Question: I really want my dad to move back in my mam never spends anytime with me? Posted: 20 May 2015 01:55 PM PDT I really miss my dad my mam kicked him out like five days ago because he drinks too much, but I really miss him because every evening my dad and I used to spend time together watching tv or whatever. I reallY miss him I haven't seen him at all or spoken to him on the phone, when my mam comes home from work at four she gets my nephew and spends time with him until half seven when she brings him home, she never makes proper dinners or asks me how was school. Then when she comes home she rings her sister on the phone and talks to her until bed time. I'm so lonely, I talk to my friends online but I just want someone to sit down with in person and I can't with my friends on the weekdays:( what should I do i don't live with any of my siblings, I have noone to talk to and I'm crying all the time in school I'm getting distracted and got to the bathrooms to cry. |
Question: Who should i choose? Posted: 20 May 2015 01:52 PM PDT My parents are divorced and I have the choice to live with either my mom or dad. But who do I chose? I currently live with my dad but he's getting married and I don't like the person he's marrying so I have the option to live with my mom. But if I do I'll miss my dad but I feel like it could be good with my mom. But if I stay I'll miss her to much. Help! |
Question: My mom saw my progress report and she is going to KILL ME?!? Posted: 20 May 2015 01:52 PM PDT Okay so when I got home from school today I saw my progress report on the table, it must have come in the mail. It was open, of course, and the letter was on the table, so I know she saw it. I have a D in English and Geometry, and a C in biology and Japanese. She's going to be home in an hour and she is going to kill me. She's one of the strict Asian moms who gets mad if I get anything below 90. I'm crying so hard and I'm so scared right now. She's going to slap me and yell at me and make me afraid of her for like a month. I know it's just a progress report and not an actual report card, but my grades are still really bad and I don't know if I can fix them. I'm usually a straight A student, it's just this year I've been struggling and I am also absent a lot because of being sick, so I missed a lot of assignments. What should I do before she gets home to make her less mad?? Please help me!!!! |
Question: Why do my parents treat me differently? Posted: 20 May 2015 01:49 PM PDT First, I am the oldest of three, and am still in college. My brother is also in college as well. About 8 months ago, he decided the he wanted to start his own "gig" doing maintence work to vehicles. It went by well in the beginning and he made some cash (he ended it when he went back to school). Recently I've been studying web development, and have created sample websites. I ordered business cards and they arrived. I showed my parents and they were like "okay..." *shrug* and they leave it sitting on the table. I didn't really get the same reaction as my brother did when he was started his awhile back. They really were excited for him. I am just wondering why I am not getting the same reaction? sorry for the typos! *left* & *first*. |
Posted: 20 May 2015 01:40 PM PDT As I dislike most young children I dislike my nephews as well. Can you blame me? They're annoying, messy, & rude but if you say something about it then you're the a**. I especially hate my oldest nephew who is not even related to me biologically OR by law. He obviously has ADHD. It's so obvious it hurts. Numerous teachers & daycare professionals have told my sister and boyfriend this yet it's like they refuse to get him treatment. even if he's in a special program at school already it's not working at least not outside of school. He never listens to anyone & is the rudest, ******** child I've ever seen &acts like he's a 'thug' when he's six years old for crying out loud. He's been raised in the worst environment and obviously nobody scolds him him for his behavior. I can't stand him. I avoid him at all costs. I especially hate how my parents favor my older sister simply because she has kids. my nephews get whatever they want from my parents while me and my younger sisters who are both minors are ignored.I hate it. Call me immature or jealous or whatever, I don't care. I just want equal treatment and something to happen to him.& my sister is selling her house. She hasn't made any effort to find a new house. & if she doesn't have a house by the time her house sells her and her 3 kids + boyfriend will move into my house which is only 3 legal beds 3 baths. I will literally kill myself before living with them!! I will not deal with them What do I do? |
