One one of best friends in the entire world is most likely moving to japan in October because they're military. My other bestie is possibly moving to Florida before the school year ends. I just don't want to go into depression like I did when my other bestie moved to California (I live right next to one of the biggest naval baises in the world, Norfolk Virginia.) My military friend if originally from here, but then moved to Spain, and came back here, and had been here for almost 8 years. I mean I have other besties, but no one will replace those nerds!!! Were all gifted, so we do tons of nerd stuff. Me and my 7-8 good friends all look like we hate each other and talk to each other like we hate each other, but we deep down love each other like a big school family. I jut don't want us to split up after they move. I love them so much. I really just doing this to vent tbh. How can I not go into depression like I once did over a lost relationship? |

I met "S" last year and we were the best of friends. we shared many interests and did everything together. one day S turned on me and claimed I was "copying her". she made me rethink my entire personality, style, and interests because she made me feel like i truly was leeching off of her. S tried to pick fights with me many times but eventually S moved away and goes to a different school now. she still talks sh*t about me on her social medias. S has called out many other people for "copying her" which leads me to think she has a self image issue. we still look at each other s social medias and follow each other but we haven t talked since may. she posted a video of a man getting stabbed to death because she thought it was funny. it was very disturbing because i confronted her about it and asked her if she thinks murder is ok and she replied with "everyone has their own opinion". It doesn't help that I'm shy and quiet, the thing is, everyone already knows me as the shy girl so I guess I'm stuck with that title. I have a feeling that people would find it weird if I just suddenly started talking (which is hard for me to do in the first place). In the past, I would get a friend or a group and I'd slowly drift apart from them. Like I had these friends in my neighborhood and we were best friends but they got closer with each other while I got further apart and they're still friends currently, I feel like I should have tried harder to be close with them but that could also turn out being forcing a relationship when it isn't working. I also had a best friend since kindergarten but she moved, I spent a lot of time with her which is probably why I didn't make many other friends. Most people in high school already have a group of friends they're already close with. I know high school is supposed to be about memories with friends and stuff, but clubs and stuff are only fun if you have a group of friends which I don't. About a year ago they emigrated from Vietnam to my home town in the United States. I would get to chat very briefly with them here and there over the last few months for about 10 minutes at a time. I did invite them to a local event and got to spend a few hours with them. They go to my community college, and I have met them there to chat and have lunch a couple times. What strikes me a little odd is they are extremely inviting, I do not know them well at all and they already have invited to travel to Vietnam with them about four months from now and spend a whole month with them there! They also have invited me to California the first time we hang out and chatted outside of work. They are very nice people and I understand they probably desperately want friends when first moving to a country and figuring out the English language. Do you think this extreme welcomingness/ inviting could be a sign of something peculiar? I mean, like, do you think they could have anything up there sleeve? I just don't know how to respond, they seem nice but it caught me a little off guard to give such a major invitation since I barely know them. Any thoughts??? Please and Thank You |

My chinese class is during lunch which means i cant ever hangout with friends. Which is a huge issue. Turns out my fellow classmates also are having issues with the class. But I could deal with that because we were in separate classes and so my family life was separate from my school life. We recently mixed our classes up and I ended up with my best friend (yay) but I also ended up with my cousin. She's literally trying to pull me away from my best friend and make her my only friend. She insults all of them and says "I don't get why you like (insert name here)" Now I'm forced to include her in my school life as well. Not only that but she also joined my drama class and dance class after calling it "nerdy." My 18 yr old sis also laughed and said "I swear she's doing everything you are." But my friend for a year de friended me because I'm changing but of course I'm going to change I'm in high school. She was so mean because I told one of my friends when she told two of hers about it all, she told me to "keep ur ******* mouth shut" because I was crying after she de friended me for changing. I don't see myself changing only 3 people do and it's the people taking her side but one of them typed me a huge paragraph on how they think I'm doing bad stuff and I was in the summer but I stopped because I realized it was pointless and dumb. Then I wrote them all individual paragraphs at the end of summer apologizing because I saw what I did and I told her that and she said that wasn't it. The main girl who started this all has been so mean u don't understand. | Posted: 26 Sep 2017 06:31 AM PDT Iam putting together a ladies weekend among friends. We are going to my guys house off the lake up north. One of my friends is going to join us for day activity as she and her guy will have a hotel room about 40 min. away (its there anniv. weekend) and no he isn't joining us for our activities. Another one of my friends might get a hotel at that hotel and ride with that friend, and they are also talking about bringing some food. My sister and I are creating a weekend menu and are bringing the groceries, which we will update everyone of. Everyone is putting in $15 if they are satisfied with the menu. We planned activities too. The one staying at the hotel wants to bring dishes,( how if she is staying at a hotel,,) well she also tends to show up late with food and in some cases not show at all. I don't like having "too many cooks in the kitchen(meaning too many trying to control, influence, or work on something) Am I being a B???? because I'm thinking of saying NO this is a ladies weekend where we are going to eat, sleep and chill together. Bring yourselves and your alcohol of choice everything else is planned. Sats aka numbnuts crawl into a shell. 2x doesnt make it many. Thank you Pyroi and LilAlien. I just ignore him because i'm trying to pay attention during class. He should get the hint that I'm not his friend anymore. Should I tell him directly or should I just wait this out? It's gotten to a point where he's blocking my way in the hallway to class. |

