So I'm guessing I'm looking forward to another summer of me doing absolutely nothing except sitting at home. I'm so sick and tired of this. One of my friends is going to visit his dad in California all summer and the other works and has a gf. I've tried to ask my friend if I could stay the weekend during the school year but somehow that never happens. |

I figure skating like 3 times a week, but I'm not super serious about it or anything because I can't compete. I have one friend (ok we barely talk, but still) who is a competitive dancer and she goes to a competition every single weekend and always has cool stories and stuff. I don't have any super close friends I can do fun stuff with. One of my friends goes on mini trips with her best friend all the time and it seems so fun. This sounds weird, but like 5 years ago I was in this youth group where we went on retreats like every other weekend and I just remember when we all had to wake up at 5:30 AM and walk in the cold to the dining hall and for some reason it was so much fun. I just feel like I have a super boring life, what do I do? |

Unfortunately, one of them was already friends with a girl that I particularly didn't like. I'll call her Sara. Sara is the stereotypical dramatic, oversensitive, selfie-taking, phone-obsessed white girl. (No, not all white girls are like this. But she is the stereotype.) she asked a guy who has a girlfriend, a guy she hardly knows, to a Sadie Hawkins dance, and when he, predictably, said no, she stopped eating lunch and went on and on for weeks about how heartbroken she was. Also, the five of us (Sara, my three friends, and I) were studying for exams over Skype, and Sara was totally not paying attention, getting off topic, showing us memes on her phone, and periodically talking about how much she was going to fail the exam. Some of my other friends were also having a Skype study session, so when they invited me into it, I said that I was going to study with them so that I could get a different perspective on the material (which I said so as to attempt not to hurt Sara's feelings). Sara flipped out, said that I was "abandoning" her, etc., etc. My other friends kinda tried to soothe her but she kicked me out of the Skype call. Also, four times now, I've been woken up at 7am on weekends when Sara decides to start a group text and text us all with things like "Hey." "You up?" "Anyone there?" etc. OBVIOUSLY I'm not up because I'm not replying so PLEASE stop TEXTING ME AT 7AM. When I finally spoke to her about it, I said, "Hey, could you wait until later to text me? I like to sleep in on the weekends lol :)" (it was a skype msg). She freaked out, said I was being rude and overreacting. Like wth? I am so frustrated with her and hate being her friend, but I can't seem to get rid of her. What do I do? |

Ever since I can remember I've always been that guy that was happy no matter what, but in the past year(s) my life has been turned upside down. I would talk so much in class, and I would be involved with just about everything. The first drastic event that made my self esteem go down so much, was when I was cut in 7th grade for basketball. I thought I was pretty good. All my friends made it. I realized at that point that maybe I just don't fit in. I would start not talking in class, hiding my feelings, and I just felt horrible. Although it was bad, I still felt like I could keep going. I tried out for tennis later that year, and made it. That was fun for me. Start of eigth grade year I kept to myself. I would talk with close friends, but I felt like everyone else got what they were doing, and I did'nt. Fast forwarding to freshman year. I talk to almost no one. I take anti depression pills. I don't go out as much. My close friends, that I've been friends with for a while. Do stuff without me. I cry or break down just about every day. I greeted the table and sat down. My closest friend decided to be interested in other people, so I sort of sat there doing my crossword puzzle. We each said a few words to our respective friends at the table, but that was about that. Looking back, I didn't say more than 10 words to him the whole time! I wanted to say something, but nobody's conversations even had remote relevance to me, and if I tried to say anything, it sounded like I was trying to say something. I just stay at home 90% of the time, and I think not having friends is really staring to get to me. I'm never motivated to do anything anymore, I'm just sad all the time. I really want to make more friends but I don't know where to meet people and most social situations make me really nervous. I don't know what to do. I sent her my condolences once I found out why she was out of touch. The former coworker told me I could try contacting her at the end of the week, but I don't know think I should. We did have plans today but I figured because her grandfather passed away that she wouldn't want to hang out, which is understandable. I really wish she would have contacted me as we did have plans today but maybe I should just leave her alone. I can't go to her house cause I don't know her address since I've never been there. |

Posted: 22 May 2015 02:32 PM PDT i lost my job in a resort over 3 1/2 yrs ago over 2 hip implants and a knee surgery, i took out early retirement money but thats been almost gone now, since then ive lived on jobs that didnt work out. cant get ssi, they wont help me, cant just go and do walk around jobs cause of a bad knee, my hips healed but my knee didnt, so its not like i can go do walk around jobs, ive tried jobs like calling centers but the managers are so mean they make a big deal over petty stuff and then its impossible to keep them, ive been put on leave at one of them, collected unemployment for a while only to lose it taking another job in a market research place that suspended me so i quit, i came there to work, not to get sent home and i was using my savings to pay people for rides since buses didnt go there and for cheap motels, i had even found a place too but couldnt take it cause i couldnt work there. i got fed up of living on nothing and applied for pell grants and got them, i start school on the first, im hoping to get help finding work after studying too, ovr wont help me and neither will club house, my friend will help me but i dont want to put everything on her, i plan on doing the whole school thing, studying, going to class, etc.,, im not just taking them out, i might be able to do this with grants alone since the community college in my area dont charge as much, im bored anyways so i dont mind going to school, so has anyone done this? just wondered |