Posted: 20 May 2015 01:32 PM PDT My mom has always had some...control issues. She is also very emotionally fragil..and if we express like for anyone but her, or a diffrent opinion, or show emotion other than happy she really lays into us and sees it as 'betrayal'. I got pregnant at 18 and she kicked me out ( but I was happy to go ..home was not happy ). Well I ended up raising a son on my own..the dad left us too and never paid his child support. But since age 19 I have been a single mom, working 2 jobs when I had to, alaways making sure my son felt validated and loved and made sure NOT to be like my own mother. My son is now 18. One thing my mom has done is get herself close to my son and even tho we alwyas lived on our own, she often would put in her 2 centse to tell me how to parent and how I was a bad mom etc ( I bit my tounge...because I am just not a fighting type person and if my son was happy being close to her, I was cool with that). He's a great kid. He has worked at the same job 2 years, his teachers love him. he was a commited b ball player for 8 years. Just a nice , well adjusted young man. But he has fallen behind in school and may not graduate on time. He's 18...if he screws up that's his life now. I feel like I did the best I could. But my mom is telling me I am not parenting properly and SHE cares about him and if I don't 'DO" something ,she will. etc. Says she did 'a lot ' for him and baically we owe her now. BTW...if he is not in school after this , he is aware he has to start helpig out with bills as an adult. But mom wants me to DO MORE about it. |
Question: How to explain this to my daughter? Posted: 20 May 2015 01:32 PM PDT I'm 20, single dad, my 5 year old daughter's name is Lindsay. She knows next to nothing about her mom, Cara. I hate talking about her. Lindsay's seen 1 picture with her mom and that's at my parent's house. We fought daily until she left when Lindsay was around 1.5 years old. Last night I made a huge error. It was Lindsay's bedtime and she was fighting me. Me: Ok Squirt, bedtime Her: No Me: Yes, I'm the parent, I make the rules, you follow. Her: No. Me: Yes, now go Her: No bedtime Me: Cara, I'm done fighting, bed. Her: Who's Cara?? Me: Just go, I'll tell you at some point. Should I explain my slip up? What do I do? |
Question: Dad Acuses Me Of Stuff I Don't Do And Swears At Me And Beats Me?!? Posted: 20 May 2015 01:31 PM PDT HELP!!! My dad said hes gon a call the cops if he doesn't find this ring. Question: Thoughts on changing my middle or last name to "Pheonix"? Posted: 20 May 2015 01:25 PM PDT My birth given middle name is Nicholas...Terrible name...This is because of our horrid uncle Nick who is a very unpleasent man who we do not talk to anymore. Its a horrible second name, and id be changing it for all the right reasons, such as i and others hate the name and it reminds me of a bad family member. Now, the reason i want to change my middle name to "Pheonix" is because i simply think its a beautiful name. The Pheonix bird is elegant and brave. It represents respect and bravery. It also sounds pretty damn cool! I also look up to River Pheonix, as an actor, i have alot of respect for him and his uprising in the years he was alive. I love his way of acting and his style is amazing. I wouldnt mind just changing my middle name, but id love to change my last name! I might aswell say it, but its Hannam. Not a very respected name, its historically mis spelt apparently, so its not even a true second name. And its my Dads sides second name, now its only me and my older brother called Hannam that could carry on the Hannam name by reproducing, And id just like to say i wouldnt really care if we didnt, as the Hannams have never really amounted to much on my dads side. I just wouldnt feel right changing my lastname as everyone knows me as Hannam and its my whole life being a Hannam. (Im 17 by the way). So im not sure, i would go for it if it wasnt for the fact of letting my Dad down and destroying the Hannam with our genes. So what do you think? Any advice? Thanks! |
Question: I Hate my sisters husband. Help :(? Posted: 20 May 2015 01:21 PM PDT my sister died about 6 years ago. She had 3 children they are 11,10 & 7. The father is always touching my shoulders it freaks me out, though I could be a little nicer too them, Ithey are taking care of 6 children 3 are my sisters one is both of theirs and 2 are the stepmoms. Question: Confused 14 year old Muslim here, please help? Posted: 20 May 2015 01:16 PM PDT I'm 14 years old and I'm a Muslim. My dad's sister has a son 2 years older than me, and wants me to marry him when I'm 18/19. I don't want to but my older sister, who's already married says that my parents start to sin if I don't marry and will go to hell. I wouldn't mind marrying him or anyone when I'm 23/24 because I'd rather finish my education and find a good job first to support me and my family. My mum is slowly going blind and the doctors say that she will eventually lose her sight. I don't want to leave her and want to stay by her to help out because I have 2 younger brothers and one is disabled and in a wheelchair. My mum has to do everything for him, pick him up to put him in bed, help him go to the toilet, and she will need quite a lot of help because my younger brother is also a bit overweight. just thinking of marriage disgusts me for some reason, I just have a sick feeling in my stomach. My mum is saying that she won't force me to marry, which im grateful for but I'm not too sure on what to do? |
