Question: Beach wedding theme? Posted: 29 Apr 2015 10:41 PM PDT My fiancé and I are wanting to have a wedding on the beach but I want to have something other than the typical beach fish and dolphin type theme. My wedding dress has neon rainbow tulle underneath so I know I want a neon rainbow color scheme but I am also thinking of mashing it with glittery feathers. So like a neon glittery feather theme? I thought that might go because all of the birds that are on the beach during the day and because sand is kind of glittery. Does this seem a little off to for on the beach? Please no rude or unnecessary comments thanks. |

Posted: 29 Apr 2015 08:56 PM PDT I am going to a wedding reception next month, they're having the wedding in South Dakota then driving to Portland,Oregon to have the reception. Question: Conflicted about where I want to go? Posted: 29 Apr 2015 07:59 PM PDT I've been thinking about proposing for the last few months and it's sort of crossing over to other parts of my life. I met my girlfriend my senior year of high school through friends. The summer before I planned to enlist we started going out and I put going into the military off until after college. That was 3 years ago and we've been together for this entire time and I can't see myself without her. We've talked about marriage, kids, etc. Before and I feel like she's the one. Only I've wanted to go into the military since I was in elementary. One of my high school JROTC instructors was a former Green Beret and he told a lot of great things about them that inspired me to want to enlist and eventually go into selection. I've also talked to the Navy about the SEALs and am considering going to one of the two after I finish college (and hopefully qualify for OCS). I want to do this while I'm still young but I'm not sure how this will workout if I do end up getting married. My girlfriend as it is now has different life goals as far as her career and I've seen lots of relationships end under similar circumstances. So I'm basically asking for advice, basically what would you do in my position? |

Question: Clever hashtag ideas for my wedding?!? Posted: 29 Apr 2015 06:48 PM PDT My last name will be changing to "Strom" this summer. Any creative or cute ideas for a hashtag we could use at the wedding for guests to tag pictures and such??? Thanks :-) |
Posted: 29 Apr 2015 05:04 PM PDT Lets say both of us are in our 20's, we HATE our parents and we want to get out and live together. Is it doable? Would the big price start being paid if we started having kids? What would happen if we did that? How is all this paid? She is a foreigner from Mex. with US citizenship and i have my social security and an a US citizen....ok.....now what. |

Question: Do you have to have gift bags at the hotel for out of town guest of a wedding? Posted: 29 Apr 2015 03:58 PM PDT All but 2 guest of of nearly 100 at our wedding will be from out of town. My FMIL mentioned something about doing gift bags at the hotel for out of towners which I have never heard of. My FMIL went ahead and blocked rooms at one hotel without telling us a year out from the wedding and then we blocked rooms at the hotel that we wanted from the start when the wedding got a little closer. She offered to do "her" guests (ie the ones staying at the hotel that she booked) but won't also do the ones that are staying at the hotel that we blocked rooms at. To me, everyone should be getting the same thing so if we are doing gift bags, then whoever does them should do all of them. Do we even need to do them and if so, shouldn't everyone be getting the same thing? |

Question: Im being harassed about my engagment? Posted: 29 Apr 2015 11:33 AM PDT my fiancé and I met in middle school. we then went to the same high school where he proposed to me at 12th grade graduation. We were together for 6 months before he proposed. We have been engaged for 10 years and planning our wedding for 2025. my family constantly harasses me about why its taking us so long but I think that's not of their business. im happy. who rushes marriage anyway? do you think this is too long of an engagement? if you do oh well for the know it alls, I graduated high school at 18 in 1999. this is now 2015 just incase you didn't know which means I am 34. I have long been out of high school and college so to dumbo who said we haven't experienced the real world get a life and pay attention to what you read. ill be 44 when we get married. we both will be financially stable. most of you are probably single or have been married and divorced numerous time. figure your own lives out before you try to criticize mine |
Question: Picking an engagement ring? Posted: 29 Apr 2015 11:13 AM PDT So I plan on proposing to a girlfriend the next two months. I pretty much know what kind of ring she wants, but I can't figure out what type of cut she wants. Every time a commercial comes on I wait for some sort of hint to try and get an idea of it, without having to ask her specifically what she wants. Any suggestions? |
Question: Is it weird to have a open house a week before you get married? Posted: 29 Apr 2015 10:37 AM PDT me and my fiancé live 4 hours apart, we are thinking of doing a open house at my house a week before the wedding, and doing the reception at his house the day we get married because the ceremony location is closer to his house. is it weird to do a open house before your married? |

