Today for me was the last day of freshman year for me, and now it s summer. I am happy, but a little bit dreading it, because I m afraid I am not going to do anything and not hang out with my friends. Last year (2014), besides training for the cross country season, and doing family activities, I just sat around my house, playing the few video games I had or listening to music and watching you tube. It got boring after a while. There s nobody my age on my street to hang out with, and all my friends live across town. I want to hang out with them, but I always hesitate when I want to invite them because one, I don t know what I should do with them, and two, I feel like I ll be boring. I m not shy or anything. It s just that my social life needs to improve BADLY. It s been like this for a couple years😞. Any suggestions or helpful ideas? Thank You!

So let's start from the beginning. (Let's name her Abby, not her real name) We were in the same class in fourth grade and the summer going into 5th grade (this year) She moved. She's still in the same town but different schools. She was like a sister to me, I trusted her. She was my only friend. We made a deal to keep in touch until 6th grade where all elementary go to middle. She told me she got another friend ( let's name her Grace, not her real name) and so did I (let's call her Maya) But time went and gone we got in a fight and stopped talking. Last month we started talking and stuff. Grace took my place being here bff. 2 weeks ago at the 5th grade town dance my friend that goes to her school told me she talks bad. And yesterday my school and her school went on a tour with the other 5 schools to tour the middle school. She's looking at me trying to make me jealous. She calls me a ***** idk why. And I'm scared nobody's gonna like me. I miss her, she's the other side of me... Help with these questions How to make friends (I have 1 friend who's my bff{next to Abby} that's gonna move this summer too. All my friends have started ignoring me recently. Im not annoying. Im not always up in there faces. For some reason they never hang out with me and dont even start a conversation with me anymore. I always have to go up to them. It is not just one friend doing this, so now Im down to no friends. Why are they doing this?

Alright, so summer's just starting, but I'm already worrying about entering 8th grade! Only 6 of my friends from 7th grade will be here for next year, so I'm a little frightened! I'm planning on trying to befriend the kids entering our middle school. I've also been trying to change my appearance a lot. For one, I never wore makeup, which I plan to learn how to put on and wear next year. Secondly, I'm investing in a LOT of red and black clothings, and a plaid red ushanka. My hair was really gross and short last year, so I'm letting it grow out over the summer and plan to wear it up in a ponytail and a bun. I don't know, I'm blabbering at this point. Just frustrated and excited at the same time!

This girl in my class talks about m behind my back my bff told me. Lets just call my bff Lori and the mean girl Fake. Fake every time I talk to her in a group makes me feel awkward and I never talk to her. She gets along and is nice to everyone but me. I dated someone for a long time. Over a year. Before I was a shy but outgoing person who had some friends. Now i don't have any friends, I don't like leaving my house, I'm home schooled so I don't have to often. I don't have anyone to talk to or anything. I don't have anything to do. My friend's girlfriend of about eight months has become way too clingy. My best friend and I have been fighting all day. We have been friends for about 7 years and have never really fought before. But yesterday she was being super obnoxious about something we were talking about and it made me really annoyed with her. So today she could tell I was annoyed (we work together, so we see each other often), and brought it up. So I told her how I felt and this was her apology "I'm sorry you felt I was obnoxious and rude. I certainly didn't mean it that way." To me, that's the most obnoxious way to apologize ever. so there's this girl. we've been friends this whole school year. we've had an on-again, off-again friendship. i also think she might be a little bi-polar but that's not the point. Okay so, my best friend and I have been very close for 2 years or so and in December, she asked me to join her and her family on a vacation to Disney World in June and I was extactic to go. In about March, we had a stupid and petty fight but, we made up and our friendship really hasn't been the same since that fight. So , 10 years ago, i had a friend (we'll name him X ) in kindergarten ( im 14) and our parents were friends. So yesterday, my mum met his mom at the barbershop or something like that and she told her to come over with X. I m just flabbergasted we are not invited.  I did share with her that I was making a Valentines Party and another surprise party for my husband and that of course, she s the mother of my son s best friend, and of course she s invited! She is always welcome in my house!  I feel like a fool, I know is about what you give and not what you get, but here, I thought we were sharing our lives, that as I welcome her to social events in my life and in my house, she d show a little bit of reciprocity.

