Question: How much should he spend on a ring? Posted: 27 May 2015 09:54 PM PDT Not a wedding set, but just the engagement. I know there are many different prices and depends on income, but would $2,500 be a higher class ring or just average in the general scheme of things |

Posted: 27 May 2015 08:21 PM PDT My fiancé and I are planning to elope this summer near Bushkill Falls in Stroudsburg, PA. Anyone know of a nice, romantic restaurant we could go to for dinner that evening? Internet searches have brought up mostly pub fare, and the Stroudsmoor Country in, which, even thought its rooms are amazing, we were not impressed with their a la carte menu. Anyone have any suggestions? We are willing to drive 30-45 minutes to a town nearby if needed. |
Posted: 27 May 2015 07:48 PM PDT Ok so cutting right to the chase... I am getting married November 14th I have pretty much everything lined up and ready to go from my brides maids, groomsmen, ring bearer, flower girls, junior bride and groom, bestman, all of that good stuff... the only bug problem I'm having is with my maid of honor. I have identical twin sisters that are 4 years older then me. They both really want to be my maid of honor and although November is at the end of the year it'll be here sooner then later and I can't decide between which sister. I know most would sat go with the older twin but the thing is they are really really identical meaning they both came at the same exact time!!! I am having "THE HARDEST" time ever. Even told them to come to an agreement but they can't and neither can i. All of my girl friends (8) are my brides maids and already have their dresses paid for so it's a bit too late to switch anything out... please please please give me some kind of advice... and leaving them out of the wedding is not an option they are my sisters not to mention my only sibblings and my fiance doesn't have any sisters or close girl cousins !!!HELP PLEASE!!! Question: How should I tell my fiancé im not IN LOVE with my ring? Posted: 27 May 2015 03:51 PM PDT Okay, here is the thing. I think my ring is very pretty and its basically of my style. But I'm not totally satisfied with it, and the main problem is... I know how much he paid for it, and I think for the amount of money he spent on it, I feel like he could've gotten a lot more ring. Not like he got ripped off, but we seem to have differencing in opinions. He paid an extra couple thousand to get a platnium ring, when in my opinion, I feel like that couple thousand should be going into the diamond rather then the band it's on...(that sits under my hand... That looks no different from white gold) It's not super small, but it is smaller than all the others we had gone and picked out, (less than 1carat) and that's because I was choosing white gold bands which left more budget for the diamond size. It just doesn't look like it's worth what he paid (to the normal eye) in my opinion. once I saw how much it was... My jaw kind of dropped into a "what?! WHY?" Moment. he thinks it being platnium is important, when I feel like I rather have more diamond. He's more of the "under the hood" kind of guy, I'm the "fancy car" type (not really I have a Hyundai but for these purposes lol) I'm not asking to go over budget, I just would've made a different choice of sacrafice. I don't want to seem ungrateful, or make him feel like I don't like it, and definitely don't want to hurt his feeling, so how would you all go about this? Should I tell him this? How? |
Posted: 27 May 2015 03:48 PM PDT He says he still loves me and thinks that we need to grow more and maybe in the future we can share what we had again. He still wants to date and act like everything is okay but I feel like he's having his cake and eating it too. I love him and I don't want him to move out nor do I want to lose him. Help? I truly value all of the feedback! Thank you all! :) |

Posted: 27 May 2015 12:28 PM PDT This is a future question but i am curious to ask it right now and see if anyone has ever done this before. Also the wedding most likely will be in December so i was thinking of something nice me and my love can have on other wedding day that is different and special and unique at the same time. |
Question: Is 23 too young to think about marriage? Posted: 27 May 2015 12:15 PM PDT I'm dating someone who is perfect husband material and I know I won't find anyone as amazing as him. Am I too young to consider marrying him? I turned 23 last week |
