im 15, female. she turned 15 today and shes having a quinceanera that's actually going on right now. shes actually my next door neighbor. I don't celebrate it im actually Asian so I don't know much on this. I bought her a gift already but im not sure what to wear? or what to do there since im kind of new in this neighborhood, I don't know a lot of people so itd be awkward. what do I do there since I have social anxiety? itd be weird to just stand around while everyone else knows each other...

Whenever I'm introduced to a new group of people, I'll say hey and they'll say hey and then I'm just kinda quiet unless they ask my stuff. I hate this so much but I really don't know what to say! Even if they are talking about something that I know about or am interested in and I'll have something to say in my head but I can't get it out. If there's a lull and I do have something to say I won't say it cause I'm afraid someone louder will talk at the same time as me and I'll just have to awkwardly shrink away and let them talk. If I've been with them for a while I can sorta "come out of my shell" but sometimes that doesn't happen and I really hate myself for it. On a side note, I've self-diagnosed myself as socially anxious and I kind of want to be formally diagnosed so I can be put on meds or something cause sometimes I'll stay in instead of going to a sleepover or a friends house to avoid awkward confrontation with their parents, or if it's so crippling I'll do anything to skip school if theres a group thing or class activity going on the next day. Also the fact that I'm gonna be a freshman this fall means I'm gonna have to expand my friend group and I'm terrified. Does anyone know of some things I could do to help?

Okay so in my neighborhood it s a bunch of us and we ve known each other since kindergarten and now we re in high school. This one kid (S) has had a history of going crazy and doing wild things, so one day he asks for my phone saying he s gonna call his mom but he actually calls the some boys from my school that he doesn t like and challenges them to a fight. Dumb Right? but they show up and he loses then he blames me and tells everyone in the neighborhood that it s my fault and they all believe HIM! I had nothing to do with it, he s the one that challenged them and now even their parents don t want them around me or like me. We talked it out though and got the story straight and they think everythings good again but to me, it REALLY isn t. I still feel angry as ever over what happened It just bothers me that the place where I live is some crap and the person that caused everyone to hate me has been my friend for years and the fact they all think its my fault and I ve done nothing but help people in the neighborhood and people don t know what really happened yet they all blame me. I wish this never happened because it s ruining me. Obviously those aren t my real friends and I m probably better off without them since they talk about me behind my back anyways but it s tearing me apart and there s nothing I can do about it. Can someone please help I need it more than anything.

Girls will ask me to go out one day and not talk to me the other day even though we had a nice time? I feel like crying most of the time

So my friend has told me for the past year in high school that he is working to achieve valedictorian in high school. I've been best friends with him since 1st grade and we are both going into 9th grade. He took algebra 2 online and got certified in microsoft office to achieve his goal. I never told him, but I took too classes online over the summer. I completed an english course and I am in progress of completing a history class. I am afraid that he will be mad at me when he finds out because he will think I'm trying to compete with him. I took the classes not because I am really wanted valedictorian, (even though it would be cool but I won't stress over it). I took the classes so I could take spanish at school and orchestra, which are too classes I love. The teachers for english and history were also very bad according to rumors and a lot of people got c's or lower. Taking the classes over summer allowed me to get a's in both. I am just worried that it could tear our friendship since he is so competitive when it comes to education. When I told him that someone else was taking an online class, he got worried, so I am afraid that he will get mad at me. Is there a way I can maintain my online classes as a secret? We talk about our teachers at school sometimes so it may be hard to keep it from him. I just don't want to ruin my opportunities by telling him.

