Posted: 15 Jun 2015 01:08 PM PDT I go to college and I'm 19 and I got a summer job while I'm out of college and my parents pay for my college mostly while I have a lil bit of money from grants and lil bit money that I earned for my GPA out of high school. I cant get a job during the year because I play football(I transferred which is why I'm not on scholarship any more, my football scholarship was at a small college and it's cheaper to go to my current college now than be on scholarship at my last school...yea I know right) but anywaysy parents say it's my money do what I want but I feel kinda bad because I want to build a new pc that i can use for college and gaming to save money so I want have a buy an Xbox one and all that and I can have a multi purpose pc. I feel bad because the parts come to about $400 and I feel like that it could go better someone else considering I have a computer already, but it's just 5 years old going on the 6 years old. What should I do? |

Right after, I asked her for extra pads because I was about to run out. She continued talking to me normally, I mean, she's seen me change my pad in my room before. And she does similar things where she powders her underwear that she has on in her room instead of the bathroom. I thought she believed me but i'm not sure. what are the common signs that a parent caught and noticed that you were doing that? some people say that they might just quickly say sorry and shut the door, and not talk to you for a few days. others say that they will stay in the room and pretend they didn't see. others say that they will have "the talk" with you afterwards and blah blah. my mom didn't do any of these things, which is why i'm confused about what she knows and also, she is really open when it comes to talking about these kinds of stuff with me. so it wouldn't really be like her to ignore this kind of stuff. |

Three dogs, and the pool to go with all. I make good money at my job. My wife has a better job and makes even more money than I (which I find cool). My issue is I feel like a prisoner, I feel trapped. The only time I feel truly free is when I'm riding one of my dirt bikes tairing stuff up in the dirt. I don't ride my street(not sure why), but don't. I don't drug or drink. I'm not AA or NA I just have other stuff to do first. Does anyone else feel/think like this? I can't be the only one. |

When she was 16 she would send guys she met online pictures of her in her underwear and naked. Then when she was 18 she did the same thing but not more explicit not just her boobs now her vagina, and the inside of it etc. Then she got a boyfriend when she was 17 and he was 25 then they dated for a year and a half but she would still be talking to other guys and sending them pictures now this time for money. He then found out about it but she told me she was trying to "protect" herself. I always found out the wrong things she does. I found out when she was 16 then 18 now 20, I end up finding out unintentionally sometimes I do go look through her stuff since I know she's like this now. Then recently she got a new computer and the computer comes with a good video editing program since I do youtube videos then I saw that in her history she was looking to have sex for money, become a webcam model, a pornstar, finding a sugar daddy,and she has been sending pictures and videos for money. My mom and dad would sometimes yell at me for annoying him, but most of the time, I'm trying to get him off his bullcrap problems about 'going crazy'. I have been driven to depression as nobody listens to me. The only help I have before I turned to suicide was friends. I went online and I made some good friends Id talk to. But my mom would go crazy about banning my computer time because all she thinks I do is play games all day. But the truth is, I play games with friends online. I still like games, just it's no fun without anyone. My mom thinks she knows me and doesn't believe me just because she gave birth to me. She even thinks about banning my computer time because I'm talking to strangers, nevertheless I am 14 years old. I get pissed off at this and I would get a bit pissed off if I am mad at family problems and we stay out too long without going home and no source of text message or anything. My relationship with them is not the way I would prefer it. We have basically no relationship and only talk about twice a year when my husband and I go home to visit. I've honestly been very bothered by the fact that his mom acts like she is obsessed with my husbands brothers girlfriend/mother of his child when she recently started dating the brother and got pregnant only a few months after his family met her but yet they've known me for nearly 10 years and have not tried to form any sort of relationship with me. During the Christmas holidays I expressed to my MIL and SIL issues that I had with trying to conceive and I really thought we bonded and would have some sort of a relationship after that but I never heard from them again until 5 months later when they came to visit. I honestly was expecting a text saying congrats at the very least or a phone call to ask how I'm doing considering the fact that I'm carrying their future grandchild, neice, or nephew but I have heard NOTHING from them. I can see this being an issue in the near future because I will not let my child go alone with people that I don't even feel comfortable around myself. So I was really hoping that they would reach out more or just seem interested in general. What would you do to handle this? |

