Question: Not sure if my boyfriend is gay? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 05:20 PM PDT We ve been together a year. And I m not jealous, I just keep wondering if he might be gay. He and his best friend are very close. He tries to invite him over almost every night. If said best friend doesn t stop at my boyfriends house that day then they will talk on the phone for at least an hour. My boyfriend will be telling me a story about something they did together once, and it will actually be a story about something that we did together. He will talk about his friend all the time, rather than ask anything about myself. My boyfriend is the type that would never even admit to himself that he could be gay. None of this bothers me, I m just really thinking that he could be gay. Thoughts? |
Question: Who was wrong? My friend or her former student? Was my friend used? Or what? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 05:10 PM PDT I have a friend. She has been teaching a while and confided in me about a student she had. She caught herself staring at this girl. No harm intended but she stopped. The girl stared back and eventually opened up to her about problems she had. To make a long story short, nothing inappropriate happened. Just a bunch of staring backwards and forwards. My friend made sure she passed the class. Brought the girl food and all because she was hungry. Even bought her a cap and gown. Towards the last week of school, she gave her cell # out to ALL her students so they can stay in touch after they graduate. Well this student started texting her before the year was over about her being hungry and all. She showed me the texts btw. When it was all said and done, the student began ignoring her. Before graduation, she asked her do her cap and gown fit. She didn't respond. She didn't even turn in her assignment. My friend feels terrible. She asked the girl did she offend her but the girl told her no. Bottom line, she felt like she was bending over and backwards for this kid. To soften any blow, she sent her a FB request but the girl ignored it. Recently, my friend text to girl just to see if she was ok and just thought she was checking on her. The girl didn't respond. Any thoughts on this? |
Question: Why do i ignore my friends for no reason? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 05:07 PM PDT technically that s not the question because almost always when i ignore them it s because i m pissed at them but i have no idea why? i ve done this enough times for it to be very apparent there s something wrong with me. i can t hold a steady relationship because all of a sudden i don t want to speak to them. it s nothing they do im sure and it s happened with so many of my friends who are so different?? i read somewhere it may be because of certain trait they have that im jealous of but i just don t see any one thing my friends have in common. i usually ignore them for weeks at a time and then all of a sudden i m good and i want to speak with them and continue on like nothing happened. it usually only happens with my really close friends or a partner and because of this i have 2 friends who haven t abandoned me and aquaintences. i feel so horrible because they feel like they did something wrong but they haven t. i don t know, is there any scientific explanation for this? i ve been diagnosed with severe anxiety and possible depression a few years ago so maybe that has something to do with it??? help please |
Posted: 10 Sep 2017 04:47 PM PDT At age 24, you would think I wouldn't have this issue. I actually wanted to be friends with the girl, but now I'm starting to resent her because she gets along with other women very well. All the other female students and instructors like her way better than they like me, because I get ignored by some of them. I've tried distancing myself so I con't come off as desperate, but it didn't work. I noticed I've been making excuses to not even go back to the classes because today marks a whole year and I still don't have any close friends there. It's so depressing because I see everyone have fun with their friends on snapchat & I can barely get a call back. I think people are liars when she says I'm fine the way I am. There is sometime wrong with me if I am rejected everywhere. I'm the common denominator. My mother thinks I'm fine the way I am, but when it comes to my issues concerning family, she's so quick to criticize me. She doesn't want me to change myself to make friends, but wants me to change for my family members to tolerate me. I'm so desperate to the point that I want to change myself because I don't get accepted anywhere I go. There's no charm school or anything to teach me how to carry myself in a way I can be likable, so I feel stuck, honestly. I'm the problem and not the women, I don't want to hear any BS about how I'm fine the way I am either. |
Question: I haven't done anything outside of school with friends in years and I'm nervous....? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 04:12 PM PDT I've almost always had at least a couple of friends I felt comfortable with, but the problem is that they don't get taken anywhere because I have extreme social anxiety, which can be attributed to a lot of factors but that's another story. I made plans with someone and I have no idea what to expect because I haven't done anything in so long that I don't know the customs of this. What can I do so I don't screw this up? What are some tips from your experiences? Also, how do I ask my parents? How do I present the situation? I'm extremely self-conscious of my social situation and talking to them about it makes it that more real and hard for me to handle. Also, how much info will they want about the parents? I'm going to the person's house to clarify that last update. |
Question: How can I avoid socializing without seeming rude? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 04:01 PM PDT I just don't like to socialize that much with most people. It takes a really special person to me for me to want to connect with them... Not everyone is a snowflake... |