I'm 16, my mom & her friends (elana & Dona) instruct Zumba everyday for about a year. We have a very close family bond. I'm really close with Dona, she's always supported me through everything, celebrated my birthday with me & home coming,. I love her alot, she's always so sweet & loving to me. Hi so I've been friends with someone for 5 years and we used to hang out a lot, talk to each other every day even work together,but the problem is she only does this until someone better comes along, so if she finds a new friend she quits talking to me then pretends like we're best friends and nothing happened the next time we meet. I've told her this countless times yet she brushed me off saying I'm overthinking things. Recently we got different jobs and I know we won't be able to hang out as much given our different schedules but she just quit being there for me altogether. We haven't talked for months now and she never asks me to hang out with her anymore ever since she made new friends and found herself a guy. Whenever I ask her she lies and says she doesn't go out anymore because she's too busy working yet she posts photos of her with her new friends on facebook. The last we talked she insulted me by calling me not normal and that I'm crazy and it really hit a nerve after all the things I did for her. I have always been there for her and never did or say anything behind her back. Now we're organising a reunion and of course we'll both be there and I don't know how to tackle it. Should I even go? I hate confrontation and fighting but at the same time I don't want to pretend like we're best friends like she does, I'm really upset over her insulting me and the fact that she never talks to me anymore or asks to hang out because she's got new friends. I'll be a junior and i don't like my friends anymore. I'v known them all since elementary and were all close its just I don't like hanging out with them and I feel annoyed around them. Me and this guy named Tom were supposedly friends. We worked together on the same team at this finance company for the past year. We were having issues on the business side of things the past few months. Tom said I can't work with you anymore Ryan. I am still at the same company as Tom just recently moved to a new team. Tom took a vacation from work at the finance company right after telling me in a very brief phone call that we can't work together on the same team. He hasn't been in the office for 5 weeks. I called Tom to ask where we stand and if we are still friends or what. He wasn't answering my calls or text messages for the last few weeks that he was on vacation from work from the finance company. This is the first time that I have ever showed up somewhere unannounced. Anyways I showed up at his family restaurant unannounced and Tom says to me right when I pulled into the parking lot I feel like I am being harassed right now and I am borderline going to call the cops. Then I said to Tom while sitting in the car, that I just came to hash things out face to face. Tom said we can't work together than I said so are we not friends. Tom said if that's what you want me to say. Then I got out of the car and Tom said I don't have time to talk my family is yelling at me to go pick up supplies for the restaurant. I then told Tom that he never explained to me how things were going to be. Tom then apologized to me for not explaining things and calmed down. Me and Tom spoke for like 30 minutes while standing in the parking lot. Tom said we just need to separate our teams from a business aspect. Tom asked me who would I liked to be work with in the company. Then Tom says I will find you a new team. The conversation took a pause and I stood their 1ft away from him and just stared at Tom in silence. Then Tom put his arms up motioning for me to go give him a hug Tom then asked me if I would like a bottle of water. I said sure and he went into the restaurant and brought me out a cold bottle of water. Then Tom says I will still invite you out to family events like my birthday party, Christmas parties etc and then Tom said we will definitely go get dinner and a beer together just not right now at this very moment. Then Tom gave me a side hug and Tom said are we good? That happen at the very end of the 30 minute conversation in the parking lot. Tom claimed the reason we couldn't work together anymore was because he needed to see instant results on the team and I wasn't providing that so he wants me on another team. Okay so me and my best friend werent getting along with some other friends we had because we thought they were trying to break us apart. I talked to them (over text) and they said they were sorry that i thought that and that they werent trying to break us apart. I told my bestie and she immediately got mad at me because she thought i started more drama. (she was actually with me before and agreed to tell them) I told her that they had a right to know and that it was setttled and we could become friends again. She got mad and said i shouldve told them face to face (which maybe i should have, but would it really make a difference because I was going to talk to them also when I saw them next) I kinda thought she was overreacting and decided to let it go but then she started acting like it was just me who called them insults behind their back sand ignored them when they tried to talk to us. I confronted her and she left. I dont know what to do, this is my first fight with her and its been 2 years. I literally cried for an hour. I m not good at solving problems

The only person she truly likes is me, she Facebooks me every day and she'll only complain about how annoying her brothers are. A while ago I sort of lost touch with my old best friend and started to dislike her slightly. I just never felt the need to interact and socialize with my peers at school. I feel as if I don't care if they're there or not. I'm there to learn in school, not to make any friends. I have a few friends outside of school that I have made, but I never once made any within school grounds. I've never been a good social butterfly when it comes to social events. I'm not unhappy with being a loner, I've been this way my entire life. My parents aren't always necessarily supportive over my decision coming down to this. I guess you could say I've had social anxiety often times with social interactions. I've never been very comfortable being around people and going to parties. Even when I was younger I felt this way about people. My question to you guys is, do you think this is a normal opinion to think or is it a bit odd or uncommon?

So a few months ago I became friends with this girl. She's hilarious, fun to be around, and I really enjoy being her friend. The only problem is she's been causing me to not be myself and to treat others poorly. Normally I would be very nice to people, but from the peer pressure I have been acting like someone I'm not. Yesterday my sister posted a horrible picture of me with her on facebook and i really didnt want her to because my crush has her facebook... After a long fight she finally took it off thanx to my dad. Today, everythin was fine, we were happy, until i went on her phone and i find out she was saying the most horrible things about me to her friends on viber, she said i was a ***** and she really meant it. My best friend is a guy, no romance ever involved. His son is 10 days younger than my daughter, they are both 13. He told me today that they are having a problem with his personal hygiene, that it was no big deal when he was younger but now that he is 13 it's becoming an issue. Few weeks ago, guy said "my wife works at....". Then recently, he said he will go on a trip with "my daughter, her mom...". Why would he say "her mom" instead of "my wife"?

