Question: It seems like I'm invited to the wedding but I never got an invitation? Posted: 01 May 2015 01:51 PM PDT I have a relatively small family. My cousin, who lives a few states away and I rarely get to see unfortunately, is getting married in August. Last October, her mother and younger sister came to visit my parents and I. During the visit, Anne (my cousin's mother) was discussing the wedding plans with my parents and I. She told us the venue, things to do in the area, and hotel accommodations. A few weeks later, my mother got a save the date email addressed to her, my father, and me. Then about 3 weeks ago, my parents got the wedding invite in the mail. It was addressed to Mr & Mrs. Jones (my parents). I was not included on the invite and I did not get my own invite in the mail (even though I live with my parents, I am 22 so I am an adult so I would've thought I'd get my own invite... if I was in fact invited.) Since my name wasn't mentioned on my parents' invite and I didn't get my own, I assumed that unfortunately I was not invited to the wedding. Two days ago, it was my cousin's birthday. I texted her and wished her a happy birthday and said "I hope to see you sometime soon." I didn't mention the wedding at all because it's not my place to do so. But she replied back saying "Thanks! See you at the wedding :)" I don't know what exactly to think now. Should I mention that I never received an invite? |
Posted: 01 May 2015 12:56 PM PDT I ask b/c I'm getting married in 3 months and I was fine not doing it in a church, however, my grandmother's wish is to see me walk down a church isle. With that being said, we're not sure if she'll make it this year, also the reason for the short wedding planning. If anyone can help or has any info I'm very open to ur suggestions. No negative comments plz |
Question: Getting married before turning 20?! Thoughts? Posted: 01 May 2015 12:40 PM PDT So I myself am 30 and no where near tying the know. But I have a cousin of mine who is 19 and she is engaged. I am so happy for her but I still have my concerns... naturally. She seems to be with an awesome guy but not a real good job (since he is just 19 as well) While I have have more concerns, some other family members are not happy with her decision at all. I would love to hear from some other folks who have gone through this or are currently going through this to give me some advice. I would especially love to hear from actual engaged young couples who are planning on walking done the isle and what they are going through. Thanks in advance! -JO |
Question: What should I bring as a gift? Posted: 01 May 2015 09:45 AM PDT I was invited to a close friend's bridal shower but she has no registry. She won't marry in the US since her marriage will be with her fiance in Africa. Then she will come back here. Her husband won't come to the US to be with her because he has to apply for a Visa and that can take months or up to years. So she will live with her parents in their home. I do not know what to give her. I am low on money as well since I am still in college. Any suggestions? |
