Basically so that I am able to make relationships if I wanted to, or maintain them when wanted, but just enough that if I wanted to, I could easily destroy. (Sounds mean of me, but I really need to know how to.) And every Internet source I've looked at for answers are all about getting over ex-lovers, or something like that which I don't really need to know. So please? Thanks! |

I'm really nice to her and I give her rides (she doesn't have a car) But yesterday she randomly told me a guy I was friends with thought I was extremely ugly but "don't worry my friend has your body type and she just got married so there's hope" Wtf I wasn't worried about it, I'm talk and thin and guys like me so I'm chilling. Then today she randomly out of nowhere texted me "I'll take that as a no......." And I responded with "what? Lol" And she responded with "Zumba + Abs" I guess I was supposed to do a class with her today but she never texted me to remind me or ask if I was going? She just acted like I'm a ***** who ditched her? Lol k told her I'm sorry I just woke up and did not receive any other texts today if she had sent them. So any idea why she is acting super weird now? | Question: Why do I always feel the need to "One-Up" people? Posted: 12 Jun 2015 04:54 PM PDT Not random strangers on the streets, but my close friends and family members. For example, If one of my friends is dating somebody and I'm single, I avoid that friend whenever she's with her bf and I pretend to be extremely happy to the fact that I'm single. Or whenever I'm around girls and other guys are around, I tend to want to steal the show by wearing the best fancy-looking outfit, but I reject the guys and give them the "I don't care about you and I'm too good for you" attitude. It's pathetic, oh and whenever one of my friends get's complimented on a specific body part, I usually flaunt my 'sexy body parts' the next day, except I do it in a better outfit. I'm sorry for the rant, but another example is that whenever my friends throw a party and if I don't go, I usually tell them that I have a more spectacular event to be at and that I'm 'too busy perfecting myself'?? It's pathetic, but I do it. If somebody makes the smallest comment about me, I take it to another ridiculous level and I usually do this 'Princess-Divalicious Hair flip' and it usually comes with me ignoring them and rolling my eyes at them! I am going crazy. Why do I do this? Does it come from insecurity? Because it's getting to the point where I drop the people close to me because of 'similar' problems, I just drop them from my life and I have nobody at this point. |

Posted: 12 Jun 2015 04:28 PM PDT My mate is a real knob around my girlfriend when he's with my mates (his mates also) and can be quite rude and make sarcastic remarks about my girlfriend to her face and behind and take the piss out of her, i hate it when he does it because i obviously love and care for my girlfriend but when it's your best friend doing it, it makes it worse, i do say to him 'alright thats enough now, leave it' respectfully when he get's too annoying but i was getting so angry one time that i was about to punch him i was that pissed off, we have been best mates now for around 5 years and have had some real good times, we've literally just left school and spent every day with each over (and our other mates who we're close too as well). I've sort of backed away talking to him for the past week as it happened again at McDonalds the week before and he was being rude again to her. I was dissapointed to be quite honest and expected better from a 'best mate'. Is it right that i give him one last chance? because in my mind 'mates' don't do that. My bf told me once that people maked comments on him being biracial since he was a kid and he is use to it. He said that people always make comments about his mixture growing up... Ghetto people... He didn't come out and directly say it made him uncomfortable, but he hinted to it and you can see it. I honestly hate his "friend". I don't think my boyfriend understands what a real friend is, because if your friend is disrespecting you like that, he is obviously not a real friend. Last year, grade 6, these boys in my class thought I failed a grade and which I didnt and started to tease me about it. Back then I was loud, funny, and was down to do anything without being afraid. I realized it was just my humor that brought attention to me, and that was how I made so much friends. The people that I mostly hang out with aren't like them and I don't like hanging out with them because they're loud and they talk back to their teachers, they get bad grades, and act like they have no sense but not all of them but most of them. And we all seem to go on different paths they re changing and so am i. I still think they re great but i don t seem to have that much in common anymore with them. For example i play games like borderlands and skyrim, i watch a lot of different series, movies. Just everything i m passionate about is not something they re passionate about. And i m horrible at making friends since i m rather introvert and shy and awkward and stuff which made me not able to make friends on my own for the past 4 years because all the friends i make are people introduced to me by friends i already have. So it s kinda forced friendship since half of my friendgroup is only around me because they re around them.And i can t even talk to anyone when i m super exited about something because they don t understand. And finally just get annoyed because i feel the urge to talk about it every single day. And they started gossiping about other peoples relationships and other teenage girl issues which i couldn t care less about . Is it ok to go and should I feel bad if I do? I know that if I don t go we will just stay home and have "family" time where we do nothing but is it wrong to go? |

Posted: 12 Jun 2015 01:03 PM PDT In Elementary School all the kids talk to each other and are nice and invite each others to parties and get involved in classes etc. And in High that whole spectrum changes, people only talk to certain people, and dont invite people to parties or get involved in class all that much. But then after meeting them, I'll walk off and hang out in another part of the venue I am in. I was nice to them when I met them so why don't they pursue me as a friend? Posted: 12 Jun 2015 12:39 PM PDT I don t know what s wrong with me but people don t want to hang out with me and they just come up with lame excuses yet they have a lot of fun when I m around and they think I m funny too. And I don t know how but when they re around and we re having fun I just forget how mean they are and then they just backstab me and leave me in the dirt for other people. And girls don t even bother considering talking to me, they don t look at me, not even a single glance, the only time when they talk to me is when they need to talk to me for something school-related. I don t know why they behave like this to me and I don t understand why people like me one second and the other 59 they dislike and ignore me. Like this once I showed some card tricks to a girl and she was quite impressed and she thought I was really good, as a magician. Then the day after that she acted like it never happened and she never talked to me then. And I can t even imagine that a girl would have interest in me, every time I see a pretty girl I think for myself "Wow, she looks nice. Well, forget it" and I don t know why and I just feel so lost and now I m going to start my 9th and final grade (in Sweden it s 9 grades) and the people in my class are just those kind of people like I described. Except that the girls aren t pretty. I don t know why I m so messed up and I feel so hopeless and like a no one. A ghost. Like I m worthless and I don t know what to do :( |