Basically me and her have been friends for 3 years now, we're both in high school and have just left the last year to start study leave for our exams. She gets very angry by what ever I say that she constantly starts argument with me, with no explanation of why she is actually venting at me even if I say nothing wrong. Now I know sometimes I can be in a mood and say some things which is understandable why she'd start having a go at me but she seriously starts them for no reason. I suffer extreme hip pain which makes me unable to do P.E and my mum take us to school every morning as its on her way to work and she doesnt live far away from my house, So at lunch time at school, I told her that she needs to leave her house earlier because I'm trying to get a doctors appointment about my hip in the morning but won't know if I can get one u till the morning. She said ok. The next morning I texted her to say I won't be coming into school until break because I'm having an X-ray. she flipped and had a go at me because I was 'leaving her' I've heard her say nasty things about me to others.She constantly starts arguments with me.And I don't say anything to her because I don't want trouble especially around exam time. If we don't agree on the same thing she flips at me and has a go at me. Please help I don't know what to do, should I leave her? |

I'm struggling to be happy, and my ex-friend I guess, doesn't get that. So, we used to be best friends. But when I started getting really down, she stopped hanging out with me like she usually did, for being so depressed I guess, and started hanging out with her other friends all the time instead of me, I guess I can't blame her, but for the past week or so, she hasn't said a word to me. So, when she first stopped hanging out with me a little, I started hanging out with other friends. Then she got mad at me for that, and blew up on me one day about how I left HER. I didn't tell her why i was being quiet a first, maybe she thought i was mad at her, but I was dealing with my own issues. And so back to now, Yesterday she told my friend that she wasn't gonna be my friend anymore because of what i did. But I don't know what that is. I messaged her asking, and she read it, and didn't answer. She doesn't get how much she's hurting me, and I don't think she even cares. She has a nice big group of cool friends just like her. And she sees me alone, and I know it makes her happy, to know that she won. She knows what I struggle with at home, but I guess she doesn't realize that it's gotten to depression. I really don't know what I did, besides hang out with other friends for a few days, before she left me entirely. What should I do, or how can I just forget about her? |

I see people who are social and i just do not understand. All they do is laugh at things that are not funny and in return their stupid friends do the same. And why are people so intolerant with different ideas? I am a republican (and right now you just judged me and hate or like me for it) without even knowing me. I am in a poor family. NO phone to even pretend to be social. Never a pair of shoes or cloths not from the good whale. Computer I stole from a social bully who would kick my seat and chair behind me in class. No good personality (at least i don't fake laugh at stupid comments or topics such as the famous "penis" i keep hearing in school. I was raped in Kindergarten. And I believe i am mentally insane but yet somehow a step above everyone in my school knowing what the outcomes will be of people and yes even the people who judged and hate me right now for being a republican because you like Obama because of lies. If he was so great he would give my poor (white) family welfare like he does the blacks (again i tricked you after you read that you judg and hated me even though you never even been in a black school to get beaten up for lunch money and or been ridiculed until high school). So yea. I feel like everyone who has not had it rely bad doesn't have core values or the mental power to think on the same level then a person who has been tested threw all the life experiences. so yeah.am i right? |

He wanted me to go to a "meeting" with him, and again I had no idea what he was talking about. He wanted me to "help" him, I thought he meant with his classwork or something. He would like talk in code that I did not know what he meant, and then get mad at me, like I was supposed to know what he was talking about. He acted like the whole world revolved around him. He was sort of annoying. Anyway have you known any of these people? Also, he went to Narcanon which is a group associated with Scientology, which some people consider a dangerous group. Do you think this has anything to do with it? How is it my responsibility to learn about his "recovery?" I have my own problems and it was sort of annoying. Well now everyone saw the pic and they screenshotted it. So at school there are tons of rumors going around about the pic and all the boys in my grade think I'm lesbian now. Now this is the really bad part, somehow my teachers found out that my Bestfriend and I kissed (FOR A BESTFRIEND PIC) and so my teacher literally said to me today "did you and mckayla have fun on Friday" (which is when the party was). And he was saying it in a rude way because he knows we kissed. So I literally was so mad and sad I went to the bathroom and cried. Do you know what my teacher did about it? He laughed at me. That is sad. I really want to move schools next year because I can't live with this anymore. |

In 7 months Josh has lost both his parents, got his heartbroken, and got kicked off the football team. Josh's parents were killed kin an accident and his gf/football team didn't want to put up with his emotions afterwards. Three days ago Josh tried to commit suicide. His 14 year old brother caught him and called me. His step dad has been trying to find a therapist and me and his brother have been trying to comfort me. He barely eats anything and he's getting realty sick. He just cries and sleeps all day. We don't know what to do? Except for a therapist and church what can his brother and I do to comfort him? |

I feel terrible but I don't know what to do to comfort her. 2 of my friends both self harmed for a year or two and two different friends also tried to commit suicide. They all have depression, and I don't. I don't know how to relate to any of them ( there are 5 and they are for the most part NOT friends with each other ) and so I think I need help. I want to reach out to them and tell them I'm there but I don't know how. I feel so bad, please help? |

It's caused many of my friends to tell me that I've become a rude & mean person, and also caused my family to constantly make remarks on how rude I am towards people. I try to be nice, like I really genuinely try, but I just can't seem to do it. I also become angry or annoyed at everything which of course doesn't help. I still do things such as helping people out when they're in need, complimenting, asking if people are okay etc but the rest of the time I'm just horrible to my friends and family and its making both myself and other people hate me. Can anybody tell me how to be nice, and not constantly rude and angry towards people?? I've tried copying people but I feel like, well, that I'm copying them and not being myself.
