Question: Can our wedding photographer come after us? Posted: 16 Apr 2015 08:30 PM PDT The other day my fiancé and I set up a consultation with a photographer. We talked and talked, and ended up setting up and signing a contract (I'm assuming) for a payment plan. Our money is tight right now with bills, so we had decided to wait and make a downpayment next week. They wrote down the day of which we could make the downpayment to reserve our wedding date. In no way, shape, or form did we pay anything towards the whole deal. Since then, and sadly enough before, I had a vision of another photographer that I was interested in booking. If it all comes down to it being possible, are we allowed to cancel our contract? Will we get in trouble legally if they were to come after us for signing the contract with no downpayment? It has me sick and worried that I may have set ourselves up like this. But the indecisive me, I need to know my options. If any at all. |
Posted: 16 Apr 2015 05:57 PM PDT We told our parents that we were trying to keep the wedding to under 100 people when we got lists of people from each side to invite. Her list was nearly 70 people but she assured me that they all wouldn't come so it would probably go down a lot. Well so far a number of the people who we assumed wouldn't come are actually coming and yet she sent us another few people she decided she wanted to invite (college friends). We haven't heard back from 56 people yet and we're at a total of 77 yeses so I really don't want to throw even more people into the pot. I'm asking if there is a KIND way of saying this, I get that it has to be said and I will say it bluntly if I need to but I am asking is there is a nicer way than just saying no, you don't get more people. |

Question: Hypothetically: What would you do? Posted: 16 Apr 2015 05:02 PM PDT If you and your spouse waited until your wedding night to consummate, you were a virgin prior, your spouse told you they were a virgin prior, but then a few months later, YOU tested positive for an STD? Genital herpes, to be exact. Tragically this is about me and I'm ready to kill him... |
Question: Where can I buy satin robes for bridal party? Posted: 16 Apr 2015 04:39 PM PDT I'm throwing a slumber party for my bff's bachelorette party. I would like to buy satin robes for everyone as their favor to take home. I will need 10 robes (maybe personalized). Not wanting to spend more than $200. Etsy has some but they are closer to the $340-$400 range. |
Question: I'm about to tie the knot....? Posted: 16 Apr 2015 03:16 PM PDT Soooo, my boyfriend/fiancé are due to get married in two weeks and I just found out he has been looking on his ex girlfriends FB page from a fake profile. He told me last night it was because she was talking bad about us getting married. So I log onto the fake page and see he sent her a message yesterday (before I found out) and he sent her a message " you are a dirty b*tch". I confronted him and he said because of what she wrote about us. I did not see any of these supposed posts about us and he claims they were deleted. Opinions??? |

Question: Should I ask for money for unused bridesmaid dresses? Posted: 16 Apr 2015 02:19 PM PDT My cousin asked me to be in her wedding. Her wedding is in May, but back in October, she asked her bridesmaids to buy their dresses. I ordered mine and paid for it. It was about $150. No returns, refunds or exchanges. Then in January, I found out I was pregnant. I told my cousin when I was 3 months, because I wanted to make sure everything with my pregnancy was going okay. That same day I told her, I went out and looked for a new dress at the bridal store. They told me I had to buy the dress 2 sizes bigger and I had to get a dress that will go around my belly. Since my cousin was insistent on not letting any fabric other than satin be in her wedding, I ended up getting a dress I didn't like but fit my pregnancy needs. I sent her a picture of it, she approved it. I ordered it and had it rushed, because I didn't have the time like I did before to wait for it to come in. Especially since I was going to need alteration, because the dress was huge on the top. One week later, I went on vacation. I came back from vacation and my mom told me that my cousin cancelled her wedding. Apparently she didn't feel it was the right time for her to get married. But now I not only have 1, but 2 dresses that are useless! I feel like she had to have known before having me buy the second dress that she had doubts about the wedding. Should I ask her for money for at least the 2nd dress, because I feel she knew beforehand that she wasn't going to get married. The timing was too close. |
Question: Bridesmaid complaining about the price of dress? Posted: 16 Apr 2015 12:34 PM PDT My fiancé and I are having a formal wedding this November. He proposed in September and I had asked all of my friends to be my bridesmaids by the end of November everything has went smoothly aside from one of my bridesmaids. We picked out the dresses about a month ago and she said she couldn't make it because of her kids, she's married with two kids...I have an 8 month old pregnant bridesmaid who also has a toddler manage to make it and she knows she is always welcome to bring her kids along none of us mind, I myself have a toddler. But it was fine so the rest of the girls made it and we all found a dress. The dress is priced at $310 which is not that bad for a bridesmaids dress. I told her and she is complaining about the price subtly, "I can't pay that in full." "do they do payment plans?" "I just can't pay that all at once" and she still has not went and even been fitted to see what size she needs. This wouldn't really be a problem and I would understand and my fiancé and I would definitely help her out but the problem is she just has breast implants...so that doesn't really seem fair for us to help her financially but she has fake boobs she just got two months ago. I just don't know how to go about this without being completely rude but I am extremely frustrated. She's a stay home mom with two kids, I'm a stay home mom also with a toddler, we just bought a new house, we're planning a wedding we have financial things going on also. |