Question: How to talk to spouse about a frustrating topic? Posted: 20 May 2015 01:12 PM PDT My husband and I live at my mother in laws right now because he quit his job to go to school for EMT. Well, we found out I'm pregnant with our second and so he went back to selling cars instead of pursuing what he really wants, so that we can start saving money. The whole problem is the room at my MIL house is soo small that my son and I have 1 drawer each and have clothes stacked in piles. There is hardly room for my son to play with a few toys on the floor and it's just very cramped. I explained before that we can't live like this, but he said it's just for a little while. Its been 10 months since we moved in and I'm stressing about when the baby comes that we won't even have a place for it's things. My parents said we can move in with them because the room they have is so much bigger and has a walk in closet. Of course my husband won't swallow his pride, he told me our son and I can go stay there, but he doesn't want to. That of course added so much stress to the situation and hurt my feelings because I had to get used to living with my MIL and her lazy husband. I just want advice on how I can bring up the conversation and these issues without sounding like a nagging *****. I'm getting anxious and starting to get nervous about talking to him these days, especially with him starting this new job but I also can't live there anymore, I'm way too stressed. Please help! There is a whole other story about how this family lets their toilets go for almost a month and doesn't clean spilled food or dog piss off the kitchen floor, so if you guys can understand where I'm coming from as far as being so stressed and irritated about him wanting us to raise our family there. I want to scream all this at him but of course I wouldn't, I just want advice on how to explain this to him. |
Question: Was I sexually abused? Posted: 20 May 2015 01:08 PM PDT ... When I was younger, (I'm 17 now) my cousin, who's a female, sexually touched me when I was younger, multiple times and at the time, I didn't know what it was that we were actually doing until a couple months up when it was still happening. I had asked her if we should tell my sister and she looked at me like I was crazy and said no and me being young and stupid I said okay... I feel like she took advantage of me, of this because I didn't grasp the situation she put me in. Looking back at it, I feel like I was in denial trying to think that this didn't happen and I feel like I'm crazy or ****** up as a result... It's harder for me to even think about being intimate with anyone and I close people off sometimes. I literally sat down a couple says ago and the memories kept popping up in my head and I just bursted into tears. Like is it my fault or something? Should I have stopped her? I already have a lot on my plate, so I just need to know... Was this my fault, did she sexually abuse me? I'm not telling my dad, I don't really get a long with him that much. I'm visiting my mom and my sisters over the summer so maybe my mom... I'm just scared I guess. And please no sarcastic answers, this is a rare moment for me to be open and vulnerable, especially to random people. Much love, Bre. |

Question: How can i deal with my rude parents? Posted: 20 May 2015 12:53 PM PDT Hello all, I will make this as short as I can: I start an internship next week with a minor league hockey team near my college. My college is 1.5 hours from home, and I am a communications major. Since January, my aunt had gotten me in contact with people in the communications field that she knows, and I had left campus numerous times throughout the spring semester to meet with these people, but they either decided to go with other candidates, or their internship coordinator did not have the time in his schedule to contact me. Anyways, I went to the communications dept. chair, who recommended this team to me, so I called them and expressed my interest, and managed to secure a phone interview with them, at which they hired me about 5 minutes into it, and said that I start the Tuesday after Memorial Day (next tuesday). I called them yesterday about living arrangements since that was not discussed a lot during the phone interview, and the woman that interviewed me said she would look into getting me into apartments where the players live, and she would get back to me when she knew more. I even called the city's convention and visitors center, and they basically said the same thing, and that they would get in contact with the team as well. My parents, however, are not happy about this at all. That being said, what can I say to my parents when they come home from work, and how can I deal with them until I leave for this internship? Thanks for all help. |