Question: Never invited to wedding offended? Posted: 27 May 2015 10:32 AM PDT I have a friend who is getting married. We've been friends for 5 years. Anytime he had a problem he called me. Even as recently as 2 weeks ago he called me for advice. He discussed his wedding plans with me & I jokingly said "I better get an invite" he paused & said "Eh...I have a list of people I'd rather not invite." I wasnt sure what that was supposed to mean but, he told me he was getting married in December! Well, our other friend just called & asked me if I'd be at his wedding this weekend. I never got an invite! I'm shocked!!! I'm a tad insulted as well What do I do? How do I handle this situation in a mature manner? I feel like calling him out would just cause drama. Thoughts? |
Posted: 27 May 2015 10:23 AM PDT I know the correct response to the bride is, "Best wishes on your engagement." But I really want to tell her to take her gold digging self elsewhere, How do I politely convey a positive attitude without actually saying best wishes? Wow. Some of you guys are getting really nasty about this. Perhaps my request wasn't clear. I have zero intention of saying anything against the match. Contrary to what some of you believe, I am, in fact, entitled to have an opinion. What I WAS asking, is how to say "Congratulations or Best Wishes on your engagement" Without it sounding so formal. I just can't muster the enthusiasm to be bubbly and vivacious about this so I am aiming for polite but not formal. |
Question: Looking for a wedding venue in the Seattle or Tacoma area around $1,000? Posted: 27 May 2015 10:06 AM PDT We are planning on getting married in September so something indoor would be preferred but we would like to hold to ceremony and reception there. Also we would like there to be a nice place to take pictures, we really like the country and garden settings. There will be no more than 150 people at the wedding. I live in kent, WA and am wiling to look at places up to 45min away. I would like the venue to be around $1,000 limit would be $1,300. |
Question: Is it okay to ask for bridesmaid dresses back? Posted: 27 May 2015 09:38 AM PDT My sister got married a couple months ago, and she pretty much threw aside our mom's budget completely. Her friends could not pay for the cost of their bridesmaid dresses, so my mother, frustrated from endless planning, offered to buy the $130 dress IF each maid paid $40 toward their dress. It's been 2 months, and only one girl had paid. My mom is very hurt and wanted me, as the maid of honor, to request that each girl (besides the one who paid) to return their dresses to her so she can resell them. In my opinion, that is a good idea as most of the girls had no respect for her or anyone else that day, one girl even showed up drunk before the wedding even started, AND took her dress of to change into shorts 10 minutes into the reception. But, I wanted some opinions: is this a tacky request to make, and if not how should I address the situation? Should mom talk to sister personally, should I ask sister to talk to bridesmaids? Thanks! |
Question: My best friend told us about her bridal shower last minute? Posted: 27 May 2015 08:51 AM PDT My best friend decided she was going to plan her wedding in 3 weeks. We didn't think she would have a bridal shower since it's really close to her wedding and she hasn't mentioned one thing about it and she said she didn't really want any gifts or anything like that. Late last night, she bombarded me and the other bridesmaids by asking "so are y'all coming to my bridal shower this Sunday? I want this and this and this for gifts." And I'm wtf I work that day plus I'm tight on cash right now and now me and the other bridesmaid don't know what to do because all of the things she wants is online and we would have to do like one day shipping for it to get here in time which is like $20 or more. Any advice? |
Posted: 27 May 2015 08:36 AM PDT I am planning on assigning people to tables for my wedding. What happens if people come that didn't RSVP (though I am trying to contact everyone)? When I am planning a seating chart, do I leave a few random empty spots at a few tables (like a empty spot here...one empty spot there...) or fill up each table and hope that the amount that comes but did not RSVP is the same as the amount of people that say they would come but do not? We will have escort cards for people to pick up and see which table they will be sitting at. There is no "seating chart" list or anything but I guess I could just make a list of people I hear from. It is better to have empty tables in the beginning just in case or have them set up tables as needed? We have 26 people we need to talk to, but there were 6 unknown yes RSVP's and 1 (or 1 family) who declined. |
