE with her, but what's done is done. And marriage isn't for everybody.

I'm 14 a girl and I'm so tired of my family. On the outside people think I have a good life I'm athletic, people say I'm pretty, etc. I have a lot of friends but my family annoys the hell out of me. The step daughter is a loner especially at school and whenever my friends are over its like she literally spies on us. And she's the same age! I just want this whole family to leave me alone and I just want to focus on school, athletics and my friends. What can I do to pass time

I have to take a test soon so i was checking if theres a practice app for it in the app store. Im on my iPod checking when my mom asks me what I'm doing. When ever they see me on electronics she always ask me, but none of my other siblings. It got so annoying i just ignored her. then my dad grabs my iPod from me. I get upset, tell him to give it back, and try grabbing it. He said no. I look at my mom who is just watching and tell her "hello!" pointing to dad. She just sits there. I then say to my dad to give it back, and that he is acting like a bully. My dad ignores me so I said "now u acting like a jerk". Then he says to me to be quite. I say "no, thats not fair!" He then says "Be Quite or I will break it! Want me to break it!?" I said "OMG! Your Really Acting like a jerk!". He then grabs my phone and tries to break it in his hands, he couldn't and tried slamming it against his knee also couldn't. Then he yells at me screaming to go to my room, I just stand there mad so he got up off the sofa and grabbed me by the head and pulled/pushed me into my room and slammed the door behind me. The next day (today) i gave em a bad attitude. When my dad had to go to work he tried to give me a hung and a kiss like nothing happened. Im so mad at them. I can see that my phone is still in the house because when I use find my iPhone it says its here. Is he over reacting? Should I try and find it and take it... or just wait? And if I wait what can I do to get it back as soon as possible?

My wife and I just moved into a new house we bought earlier this spring and my oldest son made friends with a few boys down the road from our house. They invited him over swimming a few times. I met the father and his wife and they seam like a great family, they even grow corn on their land that they sell at a farmers market. Anyways, i stopped by to give my son a lift home since its a ways down the road and when I walked around back to where I hear everyone swimming i found everyone naked, even my son. Nothing seemed sexual.. My initial reaction was to be angry then embarrassed as I had never seen my son in this manner but I quickly realized they were just swimming... It was still really odd to see a grown, naked, man with naked teenage boys running around but he quickly donned a towel, i'm guessing he noticed my uneasiness. I think my son guessed at my reaction too and got dressed quickly, He said farewell to his friends and the father even envied me to come over and barbecue next weekend. My son told me that they are all 'super comfortable' with each other he wasn't forced and that he chose to swim naked and I just sorta left it at that. Was I wrong? I told my wife about it and she had the same reaction as I did. We're kinda at a loss. Should I keep allowing my son over to their house. He's 14 almost fifteen and I know he can make good decisions on his own. I'm just still kinda flabbergasted by everything I saw. Any advice? I still down know how I feel about this

My nephew is 8 year. He is ready getting mad with the greediness. Every time I am in my big sister house watching a show that he don't like. He said, want to see my own show. He have a TV in his play room that same channels of the living room.I tell him you are playing in your table if you want to watch TV go watched in your play room.then he says is my house so I do what ever I want. Before I used to play a lot with him but he greediness is pushing me away from him.he want me to play with him all the time now,when i can't he started to cry and the next day he gets mad at at me for not playing him that he doesn't want to talk to me. On Wednesday I was play games with him .but I went to my big sister's house just to eat spendtimes with my big sister and my nephew say, comes play with me, I told him I don't feels like playing because it was too hot .he got mad started to cry.I told I am not as young as he thinks, I am 19 years and I told him when I can I will play with him but if I can't ,he need to accepted .he only I want me to play with me every day. I think he need a little bother or sister in his life because I am getting tired of being he play toy. What can I so to make my nephew stop being so greedy.please answer this questions as soon as possible.

My daughter has had 2 huge birthday parties. 80+ people. (All family) she's turning 3. I'm thinking a small party. My parents, my grandma, her 2 BFFs aka the neighbor kids. My best friend & my aunt & uncle. I'm only inviting my aunt & uncle & their 2 adult children, because they are the only extend family that go out of their way to be part of my kids lives. They are huge yard sale shoppers & often buy for them. None of my dads other 6 siblings/my cousins do that. (50 people) Also is it ok to skip my husbands side of the family? They are drama filled, can never give me a yes or no answer if they are coming. Haven't seen our kids in 5 months any ways. Small party, fire & s'mores, the few kids hopes up on candy & playing in our play ground. My son will be turning one this year so we will be having a huge birthday party for him. Then all small parties!

coworkers (guys) to celebrate them graduating up to a higher position at work. I believe they may have gone to a strip club. My intended daughter in law called me to tell me. She was concerned about his drinking, and then driving. I am also divorced from his father, who used to do the same thing. So I don't know if I should have his father talk to him. My ex husband was a cop, who was thrown off the force and lost his job, pension, etc. I don't want to see my son follow in his father's footsteps. He made it home around 10:30 pm last night, but his fiancé had to be in work today at 9am. My son is watching the baby, and I'm worried. My sister tells me I worry too much. Do I? (P.S. They live a state away, about 150 miles).