She is constantly misbehaving and getting in legal trouble, (sets fires, threats suicide) and about 2 months ago, she ran out of the house at night after a big fight, so my dad called the cops. They saw a bunch of cuts on her and she said my dad gets drunk and beats her (he doesn't drink, and he has NEVER hit her) so they took her to a mental hospital for the night. Turns out insurance doesn't cover that, so fir her fake mental epusode (she pretends to act like something is wrong with her so she won't get yelled at for breaking curfew) we have thousands in bills. My dad already is struggling, and last night she did another episode, asking to go to the hospital because she sent a fake suicide message to her friend, who called 911. So now we're horribly broke. My guitar lessons are cancelled. We literally have NO food for the week. I'm embarassed to bring friends over because of it. No gas to go places Not even money I can use to get ice cream at the shop. Parents are in a bad mood constanty. My parents are divorced, but equal custody. My mom always had enough money for stuff, but not anymore since she got the first psychiatrist and antidepressants bill for about 500, for only a month. My sister doesn't even try to embrace the meds and therapist. She hits me constantly, and tells my secrets. I have nothing good in my life anymore. My phone is probably going to get shut off too, my das says. I have always been good. Why am I punished for her mistakes? |

She is very very overweight and this past year my mother let her be home schooled, which made it even worse. Now she stays in her room all day and we barely ever talk. I can go weeks without talking to her because she just stays up most of the night and sleeps most of the day, until about 5. She does the same thing every day and only really leaves her room to go to the bathroom and occasionally go somewhere with my mom. I try taking her to do things and get out of the house but the majority of the time she won t go because she is so self conscious. She won t even go to the gym with me anymore which would do her so much good. I ve found notes she s written about wanting to be back to how she was before. I want to help her but I don t know where to start. She needs to lose weight and possibly be treated by a therapist but my mom gets mad wen I bring up the topic. Any help is appreciated. In dream I am staying with Sheriff Rick. However Rick won't let me be his second leader but as being 3rd. Only time Rick let me be his second leader is if his second leader aren't around when Rick need him. Myself and Rick's second leader are different personality and different way to handle the group than I do. Whenever Rick gave me a assignment to do travel with group. I always get more than what I need and success better than what his second leader do. But I always lost few men everytime I get back to Rick. She has severe mood swings that are sometimes unbearable because it's causing her to be unreliable. Whenever she does something wrong she gets depressed and wants to talk about it for hours and hours. I told her she needs to get some professional help but she refuses to do it. Whenever I try to be honest with her about her condition and her behavior she gets super emotional and defensive and I'm at my wits end. I can't be her emotional dumping ground anymore. And I got really scared and kind of angry, and my mom had come in due to all the noise and asked what was going on. I showed my dad the middle finger, I don't know why, maybe because I was really upset or something, and because of that he walked up to me held my wrist tightly and hit me extremely hard on the head, it's still hurting. I don't know if I deserved that or what, I probably did. My mom got really shocked and got up pretty surprised and then my dad started pushing my mom really hard to get her out of the room and started swearing at her, and when she was outside he locked the door and started yelling at me again. I don't know if this is abuse or whatever, and I don't know if I deserved it but I feel pretty bad right now and my head hurts a lot. |

He cheated on her years ago, he has out his hands on my mom and me. Yet my mom never kicked him out or divorced. Now I'm 19 and I would give him my paper for college for payment plans and he was always late giving me the card then would blame me and tell me I never gave him a notice or told him when I did. Now my classes aren't payed and I'm dropped out of college. He doesnt work all he does is stay in the house. He drinks beer every night . Ifeel like he ruined my life. I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder by a doc when I was 16 and I feel like he was one of the causes for it. I truly hate him. I am struggling to find a job and I feel hopeless and trapped in this house. It's a long story but I truly feel he wants everyone in this house to believe we can't live without him. I got my drivers license and he didn't even congratulate me or let me drive or pick my mom up from work because he was always the driver in the house no one else had a license but me. One day I had to travel to take an exam for nursing college and had to drop off papers before the building closed and he refused to let me drive to take the important exam and refused to give me money for transportation and my mom was just in the background agreeing with him. In the divorce papers, they both signed that my mother would keep their old home (which is under my mother's name). And my father would keep the current home where me and my siblings still live in with our father, (which is under my father's name). The divorce was settled last year. They have been divorced for over 1.5 years. The problem is, my mother still has all her stuff in the house. Most of her mail comes to the house. She comes over maybe every 2-3 days, but only for a few hours and doesn't do much at home. She comes to get her mail and leave. Maybe once a month she does a few groceries. Most of the time when she comes over...she likes to argue a lot with my father and we would all prefer that she not come anymore or at least just come by to pick up my younger siblings to take them out when she can. She argues that this is still her house since she helped pay part of it in the beginning. Even though she let it go in the divorce. What is the purpose of her keeping her things in the house and her mail coming too? We are sure she lives elsewhere, since she doesn't sleep in the current house. She also pays NONE of the house bills. Is this to prove to the court maybe that she is still around helping? She pays no child support either. When we tell her of this, she says she doesn't have to (even though its in the divorce papers), nor she has to leave, because it is her house too and that we can't kick her out of her own home... |