I met this girl at work driving buses. Whenever she passes me going the other way she waves, usually she sees me first. Few weeks ago she was parked at a bus stop and I was coming towards her and as I checked my right mirror I noticed her waving at me, but in a slow way with a soft look at me. Also on that day when overtaking my bus she looked back and waved at me. A couple of weeks ago we met at the bus terminal on the way to the toilet and she started a conversation with me. She would then talk about her getting into trouble for speeding by management. We were talking for about 5 mins. She said she was running late and needed to use the toilet and had better go. I left to go outside and she then came out after using the toilet and on passing me to get into her bus said she had bad hay fever, again as if initiating something So few days later she was coming towards me on her bus and she pushed her hair up but acted like she didn't see me and ignored me. So couple of weeks ago we both pulled up at bus stops on other side of the road from each other and she looked behind over her shoulder at me and waved. I looked at her but ignored her. So she waved again and again I kept looking but ignored her. She then looked puzzled and waved again and I smile laughed because she kept trying and she then had a little smile and drove off. She's just come back from holiday and when she saw me today she done a circular wave, like enthusiastically, and 2nd time she waved with big smile

We went to the same elementary school, same middle school, and now we are in the same high school about to be 12th graders. I feel like I am the only person with a friendship this long.

My co-worker/friend talked about this city that's 35 minutes away, that I used to live in. I talked about how great it was when I lived there. Then he goes: "So do you still go back a lot?" In the summer of 2010 I took a summer school psychology class at the local community college with my fraternal twin brother. We are pretty reserved, so we sat in the back near the window and didn't really talk to anyone. With a class of 25 students, nobody seemingly noticed me. That was the only class I took there... fast forward to June 2015 and I'm working at an ice cream shop when my teacher from that class walks in! Doubting she would remember me, I didn't say anything... yet about 15 minutes later I see her sitting outsid with her family talking to my boss, who knows I had her as a teacher. She then walks in and says, "I thought I remembered you! You have a twin right? etc etc" How on earth did a teacher, who has hundreds of students per year, remember me from an 8 week class five years ago??? Especially when I never talked or anything! I'm just a regular looking guy... not to boast at all, but I have been told I'm good looking most of my life, but still how 5 years is a long time!

One day my friend and I we re talking on the phone and she asked me if I ever just didn t want to eat at all. And then a few days later we went to the mall. Her mom offered to buy us food when we we re about to leave. And my friend said that she wasn t hungry. Then her mom said are you sure you haven t ate anything all day. And then my friend said yeah I m fine. So I m really worried about her and I don t know what to do. I noticed that while we we re at the mall she kept staring at the maniqunes things because they are really skinny and stuff.

I made a new friend two months ago, but naturally the more I know him, the more I see... less desirable traits. Other mutual friends also notice it. He's overbearing with his opinions. It's FINE when anyone disagrees on "Who's Hot"/Tastes, but this guy makes us feel judged, and acts like his opinion is "right"! He needs to realize: It's OK we have different tastes! Geez. I have three friends and we've all known each other for five years. I'm the oldest out of the four of us and about 2-3 years ago, my friendship with our youngest friend became really awkward. When we were younger, I used to do a lot of pranks and stuff like that. I was kind of immature and actually all three of them got annoyed. The youngest friend still thinks I do that stuff even though I do NOT ! Well, I don't know what happened, but she started to be embarrassed by me. We never talk anymore and my two other friends know that. If it does happen that I talk to the youngest friend, it's like once every few months and it's so awkward when we hang out. We avoid each other on purpose. When we do hang out because we're forced to, my other friends are like, "OMG! They're actually talking!" because they know we practically hate each other now. When the four of us are doing something all together, I'm forced to hang out with someone who hates me, I don't want to keep this awkward/weird friendship. We used to be better friends a long time ago but I really don't want to waste my time being friends with someone who thinks I'm weird/immature/avoids me on purpose. Last year at my friend's b-day, she talked to a bunch of random people just to avoid me and when there was only one seat left and it was next to me she literally switched seats with someone else which I found very rude. How can I get rid of this awkwardness? My two other friends say she always talks behind my back about how 'embarrassing' I am. I find that weird because I haven't done anything immature for three years. I'm 16 now and my two other friends are 15, the awkward one is only 14. She's really good friends with my two other friends but treats me like an idiot. We only hang out when the four of us have to but I want to make my friends understand I do NOT want to be friends with her anymore. I just said I want to get rid of her, not continue being friends. I am asking how to END the entire 'friendship' because it's awkward.

