Question: Is it rude to ask why you were not invited to a wedding? Posted: 07 Apr 2015 08:16 PM PDT I have a friend getting married and just found out I was not invited. We had been close for many years but in the past 2 years only get to see each other a few times a year. No rift, just life getting in the way. When she got engaged she contacted me asking for venue recommendations and when she finally booked told me the venue and date. This was all less than 1 year ago and I now find out I m not invited and am hurt and confused. I know space can be an issue and wedding planning is stressful so I don't want to be a nag but I am very hurt and confused. |

Posted: 07 Apr 2015 05:39 PM PDT I am getting married in Bay Shore, NY. I have limos bringing the groomsmen/bridesmaids and immediate family to the hall from Rockville Centre, NY. After the wedding a shuttle bus is bringing guests to a hotel in Hauppauge, NY for the after party and for guests to have somewhere to stay. I am wondering what I should do the morning after the wedding, am I responsible for getting guests home on another shuttle bus or should I expect that they can call cabs/uber or make other arrangements? We are trying to be frugal but I am thinking it may be necessary to rent a 20-30 person shuttle back to Rockville Centre. Are there any other options? |

Question: The girl I like is engaged and I am so upset and angry? I cannot stand it? Posted: 07 Apr 2015 01:10 PM PDT there is this tutor I worked with in my community college for my math class. My class ended but I attend a university now but she is there too. (which I already knew but I didn't know she was there when I was) She saw me one day and she came up and chatted with me. I still see her on campus sometimes and we chat. She is about 28 and I am 22. I realize I have a big crush on her and think about her a lot, but I have zero chance with her because she is engaged to be married already and she is older. But despite that I have developed some kind of obsession with her. I think about her all the time and the last time we spoke I secretly switched the recorder on my phone on and recorded the entire conversation, and I listen to it over and over honestly, I can't stand that she is with another guy, whenever I see that ring on her finger I want to grab it and smash it to a million pieces. I also like to take a piece of paper and cut it up pretending it is her fiance, and I do imagine hurting him badly or even killing him, I know it is wrong but I can't help myself. I can't stand it, No I can't let her be with another guy, I want to kill him. The only reason I won't is because it is illegal and I will get arrested if I do is this a problem I should tell someone about, or will I get over it soon? This girl is also rather touchy feely, always patting me on the back or shoulder or side. I wonder why. also, she was my tutor but I still see her around and we chat. She was the one that initiated the first conversation when she saw me, I never initiate conversations with anyone let alone girls |
Question: Can a bridesmaid give a personal shower gift to the bride in addition to the group gift? Posted: 07 Apr 2015 12:58 PM PDT I am one of 10 bridesmaids. The bridal shower is this Saturday and I had gotten the bride (my boyfriend's brother's fiancé) a personalized candle holder that I know she would go nuts for. All of us in the bridal party have already all chipped in for a giant pots and pans set from her registry as a group gift. Is it okay for me to give this small gift as well? It's not off her registry and I have no idea if any of the other bridesmaids are giving an additional gift. Help! |
Question: How long should my veil be? Posted: 07 Apr 2015 12:44 PM PDT We're having a '20s wedding And I'm having my dress made. It has a train, lace overlay, and draped pearl detailing on the back and shoulders/arms. I want a Juliette cap veil but I don't know what length to go with or if I should just do the cap without the veil. |

Question: What does it all mean?? Adults only plz? Posted: 07 Apr 2015 12:40 PM PDT My boyfriend of 3 years and I broke up eight months ago. And after a few months of no contact, we started to talk again. Very little at first. A coffee here or there. During the holidays he offered me something in his place since he was doing renovations and knew I could use it. He came over and installed it and found a bunch of other things around my place to fix. Even came back to fix my sink with the right parts. Over New Years and Christmas he reached out to wish me happy holidays and we even got together on New Year's Day to watch movies. Since then we've gone for dinners, been to a few events, and had a couple of lazy nights together watching movies and TV. He was in touch with me while I was on vacation in the winter and when he had surgery, I picked him up and took care of him for the following three days. We broke up a year ago but it only lasted a few months before he came back. That time I was very adamant that we were meant to be and spoke to him about my feelings very openly. This time, I wrote him off and did the complete opposite. He's really bad at speaking about his feelings and confrontation. He's more likely to run away from an uncomfortable issue and hope it resolves itself than to face it head on. He has said that he's "not sure" Ours is the longest&closest relationship he's ever had 1. Does he just want to be friends? Why is he keeping me around? 2. Should I open up and talk to him about my feelings? |

Question: Fiance not excited for wedding? Posted: 07 Apr 2015 12:21 PM PDT My fiance proposed to me a few months ago.We have been dating for the past 4 years and living together for the past 3 years. We always discussed weddings in the past and he always said "we have to have a wedding for the family". At the time, I didn't really want a big wedding, if any at all. Anyways, so once he proposed I start planning the wedding, which was initially what HE wanted. During the planning I actually started to get excited about it all. I want a small wedding, about 50 people. During all this planning, as I am realizing that this is something I want, my fiance decides he wants to elope or have a destination wedding, which to me are out of the question. I have no parents, 2 grandparents, & cannot ask them ( 80 y.o) to travel, my grandfather is like a father to me & I find it really important he walks me down the aisle. When I mention the wedding my fiance seems just "blah". Granted he does not show excitement about much in general but it really hurts my feelings. He gets annoyed when I talk about it and says how we're just doing what I want, even though it started for him. I don't know what to do. I feel like I have to tip toe around when discussing it. I don't actually need his help with planning, I just wish he was excited about the marriage, IDC about the planning. He has also said "the honeymoon is the only thing I am exited about it", but doesn't show excitement. He has only told one of his friends but he doesn't share his personal life even with them. I understand that he doesn't want the wedding, but we started this all because he did, he was always the one that was much more "lets get married". Or, sometimes he says "Lets just have a big one or elope", while I want small and don't want ppl I don't know. The wedding went from 50 to 80 already. Initially when everyone asked a million Q's I think he was overwhelmed but I Said I would handle it but he still just shuts down. He said "I don't care about seeing you walk down the aisle". He states, "I don't care about the wedding, it is not important". He just wants to BE married. That is the thing, he wants one, yet he doesn't. I cannot and refuse a destination because I would have no family and am not burdening my 80 y.o grandfather with that. If I did elope, I would forever regret my decision and would end up resenting my FH. He wanted wedding, I did it. He changes his mind, I can't change mine now, my grandpa/grandma were ECSTATIC since I am 1st grandchild to be married. |
Question: Should groomsmen pay for $450 suit for wedding? Posted: 07 Apr 2015 07:14 AM PDT I already have to fly across the country and so do the other groomsmen and pay for a hotel for a week and eating out, and the groom say I either pay for the suit or I'm not allowed to be part of the wedding party. Is this fair?? The groom didn't even discuss this before hand and I only found out at the store. |