Mom keeps buying him new games and things but he does not take care of them, He brakes them and expects mom to buy more and when she tells him she cannot be spending all that money on video games and that she has to us the money to pay bills, He will start kicking and throwing things and screaming so loud the nabors hear him. I feel so obligated to do everything because she is my mom and she has done a lot for me. However, I am in my mid 20s and I have a life too. When I have said no to her in the past she has gotten so angry with me that she won't talk to me for days. I am at a point where I am sick of living for others and I am ready to do my own thing (whether I live in the same city or not). I'd really just like to know if my feelings are justified. Dont get me wrong, she is an awesome person and I am not trying to make her seem like a crazy mad woman, but am I wrong to stand up and say "No" to her? How can I handle this with the least amount of tension as possible? I have been dealing with some of my own personal issues during all of this mess so I'd really appreciate some understanding and honest answers. Thank you. |

I love my grandma, but she is already driving me mad. She will call me atleast 8 times a day & when I answer, I have to spend 20+ minutes each call or she will be offended. She will ask for me to take the kids almost daily. If I have missed answering she will be bitter & tell me that I will one day be in her position of feeling lonely. If I don't answer her calls all day I've found that she will walk to our house & start knocking & peeking through all the windows. I have my voicemail full constantly from all her calls, my husband cant relax constantly thinking she is coming over unannounced.. I love her to pieces & don't know what to do. She recently got CPS called on her for her two children she has. My son's maternal grandmother called me asking me for help because she doesn't know what to do since her daughter does not take care of her kids so for the last 2 months, I have been picking up my son from daycare after work and keeping him overnight. On his mother's weekends as well. MY SON'S MOTHER HAS NO IDEA. She relies on her mother to pick up my son (and her two children) and my son stays with the grandma every day and his mother (who lives next door) does not bother to even text her mother to ask if she has the kids, if she picked them up, go over to see them, nothing. He is 8. He has also been asking my girlfriend of 4 years if he can call her "mommy" because he has a mom that doesn't want to take care of him and she only drinks and goes with her friends. It's really heartbreaking. She has also left him alone at home. I took his mom to court 2 yrs ago. They gave me a bit more time but she lied her way through and nothing really changed. Now, her mom is asking me to go back and that she will back me up saying she has the kids 24/7 and her daughter does not take care of them. I was planning on waiting until my son can decide but with all this, and her mom, do I have a better chance? I spent 14k last time and nothing really changed. That is why I am reluctant. Not that he is not worth it, he really is. The legal system is just so skewed towards the mother. I just wanted to see if maternal grandma on my side would help me. I dont want to keep throwing money at it if I didn't have a solid case which I know I do but last time I did too and, the social worker literally told me she was on my side then her final report said I shouldn't have full custody because I work 6-5 4 days a week and she works part time. She works part time sure, BUT NEVER HAS HIM. |

And after he passed, our family started struggling financially. We'd had lived in this one apartment for like 10 years, and just last August got evicted because my grandma moved in, and we all just fell behind in rent. I know my mom is stressed. Now we're living in a hotel, which is stressful considering there is all 6 of us in 1 room with 5 pets. My grandma is in jail now also. And her boyfriend (my stepdad, who has been with my mom for 13 years) is an asshole. I think she tries to convince herself that she's in love with him. He sometimes hits her. And I know my mom is depressed because she keeps on saying things like "I wish I didn't have to worry about anything anymore" or somethings more straight out like "I hate my life". It's been really bad lately, and I NEED her, and i'm really worried, someone please tell me how I can make things better. |

We've gone there every summer since I was a baby so I've never spent a summer at home. The problem is that I hate it there. I don't have any friends there so I'm on my own for the whole summer. My parents and my sister love it so I feel really bad asking to go home. My mam goes home once a week for a few hours to do the washing and I go with her but only seeing my Friends for 2-3 hours a week is really hard, especially because I'm an extrovert so my life orientates around people. And what makes it even worse is that there's no wifi there so I have no way of contacting my friends. I've had a few friends there but it's not the same as just being at home with them. I'm not old enough to stay at home alone while they're there so I have to go. I have talked to my parents in the past but I don't think they understand how hard it is for me. |

