I start to sweat and I have to check to see if there's anyone in my room. I always feel a presence in my room...all the time! If I'm sleeping with someone else like my mom or sister then I'm fine! I just finished my freshman year of college. My parents insisted that I don't have a job and insisted that I come home every weekend. My mom emotionally blackmails me. My dad abuses me when I say j want to get a job and put it in a personal bank account, rather than our joint one. I want to be able to cook my own food, not come home on the weekend, do my own laundry, pay as much as I can for school, and buy my own groceries. I will eventually have to get out of their care, and I want to prepare for that. But they just won't let me go. My dad belittles me. When I wanted to do biomedical engineering, he said that biomedical engineering is not true engineering. When I said that I want to be a tutor, he said that it ois a waste d time and nobody will care. I just cannot handle it anymore. It makes me want to make personal decisions against their will just so that I can hurt then. |

I'm always treated like a child everywhere. I'm also 13 years old. For example, I go to a K-8 school, and we still have assemblies, recess, and have learning programs that that are mostly child-themed (like Dreambox, Typing Agent) I'm also treated like a child by my parents. My parents won't let me have a cell phone or social media, go out outside my own street in the neighbourhood, use the computer unsupervised, check up on me when I'm in a PUBLIC BATHROOM (It's really embarrassing), and are basically overprotective. Also, at the track club I run at, I'm more of a slower runner, so I'm always put with annoying little kids that are the same speed as me. And I'm like, WTAF. I'm ALWAYS treated like a child no matter what. Like, why does EVERYONE feel the need to treat me like a child? WTF is going on!? I don't ACT like a child, so I don't get what the big deal is. Is it some form of subconscious psychic/ESP transmission/wavelength that's making everyone think this way? Like, I WANT to grow up and be mature, and I am always TRYING, but for some reason, life won't allow it, and I'm always pushed back down. She said that they will take away my virginity which is bs in my opinion. I just told her that was a myth and that its my body but she refused. My dad got mad at me because he yelled at me to go get the computer for him, so I yelled at him to get it himself and he smacked me on my head, then he forced me to put the password in the computer as if he couldn't do it himself, when I refused he raised his hand again to hit me so I had to do it. That day I walked out and took a walk instead of arguing or hiding in my room, he's been mad at me for 3 days for that. My teacher tries to put me down me because she always has something rude to say in front of everyone, I try to ignore her but she always says negative irrelevant things about her wage is or her life or other People. I get along with all my other teachers pretty well and have better grades too and the students agree that she hates on me and another boy the most. Some boys have asked me out but I simply do not find them attractive, at all, of course personality counts but I would much rather be their friend. (I have mostly guy friends) BUT IVE NEVER DATED ANYONE AND IM SORRY BUT IM PICKY!! He like to depend on my mom all the time. He only work for 3 month and quit and know he says he looking for a job but never goes to an interview or to work. He is the most disrespectful, lying all the time, man. He think he better then people. But. He actually not because he don't even have a degree for college. And he work 7 days a week. 24 hours a day just to help my mom and his wife and 2 daughters. And he been with me in the good or bad no matter where his. But this one that I'm living with is terrible. Or any shopping for that matter. Me and my brother have both noticed this, if we tell her something is spoiled, she will look at the date on it and put it back in the fridge because "I'll probably use it" (she never does), when we tell her she should go grocery shopping she says "look at ALL the food in the fridge!" knowing damn well all of it is spoiled. She always blames me for wasting food and letting it get expired but when her husband cleans out the fridge, all of the spoiled things are theirs.Ive been cooking my own meals since grade 5 because she didn't get home in time to cook, i usually plan ahead what im cooking so i rarely waste any food. She also does this when it comes to buying shoes or coats for the changing seasons. This would be manageable but instead of just telling us she doesn't want to go, she'll find a reason to pick a fight with me (like my room is dirty, the dishes need cleaning ect.) and blows it way out of proportion and than says "You think i want to go buy food for you when you're being mean to me and not doing x,y,z??" even though i stay calm she manages to make herself the victim so she can get out of doing something and it's so tiring and manipulative. Her husband literally does everything around the house because she guilt trips him into it, even chores that should be done specifically by her because she's our parent. |