I recommended a job at the pool as a checker to two of my friends and said they could apply at any time, which is true. But I just found out that there are enough checkers and no more are needed. I feel pretty bad about it because they are both interested but neither can be a life guard, which the director said would be the only way they got hired. Should I really feel bad about this? I didn't guarantee them a job but I feel like maybe I should have checked about these things first.

Okay so my friend has A LOT of friends and every time I hang out with her, she always has someone come up to her. She is a good friend and makes eye contact with me while talking to the other person. Well, I'm a teenager and everybody seems to always be so rude to me. I live in Ohio the most cussing state, so that could be why. But anyways, where ever I go people are rude to me. Examples: I was at the movie theater and I cut some guy on accident and he gave me a really mean and dirty look and stuck his thumb really rudely to go to the back of the line. At a fast food restaurant I was paying for some food, I put some money down and the lady didn't see it and she started glaring at me like I was gonna take off and steal it. I was also in another incident at an ice cream parlor and I on accident again, took some elder's cone because we ordered the same thing and the guy slapped my hand and screamed at me for five minutes. I felt so threatened. I'd seriously do anything to help anybody out. When I'm older I'm going to donate to charities and help the poor. I always liked helping people and they always treat me like sh!t. It makes me feel bad and they aren't appreciative at all.

Hello.. Im a 20 year old girl going to college. Im somewhat attractive and love having a good time. Everytime i meet friends for the first time, they admire how chill and adventurous I am then say "we should hangout more." then when it comes down to it, they dont want to hangout. Ive tried clubs, sororities, just hanging out with myself, and literally nothing works. When i go on dates the guys are surprised that i have no friends because they think im great to be around. This makes no sense to me and hurts my feelings. Even the one friend i do have, she only calls me when her and her bf have issues. It really makes me wonder what im doing here if no one wants to be around me.. Why am i putting effort into friends if they dont reciprocate it? If i killed myself no one would even know. no one texts or calls me.. This sucks because this age is supposed to be the time of your life and im so miserable and lonely...

Sorry its kinda a long story. My friend of about 4-3 years his mom is a hoarder. He hasn t told me his mom is a hoarder and neither has his mom. However she has told my mom (they are bestfriends). I know he is hurting because of some things that he post on social media or little hints he drops to me. He is almost 16 and we kinda have a past "relationship" but that s a whole other story. My friend and I who has also known him since before his parents got a divorce are thinking about asking him to hang out with us this weekend and talk to him about it. I strongly believe that this has been going on his whole life, and that he is afraid about speaking out in fear of what his mom will say. If you have any ideas of how to help him please tell me. She drinks, smokes cigs and pot and has had sex with a guy and fooled around with an older guy (she's 16) and her grades are really low but she has some of the "cool" friends and goes to parties a lot. I'm kind of the opposite and a bit of a wallflower sometimes. I'm a straight A student in AP classes and studying for sats next year and all that fun stuff to get into an Ivy league school and I have my share of friends but they're not like the "cool" kids. i mean my friends grades arent the best but maybe grades and ivy league isnt everything and i should be "enjoying" my teenage years smoking and drinking and partying too? My cousin drinks too (15) and she has a boyfriend and I'm single. I feel so left out and it seems like my friend has more fun because she drinks and smokes and all that stuff. Should I be less of a prude and less uptight and loosen up and drink and smoke and have sex with some guy? Will I get invited to more parties then?

This question comes off strange. Maybe I am looking for people who can relate, who knows. I'm originally from Russia and my one true friend still lives there. I've known her for sixteen years of my life, I am seventeen now. It's hard for me to make friends, and nobody I meet seems to be interested in me. I have people to talk to in school, but outside of school it's like we aren't really friends. People seem to only need me when they want something. I'm always the person to ask to hang out, nobody ever asks me. It's hard sometimes, making relationships happen with people and it's hard that your only friend is an ocean away.

