I'm loud when I'm with my friends and quiet when around others. She said she doesn't label me annoying but just thinks I'm annoying sometimes. This kind of hurt my feelings. I can't help but be loud sometimes. I know she wasn't trying to hurt my feelings but I feel a little sad. How do I stop being so annoying? I know some of you will say that, "don't change yourself for others" and stuff but I just need a good answer. I have 2 best friends but my 2 best friends who know each other don't get along. Their names are Julie and Heather. They both like me though but all us 3 cannot hang out or be together. Heather says to me that either I am friends with her or Julie but I can't be friends with both because she doesn't like Julie and Julie says if I am friends with her, I cannot be friends with Heather. I don't know what to do here because I hate playing monkey in the middle and having to be forced to pick who I can be friends with. What should I do? I like them both but all 3 of us can't hang together. I mean, they both like me but those 2 can't be together. If I am friends with one, I can't be friends with the other and if I cut them both off, I won't have any friends. Posted: 11 Sep 2017 05:11 PM PDT I am part of a program in my school in which me and other seniors are with the same group of 20 or so freshmen everyday before school and help them acclimate to high school, make new friends, etc. My main role is to play as an advisor and a friend to these freshmen. However, one freshman has recently been very rude. We were working on a group project and I asked him to throw away his scraps into the trashcan. He got up to do so, but simply just put the paper in my hoodie and/or on my face, saying he put it on the trash can. I wasn't offended or hurt by the joke, but rather that after relentless prodding he still would not listen to me and was still treating it as a joke. I don't think his behavior was intended to be malicious or hurtful, but he refused to take me seriously. A day before this, I made a teasing joke towards the freshmen, and immediately after, he grabbed the back of my backpack and kept slapping my elbow. After telling him repeatedly to stop, I got a angry and told him firmly that even though we are and can still be friends, he can't treat people like that, especially people in an advisor role to him. Despite telling him this and him stopping, he still had this attitude and the first situation I described happened a few days later. How can I firmly tell him to give me respect/listen to me without lashing at him. I don't want to have a bad relationship with him, but I don't know what to do to stop this kind of behavior. |

One day I got into a fight with him. I don t remember how it went I was so angry everything is a blur. All I remember was him pulling my hair and me trying to aim for his face. A kid said I lost. he was really popular so everybody bothered me about it. I m in 8th grade now. I don t talk with him cuz I know he still hates me. I don t hate him. I dont have a grudge against him. I just want an apology and I ll happily accept it. I just wish everything was cool between us. Friday I was walking with this kid and then i felt something stare at me. I looked beside me and there he was staring at me. And he randomely said. Your ugly you know that? This time I went to the counselor. But I m afraid he ll still bother me. I went to the counselor in 7th grade and as you can see I m still being bothered by him. I had to learn how to fight over the summer because of him. But after what happened in 7th grade i don t want to fight. I just want to sort things out. He keeps telling me this. Posted: 11 Sep 2017 03:16 PM PDT I have a friend that's always saying something bad about someone and keeps bringing up his past and how horrible everything is. He knows that my childhood wasn't the greatest either and keeps telling me we both need therapy to work out our issues, but the thing is I don't dwell on my past or childhood like he does. I actually told him "I look to the good in things and the past can't be changed, so I shrug it off and live in the moment while improving myself" but again, he tells me I'm in denial and to seek therapy, which ends up pissing me off. He and I are like night and day. While he sees annoying people glaring at him in a crowd I see people who are happy and enjoying themselves. The weird thing about all of this is how he assumes I'm sad and angry like him while putting on a happy front, but I'm not, at all. Sure I have my moments like everyone but my moods don't last long and I'm back to being my same happy self, because I don't see the point dwelling on drama and negativity. What can I do about this friendship? |

I Just feel alone like I don't matter haven't had a bf in two years I don't know what to do. Basically I once told him about a film when we were in a conversation and replied with "Doubt it, since nowadays modern horror films come with cheap jumpscares and the marketing made it look bad" After a while he said that he generally doesn't watch new films so doesn't really care about this one. And this is where I'm stuck into endless thinking. If he doubted it before but doesn't care about it afterwards, is he going to keep on doubting it or forget about it completely? I might sound stupid but just want to know, because I probably have this obsessive persona that i just won't let go and can't help myself but think endlessly. I've been stuck on it for a week, you might say why do I just not care? I don't know, it's hard to say. Just let me know. Also I told him at the end that he never told me that he stopped doubting it when i told him that the film turned out great and he replied with. "No, alright. I don't ******* doubt it. Can you leave me alone now?" He talked like that is because I annoyed him too much with it most probably. He did because he found out he slept with her. It happened years ago from that night he stabbed the guy. He didn't like walk in on them. He stabbed him multiple times. He even made front page. The reason I'm asking this is because i still see some of my old friends hang out with him. I'm thinking why hang out with. I don't see them much anymore for personal reasons. It is really a pain in the *** to be her friend but I'm one of the only loyal friends she has because the rest end up getting away from her once she hurts them . But she still decided to go to the shop since she really needed the materials. Both of us didn t know the way to the shop so we just followed our other classmates, and when we got there she realized she didn t have enough money to buy the materials and decided to leave before my other classmates because they were taking quite some time. At first when she asked me if I knew the way back I said yes cause I honestly thought I knew how to go back from where we came, but turns out I didn t. In the end we got lost and wandered for about 30 min until we found a bus stop. My bff was really anxious because she was really late to pick her sister up so she kinda started crying. Later on she told me it was my fault because I said I knew the way back when I didn t. I apologized to her and told her it was probably gonna be okay. We then got on the bus and she went to pick her sister up. She didn t seem mad at me because she said bye when she left but idk if she s actually mad at me or not. Later on when I called her, it was her little sister that picked up the phone and she was angry at me and didn t pass the phone to my bff. What should I do? |