Here are the issues at hand. 1. Not happy with my current employment/career and thinking of quitting to pursue a moderate to severe teaching credential so I can have structured time off. I am exhausted working the hours I have now which includes two nights until 7 and two nights to 630. I really need the level of income it provides and more but no time for a second job. A new position with my company will become available in a town 30 minutes north which should provide growth opportunities. 2. My daughter attends nursing school full time and works two days a week which is not enough to cover her living expenses. I agreed to pay the cell phone bills for me, her and my son. We were added to her existing plan. Without telling me, she added her now ex boyfriend sending the bill to $450 per month. She has a car that I cosigned for that she can no longer afford so I told her to turn that in and give up her apartment and move home with her 4 year old son because I cannot afford the car, rent, cell phone and her tuition. She said none of those are options. Today I let her know they are the only options. 3. I attend online college for creative writing but am unable to keep up and do as well as I would like because my current position will not allow me to get my assignments in timely. I feel physically stressed...exhausted and have no idea what to do because my exhaustion will not let me think straight. |

Public transport is easier in my area due to gas prices and parking space. Nothing diffrent from when I lived with my folks and paying my share of the rent and doing chores. I've been on my own for 2 and a half years and my apartment doesn't feel like home. I've tried decorating and having my friends over for get togethers and such. But nothing works and if I don't have to be home and my friends are busy I just wander around until I have to go to bed. My friends who are still living with their folks are jealous of me and I can't help everytime thinking their crazy."You get all this freedom and privacy!" I keep thinking that if they wanted to switch lives be my guest. I'd trade the freedom and privacy to be home again. But I can't unless I could magically turn back time to where I'm the age that its socially acceptable to live with ones parents. I've started hating vists to my parents because I'll have to return to my own place and hope some bad weather would make it unsafe to go back and I could stay in my old room for the night. Everyday I hope something would come up that would allow me to go back home. Everytime someone says how excited they are to be moving out of their parents place all I can ever think is "Why?" and feel remorse for them even though I know there are those who enjoy living on their own. I decided to go to school for mechanical engineering originally but decided to move back home and figure out what I wanna do. 3 years later I have decided to just go back to school and get my MBA, go to school and go on to make 6+ figures as I have a family of business moguls, partners of very well known business companies and my mother is a top earner for an oil field company. I am currently with my boyfriend/fiance and we are expecting a baby. These are the plans I have and he does not want me to go to school and he just wants to make the money while I'm at home all day. I would love to do this, however he only makes at most $400-800/week which will not suffice to take care of myself and our baby. In response to me telling him I'm going to school he says he's gonna go offshore and move in with his family away from me so he can save money....He is angry because he thinks I'm trying to leave him or something, when in reality I'll be taking all my classes online. Posted: 14 Jun 2015 10:48 AM PDT I was wondering this because my dad used to work for the state department during the Clinton administration. He told me he was a diplomat but one time he accidently said he worked in "counter intelligence" or something and he never spoke of his time in the SD again to me. I found an eve's dropping device I think that looked really old and I showed him and he took it and threw it away saying it was just a portable radio. There was also like 3 suitcases that are locked in the back of my attic that my dad always changes to subject when i ask about them I really want to know what my dad did when he was younger but he never tells me. Could it be a possibility that he was some special agent or something cause he's really really private and cautious about mentioning his time in the state department especially now that I'm 16. |

They play sports and even hitting my house with balls sometimes and items. Even if I have confronted them, they just didn't care and would do the same to us. So many times, I wanted to talk to their parents but I afraid that it would cause more bad outcome and further hurting my family and house. What would you do and what should I do? |