When I was 18 my Mom called herself adopting my sisters baby when he was 9 months. My Mom kept him for a week got married and dropped the baby off and said she's not messing up her life. I had to drop out of college and work two jobs to name ends meet. I never got to live and enjoy life. I'm now 24 and want to start back school. But I'm still struggling. My Mom and sister take turns claiming the child on their taxes. My Mom has custody and receives all benefits. I didn't chose this life and always wanted to wait to have kids. I love him like he's mine. But I'm not ready to be a Mom. I'm more into getting through with school and having a career. My Mom now divorced her husband. I want to ask her to keep him 4 days out the weeks and I keep him for 3 days. I just don't know what to do. I've been very unhappy for so long. I tried to talk to my church but they make me feel worse. Would I be a bad person if I give him to my Mom?

so my best friend of 15 years for the past few months has been hanging out with this other girl basically all the time and rarely ever hanging out with me, and whenever we do hang out it normally consists of her texting and snap chatting this other girl for a majority of the time. it just makes me feel shed rather be with her then me. and then just today, we had plans to go to disneyland, but she cancels because my mom was getting home too late to take us, and she felt we wouldnt have enough time there. so the whole plans get cancelled, so i say 10 mins after she cancelled, hey you wanna go somewhere else then? and she says, no, im actually with (insert other girls name here)..she was so quick to drop me and be hanging out with that other girl....so do you think i should call her out on this, and tell her its bothering me, or just avoid the drama? i really dont know if i should call her out, cuz wont it just make stuff awkward, when we do hang out. but then at the same time i feel like it cant be just brushed under the rug..

I just recently graduated from High School, and in the fall 2 out of 3 of my best friends are moving with me to another city to start college. I will be rooming with one of them. But, the thing is whenever I hang out with them I start to feel bad about myself. Like, I don t relate to them at all. There s 3 of them and they are all into alternative music, which I certainly don t hate, but it s not something I listen to often, and I can t keep up in a conversation about. So I m often left out of conversations. Then there s the fact that they often put down the things I like, so I never really get to talk about myself other than making jokes about myself so they don t think that I m bothered about it. Lastly, one of them is always gossiping and I just don t like it. They also talk about weed fairly frequently and it makes me uncomfortable. I think they think I m a child because I don t want to be involved with that kind of stuff. So, I don t know. We have fun when we re together but my mind gets stuck on some of these things and it makes me hard to walk away feeling happy. I love them a lot and I just don t know what to do... I m sick of feeling awful about myself after each time we re together, but I don t want to just ditch them because then I ll feel even more miserable all the time.

So, I have some things going on with friends and middle school drama. One of my best friends of a long time recently left me for 2 other girls, and now it's like they're in some clique or something. She hasn't said a word to me in over a week. We avoid each other's glances, but she knows I'm hurt, and thinking about her, and I think she likes it. I think she loves knowing that she won, and that I'm hurting. I always feel so stupid around her, and I know her life is going so perfect now without me. AND, on top if that, I have another "friend". Things used to be great with us. We were pretty close. But recently it's like she forgot I exist. She has so many other friends, and by the way she looks right at alone and sad, and then looks away pretending she didn't see me, I know she doesn't care about me. I know it's all just a big game to her. I'm also starting to see other sides of her I wish I didn't know. Like how she struts around and flips her hair, ya like in the movies. And how much she strives to get the attention of almost everyone around her. I just want to be done with both of them, and forget all the pain they have put me through. So one day my friend asked me on the bus if I'm gay(stupid question right). So I said no(I'm a 13 year old boy). And they said to type in gay in the safari search bar but not to click search. And gay marriage, gay parade and gay pride came up when u typed in gay without clicking enter. All my friends thought that gay marriage, gay parade, and gay pride was my part of my search history and now they are making fun of me really badly about it. I say that that's not my search history and I never looked that up. But they think I'm lying and they make endless mean comments on me being gay. Sometimes when I say things, they'll say things like "I'm sorry your gay" or "why don't u like girls, that's disgusting".How can I make them stop saying mean things and make them stop thinking this. Okay so I'm a girl who is 14 (8th grade) who moved back in October to a new school that is over 100 miles away from my old hometown... Well at first I thought my new school was cool and as I was going through the year, I've experienced a lot of crazy things. Well there is this one girl (let's call her Jade).. Well Jade doesn't like me for some reason (I don't know why) I never did anything to her, she would call me names and say I'm stuck up, she would look at me up and down and roll her eyes, and she would talk about me constantly for no reason.. She's always worried about who I'm talking to or who I'm dating and everything else, she followed me Instagram and then unfollowed me (again no reason) I would say hi to her and she would just stare at me and roll her eyes.. When I first got here she wasn't that mean, but it's like all of a sudden she hates me for no reason... Like one day I got mad at her and called her an annoying b**** (excuse my language) because she would bother me and talk crap about me... What did I do? :(

