Posted: 14 Apr 2015 04:48 PM PDT I'm a young woman 25 I have social anxiety and I'm pretty shyand someone I care a lot about and look up to (OLder woman 60) lately the past couple months she has made a couple comments about me being quiet and not talking much, once she said when she was talking to my son she was telling him to use his words and then said "like I tell mommy use her words" and I don't think she's trying to hurt me but it does really hurt bad and today I haven't seen her for about a month and she asked how I was and I was like alright and then she just kind of looked at me SMILING said what's going on and I was thinking and she just stared at me like I needed to answer right away and it was just a few seconds and she sAid TALK! loudLy and it really hurt and made me feel really bad I was going to but sometimes it takes me a minute or so to think on what to say and organize my brain so I'm just wondering what should I say when she makes those comments cuz it really hurts me and now I honestly don't want to go see her no more which hurts because she's the first person I've looked up to |

Here is a list: 1. Never had the "talk". They know that I know about those stuff but they still skip the touching/kissing scenes whenever we watch movies together. 2. They generalize and stereotype everything. I have a feeling that when me and her are alone they will think that we are gonna have sex. They also think that high school is categorized into groups like nerds, jocks, etc. Since I never tell them about my personal life, they think I'm anti-social. They tell m to be more social. 3. They want to know everything! If I hang out with someone they ask me everything, EVERY SINGLE THING! like what are you talking about? why isn't he your friend? And especially...what were you talking about to HER. They want to know everything, and I'm not comfy with that. 4. my mom tries to go through my brothers texts but he is smart and disguises them . once she found out him communicating to a girl and she got angry 5. My mom watches a bunch of old drama relationship tv stuff with ppl emotionally destroying everyone and bases stuff off that 6. my mom asks my friends everything about their lives. what job are your parents? what classes are you taking? etc. She checks on us every 10-15 mins and asks us if we want food or something. 7. my dad treats all friends like babies, he talks to them in a high voice, asks them stupid questions like can I join you guys or am I young? gives fake expressions and laughs. 8. they are overprotective helicopter parents and they always say that i need to be independent! ugh I don't want them to be all over my personal stuff! i have good grades too my brother tried to get them in the privacy talk but they were like you are too young to have privacy! he was 15 then, I'm 15 now. |

I know that she's sort of(not really) jealous of us cuz her bf isn't as affectionate as mine, but I feel like my bf and her still have feelings for each other. After a while Nicole and I became really good friends and bonded over some things, and she revealed to me that she had Myasthenia gravis, and that at times, if she didn't eat, that she would get extremely sick. In July of last year, she stopped roleplay with us because she needed to relax a bit and not have to worry about it, and she said she would get back into the roleplay a few months later, so we made up a story of why her characters weren't there, and every week or so I would message her saying what was going on, and she would always reply. Then in October, she stopped messaging me back, and she didn't get on the game we usually played on together (Roblox), and she hasn't been on any of her social media since July, or October, around the time she stopped playing Roblox and roleplaying with me as well. None of my friends that know her know anything about what is going on. I am really worried for her since she was such a nice girl and one of my closest friends. Do you think she's dead? I emailed my self the plan which was get off early and go do this thing. Then this guy got into my e-mail without leaving a trace, emailed him self a copy of the plan. Printed out detailed directions. Then erased everything. Then confronted me about how he can get off earlier than I could. Then left about an hour earlier than I did to do this thing and now I can not do it. Because of this person. Not talking about the moral or ethical stuff. But, without using the words hijacked my plans. What is that called? I know it's a simple term. I don't want to use emotional labels like, stabbed me in the back or betrayed me. Because that would imply we had a friendship to begin with. But what's that called, in the most rational term. He admitted he did all that when he confronted and laughed at me. |