| Question: Could this be the end of a decade old friendship? Posted: 25 Sep 2017 11:28 PM PDT This is regarding one of my closest friends, we re both late 20s. Exhibit 1: She went from responding to my messages in ~2hrs time max, to several hours. Eg: I d message at 2pm today, she would respond at 11pm tomorrow night. And she would be seen online. Exhibit 2: Always an excuse not to meet up after we make plans. One time she told me an hour before we were to meet that she has a hectic migraine, chest is sore, coughing, nauseas and she left work early. Only for me to see the next day early in the morning she is queueing to go to a music festival :/ She always find an excuse right before we are supposed to meet, the other time it was " oh Im sorry, i forgot I had to do x,y,z" Exhibit 3: She forgot my birthday. I hadn t brought it up because I dont want to seem petty. I will stop there, is this the end? I am getting married next year and invited her, but am thinking twice about that invitation... |
| Question: How do I deal with a roommate who acts like I'm her mom? Posted: 25 Sep 2017 10:29 PM PDT So I just moved in and me and my roommate got along pretty well. Only thing is that she is super duper needy. She is struggling with anxiety and depression so she has been constantly venting about her problems to me and crying to me. I'm glad she feels comfortable enough to me and I'm happy to listen but it's getting excessive. I have issues of my own and it's getting hard to deal with other people's too. Another thing is she is so lazy and asks me to boil pasta, get her water and etc. she hasn't been feeling well because she has lupus and she can barely walk because she is in pain all over. I feel bad for her but she asks me to help her cook, walk with her to the grocery store and things like that. I want to help her but I don't have time at all because of heavy coursework. The past two days I've been helping her, making her food and going with her to places and also listening to all her problems. It's getting very tiring and I'm getting kind of fed up and I feel horrible saying this. She apologized to me for all the help and thanked me but I feel like she needs to suck it up and deal with it because I am not her mother nor her therapist.Another thing that bothers me is she constantly comes into my room and asks me for things like a water bottle, medicine or to complain about her problems. I am in the middle of studying or having alone time so it's very annoying. I feel like she's an adult and needs to figure out her problems herself. |

I know they are probably depressed right now because things happened while they are gone. Anyways know that they are back they changed, they seem to be more annoyed over things. (she wants to be a makeup artist when she's a bit older and she's already honestly really good!!) She thinks she's bad at running, she's near the top of my grade level in running for girls... She thinks she's stupid because she doesn't get the best grades and wants to get out of the magnet program at my school.. This month she claims to be more "B*tchy" because of an event that happened when she was a kid around this time. ~~~~~~~~~ This is stressing me out and making me feel not as good about myself because I have to listen to her complain about herself. She has a therapist that should be helping her with her self esteem. At this point I think it might be for attention. If so, does anyone have suggestions to help me tell her that in a nicer way? I don't want to ruin our friendship. Thanks Edit: Sorry, I think you misunderstood-- I don't mean to call her that, and I agree it's very offensive, in my question I'm asking if this behavior is considered being that. I don't want her to be bullied for being called that (it's happened before) and I want to help her out by letting her see things in a different perspective. |

But whenever i have something he wants or if he needs help or if im around someone popular he starts acting nice and friendly. He also found my social media and i am a little popular on it, he followed me. After the day he followed me he started wanting to hang with me more and being nice again. When i didnt follow him back he kept asking me why i didnt follow him back and started calling me fake. |