Question: Does a wedding belt/sash that's a different color have to match the wedding colors? Posted: 16 Apr 2015 10:33 AM PDT Should a sash that's not white match the wedding colors? Or can it be a different color (not a bold color like a green, but a pale blush color) |
Question: Wedding dress/belt color mismatch help!? Posted: 16 Apr 2015 10:17 AM PDT Okay, so I'm a DIY bride for the most part. I'm extremely crafty, however, I finally hit my first bump in the road. My dress is white lace. I bought a sash to go around it and it's white satin. Well, my dress (mainly because of the lace) looks like a "soft white" but definitely not yet a true ivory. The satin is that "blue white" look. It made my dress look dirty. I ordered the sash and don't have enough time to return it and order a new one so I looked up how to tea dye. I figured a tea dye is safer to use because the color isn't so harsh and you can easily dye something ivory. Well. It worked. BUT, now the sash is almost a lavender hue and I have no idea how that happened since I used black tea and not an herbal tea like passion. The sash is beautiful this color and makes me dress look white again. But now I'm worried that it's going to look weird! (and normally I don't care what's weird because my wedding is a bunch of different shades and "fun" looking) So my question is, if my sash is a different color than my dress, should it match my wedding colors? I have no sign of lavender or even purple in the wedding at all. My colors coral and aqua. My girls and groomsmen will have coral on them but the groom will have aqua. Would a blush belt be okay? (I have a lot of different colored teas) or should I match him? Or is that not that big of a deal and I'm worrying myself over nothing? |
Question: Is it too late to send thank you cards? Posted: 16 Apr 2015 10:06 AM PDT We got married in November, but I haven't sent any thank you cards out. I wanted to wait until I got my wedding photos so I could include one of them, but that took over a month, and by then we had so much going on that it just kept slipping my mind. I'm feeling really guilty and embarassed about it now, but even though I now have the time to get them done, I wonder if it's too late. At first I was thinking "better late than never", but now Im worried that it will only remind everyone of how thoughtless I've been and they will still be upset that I didn't send them sooner. As long as I finish them within the next two weeks, my guests should recieve them before the six month mark, so should I go ahead and send them, or is it too late? |
Question: Creative proposal ideas and is this a good one? Posted: 16 Apr 2015 10:04 AM PDT I wanna ask my girlfriend to marry me this weekend when we go back to my hometown this weekend for a family event. I probably should of thought of this a little earlier ( I have had the engagement ring for over a year now) but anyway what could some creative proposals? She loves horses and eventing, fashion, whatever girly stuff all u girls do, yet Im 99% sure she wouldn't be into a public proposal around my family or friends. I was thinking something along the lines of a horseback ride on my family's horse farm at sunset. I bought her a new show horse ( her show horse is 20 years old) that she rode a few weeks and loved so that's the horse I would use for the trail ride plus it would completely throw her off. |
Question: Songs for brother to sing at sisters wedding? Posted: 16 Apr 2015 06:22 AM PDT My boyfriend isn't able to be at his sisters wedding. He will be in a different country at the time. I am looking for songs that he can sing to her via recording and have it played for her at her wedding. Any suggestions? |