Question: Brother sister argument? Posted: 20 May 2015 12:25 PM PDT I came into the house and my dog was in the way and I tripped over him a little . I kept walking (considering he came into my path , no big deal) my brother start going bananas yelling at me to apoligize to the dog and getting all in my face. Of course I do the same thing back . My step father steps in and tells us to stop arguing . My brother continues to say things under his breath then starts crying . I'm ignoring him and once in a while saying "OKAY" and "Please stop talking to me I don't care" . Eventually he shuts up. Who was in the wrong here ? Did he need to make such a big deal .. My dog knows when we're coming home everyday and he know he should move out of the way. I'm not sure why he got in the way this Time and why my brother went bananas. I'm 17 (female)my brother is 15(male of course) |
Question: How do i convince my mum to let me stay off school? Posted: 20 May 2015 12:16 PM PDT I feel really sick , but since I used to cry wolf all the time they won't let me what do I do |
Question: What do you think of this? Posted: 20 May 2015 12:14 PM PDT Say for example I'm a minor and my stepdad and mom we all live together. Is it appropriate for someone who isn't my biological father to try and flex and intimidate me when I make verbal statements that was in no way sounded agressive or threating just speaking passively. Also, just before it all started, he was talking about how me and my brother we're bums (which we not) so I said it's not my fault your son wears the same outfit everyday and that's when he came out and got into his little stance and tried to flex on me. Mind you we've been through similar scenarios but he does the same thing everytime. |

Question: My mom won't let me go to a therapist? Posted: 20 May 2015 11:57 AM PDT Hi, I have a lot of problems. I have trouble getting over my past, family problems, etc. and I would like to attend therapy. I asked my mom eight times already. She said, "therapy is lazy," "get self-help books," "just see your school counselor," but she also told me she would look. It's been a month and she acts as if I never asked her. I hate her, I don't love her. She doesn't care about me or take me seeiously either, but my dad is a nice parent. I keep asking and every time I ask her, she gets all mad and annoyed. Then she lies and says I have to see a doctor first. Like, I just don't like her and I want to go to therapy but she's being so weird and rude about it. She tells me, "I've been to therapy many, many times and it's helped me so much," and how she had a bad childhood and stuff but she just won't even look for one. I keep asking and she gives me lame, shady responses. What can I do? She treats me like a kid but I'm seventeen... |
Question: What is a cute name for auntie Jackie? Posted: 20 May 2015 11:56 AM PDT |
Question: I'm 16 with a 2 year old son and have no help or no where else to turn, please help? Posted: 20 May 2015 11:54 AM PDT Yes I'm 16 with a kid had him when I was only 13 years old but that is a totally different story . I've heard all the judgment in the world already so don't waste your time doing so. I am not the first and most definitely won't be the last . But anywho , for those who are actually here to help, I'm in the worst situation I have ever been in in my life. Usually I have support and help from family but no longer have that as much, only help I get now is from my sister who barely has any income or food stamps herself . My family is struggling. My mom has a new boyfriend and puts him before anyone and anything. He's living here for free, no job or anything and they only knew each other for about 2 mo. People think I'm exaggerating when I tell them about how horrible my mother is to us. Us as in my two sisters , my brother, and myself. Even her own grandchildren, she shows much hostility towards my son and is always telling him to get away. She pretty much has left us to rot. I love my son and put him first always, I stay in school and I'm looking for a job, but that won't put food in my fridge by tomorrow. It's very hard to find a job with no experience and most places ask you be 18. We are starving there is no food here. I'm a teenager of course I have no money. Her and her boyfriend always have food for themselves not even for the babies. I need help. We ate our last yesterday idk what to do. I'm extremely stressed I don't want my son to go hungry. This is terrible I need help! |
Question: Abusive father help? Posted: 20 May 2015 11:52 AM PDT My Dad got out of prison not too long ago and is still on probation. He's punched holes in my door out of anger, yells/screams a lot. Calls my Mom retarded, dumb, stupid etc. He also threatens me with physical violence because I told him I will defend myself with force if he touches me and that I am not afraid of him. He told me if I ever call 911 he will cut the phone line. I have heard him fight with my Mom, seen/heard him push her down, heard him grab her by the neck and arms. I'm more afraid of my Moms well being than my own and so help me if he ever hits her because it'll be the last thing he does. She doesn't have a job, I only make $4.05/hr+ tips and we can't live without him. What can I do? |