Question: My stepdad wants to walk me down the aisle? Posted: 29 Apr 2015 09:21 AM PDT My dad died when I was 12. He and my mom weren't together and she was already married to my stepdad a year at that point. But it was hard adjusting, especially as my dad had been my custodial parent for most of my life. But we get along pretty well, though I never considered him my dad. I'm getting married in a few weeks and he asked me if he would be the one to walk me down the aisle. I told him no, that nobody is. I told him I would be walking alone. Then he asked about the father/daughter dance and I told him while I wouldn't not dance with him. It won't be an actual father/daughter dance, just a regular dance. He seems upset about all of this. And I do get it. I know he was probably expecting it. But he's not my dad and I don't want someone else doing what my dad should have done. Does this make me a horrible person? My mom has been angry with me ever since I told him no. She said I'm only doing this to hurt him when I'm not. They also told me they might not even be there now. I also want to add that my fiancé and I are paying for the wedding, not them. I will dance with my stepdad. Just not a father/daughter dance. I would dance with him like I would dance with any family member who wanted to dance with me. |

Question: What do women look or in men? How can I prepare myself for my future wife? Posted: 29 Apr 2015 06:28 AM PDT Throughout my experience of dating I've noticed a lot of things and one of them is that I'm finding out what I don't want in my significant other more than what I do want. I've broken up with my last GF about a month ago and I would like to use my time to better myself as a man and prepare myself for the next girl because I think that she deserves me at my best.I want her to feel like she has it all and be prideful of me... please constructive criticize and give me tips on what I can do to work towards that goal? |
Question: Is it a good idea to propose now? Posted: 29 Apr 2015 04:16 AM PDT I am 21 years old, my girldfriend is 20 years old, we have been a couple for about 12 years, and we really love eachother. We have been living together for 2 years now, and i think that she is just walking around waiting for me to propose. Anyway, i have got myself a job now, i am working as a model for a photo company. My girlfriend is not working at all, but she is going to university. I have been thinking about proposal since we moved in together and i think that i am ready. What do you think? You might think that we are to young, but in my country, most people get married around the age of 23 Yeah, for those who does not Belive me. In this country, kids is doing something that is called, ask for a chance, which means that the boy asks the girl if he has a chance on her, that is like saying: do you wanna be my girlfriend. And if the girl say yes, then the kids are a couple, nothing serious but that was how we started out, and i asked her for a chance 12 years ago, and she said yes. We have been together ever since. But i have known her as long as i can remember. The boys stop Asking for a chance when they are about 10-12 years old. |

Question: Ex stepmother wants to be invited to my wedding? Posted: 29 Apr 2015 01:45 AM PDT My dad was married for about 11 years. They divorced a little over 2 years ago. I haven't seen or spoken to her since, or I hadn't until she started calling me. My dad's ex wife has three kids with him. Apparently she found out when I was getting married and decided to call me up to tell me that particular weekend she has the kids, my half siblings, who I haven't seen in ages because a) she won't let me see them when they're with her and b) I don't live close to my dad, so I only see him a couple of times every few months. And she informed me that unless she's invited to the wedding, she won't allow them to come. I have ignored most of her calls but I listen to the messages she leaves me. I'm getting sick of her calls to be honest. And I'm not sure what I want to do. In an ideal world, I would like to have my half siblings at my wedding. But they are too young to come alone and I don't want to deal with her again. My fiancé said it's up to me. Should I invite her just to have my half siblings there? Or would it be okay to not? Nope. He only has a say on his weekends. If she has them, it's whatever she says that goes. |
Question: My husband sang out our wedding, try it out!? Posted: 28 Apr 2015 10:41 PM PDT Maybe I'm just a romanticist, but my husband sang the song "Warmness on the Soul" by Avenged Sevenfold and played the piano at our wedding, I can only hope that you ladies have the same experience! We got married 3 days ago and holy crap I will forever remember that! Would you want you future husband to sing at your wedding? |

Question: He's not ready for marriage? Posted: 28 Apr 2015 08:31 PM PDT I'm getting married may 30 2015, the closer I get the more afraid and nervous I get. my fiance and I've been together for ten yrs, we finally decided to get married after all this time. we wanted to make sure we both finished college and had good jobs and that are money was right. I admit things wasn't always good but it wasn't that bad either....I feel as though thus whole marriage thing is getting the best of my guy he's changed, he too controlling I can't have male friends I can't wear nothing nice without him assuming things. its almost as if he doesn't trust me I give him no reason not to. I'm open I go to work and back home. he can go through my phone and everything if he wants to. it seems like everything I saw or do pisses him off... so I ended up telling him if he's not ready than that's fine with me but when I do tell him he throws a fit and accuses me of not wanting to marry him. I even told him maybe we can push it back he didn't like that either. we are currently going to marriage counseling which is fine with me also with him he seems to enjoy it and agree with what we learned but once its over and we are on our on he's back at being mean ignoring me for hrs of the day for what no reason over petty stuff if I say we really need to talk about this whole marriage thing hes throws a fit. I don't know what else to do I hate being ignored only because he feels as though I hurt his feelings only because I asked does he think we are ready to get married every since then he's been mad at me I hate pretending |