Posted: 14 Jun 2015 10:34 AM PDT me and my bf are in long distance relationship....for 4 years almost...for few months he started cursing my mother nd fmily to die and even me...and even when my mom was in hospital when the doctor said few more hours if she didnt comme she would have been dead if any delay...next day afer i told him he said he wishes my mom has brain cancer and die in pains...and he will curse her bad each time I dont do as he says or when we argue...also he will argue and curse me from nothing e.g. yesterday i was travelling and I didnt sleep 48 hrs straight and I fell asleep after 2 days for 20 minutes and he cursed me so bad because I fell asleep and didnt tel him anything?but i fell asleep without realising...also he is going out each day for fun and when he is out he doesnt stay to chat only afk then he will argue me bad and then he will come home after many hours and he doesnt make time for me anylonger..i understand ppl needs to go out too but he is going each day all day and never stays with me..especially yesterdaymy grandpa kept vomitting blood and he was taken to hospital and he might die soon and I told it to him and after few minutes he cursed my grandpa =/ and now when i need him the most he went out and ignred me and then he cursed my mother to die cuz i asked him to stay with him atleast today cuz im depressed...but he cursed my family to DIE all of them he said and even me to die...and he still thinks its MY FAUL.help..we broke up...but I dont know how to move on...it hurts. |

I got home from my first year of college and my grandmother recently passed away. I didnt know it because I was traveling to an Asian country for my pleasure. My uncle decided to tell me when I get back so he wouldnt destroy my vacation. When I got back, I received a lot of blames from my family members for not staying in the hospital with my grandmother. To be honest, her death was unexpected because it was just a minor infection. In my mind, I really want to tell them why not ask my siblings to be there, why does it have to be me? Even my father cheated my uncle, my uncle gave my father those money for the funeral, but instead my father use the money for his own pleasure. So instead, I payed for her funeral. The other problem is about my privacy, my brother is a jerk, he sold my stuff in my room like my videogames and all that so he can buy more drugs. I hate it whenever I walk by him, he kept staring at me with a glare. Even my exgf broke up with me, I had my plans with her for the whole summer. Posted: 14 Jun 2015 10:28 AM PDT im in a ldr for 4 years almost and my bf for few months became verbally abusive and talks very bad and cruel to me and always hurting my feelings so bad...and cursing me and my whole family to die..but then he will be sweet and nice after a day or so...but this happens each day......... he is too much of a family guy and never puts importance to me...he dropped me when i needed him the most cuz of a private situation I had here whih made me depresed he dropped me so he can go out cuz his sister wanted to bike...and he started cursing me...but the thing is...he leaves me all day until night almost each day so he will go out for fun...not only that..but he doesnt talk to me when he will be out only comes to rgue and curse me....his curses are all about my mom dying and calling her bad names....and yesterday i tld him my grandpa was taken to hospital and he might die soon and after few mins i fell asleep due to no sleep 48 hours(20 mins) and when i came back he cursed me and my family and especially grandpa to die =/ today he dropped me again for his family and ignored me and cursed me like he always do for them...his sister message me bad names and bad things she say to me and then they say its my fault =/ but i dont do anything wrong i just want to chat with him sometimes but i cant then they message me BAD saying im so bad bla bla..this is NOT FAIIRRRR ..all of them thinks its my fault but they dont care how he curses my family to die and all f that and even he thinks its me |

However, yesterday she drops a bomb on me: She wants me to pay market value to her for a car we already own and I have to pay for all of my insurance. Sounds fair, right? Well, not exactly. She expects me to pay for all of this, which I really cannot afford right now, and she also expects to not have to drive me places. I have tried to reason with her, saying that I can t afford to drive and she will have to drive me places, but she refuses, saying that since I am 16 it is MY responsibility. I cannot get a job because of sports, and she knows this. She also wants me to drive my brother places, and I find it unreasonable that she wants ME to pay MY MONEY to drive him places. She expects me to pay to take burden off her. What do I do? |

But we have been friends for 5 years and I've only seen his dad twice. Once coming out of the bathroom and once getting into his car. That's the only contact I've had with him. He didn't even look at me! I could understand if they were worried his dad is a perv, but I'm a guy. My parents are being crazy. What are they so scared of? I'm not going to go to his club. I didn't know what his job was until my parents did. |