Well, today I just couldn't take it anymore.. While I am in school, I don't talk at all because I honestly don't even want to talk to people anymore. That same rule applies anywhere where I am.. Earlier in school, everyone would make fun of me, joke in an arrogant way, even insults. A few minutes ago, I was outside with my as called friends, and well it was going well, they were playing the ball and I was sitting down as usual. Then suddenly they started making insults, such as how stupid I am, how retarded I look, and such. Honestly, almost everyone threats me like this, just like I'm crap. I'm drinking like crazy but I need a more permanent solution rather than drinking.. I just can't take the pain anymore honestly, I am even thinking of suiciding honestly. No talents, no skills, no friends, no anything.

im a 14 year year old girl in high school..ever since i started high i've gotten deppressed cos of the people there :/ this is my story..i'm half caucasion and half asian but a lot of people call me white ever since i was little. the school i go to are MAJORITY black people and there's only 5 white people who go there including myself. u guys probaby know that black people were slaves by the white and blah blah blah and blakes were servants for the white and treated like dogs.. well in my school a lot of people are racist! it's awful :'( i got hurt by my friends today.. today in the art room i was looking at my school's old picture.in the picture it was a bunch of girls and only were 2 white girls (btw its an all girls school) and i said oh wow she's pretty and a classmate overheard me said "Racist!" and i was like "WTF? just cos i said someone pretty im freaking racist??? she said nothing and i said "says the girl who's calling me racist talking about who much she hates white people a few days ago!!" omg i was soo mad >:( i took a seat and heard my 'so call friends' saying bad things about the whites.. one was like 'i can't stand those people when they look at me WTF!" another was like "this is a black people land they think they're better!!" I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY WERE SAYING SO MUCH BA THINGS ABOUT ME!! THEY KNEW I WAS THERE I SAT RIGHT NEXT TO THEM! i felt so hurt my friends were saying those things i walked away .. im pretty sure they knew i was hurt but they don't care :/

Sorry its kinda a long story. My friend of about 4-3 years his mom is a hoarder. He hasn t told me his mom is a hoarder and neither has his mom. However she has told my mom (they are bestfriends). I know he is hurting because of some things that he post on social media or little hints he drops to me. He is almost 16 and we kinda have a past "relationship" but that s a whole other story. My friend and I who has also known him since before his parents got a divorce are thinking about asking him to hang out with us this weekend and talk to him about it. I strongly believe that this has been going on his whole life, and that he is afraid about speaking out in fear of what his mom will say. If you have any ideas of how to help him please tell me. He is a really important person in my life and I hate to see him suffer and be held back due to his mothers disability.

my close friend and I have been very good friends for the bones of three years, we've both been on each others family holidays and stuff like that. But recently we have changed classes in school so I'm no longer in her class and we've been arguing over small things up until April. Since April shes become a lot more snappy and losing her temper a lot. She always accuses me of 'lying' to her when I'm clearly not because she knows me inside and out and back to front.. Ok so around a month ago I saw a really close friend of mines password. I was planning to go on her social media and make an embarrassing status. I didn't intent to look through her messages. As I logged on and was typing the status a message from our mutual best friend (my best friend of 5 years). As any human you would want to know, I was gonna leave it until I saw my name in the message. So I checked it out, it was from a group chat of our 4 closest friends trash talking me. I was so angry I kept scrolling hoping it was only one conversation. Well it was multiple I took screenshots. My friend changed her password for security and I never told her I knew it or what I saw. I'm hurt and there have been times where they hushed the conversation when I came and stuff. We take the same classes and stuff so what do I do? (I can send the messages to the person who answers to really help)

