Question: I want to get married in a courthouse? Is that weird? Posted: 26 May 2015 10:15 PM PDT I have an extremely large extended family, and almost all of them I cannot stand. I hate being the center of attention, and the idea of paying thousands of dollars for a one day event seems frivolous (especially because I will be going to medical school, which means I will most likely have a lot of student loans.) I am 18 right now, and I have thought about this for as long as I can remember. I know that my parents, especially my mother, will be very angry about this. When my cousin got married in a ceremony of just himself, his wife, and the priest, she was extremely offended. I am also my father's only daughter, so I think he might be upset too. In addition, my family knows me by my first name, while my friends know me by my middle name, so I think a wedding would be really confusing because of this. What should I do? |

Question: Can a strapless dress be modest? Posted: 26 May 2015 08:20 PM PDT My wedding dress is strapless and I love it. I've kinda poked around with my fiancé and he has even said he'd rather have me in strapless than anything else for the wedding. I'm just wondering about any modest issues. The dress doesn't show cleavege and it's not a sweetheart neckline so no plunge what so ever. What do you all think? |
Question: What size keg should i get for a wedding? Posted: 26 May 2015 07:10 PM PDT My wedding will have 105 people attending in which only little under half actually drink beer so total 40-50 people. A regular half barrel holds about 165 12oz beers but can be expensive so do i need that much or should i go for something smaller? Someone who has personal experience buying kegs please help.. |

Question: Is he really interested? Posted: 26 May 2015 01:57 PM PDT So we met through an online flirting website. We talked yesterday night, today (all day) then I suddenly stopped texting him because he's getting the wrong impression. Given to my love fatalities, I've decided to have a casual relationship, but he's talking about hsving children, a future, his family and also about "having dinner before seeing each other..." then he tried to be nonchalant and a little bit more cool but he came out too strong to be a casual thing. He wants to know what I do during the weekends, about ny entire life, and to ask him questions... I've been played my entire life by men, that now I feel empowered and I act like I don't give an ...... you know the F word. What should I do? |

Question: I'm 26 and engaged, parents have a problem with my fiancé staying over at the house? Posted: 26 May 2015 10:52 AM PDT I am 26 and engaged to marry my boyfriend of 4 years. He is in the Navy and has 2wks off to be with me. My parents are driving me insane 24/7 for him to marry me asap. He made arrangements to stay with me at my parents house and now they are saying that he isn't allowed to stay with us unless he goes to the courthouse to marry me that week. Meanwhile he won't be sleeping in the same bedroom as me and my brother has had random girls sleep over in his room with the door shut for years and years. Granted we can always get a hotel but honestly? I think they are being extremely unreasonable, am I right? What should I do? I do not live with my parents. They asked that I spend the time with them and bring him along so that they could get to know him better. I was only trying to go along with what they wanted because they are my family. Regardless of how old I am I try to respect and be at peace with my family. I'm not sure how that makes me immature? Some people have no values I suppose. |
Question: Average price you paid for your engagement ring? Posted: 26 May 2015 10:14 AM PDT Looking into getting one, what did you pay for yours? Woah Kevin, calm down man, I'm just curious what the average price for one is out there, this is not implying how much love there is in the cost, I'm just wondering what the general idea is so that when I DO go looking for one, I'm not blown away by the extreme price OR I could find one within my budget. Also Kevin, FYI buddy, how do I give a ring to my future wife WITHOUT buying one, my parents came from a war stricken part of the world, its not like they can give me one that they had. Also, what does 'shallow' have to imply for getting a ring? It's more of tradition than anything, stop being insulting. |
Question: Is there any way other than rhodium coating to whiten a white gold ring? Posted: 26 May 2015 10:14 AM PDT I am getting married in 11 days and our rings finally came in today. My engagement ring is from the 1910's, if not earlier, and my wedding band is brand new. From what I've read, older rings don't usually have a rhodium coating at all and I don't want to start if it wasn't there to begin with. However, there is a visual difference between the rings. Is there any way to temporarily make the ring look whiter for pictures? |
Question: Ideas for a non traditional wedding? Posted: 26 May 2015 10:09 AM PDT Last year I got married at City Hall as part of an immigration process for my hubby. This year, on our one-year anniversary, we are having the wedding celebration we never got to have with about 70 people on a yacht going around NYC for a dinner sunset cruise. We are each having our bachelor/bachelorette parties the week before but aside from that we are not doing the typical bridesmaids/groomsmen stuff and aren't into the whole traditional wedding idea. We mostly just want an evening of dinner and dancing with loved ones to celebrate our marriage at last. However, we are calling it a wedding and sending wedding invitations, etc. Is it necessary to have a registry? Since family and friends are coming from afar, would it be disappointing to them if we don't do the whole aisle thing and instead perhaps do a renewal of vows? what does a renewal of vows entail? Should I wear a wedding dress? ANY and ALL ideas for an alternative wedding celebration are appreciated as this is 2.5 months away and I'm stressing out without a clear picture in my head. Wish my hubby and I wanted a traditional wedding but it's not our style and we feel like we're already married anyway... By the way, we are 25 years old and don't want to disappoint people but also want to stay true to ourselves. Not sure what to do... |
Question: Where to get married in youngstown ohio after getting marriage liscene on same day? Posted: 26 May 2015 08:37 AM PDT Going for get marriage license on June 1st and was wonder where I could go to get married same day without waiting. |
Question: Are you including your future husband in planning you guys wedding? Posted: 26 May 2015 08:20 AM PDT When I get married I don't care if my future husband and I are wearing potato sacks I just care about the marriage. The wedding is a small portion of our lives together. Anyway one my brothers clients got married this weekend. His client is a music executive. I never liked her because she is loud and obnoxious. Anyway she was bragging about how she made her husband cut is guest list down to 30 people while she was allowed to have at least 300 guests. Then during the wedding preparations I heard her bark orders at her husband and then saying that this is my wedding I want this I want that. Her husband is a really sweet guy and doesn't bother anybody. I saw the wedding pics on Facebook and the groom looked so sad. When I get married I want my husbands input from beginning to end because this our wedding and no one elses. I'm just asking a simple question off the top of my head. You guys are reading too much into a simple *** question. If offends for whatever reason you might as well not answer. I always ask questions about certain situations that occur in life. |
Question: Need some good words for a bridal shower party for my to be daughter-in-law? Posted: 26 May 2015 07:40 AM PDT |
Posted: 26 May 2015 07:06 AM PDT We are doing a wedding ceremony (not in a church). Could we have our friend say nice words and "marry" us, but the day before go to the courthouse and have a judge marry us? We want the wedding to be as traditional as possible for our family's sake, but still not be religious for our sake. |

Question: Is the wedding aisle song really the same as the bride and grooms first dance song? Posted: 26 May 2015 01:06 AM PDT I was going over wedding songs with my future mother in-law. I had stated I really loved Earth Angel as an aisle song to walk down with, I think its slow enough and the tempo is calm and classy in my opinion. Well my fiancée has had no interest in planning or helping with the planning for the past 9months that I had worked in putting this all together. He tells me quote what ever you want hun, I just going to be on time. As soon as I say what I like for the aisle song he pipes in and tells me NO!! its going to be an Ander's song as well so I say okay well Earth angle can be our first dance song. And he tells me no its going to again be the Ander's song. He says the aisle and first dance song are the same thing!! Really? Because in my past wedding guest experience the aiesl song doesnt last the whole 4mins. More like 1 min or less before the bride make it to the end of the aisle. |