Question: Anxious about being the weirdo - help? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 03:23 PM PDT I'm Autistic so socially very awkward, although for the most part I'm neurotypical-passing there have been times when I know I've come across a little weird and so I suffer social anxiety. The other day I was out with a group of people via meetup.com and I seem to be kind of accepted by some of the members, but there was a new guy who was clearly someone who was viewed as being a bit of a weirdo (nerdy beardy anorak type who didn't understand personal space) and people weren't keen on talking to him...one or two people were being a little mean jokingly egging people on to talk to him. I wonder if I'm not considered to be like him sometimes. Being a woman, and considered fairly attractive, it makes it easier but I still feel like a freak. |

Question: I'm nervous that no one will come to my birthday party? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 03:12 PM PDT So I sent out invitations yesterday for my sweet 16 birthday dinner coming up on the 30th. I have 20+ people invited but I'm afraid that a majority of them will not come. Another friend of mine is having her birthday party the week after mine and she sent out invitations the day before me and it's the same people and 12 people already said they were going and for me, only 2 people whom are my closest friends. We're having both our parties in the city which is about at 20 minute drive from my town. And our parties are like the same type ( karaoke). I'm afraid that everyone doesn't want to find rides twice in the same week for a party in the same place. She's a little more popular than me so I think that they'll rather go to hers. I feel like I should've sent out invations sooner but I wanted to wait until school started and make sure that I was still friends with these people. |
Question: Places to hang out without spending money? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 03:11 PM PDT Me and a friend want to hang out soon but we are both completely broke and they ve been banned from coming to my house by my transphobic dad. Any ideas? Preferably some where indoors |
Question: How do I throw a highschool house party? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 02:47 PM PDT My best friend and I want to throw a party at her house in a week or two. We've never thrown one before so we need some advice on how to make it good while not getting it busted by the cops. Her parents will be away, but we still have to deal with her babysitter (shes pretty young - probably around 20-25?) and two younger siblings. We will have it in her basement; there's nothing too expensive down there, its furnished, and there is a seperate door that people can come in from outside. advice? |
Question: Being told "Be a man, get over it"? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 02:40 PM PDT So my "friend" knows me as wanting to be a boy and I was venting to them about missing my past (early 2016 and late 2015) and it's causing a lot of depression than usual. I miss my past cause I things were better and I miss that place where I used to live. Now i live in a town where everyone in my school is rude to me and sees me stupidly. No one cares. So my friend told me to get over it if I want to be a man. |
Question: How to get people from not asking me for help? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 01:49 PM PDT It's so irritating. I'm very good at school. I pay full attention in class and put some effort to do my hw outside of school. As a result, everyone just sees me as homework answers. Idk how to hide it. It's in my reputation. I'm sick of everyone only talking to me when they need something, and I hate helping people. I used to like helping others, but I've been used too many times. I don't want to deal with this this school year. I'm pretty sure it'd be inappropriate to tell them how I truly feel. Some of these people are my friends. Should I just always tell them I can't help them (haven't done hw yet)? After wasting 7 hours of my life in school and an extra 1+ hours on hw, the last thing I want to do is a help a bunch of lazy mooches who can't do a thing for themself. What do you think? I don't want these people to dislike me (technically I don't owe them anything), but I also want to make it clear that I am not willing to help them unless they're going to be there for me when I need them. Sorry for the messed up question. Room was noisy when typing. I mean: "How to stop people from asking me for help?" |