So I met this one guy last year. We started becoming friends, and we're now both 17. He's Pakistani, speaks perfect English and Urdu, and this summer, he wants to hang out with me. I feel crazy, because I'm willing to walk an hour just to go see him every day. He thinks I'm his best friend. But I can't speak Urdu. I only speak English. Is that stupid? And is it too late to start a friendship at 17 and be best friends? Like, is it normal to find a best friend at 17? And is that too late of an age to stay friends for life? Now, can I be his friend if he's bilingual, and I'm only monolingual? I'm white, he's Pakistani. Is that a possible BEST FRIEND friendship? She was some trainwreck I had seen walking by when I moved into the neighboorhood and she looked at me in a "You are not welcome here" sort of way. A chronic alcoholic she was, and that's what killed her. She tried to make up for the way she treated me at first by cooking for me and bringing her best food to my door. Even complenmented me when i accidentally opened my door to her while I was naked under a set of sheets and she got an accidental peek at my dong. Still, I know I work hard to make a good first impression and I know I didi nothing to her at first, that's why I never cared to accept her regret. Your thoughts?

I know how it feels. Grieving takes a long time and I know that. I lost my mom a while back and it took months to feel even a little better. He's 12 and I'm 13 girl. He's me best friend in the whole world and I hate seeing him so hurt. He's made t shirts for the guy and dog tags for ppl to wear. We tried talking about it but it made him more upset. He died on the 25th of May and he's been crying on the phone with me all night since. I try to comfort him. I saw him yesterday in person and all I could do was hold him and tell him it's going to be okay. The sad thing is he commited suicide and no one knew he was depressed or anything. I soo badly want to just take the pain away but I know I can't. What can I do to just make him feel better at all? It hurts me so much to know how hurt he is. Please just give me some idea on how to console him and get his mind off of it??

Whenever I try to make girl-friends they seem nice at first but then they change. So I made this friend...lets call her friend A. Friend A always says stuff that seems passive, like I tell her I got an A on my test and instead of saying 'good job' she'll say "Oh, well my test was an honors test so it's harder" like shes trying to defend herself or make me feel bad. When I told her I was asked out she immediately say "I've been asked out a lot, like five times", shouldn't friends be excited for me and ask me about them. I feel like I'm giving too much, and she's not offering anything for this friendship. She says stuff that make me feel low, like i'm stupid compared to her. She always says stuff that makes her seem better, and she always have to be right. Friend B, I don't know where to start. She causes so much drama. I have a pretty low self esteem so I hate taking pictures. While I'm not paying attention she takes bad pictures of me, like when we were at the beach and I was leaning over weird so I look fat and then she posted it to facebook! Without my permission, whenever I ask her to take it down cuz I don't like it and her account isn't private so creeps can go look at it. Both of them talk to each other and look on each others phones then laugh and seem to ignore me. When ever I'm talking they just start talking and ignore me. Friend A swears we are best friends (been friends for 3 years) but I honestly don't know anymore, she has changed alot. I feel bad about myself when I'm around them. Are they friends worth keeping? I'm the guy, I'm 15 a sophomore at Danbury high school and she's a freshman. I have CF so that's why I'm out of shape and I have a 40 year lifespan. I go to Planet Fitness and work out until I can't move and play basketball because I'm embarrassed of my body, and I mainly do it for her. We have French class together but we don't talk, we both sit in the front but on opposite sides of the room. But last Monday Madame let me wait by the door and I made small talk with her. I just asked how she did on the quiz and we talked about how Mr. Perdy got hurt and it went well. Ni chance Tuesday, I got to speak to her for a minute while she was getting her quiz, and I haven't had a chance to speak to her since because she's either talking to her friends and I don't want to interrupt their conversation, or the bell rings and I need to leave. With only 15 days of school left I'm running out of time, I need to get out of the stranger zone. She doesn't know my name yet. I like her all around, her looks, and her very nice personality, and the fact that she also wears glasses makes me feel less insecure about mine. How do I get out of the stranger zone with her? Am I good enough for her? Please Help Me!
