My grandmother and I were very close when she was alive, and we were very close for as long as I can remember. She passed away yesterday. Her funeral is next week. And it will be the first funeral I've ever attended. At the viewing, would it be disrespectful to my grandmother to not want to see her body? I really just don't want my last memory of her to be dead in a casket. I want it to be what it is currently; spending Christmas with her.

my wife will be going to prison for eight months for being involved in a financial crime at the company she is at. I willing to stay with her because I feel She made some stupid mistakes but it was out of character so I think she just got herself into a bad situation and make some poor decisions. And I am not defending her or saying she should not serve her punishment. I told my daughter she is rightfully serving her punishment which is the right thing for her mistakes. I am wondering what is the best way to prepare for this situation and how to handle it. I have a daughter who is 16 and she seems to be handling it fine. I told her right away about it and she reacted pretty calmly. She later joked about how "now her mother is the one being ordered around". I have no problem with that really as it is probably better to joke a bit instead of being hysterical. I am wondering if she should visit. I went and visited my wife it was one giant room with several tables and several guards around, I saw my wife at one table. She was dressed in her jail clothes. We talked for about 30 minutes then in the end the officers line the inmates up and walked them through one of the sealed doors. I wonder if I should let my daughter visit. Would it be wise to take her when she will see the prison environment, other inmates and even guards could be intimidating if I do allow her how should I prepare her ahead of time? I managed to talk to one of the main guards that works at that jail. She said that since my daughter is a teenagers it is perfectly fine to take her. She also said use it as a learning experience (what does that mean do you think), ask your wife to be honest about what happened, and to simply present it as a punishment for wrong doing. What do you think about this?

since day one, she was never a fan. just didn't like me for no reason. She's the only female in her immediate family, needs to have attention, self-centered, and controlling. Fast forward to 3 years, she managed to find a man/be engaged within a year and she is now using this as a way to exclude me. At a family event she said, "oh my fiance david needs to be family pictures from now on bc we're engaged." She posted a fb status saying, "we're going to have fun at this event tonight! Family!" and included all that was there except for me. It's alot of passive-agressive petty stuff and I can see right through but for me to acknowledge it would make me look petty. My boyfriend confronted her plenty of times with this and the beginning and they didn't talk for a while. I confronted my frenemy after a year of her toxic behavior and we didn't talk for a while. He finally said that we couldn't control them and we just need to focus on us and ourselves. At this point, he's sick of the petty and fighting. Little did she know, he was having dinner with me. I didn't mind if he had gone to dinner with them but chose not to and ate with me. I found it weird he didn't mention me. I asked him and he just said, "it's none of her business." It makes me wonder if he knows so much more of this immaturity than what he says. Anyhoo, she's been doing alot of "jabs" here and there and using her recent engagement to snub me or make me feel excluded. I must not stoop down to the behavior but it's annoying and childish I don't feel comfortable around her presence and even though there are no words exchanged, i know she doesn't like me. There's tension. Yet if I bring it up with him, he thinks I'm just creating drama and I'm not. my dad took my phone away yesterday for having a messy room three days in a role, but I had reasons . I told him " dad , I have been having migraines the past 4 days, I'm focused on my STAAR tests, therefore I couldn't and did not have time to clean my room. " so then he said I was being disrespectful and rude so now he's going to have it for a week. I don't think I said it rudely, I just said it to where he wouldn't interrupt me (like he constantly does). Or. Sternly. Is he being fair? Did what I said seem disrespectful and rude? Three years ago my step dad sexually abused me. since then we have been in court. I did not testify and mum kicked him out of our lives. The case was about to close when my sister lied to our case worker that mum had been letting him be around us. About eight months ago I was placed in my first foster home. My second one was verbally abusive and by the end of the month I was leaving my third and placed three hours from home to live with my birth dad and 11 year old sister. The main goal is reunification but my GAL is fighting it. Today i went to my school councilor's office and asked for a copy of my current grades vs. my transfer grades. I am failing three more classes here than i was at home! i plan to write a letter to the judge and send a copy of this along. Copies of it will be placed in the papers that everyone gets (lawyers, caseworkers and adults) i can not concentrate in school here, sometimes i have to leave the room because i start crying without reason, i have been here for almost seven months and i still feel like this is all one big dream and that i can wake up and nothing happened, like none of this counts; i know that is not true though.. my younger sister goes out of her way to make sure i know i don't belong when ever she gets the chance and it is hard for my birth dad to afford meat free food for me and still make sure i am getting enough protein along with food for him and my sister. Do any of you guys have any advice?