Question: Is he just being nice or there's something more? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 01:44 PM PDT He is someone older than me, about 20 years minimum. I am a young woman. We work together. He is a very kind man to me, more than to others. Sometimes I tell him something joking and he smiles at me tenderly and strokes my hair. Many times he has stroked my hair. He calls me "dear" or "pretty". He also winks at me many times as he says goodbye while he smiles at me. Once he raised his hand to strike mine with his, and then he held my hand and came over to say something. Once I told him I had cold hands and I touched his to show it, and he again held my hand lightly. He usually helps me in tasks that are not his responsibility. I also noticed that he flirts more with me, making me compliments, when there is another man in front. What do you think? Is it normal to do these gestures? |
Posted: 10 Sep 2017 01:27 PM PDT my guy friend and I got into small arguement and don't get along he's been ignoring me, avoiding me and doesn't really to talk to me anymore and all of our friends keep saying to give him space and we'll be back to normal again. And just last night he asked my manager if I was coming w them to hang out and he said yeah and just said screw it. And at times it'd be awkward only because our manager did all the talking and when he didn't there would be awkward silences, also when he left us alone in the car I really wanted to bring our arguement but there was something holding me back and all I could say was How you been and he said good and asked me how I've been and i told him I've been better and he said it'll be better and we both had nothing to say after that… it was quite sad and disappointing cause I can tell it still affected him. Anyway I decided to text him like thanks for letting me come and that it sucks we lowkey don't want hang out as much anymore and all he said was yoo no problem and i didnt reply after that and tonight I'm lowkey trying to hang with him again and see if we can actually talk again so do you think I should ask him like would you want to chill again tonight? With our manager? Or talk to my manager and wait until i see him again |
Question: Social media stalker? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 01:25 PM PDT My friend is being stalked by a really creepy guy. She met him on instagram -he seemed normal at first so she talked with him, didnt want to be rude but later he started to say that hes going to kill himself because of her and other stupid things (he was just saying, but not going to do it). Later he created another instagram account with her pics, posted her sisters pics, found her snapchat and facebook. He lives in completely different country, can police still do anything to stop him? |
Question: Friend or acquaintance? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 01:22 PM PDT I've known someone at school for a year. Throughout the year we've been cordial and friendly, and more so over time. Now since July, I have also gotten connected with them via instant messaging. We talk there here and there. I haven't and wouldn't talk about anything to deep or secret yet, but a couple weird and upsetting things happened a couple times and I told them and they were supportive. We also have talked about fun and casual things physically and messaging like for example wisdom teeth, and video games, stuff like that. I had also made a couple mistakes where they were totally forgiving, recognizing everyone makes mistakes. It's been going well. I actually tho haven't really just hung out with them yet but at my school I'm planning on ordering pizza (we can do delivery) with him and a couple other friends. Idk tho I mean this is someone who is nice, and very supportive. And just good, and its another person I feel like could and have already talk about whatever problems and he did listen and give advice, not judge. Just a feeling that I can tryst him. Idk is it safe to call him a friend over acquaintance? I mean not like a best friend or anything there's levels of friendship, but its not like I just see and talk to him only in person at school, and have small superficial conversation |
Question: Where do I take a girl I just met? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 11:43 AM PDT Okay, so, I m in need of a little, friendship advice, I met this girl, she s in this online virtual homeschool program I do, (I m in 8th grade, idk if that helps), anyways, she lives in my area, we ve seen eachother s pictures, and texted, but never met up, her mom is VERY protective, which is fine with me, but I m not sure where I should offer to take her, obviously her mom would want to come, since she s like, never met me, and is OVERLY protective, so, maybe lunch, idk.... But I also feel that s not very "interactive", if that makes sense, what do you guys think, any thoughts?? |