My mother's boxer died last night. he was 9. I overheard her this morning that she wants a boxer puppy. Her mother is in her 80's, widowed, and has 7 PUGS, the legal limit here is 6 pets, but one is registered to our house. And when a few of her dogs died, she got another pug within a month....... Obviously, these women love dogs. Before we had 5 pets, now we got 4. I am not ready to have another puppy, only because it was too much work for me to take care of 5 pets. My parents are in their late 50's, both overweight, and aching. I realize that having 5 pets is waaay to many, for me at least, and I reaaaaally don't want another pet again, just because of the work. Should I express to her my disapproval with another dog? I graduate next year, so I'll have to take care of this dog for at least a year She also grew up with boxers, adores their personalities our small-ish sized house is also filled with my parents, sister, her husband, their newborn, and I. They're pretty laid back people and usually aren't that busy. They are on welfare because neither of his parents can work. Ok so for years my boyfriends dad gave his daughters boyfriend a ride to work everyday. Even when he was working in another city. He refused to pay them gas money and got angry if they asked him for it. Yet they were still nice enough to do it. I need a part time job but my only ride is out of town at the moment so I don't have a ride to the interview. When my boyfriend asked his parents about giving me just one ride down the street for the interview his mom got angry and said absolutely not. I offered to pay for the gas and extra for the time even though nothing is going on that day. She can't drive because of her eyesight. It's her husband but since she owns the car she tells him what he can and can't use it for. She never seems to care about what he's doing but if it's something to help ME out she throws a fit. It really hurts because I feel picked on. And it's not just about rides. I always get blamed by his mom for anything that goes wrong if I happen to be at the house. Food going missing, if my boyfriend is in a bad mood, anything. I have no idea why. I've always been nice and considerate. I don't eat their food because I bring my own. My boyfriend always stands up for me. |

My mother was agitated because we were already late for the party. My mom, dad, grandma, and I got into the car and waited for my sister who was still getting ready. My sister then tried to defend herself which caused a big argument. My mom then went inside, while my sister waited outside. My mom was screaming in her room that night. I don't have any piercings, not even my ear lobes. But I've wanted my lobes and my cartilage done for quite a while, maybe over a year. I've never asked because my parents are sort of traditional kind of but laid back, I don't know how to explain it - they really trust me, I do well at school, I've never had a detention or missed a homework. I help a lot around the house and care for my mum because she had cancer a few years ago. We have a dog who I look after amazingly. I've been going out without my parents for about four years now, and I go to concerts very regularly. I don't know why, but something like this I just knew my parents would say no. I asked my dad earlier and he said just laughed and said "you must be joking. They are disgusting." I was kind of upset, because I've wanted one for a while and they're not overly expensive and it really doesn't affect my parents. I just said "oh okay" when he answered, and haven't mentioned it since because I know if I go on about it, I will just make it worse. Can anyone help? He mentioned about 4 years ago of having them live with him full time and I was very much against it. I offered every other week and every two weeks but it was all or nothing for him and when I refused he dropped it and here he is bringing it up again to my son without even discussing it with me. Again. I'm sick to my stomach at the thought of them living with him. And I do not believe they'll get better grades just because he is home to yell at them to do their homework. They have to learn to be held accountable. How many parents are actually home when their kids get home from school? |

Posted: 14 Jun 2015 08:35 AM PDT We're both only fourteen and females, and we both have a history of mental health issues, and we've always been eachothers support system, I guess, but last night she was feeling really bad (I don't know over what. She doesn't want to talk about it and I don't want to push her into it) so she walked over to her brother's house (he's an adult with a wife and kids) and he gave her alcohol. Yes. Her brother, who is supposed to be a responsible adult, gave her vodka! We live in the U.S., and it's illegal to drink under the age of 21, as well as providing someone under the age of 21 with alcohol. She has a really bad hangover right now and doesn't want company, so going over there is out. I'm currently working on convincing her to go do something with me tomorrow if she feels up to it and isn't grounded by then. According to her, her father doesn't know but her mother does and she won't tell me what her mom's reaction was to it. I really want to find a way to help her and get her to open up. I'm no psychiatrist or professional or whatever, but I know enough to know that drinking to solve an emotional problem is one of the worst possible things to do. I really didn't want to ask my parents this because I'm worried that if they find out they'll think she's turning into a bad influence and won't want me to talk to her or hang out with her. Please, help me. |