So a few days ago I allowed my stepmom to go on my work schedule website for something that we needed to print out. Well I had requested off this Saturday because for weeks straight I've had to get up at the same time I do for school which is 6:40 for work for the weekends and I was getting so exhausted. I had to stop coming home and napping or else I wouldn't go to sleep and my stepmom yelled at me because I requested off and said I was being irresponsible. I know I shouldn't request off when I don't have something that day but waking up that early for 7 days a week is absolutely wrecking me and the only days I have off of work are on week days so it's not like I really get a break when I'm working weekend and weekdays. I just don't understand why she doesn't see that I need a personal day sometimes because I know if I don't I'll probably just flip from being so tired.

My mother always comes and yells at me because I usually don't do what she says than she yells at my dad to come to beat me or to make him yell at him and lies him and everytime I try to say something my dad yell louder at me and warns me he will kill me , he will cut my head or neck things like that I'm always scared because I know he can get that mad to do that because he drinks a lot alcoohol. I'm 15 and my baby sister is 10 months old and I pretty much raised her for the first 5 months of her life because my mom was really sick in hospital and my dad was working and when I went to school my grandma came over to look after her. I treated my sister like she was my own daughter and I love her so much even though she can't talk or walk or anything yet. My mom has fully recovered now and is able to mind my sister but even though my moms in her life again, everyday after school when she sees me she starts smiling and holds her arms out for me to take her and I also feed her and change her a lot and I still get to spend a lot of time with her even though my mom is back. I am getting rally sick of living there. I want to make my own meals, buy my own food and alcohol, have my own friends to visit and have a life. I want to make my own decisions and not have them control my life. I am getting sick of eating my parents food and they choose what to buy not me. How can I move out? I am really getting sick of them treating me like a kid. They never ask me what I want or let me cook meals or do anything. I want my own freedom and would like to go to bars sometimes because I deserve to. I am 21 years old. My parents have given me so much growing up without apoiling me but living there now is getting old.

Yesterday we had a verbal argument over some spilled food. He wanted me to clean up the spill (which I did) but he was being rude about it. He started with name calling. He went on about how lazy and stupid I was. After a while I had enough so I firmly asked him to quit with the name calling. He took it as a threat and told me to fight him. Luckily my mom woke up to stop it before it got out of hand. This is not the first time he threaten to hit me in this manner. He has also threaten my siblings. He only acts like this when my mom is asleep or busy with something else. How do I deal with this? I already talked to my mom about it and she has not done anything about it. Keep in mind I'm 17 years old and close to turning 18.