Question: Am I Weird for Acting Like a Teenage Recluse? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 11:19 AM PDT I'm a 15 year old high school girl. I have one best friend and very few (3-4) friends and a lot of acquaintances. I am quiet. I have no social media. I've never gone to a friend's house except for two birthday parties, and I don't have many friends. I'm more of an "inside" person and honestly, my first instinct to an invitation somewhere is "no." I'm a terrible texter as well. I also am kinda socially awkward, I think. But I want to change some of that. I want to make more friends, and I want to go to my friend's houses more often, like a normal person would. Am I weird? Are there any people like me? |
Question: How to respond to being called pretty/beautiful? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 11:00 AM PDT I'm 21. Receiving compliments has always made me feel a little awkward for some reason, and I never know how to respond appropriately... I feel like saying 'thank you' makes me seem conceited, but then how else does one reply? For example, at a party last night, a girl I'd never met before just came up to me and told me that I'm (apparently) very pretty and that she'd been admiring me all evening. I guess she was just being friendly and trying to strike up a conversation. I responded by saying that she's very pretty too?? (again I never know what to say). Her reaction was a little odd to me. She kind of sarcastically said "oh gee thanks" and walk off?? and I was left wondering if my response was inappropriate or condescending somehow... Thoughts anyone? |

Question: My best friend has been a ***** to me? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 09:47 AM PDT Ever since she has gotten a boyfriend she has been really mean to me. Someone please help |
Question: I want to be tickle tortured? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 09:07 AM PDT I've watched tickle torture videos on Youtube and think they look fun. I love being tickled, but I don't get tickled that often. I've never been tied down and tickled, and I would like to be to have the experience. I'm too embarrassed to ask my friends to do it, they'd just look at me weird. What should I do? |
Question: I m scared that no one is going to come to my sweet 16? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 08:33 AM PDT So I sent about 20+ invitations yesterday out through facebook for my sweet 16 birthday dinner. My party is going to be on the 30th but I m scared that no one will come because I sent them out too late. I sent them out this late because school just started and I wanted to make sure that I was still friends with these people. Also another friend of mine is having her sweet 16 the week after mine. And I invitied the same people because we share the same friend group and 10 people already said they could go. Only two people have said they could go and it s my closest friends. I m scared that no one is going to go because our parties are in the same week and also we both have the same type of party. Most of the people i have invited have opened the invitation but only two have responded. |

Question: Dealing with those who publicly put you down? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 06:18 AM PDT During Basic Training of the Army, I often stood up to bullies. They always messed with the weaker trainees, so I'd step in. This caused bullies to try & belittle me, which never worked because everyone knew who I was. Now, I've graduated into AIT with lots of new people. I'm doing great, getting into leadership positions & all, except a large sum of these bullies went right in with me. Now, when I meet people, I always hear them say (ironical) stuff like "He's going to **** us all over," which makes people suspicious of me, whilst the bullies are in the background dipping/drinking/smoking. While in formation, one will try to make me look stupid for not knowing something, or highlight any mistake I make. Today for example, I was called by the SGT. So I ran up to him, thinking he needed me. It turns out he was calling me to go inside, so one of the bullies, as they were running by, about shoved me on my *** in front of the entire company and exclaimed, "Quit standing there like an idiot!" Id be lying if I said my self confidence and depression weren't already damaged by dealing with these people, but my primary focus is to not let this impression spread to all the new people I'm just now meeting. Tips, help, or suggestions? |
Question: My friend skin is changing colors who should my friend see? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 06:14 AM PDT |
Question: Why don't people on the internet care if something is bothering me? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 04:53 AM PDT Ok so basically i will come on here or on Facebook and simply express myself and say what is bothering me and instead of being helpful, people enjoy my pain or say something rude or don't say anything at all and the same thing on instagram. Why don't people bother to comfort me? Not even family? |
Posted: 10 Sep 2017 04:37 AM PDT I never admitted feelings but she could probably figure it out. I have no idea how she feels...I'm more confused than I've ever been about someone. I feel like she flirts and she always says things about my body. I'm wondering now if it's just amusing to her. She's in a relationship (that's not working well - together because they have a kid)...and she more recently acted like she didn't know who I was when I texted about going to her game (she had invited me to the first one). I didn't go. It sent a strong message to me. Though she said she had to get a new phone I didn't believe her. Today, I called a guy a bada33 -she was there- and he was like "I AM a bada33" then added on "Oh I don't wanna make 'her name' jealous" and she yelled "shut up!!" as she walked away smiling. I didn't know what to think of this - he could have been teasing her because he knew she was attracted to me. Or it could have been that they were all laughing about me behind my back and he was teasing with her about it. The day that I didn't end up going to their game, because of her text, he asked me while smiling why I didn't go and was pushing a bit for an answer " you said you were gonna go...what happened huh?" I didn't really have an answer - I didn't want to say I didn't go because she upset me with her text... I'm female and I am bi. I never admitted that I am. I'm 26, she's 33. How do I know if I'm being made fun of and cruelly dragged along for entertainment? He did also ask me once if I've ever kissed a girl and I just denied it. Figured it wasn't his business. So I'm under the impression there's some kind of talk about me outside of work - during their games. Our work is not an office by the way...it's a restaurant, not a totally professional setting. She used to bug me about never saying hi to her but now she always leaves without saying bye...questioning whether she even sees me as a friend.. Kobe: No I'm just trying to be friends. I'm asking to hear if I'm being made into a joke... Abbott: Because you wouldn't expect this to happen at this age. |
Question: Is it okay to grab an adults boobs? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 04:00 AM PDT So I was in the car with neighbor who was my friends mom driving home from a party so I could hang out with her son because I was at the party with my parents. I was feeling really horny because her boobs were really big. She was really drunk too. I told her that she looked hot and she laughed and said I could touch her boobs. I started squeezing them and after a minute went under her shirt and was feeling her nipples until we got home and it was so good but I feel bad about it now. I have seen her because she is a family friend and my friend's mom but she hasn't said anything to me. I really want to do it again though because she gets drunk a lot. Is this wrong? Extra info, she is married and I am 15. |