When we hang our alone its awesome but in a group sometimes its different. She is growing closer with this girl who likes to drink and smoke a lot and she is doing that too, I don't do that. Its her life and she can do what she wants, but I'm still important. So I talked to her.. I said we can't really be friends anymore and she looked sad..she was like "wait what?" And I said look let me explain and I said this is not the friendship we used to have we don't run up and hug each other like we used to, she's like well we don't hang out as much anymore I said yes but its also keeping in contact, I said i love you so much and care about you so much but do you? She said I know I don't always act like I care but I do and I said yeah I know you do but I also don't. You need to text me "hey how are ya?" Check up on me see how I'm doing. I said I do miss you a lot, and she said yeah a felt kind of a difference like I'm change I said if we want to keep this friendship from growing apart then we need to act like it. If I like you more than that, I will usually touch the guy's arm. At work, I have a friend that I am relatively close with. She's super feminine, but has a more masculine personality. I have always found her funny, so we hang out. When she talks to me, or comes near me, she will sometimes brush her arm against my shoulder or lightly touch my back. And they also whisper something about me I each other and laugh but never tell me what they said. M is also very critical of me. I really don't know how to tell her to give me space ans relax without hurting her feelings. | Question: Is prom REALLY that big of a deal? Posted: 14 Apr 2015 01:18 PM PDT I know people hype up prom like crazy, and idk if I should go. I know some people who tell me they haven't gone to prom and it didn't change them one bit, hell, my own father didn't go to prom! There's also the other people who say I will totally regret it if I don't go. What makes me hesitate is that I don't really have anyone to go with. I have my one girl friend I could ask, but she said she wasn't going LONG before they were even selling tickets (they started selling them this week). Also I don't have many friends who are going and I mean your really close friends. I'll definitely know people, but those are the kind of people you meet and chat with in class and become good aquantinces with, no I'm talking about none of my close friends are going. My brother told me that it's not worth going if none of your friends are. Also I got major senioritis. Really just thinking about college more than prom and graduation I'm just thinking about going to college like crazy! (Temple University btw). Plus idk if I really wanna spend the money. So I wanna get some other opinions. Am I REALLY going to regret it that much? Isn't it just like any other school dance? I know some schools put a lot into their proms, ours, we usually have it in some college gymnasium (this year it's Desales). I just don't see the big hype with prom, I would like if someone helped me out, thank you. |
| Question: Why would this other victim of bullying turn on me? Posted: 14 Apr 2015 01:14 PM PDT The two boys were physically bully this other boy and me in the restroom. I decided to report the incident to the Dean's office. Later, the other victim plus the bullies were summoned to the Dean's office. The bullies pleaded their innocence. The other victim told the Dean exactly what had happened, as I had before. But, suddenly the other victim said(paraphrasing) "I can't do this. These guys never bullied us, He (pointing at me) for some reason has it against jocks. He got me to go along with him to try to get these guys in trouble for something they didn't do." I got angry and told them that the bullying most certainly did happen, but the Dean is taking their side. Afterward, the bullies acted like the bullying never happened. Asking me, why I would make up such a thing. They said that they were thinking about asking me to be friends, but if I want to be that way, then I can forget it. |

Posted: 14 Apr 2015 01:13 PM PDT My roommate and I used to be friends until she betrayed me countless times this year (were in college) and since she almost couldn't afford the apartment I agreed to pay the electric bill since she drives me since I don't have a car. Turns out I don't use her car often at all so obviously she gets the better deal. When I leave for the year when the school year is over, I'd still pay my lease while I'm gone but is shut down the electricity before she leaves. Is it illegal if I don't tell her? |
| Posted: 14 Apr 2015 01:10 PM PDT Ive noticed through life that a lot of people really hold a grudge against you if you don't give them more attention than a simple hello. Are people that desperate for attention that they need everyone to act like they are their best friend or it just makes them very upset? For example I will say hi to people, and my gf does the same thing. But we don't go out of our way to kiss peoples butts or be their best friend. This makes people actually dislike being around us or get annoyed when are invited to a party. Why? |
| Question: My friend brought a kitchen knife to school. Should I tell anyone? Posted: 14 Apr 2015 01:03 PM PDT I clicked submit too early >.< We're only in one lesson together (we're not very close, by the way) and he brought a kitchen knife to school during food tech for no reason. He said that he was going to use it to cut up meat, but he didn't. While we were doing theory, he told me he was going to lock the doors and kill the students one by one. I was almost certain he wasn't serious, but he has been diagnosed as a sociopath. Should I have told a teacher? In the end he killed no-one; not serious. I think he might bring the kitchen knife to school again. He sent me a DM on instagram saying "guess who's making an encore?" |
| Question: I'm confused about a situation with a good friend need help? Posted: 14 Apr 2015 12:58 PM PDT So i have this friend who goes to school in Nashville while i was in Chicago. We went to high school together and dated for 2 months. We broke up cause we knew based on the near future (college) it wouldn't work. But we still have always flirted with each other and we get closer to each other then i feel like normal friends would. I decided to visit her in Nashville and she was oddly secretive about it with some other people. First we have another friend in Chicago with me who she told me not to invite down to Nashville (no real reason why, said she'd just prefer it). Also there is another friend going to school with her in Nashville and she didn't tell him i was visiting till the day before. Originally i was visiting to go to a military ball bt i wasn't able to cause it was a Thursday and i had work. So most of the weekend we were just doing things with her sorority, and i always noticed that her sisters always looked at us in a weird way when ever we talked. She said that i could stay in her dorm room which was a single, and we ended up spooning with each other when we were falling asleep. The nxt day was another sorority event then everyone went to a club. While there she started dancing with some guy there which i admit got a little jealous, bt i didn't say anything since we aren't dating. So that night was a little weird, she was kind of flirting but kind of ignoring me. Then she pointed out that she was wearing a bra since we were in the same bed. Am i over thinking it? |

| Question: Do you confront people every time you feel wronged? Posted: 14 Apr 2015 12:49 PM PDT So, im a 26 year old female, and im at a stage of my life where im learning how to confront people. I was raised pretty sheltered and I didn't have to really deal with people. But now, I realize I have to say something to people when I feel wronged. But its not as easy as it looks, sometimes what I think is the issue, people say its not the issue and it doesn't turn out well. I don't want people to walk over me, but sometimes when I confront it doesn't work out ... any tips? |
