Question: Not getting along with my Wedding Planner - should I fire her? Posted: 25 May 2015 10:39 PM PDT We recently hired a wedding planner + day of coordinator. On a personal level we seem to click, but at this point I'm more stressed than before we hired them. They want to just go with the flow and seem really confused/put-off when I've asked for a schedule for the next year. I'm more type-A, and when i've told them that they just say that's not how it works. When I reference my concerns about little issues they just tell me that we'll deal with them later. Am I being too demanding? Do I just need to let it go? I'm just worried that six months from now they're going to be like "Have you done X?" and I won't have because I was waiting for them to bring it up. Or, what if we should have booked a cheaper vendor earlier on in the process when it comes up that I want something later in the design phase? We're still 11 months out but I don't feel like I'm asking for to much for asking for a checklist or calendar? Should I fire them? I would probably loose a couple hundred dollars... |
Question: If you don't use traditional wedding vows, do you still repeat after the preacher? Posted: 25 May 2015 08:31 PM PDT We wrote our own vows, but even so, my fiance is awful at remembering things word for word. We are sure that he could probably make something up as he went along until he got back in track if he did forget, but our vows correspond with one another and we just don't want to take any risks. If you have nontraditional vows, can you still have the preacher read them off and repeat after him? Does anyone else have more suggestions? |
Question: Do doctors get invited to weddings? Posted: 25 May 2015 08:16 PM PDT I was wondering if I should invite a former doctor of mine to my wedding but was wondering if it would be weird considering that she is a gynecologist and I don't want it to be awkward its just that she is so nice even though I only had two appointments with her shouod I invite her and her husbqnd to my wedding in new york city thanks. I was going to invite other doctors of mine to the wedding so I don't think she and her husband our going to be uncomfortable Plus the fact me and my husband are both doctors and the wedding is going to have both doctors and lawyers and friends and family |
Question: Jobs where you make people s dreams come true? Posted: 25 May 2015 05:00 PM PDT I want a list of jobs where you make people dreams come true, that take a lot of creativity. For example, a wedding or party planner, wedding dress designer (not only to do with weddings, though!) Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Question: Affordable rooftop or waterside wedding venue in Chicago? Posted: 25 May 2015 04:12 PM PDT I live in Ann Arbor but am expanding my wedding venue search to Chicago since it has always been an appealing city to visit for my fiance and I. I have found some really cool options, such as Crystal Gardens, Planaterium, and the Shedd Aquarium, but I am wondering if there are other uniquely appealing, yet more affordable options around the city? Thinking something rooftop or waterside with a view of the city. Some basic info: Guest count will be around 100-125, budget is on the lower end, perhaps $10,000 - $15,000, but willing to splurge more on the venue and sacrifice in other areas. As far as time frame goes, shooting for sometime between May 2016 and September 2016, preferably a Saturday but willing to do Friday if it means substantial savings. |

Question: Ideas on how to cover a park pavilion from the wind for a wedding? Posted: 25 May 2015 03:02 PM PDT I'm planning a wedding at a public park that has a large pavilion in the picnic area, and the tables are under it. But I live in California and the wind is unpredictable, some days it's sunny with no wind at all, and other days it's sunny with some wind at 10-15mph, it's usually just in a few bursts and not always constant, we've still had birthday parties outdoors like that but on the special day of the wedding I would just really prefer to block it inside the pavilion. I tried looking on pinterest and google but didn't find any examples. Can you show or describe some examples that would look nice/elegant but still serve its purpose? Like what kind of material or how to install it, etc. The pavilion doesn't have stairs, it's leveled with the rest of the terrain, but it's concrete on the floor inside and a little bit around outside. The shape is a hexagon or octagon (I forgot how many sides it has) Thank you in advance! |

Question: Can you bring your fiance to shop with you for your wedding dress? Posted: 25 May 2015 10:54 AM PDT i hear it's against "tradition" or "rules" that the groom can't see the wedding dress until the wedding day or whatever. so can you bring your fiance to shop with you for your wedding dress? because i would think you'd want the guy who you love's opinion more than others @librareian oh yeah totally so he can pick my clothes out the rest of my life it's a simple question. i would like my fiance(my best friend)'s opinion. we know each other more than any one else and i would like to include him in on the fact that it is BOTH of our weddings |
Question: Dose the maid of honour sit at the top table? Posted: 25 May 2015 10:19 AM PDT Im having a wedding blessing in church i would love my best friends to be my maid of honour but dose she need to sit at the top table as i would like my brother at the top table x |
Question: Feeling torn and indecisive about who should walk me down the asile.? Posted: 25 May 2015 03:08 AM PDT I'm getting married next June and have no idea who should walk me down the asile. My real dad was never apart of my life.. My grandpa basically raised me even after my mom got remarried to my step dad who I have some what of a good father daughter relationship with. It is getting better as I get older. Anyways I always dreamed my grandpa would walk me down the aisle. We are super close and always have been he is the man who raised me I see him more as a dad then anyone. But I don't want to hurt my stepdads feelings or my grandpas so I was thinking of having my brother walk me down the asile. I know after all is said and done it is my choice..but I am the type of person who tries to please everyone and HATE to hurt peoples feelings. |