Question: Why did my friend stroke my arm at summer ball? Posted: 10 Sep 2017 02:52 AM PDT I've possibly been over thinking this, but here goes: At summer ball last year, I was sitting down next to my friend. We were talking for a bit, just before dinner was served. (I am so shy!...) After we had finished speaking and dinner was served, she then stroked my arm, but not just a little touch, she stroked up and down a total of six times. None of my other friends have ever stroked my arm like that - is there any significance in it? Is it a rare or common thing to do, and why would you stroke someone's arm six times? |

Posted: 10 Sep 2017 12:04 AM PDT I have a friend who says she wants to go to college with me, she says we understand each other better than her other friends, ect. Basically, whenever she is around her other friends, she practically ignores me and only talks to them! They also never invite me to hang out w them, etc. She has another "best friend" who I m not really friends with and she always complains about her, but she always chooses her over me. I just feel like the back up plan all the time, and I want to leave the friend group but I don t have a lot of friends out side of the group. What should I do? Also, does it sound like she's just using me or she is just trying to get rid of me? Pls respond!! |

Question: Why are girls so loud? Posted: 09 Sep 2017 11:07 PM PDT Whenever you go to the mall or to a store and see a group a girls, they're normally obnoxiously loud. But when you see a group of guys they just casually walk around speaking in normal tones to each other? I also priced it outside of my apartment. Every night when a group of people get home, I can always hear the girls talking clear as day. It's like they are screaming to someone 3 blocks away. But the guys voices are always quiet and muffled. Back when I was in high school the girls were always yelling and laughing like hyenas in the hallway while guys would lean in to say something to their friend if it was noisy. Do some girls just assume everyone is hard of hearing or something? I'm a girl but I've never understood the point of yelling when the person I'm talking to is 2 feet away from me. |

Question: Why do I look so different now? Posted: 09 Sep 2017 10:11 PM PDT Looking back at old pictures, I went through an awkward phase where I looked extremely ugly. A lot of people, including my family and friends, can t even recognize me in those pictures because of how different I look now. |
Posted: 09 Sep 2017 09:57 PM PDT I have always had a high aptitude for math, science, and to a lesser degree, the visual arts. My hobbies include playing guitar, skateboarding, rape, collecting antiques, and games that involve logic. So what uni do you think would adequately challenge and inspire me? I'm considering Cal Tech and UC Berkeley at the moment. Can you think of any others that might be a good fit? |

Question: Why do all of my friends never appreciate me? Posted: 09 Sep 2017 09:40 PM PDT Every friend I have had has never appreciated my friendship. A couple years ago I broke off a long friendship with this girl who would always create drama... but the problem was is that we were in a big group of friends. So when I unfriended her the whole group turned away from me.There was only one girl in that group who I stayed friends with because she ended up moving to another school because she got in trouble and wasn't allowed to see the friend group anymore because they made bad decisions. So basically I was the only one there for her when she went through a really low period in her life and now she has switched back to schools and is living with her more lenient parent so now she can see the friend group again. Knowing it was my birthday she just made conversation with me and didnt even tell me happy birthday or even acknowledge it. The only time she ever asked to see me in 3 months (after she could hangout with that friend group again) was when she only needed me to let her stay at my house for a couple days. Now its her birthday and I obviously told her happy birthday because what human wouldnt. Later she made a post saying something like "thank god for these people in my life who have been with me through the hardest times in my life im so grateful" and posted a picture of her with everyone else in that group INCLUDING someone she met like a month ago but not me. im just tired of trying for people it seems like no one cares. I just need advice. |

Posted: 09 Sep 2017 09:37 PM PDT Okay so my friend from middle school used to be really outgoing, funny, and charismatic. Freshman year she got a boyfriend. At first, she was still charismatic. We had a class together and we talked, but recently she hasn't been very bubbly. We just started junior year. I noticed sophomore year that she was hanging out with her boyfriend everyday (posting pics on Snapchat everyday). She doesn't really hang out with her close friends, and she quit the dance team (idk why). At a football game, she hung out with her and her bfs parents and went down for one minute to take pictures with her friends. I talked to her recently. She doesn't seem too much different but she didn't seem too energetic. Idk I'm a little frustrated with this new school year. Everyone's so down and negative. What do you think happened with her? I'm assuming it's common for someone to ditch their friends for love (especially since it's her first), but idk. I've never dated anyone.. I'm too busy trying to keep myself happy so I can't really emphasize with people my age. |