Question: My sister keeps copying me? Posted: 20 May 2015 11:43 AM PDT Okay so this has been going on for a while and I'm kinda annoyed by it. I know usually it's the younger sister copying the older sister, but it's the other way around for me. My older sister is copying me. I'm not putting our ages for privacy but we're 8 years apart. When I was little, like maybe 10; I didn't really have an opinion on anything I just kinda went with the flow, like whatever. There wasn't any specific music I liked, or clothing style, I just wore whatever (i didn't really care at this age) and I barely listened to any music. I'd just play with dolls and stuff. Well, my sister was already out of those phases so she did her own thing. But ever since I grew out of the dolls and stuff, she's been copying me. Now, I have styles and stuff. And, we're complete opposites. She's more into country girl stuff, and I'm more into hipstery girl type stuff. But now every time I express my personality, like the things I like etc. She literally copies it, I said I loved Ed Sheeran's music, and she had never spoke up him until a couple weeks after I said that and now she's like full on obsessed with him! And I recently bought some high waisted shorts, and then she went out and bought some. And I was wearing my combat boots a few months ago and she was like "OMG, I need some like those!" and not only that, she always steals the things I say, and like. I feel like I'm being me, and she's being me. So what do I do? I'm really annoyed with having an exact 'Twin' :( |
Question: Thinking of moving back to TN? Posted: 20 May 2015 11:34 AM PDT So I moved with my mom to NC from TN to get away from problems and drama. I'm now thinking about moving back to TN because I feel that I would be better off and would be able to accomplish more. My relationship with my dad was rocky when I left TN and now my relationship with my mom is very rocky. I do have a job, but I'm afraid that I wont be able to afford my car and insurance, also I would have to get rid of my dog unless I could find someone other than my grandma to move in with. I do currently have a job and go to school online so that shouldn't be a big problem as long as I could get my job transferred. I'm just now sure what I should do. I'm tired of being controlled by my mom and her boyfriend and if I move back to TN I'm afraid that it will go back to the way it was, and the car and dog issue. Please before you tell me that I should get rid of my dog understand that she is my baby it would be like you giving up your child. |

Question: Should I reach out to my Biological Father?? Please Help!? Posted: 20 May 2015 11:10 AM PDT Hi, I would've never thought I would resort to the Yahoo community for support but I can't seem to get my mind straight and need some guidance on a huge personal issue I have. Guidance and suggestions would be much appreciated.... I'm currently 17 years old and live in NYC. My current step dad raised me when I was about a year old and always have and will regard him as my father. I grew up with his side of the family. The memories of my childhood will forever stay in the hands of him and his family. Unfortunately, my mother and him separated about 5 years ago but I still him on a daily basis. As a child, I never thought or knew much of my biological father. All I knew was what my mother told me. Which was he was an asshole, lived in Florida and left me a couple months after my birth. Through the beginning of my teen years I grew more interested and curious to who my father was. I made a Facebook and found my biological father. He lived in Florida, seemingly had a happy, fairly large family with children. Long story short he seemed pretty successful. When I was about 13/14 I took the initiative to message him through Facebook. We talked for about a week, messaging back and forth. I found out I had numerous cousins, grandparents and even a half sister that lived their with him. I saw pictures and even spoke to them through the phone.... CONT. |
Question: Should I feel bad for not lending my brothers money for house down payment? Posted: 20 May 2015 11:00 AM PDT Hi, when the market was really low for houses, my brother wanted me to lend him $3500 dollars for his down payment and I didn't lend him the money. Now I kind of feel bad, because homes have gone incredibly high in our area. But I didn't want to lend him because he always eats out with his wife at fancy restaurants, etc, sort of like $30,000 millionaire, while I sacrifice a lot to save and don't even eat out. He's gone to the beach resorts, etc, while I save my money. I haven't saved much, just 10,000 but somehow my brothers think it's like the lotto. My other brother he sold me his house, so I paid everything, and then he stays in it and says he doesn't have money for the down payment to get another house, so I had to lend him $1500 money for his down payment. And he's the same, he eats out all the time, goes to the beach on vacation. I just don't feel it's fair that I sacrifice and then they want my money, and my other brother hasn't even repaid me back. Did I do right in not lending my 2nd brother money? |