My brother has locked himself in his room for years (since 1998 to now) he's 37 y/o just comes out to eat the lesftovers mother cooked or when needing something, h'es not interacting with any of us except for for minor stuff. He's like a caged lion we just let him be because, mother and father are not one to care or talk to you heart to heart we didn't grow up like that as a matter of fact we grow up with a father working abroad just seeing him a month a year(we live in morocco) so it was just us and MOM and she did all the physical chores but not the emotional so we are all lacking in that area except my sister, but now she's married and is abroad, she was the only one that could talk to him about something, he even appeared on her wedding but after that he shut himself even more not going out of the house at all. I usually respond defensively towards my parents when they yell at me or don't have the friendliest tone with me. Then they get extremely mad at me for responding that way. It's like I can't help it because it's an instinct or something. I hate that I do it because then my stepdad usually holds grudges towards me for days sometimes even a week or two. In 14 and in the holidays I told my parents I was going to my friend's house but I met up with some other friends and got drunk at the park, I got away with it for a bit but then after a petty fall out with my sister she told my mum (which I hate her for) and showed them a video on my phone that my friend took of us drunk and I got grounded for 6 months?! I'm 14, my boyfriend is 15. We've known each other for 5 years. Our families are close. We're very serious, we've been dating about a year. My family owns a beach cottage where we spend our summers & this time, my boyfriend & his twin sister (my best friend) are coming for a week during the summer. I've never had a bf here & I'm worried! Idk what to be prepared for. We pretty much spend all day every day on the beach. He's never seen me in a bikini, so that alone is kind of a big deal to me. My brother (23 years old) & his gf will be here too & this cottage is small..we're going to get on each others nerves & want time away from each other, so my bf & I can take walks on the beach alone, but then what does his sister do? I'm not that comfortable just leaving her with my parents..she's kinda socially awkward(as am I). In all this time with them I still don't know much about their living habits. We have an outdoor shower (enclosed!) which may be awkward for them. I think they will feel very out of place. We're not very good hosts, so I know there will be plenty of awkward moments. My parents expect guests to just act like its their own house too, but they wont (they're too humble). They need to be told what to do & I'm bad at making the decisions, which they will expect me to do on this kind of trip. I'm 13 years old. When I'm dressing, mom always knocks on the door to my room and then just walks in without consent from me. I have to keep the door open to my room so they can see the things I'm doing on my computer. I'm a 16 (soontobe 17) year old girl. I moved out 8 months ago to a different city and next fall I'm moving abroad after getting a college scholarship. (im not american) My childhood was a pretty devastating time for me. My dad hated my bigbrother (who's not his son), who was a teen back then, and all of my childhood, my home was a place full of anger and mental abusement. I have never been heard or supported in my family, and my dad denied me from having any relationship to my brother. I grew up hating my home and nowadays I dont even go there because I always just cry out of anxiety and distress that the place causes me. Everything's better now and the house has been "calm" for years, but I still have no relationship to my family. I see my mom at times but we dont talk about anything. The more I'm growing up, the less I really even need them. I don't miss home and I have zero desire ever forming a relationship with my dad. I don't think I'm moving back to my homecountry after next fall, and I'm really happy that way - now that I've been away for 8 months, I've started to recover from depression and let go of my past. Actually I just want to hear thoughts. Can this really be it? Am I really not obligated to ever return home? I have a close family in CA whom I love so much and feel happy with. Their boys call me sis etc. and they've really taken me as a part of their family. Can I just make a closure and become more of a part of my CA family than my real one?

Okay, so my girlfriend and Ihave been dating for 9 months. We love each other and everything. Anyway her parents are really nice. And have excepted me as part of the family since a while back. Although her parents are also assholes to her. My gf is a varsity dancer at her school and her mom is really REALLY pushing her to do better in dance and pressuring her to do things she doesn't really feel she should do and making her get involved in pointless organizations. And if she does poorly in it, she gets really mad and almost makes her feel hopeless. Her parents are very young. They had her in their high school days. But they're pretty wealthy her dad has an important job in the oil industry. They're also very religious so they're not ghetto or anything. They're a normal family but her mom is over protective and very controlling. She is 17 and I am 18. Just recently I asked her to delete her Facebook. Which she did because she didn't use it and it was just "there" and her mom got furious at her and especially me. Because I asked her to. I am not intimidated by her parents but I don't think this should be an issue at all because it's my girlfriends Facebook and it should be her choice not mine or her moms. Is all I want in life is a mom and dad that act like that love me. Someone to hold me tight and be there for me. My grandpa died when I was 10 and I feel like he was the only person that's shown me true love and what family should be like. I miss him a lot and it's been 7 years since he passed :-( I've tried to be a good person and make my parents proud. I'm barely 17 and Friday is my last day of my first year of college. I feel like my parents aren't proud of me though and that they don't love me. When I was 15 I tried finding an older man to love me and fill the empty space in my heart. It worked very temporarily till he used me and moved on then I felt even more empty. I never fit in with people my age because I see things differently and some say I'm wise way beyond my years. Bottom line is I feel like no one cares. I can't make friends my own age and if I make college aged friends I'm not allowed to hang out with them (because of my parents). So my dad took my phone and I had my twitter notifications popping up on the screen and my name on twitter was something very very vulgar. So he asked for my passcode to go through it. When he went through my twitter i had retweeted stuff that said "Im so horny" and followed pornhub and had stuff about being sad and sex and was cursing a lot. I ve never liked kids. I m really awkward around them and I ve never found babies cute. Sorry, I just don t. But lately, I ve been getting these weird motherly feelings. Like I ll be watching a tv show and see this cute little boy and think "I wish I had a son like that". I m only 23 and single! What is going on with me???