I have two kids a daughter 14, and son 9. Yesterday my daughter was watching her favorite show Suburgatory and main family's oldest daughter played by Allie Grant convinced her little sister she was adopted by teasing her. The little sister was freaked out for the whole episode because she's convinced she's only one in family who has blue eyes and their for must be adopted. In the end Allie Grant's character never got in trouble, and thought poor kid, but my daughter thinks this was hilarious. Suburgatory is a great show with some smart writing, but what kind of lesson is this supposed to teach my daughter? Why didn't Allie Grant's character get in trouble? Now she might try this on her little brother. With clueless parents it's no wonder the little sister felt unloved, and her sister had the upper hand.

Without causing our friendship to suffer. Most of my friends are almost married, my friend is about to propose, his girlfriend is wanting kids and I don't have any major relationship or career ahead of me.....yet, if I remain in my town I will be alone, if I move away to the city, I will have a chance at least to connect with someone and I will be less bored as the city has lots of things to offer in career and hobbies I don't fancy being the "single friend everyone can turn to for a quick break from reality" as I have seen happen to others in my town, I refuse to be that guy.

I'm 16, my mom & her friends (elana & Dona) instruct Zumba everyday for about a year. We have a very close family bond. I'm really close with Dona, she's always supported me through everything, celebrated my birthday with me & home coming,. I love her alot, she's always so sweet & loving to me. Recently Dona got frustrated bc she couldn't get the dance moves as quick as mom & elana; she got mad at elana, Dona feels she doesn't deserve to be on stage. She hasn't come to Zumba in 3 weeks, she's over exaggerating everything, we love her so much & have tried everything to get her back. She hasn't been acting herself for a while & no one knows why.. 4 days ago I texted her "just wanted to say I love & miss you so much Dona! Been thinking about you lately, I hope your doing great!" She put "aww love you & miss you too!😘😘😘" (I know she means it because she's a very serious, reserved lady who Is very straight up!) today she wasn't on my Facebook anymore, turns out she blocked me, mom & Elena. Why'd she block me??? She even got her son to block me & it hurt so much.. I cried to mom about it, mom said she's probably going through something & doesn't know how to handle it maturely. Why would she block me? I didn't do anything :( I really wanna text her 1 last time saying "I hope your having a great day Dona! Love & miss you so much!" (I always used to wish her a great day randomly) should I? I miss her & it really makes me sick..

Well it happened back in May I brought my friend over to my grandmothers house because there was more stuff to do over there and my friend had a Seizure & her parents got mad at me & then I got mad at my friend for getting me in trouble & I told her I didn t want to see her at a fair and she told the teachers & got me suspended for a week & we couldn t be friends anymore now 3 months later we apologize to each other because what we both did was immature and stupid & we want to hang out with each other but... her parents won t let us still my friend ask her mom and she said Probably when we go back to school But we really want to like over the summer What should I do for her parents to Forgive Me?

I have two best friends for years. One is not my cup of tea but we still manage to stay friends. Start of summer, I call every other day to ask to hang out. No one answers their phones and would call a week later. One wouldn't even call just send a text saying that she got my call. I start to do my own thing. One would call every now and again. They even went to the park without me during the summer. When I've been asking.The end of the summer, I ask one of them to go play pool , she says yes and then the day of cancels. I'm starting to get annoyed and I've even stopped taking phone calls from one of them. I'm thinking that they talk about me when i'm not around and go places without me on purpose. Do you have friends who do this and would you try to continue to make plans? I'm thinking of asking one last time before school starts because I won't be waiting on them at school like I use to.

when I was in Elementary school I didn't really have a lot of friends because I had a learning disabilitie. im good looking and stuff but I was kinda slow in school. soo throu High School I talked to some popular people but ONLY at school. and then Friends who were close to me were people who were not popular...they were kinda losers as well. I don't understand why I can't make friends anywhere i go...only losers want to be my friends.....I feel like im gonna be lonely until I die.

I m the one person people always vents to but when I vent no one wants to hear it and I rarely complain and I have a lot to complain about but I d rather burry it in the back of my mind and not think about it. I have a idgf personality so people can t do much to make me angry unless they are trying,I m not sensitive but I m not a hard butt I cry sometimes. My mother always ask me about getting my dad to do something for me when I ve told her on several occasions I was limiting my interactions with him because I don t chase people (it got embarassing and I started doing it in romantic world,literally had to tell people to tell him to call me and he doesn t work on weekends), but if I ask her a simple question like "are you going to work today." And she get mad and acts like a nut and I think she has a mental illness. I love her ,she honestly my best friend but she can be mean to me nasty even, I had that problem with people in life though so it s a Givin I know it s me people don t like me and I don t blame them, I mean I don t know i guess it s something about me.