Question: WHY DOES MY ASAIN FAMILY HATES BLACK PEOPLE?!!? Posted: 20 May 2015 10:52 AM PDT They talk **** about them like how they robbed and stole money from Asians! LIES!! It REALLY EFFING PISSES ME OFF EVERY.SINGLE.TIME! They AWAYS use the "I heard it on the news" crap. And when I say "I don't wanna eat rice all day" they go like: oh yeah? Question: I ran aways from home? Posted: 20 May 2015 10:48 AM PDT So I am 14, I know I am young. I didn't plan anything I just grabbed money and a jumper that isn't really that comfortable. My parents called the police. I went out with my friend and told her that I am running away and told her goodbye. I left a message for my mom and dad. It wasn't a nice one really. I told them that I will be back tomorrow. I went out in 18 pm and I came back like 4 am. I didn't plan anything but we had to go to the police station to tell them to not search for me anymore. I feel so bad, the worst part was that mom started blaming me that dad could have lost his job because he works as a some kind of policeman and that the social workers could have taken me away . I know what I did was bad but mom always putted pressure on me, about my grades,I had to work home... And I won't ever run away. I felt so bad, like I was a monster. But why would my mom blame me, my dad told me ''You are gonna tear apart this family'' it hurt so much. My sister doesn't talk to me because I ran away, my parents told me that they have no trust in me anymore. I really don't know what to do And some people think I stole. I didn't steel a jumper, money or anything. It was my money my jumper just saying |
Question: My mom caught me looking at a photo off the internet of my relatives? Posted: 20 May 2015 10:44 AM PDT I'm so embarrassed. I found a random photo of my relatives on the internet of them at a fancy business dinner and I downloaded it to my computer since I miss them and don't have any photos of them. I was showing my mom a shirt I liked on my computer and as I moused over it the photo showed up from my tabs and she saw it. She looked at me like I was crazy. My dad is here visiting and I am so embarrassed. The photo was of my aunt, cousin, and uncle all dressed up at this event standing there with some random people. She saw it on my computer and she already thinks I'm obsessed with them or something. I told my mom I was looking for my aunt's phone number online to call and thank her for the birthday card but I can tell she didn't believe me. They both think I am crazy and weird now. What should I do? |
Posted: 20 May 2015 10:43 AM PDT Like if others put ideas into this child's mind and this child, along with the manipulators, cause issues in every aspect of the parent's life, such as dating, making decisions, etc. Katie, the parent does not even stop the manipulators from having contact with the child. The parent has told me himself that he knows his child is being manipulated. I already know that a parent can't control what other people put in their's mind. The parent does try to discuss these issues, but the situation remains the same. The child along with the manipulators interfere with the parent's dating life to the point where they have issues in the relationship or maybe even breakups. The child is paying attention to everything that goes on with the custodial parent, and then goes back and reports to the three individuals that are negatively influencing her. Two of the individuals that are influencing her are former girlfriends to the parent, and one of them is actually the non-custodial mother. |
Question: Am I just like my mother? Posted: 20 May 2015 10:35 AM PDT Okay, before I was born, my dad left my mom because he was irresponsible and he didn't want the responsibility of taking care of me or my mom. So I was raised by a single parent and I am grateful that I have my mom. Just recently a thought came to me after a conversation my boyfriend and I had, he had said "I love how motherly you are" .. I thought nothing of it until now it got me thinking, is it possible that I'm becoming my mother, or just a lot like her? |
Question: Is my husband right or too controlling? Posted: 20 May 2015 10:35 AM PDT Ystd. we had my sister and his brother over and they announced that she's pregnant. This makes hubby furious; he's already upset finding out recently that they're dating (I know they've been dating since 2012). His objection is b/c my sister is 27 and BIL is only 23. I myself find it ok. I like my BIL (I've known him since he was a kid and he's always a quiet and good-natured boy). They both also have a job. It's true that hubby decides many things for his brother b/c hubby is 12 years older, and since their parents have passed away it was him who put his brother through university etc. My BIL usually just does what hubby says (like about the car he should buy etc.), but my sister is the headstrong one. She's ok too, but she doesn't like the way my hubby takes part in his brother's life (although my hubby does mean well). Ystd. my hubby said things which offended my sister and vice versa. She's calling him control freak and he accused her of playing a younger man etc. It was awkward. My BIL and I are practically in the middle while my hubby and sis are always bickering with each other, and ystd. it was really bad. My hubby thinks that his brother and my sister will blow apart b/c my BIL is too young and that's why he's furious. We're close but with those two always arguing I'm afraid our family ties will be just weakened, and it's such a shame b/c our kids love their aunt and uncle. I wonder if my husband is overreacting, and how to soften him? My sis is obstinate too. |