Like I would ask my friend if he would wanna hangout and he would say he has to work, and he'll say he will text me about it later but he never does. Or they'll just say "idk yet maybe" and not text back about it until I do. What do you guys think? |

When we were friends she would have problems and I would help her but it turned into a regular thing and she just became needy and I didn't want all of her negativity in my life. Once I stopped talking to her she started talking to my bestfriend and she talks about her behind her back. Everytime I tell her she doesn't believe me. She tells my bestfriend stories so she'll feel bad for her and now everytime I say something about Morgan my bestfriend defense her. It makes me look like the bad guy and now I think she likes her more than she likes me. What should I do? |

We're both single but we both came out of rocky relationships and want time to ourselves. I thought it'd be cool to just be friends. But the past couple of weeks he's been awkward, sometimes he ignores my phone calls or texts and he only messages me back when he feels like it. Since we're not dating and we're just "friends" I didn't say anything. But now he's doing it again.. should I just forget about him? I really enjoyed being around him and had lots of fun and I would love to just be friends. But why is he being so weird? Should I call him out on it and ask him if we're just going to be friends or just forget about him and delete him and never speak to him again? |

He was arrested when he was only 17 and I have not observed a pattern of criminal behavior during my time as his friend. He's made a surrogate family with his girlfriend and works hard. However, he recently resumed his marijuana habit. Although I have never been a recreational drug user and have remained militantly anti-drug in the orbit of MY personal life over his objections, I have kept an open mind and hung out with him while he smokes. As long as he's with me, I know he's not in jail. I have become convinced, however, that he's prepared to let his drug habit pull everyone else down. I recently took him to a "friend's" apartment where, unbeknownst to myself, he purchased marijuana. It is only later that I realize I chauffeured him to an illegal drug transaction at the center of a high-intensity drug trafficking area (it's near a college campus) swarming with city police. He has recently asked me several times to drive him to his dealer, to which I respond with a polite but firm "No." This seems to frustrate him and he jokingly calls me a "vagina." (It's difficult to match wits with a pothead.) I'm under no obligation to support his habit and I worry that this is part of a larger trend towards using his friends. What should I do? |

I eventually asked if she wanted to go meet up for some coffee and she was like "yeah id love to ." . well the time that she wanted to hang out didnt work for me so said some other time. I had to go away for a week , and asked again when i came back and she said "yeah of course" . then she ended up not able to make plans. she kept postponing it- like she never actually was gonna meet up. but kept being like "of course :)" - like wtf. She is a 4/10 with looks anyways. does this mean that I am a 3/10 or lower? |

Posted: 12 Jun 2015 11:52 AM PDT We have been best friends for years, but then I moved away for a while. When I came back, my partner and I moved in with my her and her partner. Since we started to live together though, it's like we aren't really friends anymore. I hardly see her becasue she works a lot, and when she is at home I feel like she is upset with me because me and my boyfriend aren't doing enough around the house or something. I am constantly worrying that I might have left a mess somewhere that she will be angry about. I don't think she really likes my partner much either. I want to move out, but I am worried about whether she and her partner will be offended if we move out, since they bought furniture for our room, and are probably expecting us to stay for a couple more months. Also, it would be economically better for us to stay here. Does anyone have any tips for how to deal with this kind of situation? Thanks for reading all this. |

They were planning to go swimming at someone's house, but they didn't invite me. It's not the "not inviting" part that gets me, it was the fact I was standing right next to them while they were making the plans, and they knew it too. It really hurt my feelings that they don't see me as a friend outside of school. |

| Posted: 12 Jun 2015 11:26 AM PDT I've had two good friends, one of them got a girlfriend, which lasted some time, until person 1 (let's call him that) found out that person 2 had been cheating with his girlfriend a couple of times. Apparently person 1's girlfriend was tired of not having sex (that's all I know at least), even though it was only in 8'th grade. Now some time after the occurence, they actually became great friends again. And suddenly person 1 started hating person 2 again. Now a lot time later, I tried talking about it, with person 1, since person 2 asked if he could come along over to person 1's house, as I had to go visit him too. Person 1 started getting angry, as he's a bit childish at some points, I can't deny that. Now person 1 has gone as far, as ask if I still want to be friends with him. And I really don't want to, because me, person 1 and a third friend has always let person 2 out of our friendship. I felt bad each time, and I just couldn't take it anymore, to supress the actual hate I have for the problem. I've gone so far, just to make person 1 happy again. I can't tolerate that he's not open for a friendship, OR AT LEAST A TALK with person 2, after TWO AND A HALF YEAR! I need assistance please! I don't want to lose any of them. |

Very rarely do women ever get eaten. Is this because the writers think that as women, we would be more bothered by seeing a female get eaten than a man?