So I faked sick this morning. I spit up in the bathroom and told my mom it was throw up and I was making a big deal. She thinks I am faking so she just left me home with my brother. Should I tell my mom I faked sick?

Okay well the thing is I got in a bad fight with my mother..it has always been this way she an abusive drunk who takes pills and chemically unblanaced. During g the fight the cops got involved and said I'm legally an adult and can stay with whom ever. Ive been straying with my tia and her boyfriend and have a job that pays very little so I'm looking for a new job. My tia recently told me I have to move out this summer and I should stay with my boyfriend but his parents do not like me cause of my mother and cause I had gotten pregnant but they made me get an abortion. I really have no friends who will take me in. I don't want to get cps involved. I just don't know what to do or where to go. I only have till the end of May. Someone please help me figure out my options.

My mother is starting always **** up with me. Screaming, hitting me, but yesterday night she went bersek. She hit me fifteen times , left a mark (actually a really big Injury), told me to go to hell (I'm a satanist + my mom is religious and doesn't know that I'm a satanist, I have to play along with her if I don't want to get adopted that's what she told me), told me that she hates me & never loved me , that she hopes I would die and that I'm Stupid and many things like that. I'm 14, I usually spend my time in my room reading / drawing with music on. Sometimes I play video games (counter strike global offensive) and while I play those games, she comes in screaming at Me why am I being so violent. I always answer in the most calm voice tone ever. After I answered her last night (7pm was already done with every chore + bathing ) that I'm spending my time. She told Me to close the game because it's brainwashing me. Before we went to sleep, I said I don't want to sleep with her , she said ok , give me all the devices in your room. I obeyed instantly, when they were in her room , she started screaming and getting dressed saying that she was leaving the house (like a freaking teen). I then said go do it, but she didn't. So I ended up sleeping in the same bed as her (hate sleeping with her). This morning my dad calls me about the issue but my mom LIED TO HIM AND DIDNT TELL HIM EVEn 1/10 of what happened. She just told him that I've beaten her up Which I didn't My dad doesnt believe

We've done teacher student but she messages me about brother and sister and I'm not to comfortable with that what should I do

So my mom always gets mad at me for no reason. I have to share a room with her but she us getting her own room soon. I live at my grandmas house. Getting to the point,i think my mom is bipolar or abusive. Because when i was younger,we would go to the store (all 3 of us) and she would be nice when we got in but when we got out she would yell at me to the point that i would be crying. At night,she even yells at me when everybody is sleeping. Then she has the nerve to tell me im being loud when she is screaming at the top of her lungs. This morning,she screamed at me for no reason. I hate this! This is why i became depressed. And i just got out of depression a few months ago. I don't know what to do at this point. Please help.

my husband and i moved into an apartment together with my brother. alot of bad things have been happening now to where he is leaving and just a little while ago, while my husband was sleeping in his room my brother and his girlfriend jumped my husband. his face is swollen and everything. should i just move out of my home or do i call the cops for assault?

She yells at me for not getting a perfect score in a test and she goes crazy at me when I get in trouble even the slightest. The thing is, I'm under a lot of pressure at school and her yelling at me and making me cry doesn't help. Any advice to get her to stop?