Question: Thinking about moving back to TN? Posted: 20 May 2015 10:33 AM PDT So in 2011 I moved to Raleigh NC from Knoxville TN with my mom. While living in Raleigh we lived in hotels for about 4 months & then when my mom met a man we moved in with his family in Greenville NC. When my mom got a job & was transferred we moved to Fayetteville NC. Recently she got a new job & we moved back to Greenville NC. I have tried moving back to TN before & it was just 2 much to think about. I was going 2 move in with my grandma but I had 2 have a car which I have it's just that I'm not sure I would be able to afford it. Also moving in with my grandma would require me to get rid of my 5lb dog. I moved away from TN because my dad because he didn't agree with how I was living & we had a very rocky relationship. Recently I went 2 TN and seen my dad & things was ok I'm not sure if it was just 4 show or if it was real. Now my relationship with my mom has became very rocky & I'm just tired of the way things are going with my mom. I feel like I had more freedom with my dad than I do now. A little bit of an insight my mom believe a man over me, & has chosen her man over me, I feel like an ATM, I pay bills and I'm not allowed to have company, my mom's boyfriend says that I hang out with @ many guys, but that's just how I grew up I didn't have any female cousins. He thinks that you can't be just friends with guys if your a girl. My mom wouldn't get 2 work if it wasn't for me because she drives my car. I'm not sure what I should do.. what would you do if you was in my shoes. |
Question: Are there help sites that support kids with disabled parents? Posted: 20 May 2015 10:17 AM PDT I've looked high and low for some sort of support group for kids of disabled parents, but there only seems to be sites that help the parents, or parents with disabled children. It pisses me off, to be honest. I have a parent who won't get help. I need the support just as much if not more than she does as one of her primary care takers. |
Question: I was widowed and have since remarried. How should I address my former in-laws? Posted: 20 May 2015 10:09 AM PDT After 36 yrs., it feels disrespectful not to address them as the "in-laws", while at the same time, feels disrespectful to my new husband and new in-laws by referring to the former as such. I'm stuck in the middle, help!! |
Question: My dad has an issue with me driving and getting a job.? Posted: 20 May 2015 09:59 AM PDT I'm 17 years old and recently got my license (3 months ago). It took much arguing to convince my dad to let me get my license. I need it for my senior year of high school as I am attending beauty school as well as primary school, and need a way of transportation. My older brother gave us his old car for me to use. Unfortunately my dad would not insure it because he claimed it was a backup car. About two weeks ago I was driving my dads car and a piece of asphalt hit the windshield (flew off our lovely Michigan roads) it messed it up pretty bad. Anyway. Since then he's been saying he's canceling our satellite to pay for insurance on my car because he can't afford it. I told him I would get a job to help pay. Keep in mind I WANT TO BE INDEPENDENT... He argued that I should not have a job before I graduate high school. How do I go about this? I need a job, I need to work experience. But I can't according to my dad. |

Question: Why does my mom always mess with my hair when i wake up in the morning? Posted: 20 May 2015 09:22 AM PDT . so this morning when i was make ing my breakfast she walked over to me and started pulling at my hair when i asked her what she was doing she said she was preening my hair and i said i thought only girls do that and she didn't answer so i let her continue because it felt nice. she does this every morning when i get my hair is always puffy and its very staticky and will collect lint from my blankets and pillows. so when my mom sees it she'll walk over and star picking at my hair and she try's to flatten it but it will always spring back up even after i shower it will still be puffy. so im wondering why does she like preening my hair asked her but she never answers? im a 17.5 year old boy and my hair is super puffy and she also loves the cute little tuft of curly hair on the to of my head. And is it normal for a mom to preen her sons hair. oops I messed up on the quest its meant to also say is it normal for a mom to preen her sons hair. |