He turns 14 in a couple months, but is already a foot taller than me and has a small mustache. He is usually screaming every time he talks. You never know when he's going to say something nice or rude. You don't know if he's going to open the door for you or push you against the wall and punch you. He's unpredictable, violent, and a complete jerk. He can't enunciate properly when he talks even though he's a teenager. He pronounces his l's as w's. For example: I'm home alone. He would say "I'm home awone." My parents took him to a psychiatrist once and he refuses to take his meds or ever go back. They diagnosed him with Aspergers. He won't take his meds and gets violent when we mention the doctor. We can't commit him because the only mental hospital near us has horrible reviews and my parents are afraid to send him there. The local police and paramedics won't help us and said they don't want to get involved with him. So as a family we feel stuck. Everyone has to do what he wants or he hurts us. What should I do to cope and what can we do to transport him to the doctor? He gets violent when we try to take him to appointments. Moving out is not an option for me right now and I probably won't be able to until next year, which my parents are fine with. But I need to know how to deal with him. |

I feel like everything in my family is so unwell and manipulative. I have PTSD because of it. I moved away and am doing well. I just found out that my parent (who has had cancer for 10 years) now has stage 4. But it could still go one for 5 or so more years. Last time the cancer relapsed I gave up my life and moved back and am just now back to normal. I had to be homeless and had zero help from my fairly wealthy parent to get back on track and finish school. Now it is happening again. I am falling apart - because I love my life and don't ever want to see my parent again. Even now. And I also don't want to be unethical. But last time we talked he said he hated me and never wanted see me again and that was three years ago and truthfully I feel done. The other thing is that I may be inheriting a large sum of money. But I actually would forfeit it just to keep my life happy and in balance even though an inheritance would change my life so much. I don't even care. Advice on what to do??!!! I haven't slept in days :( And it is not that I don't love my parent. It is that I can't afford to get hurt again. And this is hurting too much already. |

She had gotten caught snooping in my room by me, and she told me that she was looking for towels. But the towels were by the door not the dresser. And she has stolen a couple articles of clothing from my me and my sis. And I don't understand how she can fit them. But what I am really worried about is my sister and I are going on a week vacation with my grandma. And I don't want her snooping. I am more worried about her finding my love letters from my boyfriend,my diary, maybe thongs. Other than that I honestly have nothing to hide. I just don't want anything taken. I sprayed perfume to get the smell out. She said she found ashes in the garage and burn marks. There's no way she found burn marks. My friend used an ash tray. But maybe ashes because those fall pretty much anywhere. She accused me of smoking and I wasn't supposed to have my friend over so idk what to do. How do I convince her I wasn't smoking?? His is also the greatest boss ever. He spends a lot of time training me. I brought a picture to work and put it on my desk. My boss ask me who it was. I told him it was my mother. He said "I see where you get your good looks". "Your mother is gorgeous". " She does not look old enough to have a daughter your age". Should I tell my mother what my boss said. | Question: Selective hearing towards family? Posted: 15 Jun 2015 06:56 AM PDT I'm just trying to figure it out. My dad is family motivated. Everything he does in term of work is for us. Anyways, he seems to have selective hearing that filters us out. I recommended an improvement to one of our businesses, he ignored it.....I repeated it several times. (The way it actually worked out was we spent less than $1,000, a one time cost, and it reduced our expenses by 50,000 annually....not a typo.....really happened). Finally, I paid someone to go recommend my idea to my dad, some average joe, I assumed a meth addict....he told me the next day that this guy gave him a brilliant idea and he acted on it....zero recollection I ever suggested it. This has happened multiple times. Or he'll ask me question and I will respond and he will say, "what. I don't understand what you are saying."..has nothing to do with the way I'm explaining something or how loud I'm speaking. A family member will repeat what I said word for word and same response. Then anyone not in my family will repeat what I said, word for word and he'll suddenly be able to hear it and understand it. We live in the same house, but I literally talk to him for less than a minute once a month. I can't deal with it anymore. Him and my mom had a screaming match yhe other day because he asked to see some financial info...she was giving him the print outs while verbally giving him the info and he was getting mad that she wouldn't give him the information. |

Just recently I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder and I feel as if she's contributed to my depression and low self-esteem. I know you guys don't know her, but I'll just give some examples. One time when I was younger, I saw someone I knew in a store and said hi. They didn't say anything back and she told me people just weren't happy to see me. So ever since then, whenever I see someone I know somewhere, I pretend I don't see them and wait for them to say something. Then one time my cousin stayed with us for about a year and she was talking with a neighbor about her. She told the lady she'd trade me for my cousin because of how smart she was and there were no words to describe how hurt I was. She also used to call me "big", but my doctor said if anything I was underweight. She doesn't work. My dad is the one who makes all the money. I feel like if I were just living with her I'd have nothing. She's always talking about that saying "misery loves company" and I feel like she's talking about herself. Last night she was reading to me a book that's supposed to be encouraging and I know if she didn't love me she probably wouldn't do that? lol I'm just very confused. |