We go out a lot but I'm the only one who doesn't drink or smoke or anything, just because I don't want to, it's not my thing. My friends understand and respect it, we still have crazy fun. He said he wanted to kill himself and asked if his friend would help him with some plan. My brother's friend said yes. Of course I told my parents about my brother's thoughts, but so far I wonder if it is normal for such a close friend to commit to help with a friend's suicide. Is this a normal situation? | Posted: 10 Sep 2017 09:34 PM PDT On of my coworkers is like this and he's having a fit right now because "everyone is negative" and "nobody likes him"... I'm not involved but I'm just wondering... I understand he has emotional problems but I have friends with emotional problems too and they're not hypocrites like this. They either don't dish out what they can't handle or if they go over the line and piss someone off they take responsibility and handle what comes back at them no matter what. Why do some people act like this dude? I don't get it. YA put this in "Friends" but just to clarify this dude is NOT my friend... I used to respect him at least a little bit because he's intelligent and what he said was often true and perceptive, even if he said it in a mean way. But this incident is really just making me lose any respect I ever had for him. He just has so little self-awareness. Am I being unreasonable? Am I overreacting? |

Tomorrow my best friend Madie ( 17 ) and I are gonna ditch school tomorrow morning to go hang out together with our boyfriends. We usually get rides from our mums to school each morning but today I told my mum im gonna take the bus to school because my : LIE " Friend Gladius got in a fight with her best friend on the bus and wants someone to sit next to in the morning " so my mum said okay and i told her the bus leaves at 6:20. My mum wakes up at 6' oclock for work and the bus stop is right down the street. I have snuck out before but ditching is a first for me. I'm not sure if my mum will drive to my bus stop to see if im there or not because this is a sudden thing i am asking. Should i wait 5 minutes before the bus comes and then start walking to my meet up spot with my friend? Also will cops or people want to talk to me if i walk on main streets? I just don't want to get caught. |

I don't get anxious or anything when I talk to new people but it just feels like I never have anything to say, especially anything funny. |
| Question: Seriously considering ending a friendship? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 08:15 PM PDT I've been friends with this girl since first grade and for a while she's been the only friend I've had. But over the span of almost two years, she's been acting distant and kind of judgmental. I tried to ignore it but it became so painfully obvious that I had to bring it up. She tried to claim that it was stress from home or work but most recently has began to say it is mental problems. I've offered getting help but she makes excuses as to why she can't. I accepted these excuses until she began complaining more and more about how awful these problems were. Again I offered help and again came the excuses and by this point I was pretty irritated with her. Well her birthday came up and due to a family emergency, I couldn't see her that day, but had a present for her that she was supposed to come pick up. Well every day she was scheduled to pick it up, she made an excuse as to why she couldn't, and when I finally called her out on it, she went off on me. She told me I had an attitude and that I hurt her feelings by confronting her and that she was super busy and had a migraine and that she also didn't have the gas to come get it. She literally lives in the same town as me and pretty much is right up the road so I'm not sure how gas is an issue but the conversation ended with me telling her I'd leave her alone and to let me know when she could come get it. What should I do? |
| Question: Should I end things with my best friend? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 08:11 PM PDT So I have been best friends with someone for almost 13 years. When we were in school we literally did everything together but she always had to be the boss and I was always kind of the go along with what she wants type. She was also super attractive and all guys wanted her but I didn't get "hot" until college. Anyways college comes and we go our separate ways but still remain besties. Sophomore year is when things began to take drastic turns because she got into a very serious relationship. At first she kept me really included and told me everything but then she stopped. She didn't tell me when she lost her virginity to him and how (I found out two years later) and whenever they made any plans together like trips and stuff I was never told sometimes until they were already on their way there. I would sometimes find out things about her while our whole friend group was having conversations and it just came up. She used to tell me everything and now I feel like I'm not good enough. Whenever I try to make plans with her and have a fun day she doesn't want to. I haven't seen her in over a month and she still hasn't reached out to catch up. Whenever we text it's always so forced and I feel like she doesn't even care about how I'm doing. This has been going on for a long while and I am not happy with our friendship anymore (yes we did have a conversation about this where we both cried and made up but nothing's changed). Should I just end our friendship for good? |