Question: Getting through to a very stubborn child? Posted: 20 May 2015 09:21 AM PDT My step-son is currently eleven and in sixth grade. In many ways he is an amazing boy and I am thrilled to be his step-dad. He is someone who isnt the slightest bit pretentious. His good qualities are right out there for everyone to see. Same with his...shall we say...less that great qualities. In school he does well in subjects that he likes, but if he doesnt like the subject or something about the way a particular class is ran then he absolutely shuts down and puts up this brick wall that, thus far anyway, his mother and I and biological dad and teachers and grandparents etc just cannot get through. Riding him doesnt work. Offering rewards and making deals doesnt work. Disciplining him doesnt work. Chiding and being constantly on him doesnt work. Im curious if anyone has any ideas on how we can get through? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks. According to my wife he has been this way his whole life. Its not something that started at some point, like, say, when she and his dad separated. |

Question: I am treated like a child EVERYWHERE I go!? Posted: 20 May 2015 08:45 AM PDT I'm always treated like a child everywhere. I'm also 13 years old. For example, at school, I go to a K-8 school, and we still have assemblies, recess, and we gave learning programs that that are mostly child-themed. I'm also treated like a child by my parents. My parents won't let me have a cell phone or social media, go out outside my own street in the neighbourhood, use the computer unsupervised, check up on me when I'm in a PUBLIC BATHROOM (It's really embarrassing), and are basically overprotective. Also, at the track club I run at, I'm more of a slower runner, so I'm always put with annoying little kids that are the same speed as me. I'm ALWAYS treated like a child no matter what. Like, I WANT to grow up and be mature, but for some reason, life won't allow it, and I'm always pushed back down. No wonder why everyone wonders why I'm so immature and irresponsible. I cannot take it anymore!!! WHAT THE HELL DO I DO?!? |
Question: Daughter interrupts me a lot? Posted: 20 May 2015 08:30 AM PDT There is a problem, maybe that's too harsh a term though. I'm the single dad to my daughter, she's 5. The issue here is she is very impatient. There'll be times I'm talking to someone and she'll tug on my shirt and say " Daddy, Daddy, I gotta tell you something." and interrupt whoever is speaking. I've explained to her before that she needs to wait her turn to speak, but she continues to interrupt. I'll be on the phone, she'll interrupt. Good ways to get her more patient? |
Question: Is he my cousin? Can I date him? Posted: 20 May 2015 08:12 AM PDT I recently met my aunt's nephew after ages and we got on really well together and I started liking him Thing is he is my aunt(My uncle's wife)'s nephew and my friends are telling me he is your second cousin, how could you date him? it's gross! I don't get it, my aunt is not blood related to my uncle or me, so how is her sister's son related to me in anyway? the only thing odd is,when we grew up as kids,my mom and his mom were best friends and we used to call each other bro-sis, wear matching clothes etc but that was years back! So is he related to me in anyway other than that weird childhood thing? |

Question: My mum is really nasty and lazy? Posted: 20 May 2015 06:27 AM PDT The laundry takes about 2 weeks to get done she'll take if off the washing line and say for two weeks straight that she will fold and iron it but never does. I take my own washing from the pile that sits on a lounge chair FOR 2 WEEKS. she complains about how the house is a mess, but its all her mess and she blames it on everybody else. She will leave her shoes and socks on the lounge room floor, leave papers all over the dining table; we can't even eat on it. She'll leave food ingredients all over the bench. She will put dishes into the sink, put detergent and water in it then walk off and leave it She says she doesn't have time for cleaning but she gets home from work at 5, we don't even get a decent dinner just deep fried stuff, maybe a few vegetables once a fortnight, or mcdonalds. I can't cook, I'm bad. She finishes cooking the unhealthy dinner (if she cooks at all) and sits on her ipad for 4 hours literally, playing games then goes to bed. She says how messy my room is, when it has like one shirt on the floor and a piece of rubbish on the bedside table when her room is horrid. she favours my youngest brother who's 11 and STILL SLEEPS IN HER BED WITH HER. She always says she loves him out of the blue but never says it me or my other brother. If any of us eat like 2 unhealthy foods we get called greedy pigs. HE will eat about 2 packs of Doritos a day, 5 soft drink cans, like 5 chocolates and mum doesn't care. I even said he's going to get sick from it but she Denys it. |