I cry every day. It's ripping me apart and I don't see them very often. I just came back from holiday; I went to my younger brother and sister's house. I see them once a year maybe? My entire family is spread apart and ITS NOT FAIR. Why should I be the one to suffer because my parents split up. Any way, I don't know what to do because I wanna see them, but what can I do? Thanks for reading this :) First off, you're going to call me a spoiled brat... but, trust me, I'm not. My grades are close to perfect, I never go out with friends and clothes never exceed beyond Target etc. Furthermore, I try to gain as much money possible - sending a job app. for online writing tmr (I'm 13, it's legal as it's online) and also selling phone cases. Also, I'm taking 2 online dip. courses. BTW I'm Asian. And physically and emotionally abused. Also, I know they love (sometimes vice versa)... But I've come to counting down the years till it's legal to move out (to go to uni etc.). Eg, Since 2012 when the movie Avengers AoU was annouced, I've waited...and waited...and waited. So in Jannuary, I first asked them if I could go out FOR THE FIRST TIME and watch the movie with friends (I had never been anywhere without them)...it's been 5 months and tomorrow is the day that I was supposed to go. The funny (not really) thing is, my parents can afford a BRAND NEW RICE COOKER (we have 2 already) but not a $12 movie ticket. A one off event. This comes from yesterday when I reminded them and they asked me how much the ticket was. I replied "$12" and told them I'd pay for it w/ Chinese NY money AND money I'd EARNED from selling phone cases. (Side-note: the CNY money I received from one person was triple anything my parents had ever given me in one shot [the rec is $15...after placing 6th at in international comp.) Also, they hit me when they feel like it. So, yeah. Help.

So it was 4/20 three days ago and on that day I found out my grandma (whom I am living with at the moment) is an avid smoker of weed. I didn't know it, but now it seems all she does is smoke it. I am 16, my family don't care for me nor love me anymore.. I get physically abused by my brother.. I have no input in the household.. I feel like everyone would be better if I was just gone, any tips on running away? I want to cover my tracks too as I want to stay hidden, it's better that way

I live very close to some relatives but over the span of a decade they have visited once or less. I don't think it's right they never talked to us until now. I received no support/guidance/help from "family" and it was difficult as my family doesn't have much money. Now that I'm doing ok I like to give advice or help those in need. Why does my family think it's ok to suddenly be close to them now... they were never there when we needed them.

I am engaged into a family the size of the duggars and it is very annoying. No one pays attention to me I don't mean to sound like a princess but I have been with my fiance for 4 years now and the sisters and in laws all go out and never invite me or talk to me and the only time they ever talk to my fiancé is when they want something from him he always says yes I feel like their family is a competition with each other! Alright, I got my son tested when he was 8 and he has an IQ of 147. From kindergarten to 3rd grade he got all the little stickers and 100%'s on his tests and homework. He was always so bubbly and had tons of friends. But for a few years now(he's 14) he's been getting horrible grades, turning in his assignments late and being a genrally lazy person. He has also become very emotionally detached and seems to have no sympathy. He plays video games, reads, writes, and watches YouTube. I've even taken all his books, technology, and writing utensils away from him. And he just sat in his room staring at a wall for hours on end. Is there a reason this has been happening? How can I help him? We have moved a lot, around 15 times in the space of 4 years. I also divorced my wife when he was 4. I know it's suspicious because I put this anonymous but please help me.

I'm serious people get so pissed off when women say they don't want children. Then they try to tell you "You're just saying that because you're still young. You'll want children in the future." -_- like seriously. ..... but why? Why do they get so upset? (My mother caught an attitude with me because of that^) I dislike children (and before you say "how could you hate children?! You're a selfish b****! Im glad you dont have kids because you would be a abusive mother!" Calm ya ****/balls) I'm nice to children and i take good care of them. But im around kids 24/7 and they get on my nerves every sec of tge day. I have 4 brothers and 3 sisters and two nephews and a niece. So I'm sure my other siblings are gonna pop out some more kids i dont need none. But i want to be FREE and enjoy my life at the fullest you cant do that with kids. They limit SOME of the things i want to do. And i honestly don't want to be in pain for 9 months waiting to push out a huge head through my vagina :/ And it urks me when people say "its a womens RESPONSIBILITY to give birth" um....no -_- And if anything i think its better to adopt since they have no family (i wouldn't adopt babies myself because they get chosen faster than any age group. I rather adopt a child who's a little older because no one pays attention to the tweens and teenagers in foster homes ) Honestly im not even sure if im ranting but im done
