At the same time I sometimes try to protect myself by not giving away too much but I think I come across guarded and emotionally unavailable, so rather than protecting myself I can push people away. I'm generally a pretty highly strung person, but dating makes me feel like a basket case sometimes. So how do I just chill and let things happen? |

I'm a virgin and probably will remain one for like 5 more years (I'm 16) and I see a lot of stigma around losing your virginity. Guys are pressured to lose theirs (why?) and girls are shamed if they lose theirs. When you're an adult it's an issue for relationships. Idk what it means right now. I'm deprived of school gossip and I only hang out with the good kids (nerds) so idk how many of my classmates have lost theirs. Does anything change after you lose yours (mentally/emotionally)? Yet I never could get tge proper words together or courage to ask you on a simple date. Well it probably wouldn't have been simple. It probably would have been a complete disaster lol because of me. I had a ton of things going wrong in my life during high school. Between my anxiety issues, my mom going through surgeries due to cancer, my dads business struggling because a lack of help which ultimately leaded to me dropping out, part 1 so I could help him. The time nor the words were right. Now I'm facing bigger battles of my own and I don't know where, maybe I should say when, my life is going, I thought it is better now then never to just let you know, I think of you as the one person I regret not saying hello to and finishing with a would you. If that makes sense. I know its been years since high school but every man has that one person they let walk away without even trying to make them stay. sorry for being so cliche. #2 I'm and dont have much time left on this earth so i got drunk and wrote this. She didn't understand why I did it and that's fine cause I did it for myself and she was a bit rude about it anyway but I never got my intentions across to her. We didn't speak enough but the reason was I was shy and I never told her. I want to tell her why but now she's starting university so the last thing she needs is me messaging her. I can leave it and chalk it up to a lesson to learn from but all that time spent thinking about her and asking her out was ruined in minutes. I hate this situation. Recently(over the past couple months) I have been exploring Christianity and he has asked before, to take me to church. Initially I said no as I wasn t quite prepared for that step, however I am now, so I asked him to take me but his reply now is "no." No valid reasons given, despite me asking numerous times, it was just "no." I didn t pressure him because I just didn t want to be a nag, but I am confused now. What should I take this to mean? Am I over thinking by interpreting this to mean that he no longer sees me as a long term partner? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. |

Things I've noticed from her include always laughing / smiling at jokes and things I say. Also sometimes she uses sarcasm during our conversations. She and I will lock eyes and hold while talking sometimes for several seconds. Today we were inside an office room talking and she wanted to change clothing from work to casual. Instead of asking me to leave she said to just look the other way. Also she sat close to me on my table in the same office, when there was a chair just a bit farther away. Then she asked me questions about what I like and talked about her family. Do any of these factors mean she's showing an interest in me? Thanks |