What do I do about my step daughter? I am her step mom. My step daughter has not even turned 16 yet and her mother lets her do whatever she wants, she's allowed to stay at her bfs house after dark and now I find out she has her bellybutton pierced. How am I supposed to expect her to follow my rules if her mom let's her do stuff like this? and I won't let her even drink soda. I've had her for the past week and my friend was visiting with her kid and she would ignore her daughter and get my other kids to join her... the poor kid was in tears, I've tried talking to her about it, I've tried yelling, I've tried punishing her with chores, I took away her phone, I made her join in anything the girl wanted to do and still she went straight back to being disrespectful even after my friend yelled at her for it. I can't seem to get through to her and frankly I don't even want her around my kids. I don't agree with the things her mom let's her do. If she were my kid she wouldn't even have a cell phone much less a body piercing other than the one in each ear. She has no idea how much she effects people around her and she thinks it's funny that I get upset. I don't understand how someone could be so clueless even when people tell her straight like it is with tears in their eyes she just rolls her eyes and gives a dirty look like we are being stupid.Ugh!!! I have never been so disgusted by someone's behavior like this. What can I do?

today morning right after i woke up, my brother's alarm went off for him to wake up. He didn't put it on snooze because it didn't ring again after that. he just stayed in his room for a while until my parents called him down for breakfast. He ate and then went back upstairs (with his laptop and headphones) and took a shower and stayed in there. He's in there right now. I think he may be watching porn or something... :/ What should i do? My parents aren't really taking action. its just that when i just try to have nice internet browsing time right next to my parents, they get pissed and tell me to do work but when my brother does it for hours on end with no surveillance, he doesn't get in trouble. :/ It's annoying as f*ck.

I'm turning 18 in September.... My dad passed away, my mom lives in Brazil and I live in Canada with my older sister (she is 39). But things are getting kinda difficult and it's clear that she doesn't want me here anymore for no reason.... I pay her to stay here, and help her in every way possible .... Anyways ... My question is.... Can I legally move out of her house and live by myself ? My mom is okay about it, my sister is not my legal guardian.... I have no guardian actually. I don't want to move out but I also don't want to bother anyone anymore.... I hate causing trouble

I'm going to be 17 in September, and my mother, younger sister, and I are suppose to move to California sometime in Auguest. We currently live in Ohio. My father has passed away a few years ago so there's no luck with living with him now. I will be a senior this upcoming school year and I was suppose to graduate early. My boyfriend and I had plans of moving in together after graduation as well. He is 19 years old. It's breaking our hearts that I have to move and if anyone could help us or give us a solution, it'd be amazing.

My parents both physically and mentally abuse me, i am 13, and have two siblings. We live cramped in a small apartment (one bedroom) in Brooklyn nyc. Recently i went to the park after schoool without telling them and i forgot to call my mom. because of this my parents are sending me off to bangladesh. A country which has very little academic opportunities. Right now i am a student in one of Brooklyn's best middle schools. Is it right for them to ship me off to bangladesh for just going to the park?

Okay, so I'm the youngest brother who's 19 and my eldest sister is 30. She's probably the most manipulative person I know and everything bad she's done always has to be hidden or dis-missed. She used to abuse her husband before he LEFT (physically at some times) and tells us not to tell anyone her role for that split up. She's abusive to me and my family, along with brainwashing my youngest sister with negative thoughts about the family. I'm at university studying Business, and she always tells me how my degree is nothing because I don't work at the moment which hurts a lot. I'm stilll doing something. Doesn't that count? I'm just sick of her. I want to close ties with her because of her attitude. I'm not being funny, but she's fat, un-married and bitter. She has no kids either, cos no man never wanted to start a family with her because of her attitude and behaviour. I know how much it'll hurt her if I tell her I want to cut ties with her, which is good but I don't know how my mum would feel if I did. What should I do?

my dad punched , kicked me and he threw all of my stuff outside and smashed it . he started laughing and wished I was never born , he called me a useless fuking prick with ******* shitty grades and always leave me behind whenever there we go on a vacation or holiday . I haven't done anything bad but just because I am quiet and I only talk to him once a day , its not my fault because I have a lot of deadlines and stuff to do . all my friends were wondering all the bruises ,cuts , scratches and black eyes . he dared me to speak and my mum is very caring and she tries to heal me or make me feel better but my parents always argue and my two older siblings have moved out . I am from asia but sometimes people call it "discipline" or its part of culture . hope u guys understand.

He is like my brother, but something awkward happened. Last year, he invited me to his daughter's Sweet 16. I accepted, and out of the kindness of my heart, drove him so the commute with the food/beverages will be easier, since he doesn't have a car. The day before the party, I burned a DVD of home movies of us as kids. When I gave it to him at his house, he looked at it and seemed pleased. Since we weren't leaving for awhile, I thought he'd play it right there, since I noticed a DVD player in the room. But he put the DVD away. I wanted to see the look on his face, but then figured he'll watch it on his own time. After the party, he was very appreciative for my help. Weeks later, he called to to ask if I can drive him and his daughter to her grandmother's where she is moving back to. So we put her clothes in my trunk. He even offered to pay all the tolls, but didn't say anything about the gas. So when we pulled into a station, I felt uneasy since I didn't know what his intentions were. But we went half on $20. After the trip, he thanked me, but never said a word about the DVD. Now I feel like that overemotional relative who he's trying to avoid sappy moments. I was very embarrassed. Keep in mind that 1) he smokes marajuana, and 2) the DVD included clips of his cousin who is now incarcerated. Is it possible that either his memory is being clouded, therefore feeling nothing about us? Or did he find it rude that I put his cousin on there who he misses dearly?
