The wedding is approaching, we are on a tight budget. So spending 600$ on a wedding cake is out of the question. The wedding is going to be about 60 people tops. All I want is 2 tiers 6" on top of a 10" round cake, simple chocolate, simple white frosting with gold editable beading. Anyone know the cost for something so simple?

So my friend's bridal shower is next weekend and as the guest book we are having everyone sign a painted wooden letter. Beside the letter, I wanted to put a chalkboard that says something like "Welcome! Please sign Megan's letter." But I don't really want to put that exactly. What else can I say?

I recently got engaged and plan to ask my wedding party gals over the next month. My mom called and casually asked who my maid of honor was. I told her that it will be my only sister and best friend. I'll have 3 other bridesmaids. I love them both equally and want to honor them in my wedding. My best friend is getting married in 3 months so by the time I get married she will be a matron of honor. My mother thinks it's wrong of me to call her my matron of honor and that she should be called a maid like my sister. She said people will think my best friend is the more important one. Wtf? I want to call her by her title because that is like me trying to say her martial status doesn't matter and I think that's poor etiquette. Any advice?

So one of my best friends of 6 years is getting married this June..(were 22) I was so upset when she announced who her maid of honor was considering the fact that the maid of honor is her now to be husband's ex girlfriend. However I was able to put that behind and support her and of course be a good friend. Her and the fiance couldnt afford the wedding so I have helped her pay for it .. But just last week she told all of the bridesmaids she wanted us to pay for our own dresses I did not have a problem with it until I seen how expensive the dress was 1000$ including assccories and its in China so imagine how much shipping will be ?!? I had found out from the maid of honor that her dress was being paid for by my best friend so I thought why not ask if she could do the same for me? At the bridal shower I pulled her aside and asked as she began yelling at me and saying that I wasn't special? I'm really upset about this situation.. I have emptyed my bank accounts just to help pay for her wedding?!? I actually spent more on her wedding then she did herself I feel used... We got in a big fight my other best friend texted me and told me to call her and say sorry but I don't feel I did anything wrong ? Should I apologize?

My husband and I got married August of 2014, this year is our first wedding anniversary and we would like to have a dinner party in our home for our families. SN: my family did not come to the wedding at all but decided to go on vacation so I would like to have them here for our anniversary. We don't want any gifts, and as we got married in our home shortly after we moved in to it, we want to celebrate in our home. How should we go about planning and executing an anniversary party, and do you think its a good idea to invite my fily to celebrate wirth us even though certain members have made it quite evident that they don't believe I should be married?

I'm having an engagement party in June. In my culture, we do it bigger than most American weddings. The venue I booked has this beautiful exposed brick wall behind the head table. The ceilings are 2 stories high with gorgeous chandeliers and rustic wood tables. I want to put some sort of backdrop to make the head table stand out, but I need to do it on a budget, and I don't want to completely drape the wall to hide the brick. Any DIY ideas?

I recently got engaged and my fiancé and I live in Michigan but I am originally from Florida where most of my family still lives. With that being said, we are looking for a location in either Florida or Michigan. It needs to be outdoors with a gorgeous view of some sort of body of water, whether it be a lake, ocean, river, etc. I d like to stay away from extremely expensive/generic wedding venues. Does anyone have any location suggestions that meet this criteria? We haven t set a date yet so availability/time frame is flexible. Forgot to mention the location needs to be private. Willing to travel anywhere within the two states, including the U.P. in Michigan and Keys in FL. Florida guests coming from Cocoa Beach area, Michigan guests mostly in Ann Arbor. Guest count approx 100-150.

We had a HUGE fight. We both did and said things we both don't mean. I told him to get out we are through. He is now staying at his friends house next door (we own the house together, all his stuff is here) and he has not communicated with me even though I have sent him some texts. Finally, 2 days ago I broke down and texted him apologized, told him I missed him and how I feel. That night, he responded by text asking if I want to go slee outside under the full moon. I didn't see the text til 2 hours later. He was already in bed. I texted back, Yes, sorry, I just saw this and went next door and called him. Phone rang twice and hung up. I left a message. Went back home. The next day in the morning I texted that I was disappointed I missed him text and I hope he has a good day. NO response. That evening I texted that I was going for a walk at the park and he can meet there if he wants to join me. Nothing. After contacting about the full moon, why is he NOW not talking to me BTW - it has been 2 weeks since we last spoke. I did go there once to speak face to face. He said "What do you want, leave me alone I am working" and went and hid in the garage and closed the door.

I'm not getting married or pregnant yet, I'm just asking this question out of curiosity for when I do. I know bridal showers and baby showers are supposed to be throw by other people, not yourself, but what if no one throws me one? Can I throw myself one? I really would like to have a bridal and baby shower when those times come. (Anyone who's wondering, I didn't know what category to put this in so I just left it on the suggested one)
